The service was friendly but minimum, we ordered one oven octopus, whiskey pork ribs and sea food pasta. The two first ones were obviously frozen food. We sent the octopus plate back to the kitchen because it was not edible and they refused saying that the cooking was good : it was chewier than a car tire. So we had to order another dish (grilled fresh fish). They did not charge us for the octopus. We asked for extra rice which they charged us for 2.50€ for approximately 30g of rice. I do not recommend the very tiny "appetizers" olives + bread + tuna.
The restaurant is over priced for the food quality, but the decoration and location are rather nice.

Went to this restaurant tonight was dissatisfied I ordered sole the waiter said they would come to table and fillet my fish didn't happen my fish was over done wasn't asked through meal how things were very disappointed wont be back

Nice place in lovely position over the river. Quickly shown to our first floor table and orders taken but then it all went downhill. Took over an hour and ten mins for our meal to arrive even though the early evening rush was well over. Food was ok but not keen on finishing meal at 11 pm. Waiter apologised blaming chef absences in the kitchen but no freebies were offered. What made it worse was the restaurant was recommended by a trip advisor inspector!

We had an amazing food and music experience here last night. We booked a table for 7pm and we had the pleasure of listening to a live jazz/blues band, Dixie Kings. Service was top class, really friendly and helpful. Food delicious. If you're heading to Alvor, this place is a must. But be sure to book on Sinday evenings to get a good seat to beee near the band.

Great location... competing amongst many others in the immediate vicinity. Perhaps they have the edge on Sunday evenings with their live music offering. Food isn't bad and comparatively fairly priced. Yet, somehow, they're just missing the wow factor. IMO....

The food was very bad, expensive but the taste was dissapointing. We even found one hair in the potatoes. The clams still had sand in them. I would definitely not go there again! Big prices, low quality.

The food was ok. We need to wait nearly one hour for our food. Maybe if the food would come earlier, it would also taste better.

We've been here a few times over the years and it never fails to please. Last night we had seafood pasta - delicious! Service was attentive but not "in your face" and the house with excellent.

nearly had 4 stars- nice location, authentic type restaurant, food quite good. we had a bit of a misunderstand ing though which led us to be overcharged by 6 euros.. we were late lunching and ordered two dishes from the specials board. the waiter misunderstood and my husband's fish dish came, different to the specials, with prawns, which he is allergic to. they re-did the dish without prawns making it the same as the dish on the specials board, but charged us for the prawn a la carte meal. we didn't feel like making a fuss again so just paid.
apart from that, the food was ok, portions adequate but not huge, but the house wine was expensive.

Angenehme Location mit freundlichem Service ab und zu Livemusik, mit einer Terrasse die zum verweilen einlädt. Das Personal ist freundlich aufmerksam - das was die Küche verlässt ist optimal sehr gut und frisch zu empfehlen ist der Wein > ausgezeichnet, wir hatten einen super Abend und kommen gerne wieder.
Localização agradável com serviço simpático e música ao vivo, com um terraço convida-o a relaxar. A equipe é simpática e atenta - o que a cozinha deixa é muito bom , fresco para recomendar o vinho é excelente, tivemos uma noite muito boa e gostaria de vir novamente.

Dou duas estrelas com muita reserva. Pedimos lulas grelhadas e para grande surpresa nossa já vinham cortadas às rodelas ao que o gerente disse ser "mais prático devido ao facto de algumas pessoas não gostarem delas inteiras". As lulas estavam frias e queimadas por fora e cruas por dentro, parecendo ter sido grelhadas a priori.

Excellent le meilleur restaurant de alvor
Un vrai plaisir les plat son digne d un grand restaurant.
J ai était bluffé.
Les prix son super 30 euro en moyenne pour un couple .
Je recommande fois mille
J aurai mis 10 étoiles si je pouvais.
Vue incroyable avec le couché de soleil.

Não gostei! Nem do atendimento pouco cuidado é nada atencioso, nem da apresentação dos pratos, nem da comida! Está bem localizado em termos de vistas e sossego, mas é só. A poucos metros há uma oferta fabulosa de restaurantes com peixe fresco e saboroso e um atendimento muito simpático. A não repetir!

Fabulous setting, right next to the estuary. Lovely food and very friendly staff. This is on our go to list for a special night out, when in Alvor. Highly recommended!

As a local's opinion, it was a really nice lunch. Always wanted to come here, because it has this amazing view over Alvor's Ria. It should be amazing at late afternoon as the sun sets on the other side. We have asked for the dish of the day, as it was fried squids and they were superb. Tasty and, not too fried nor too raw. We were asked as if we prefered boiled or fried potatoes; we asked for the boiled ones and they came with the skin on - nice touch for the extra flavour. The waiters were very friendly all the time and when asked let us eat outside (we brought our dog) with no issues at all. According to the posters outside on they also provide live music: New Orleans Jazz on Sundays from 8pm (5€, reservation needed), Fado (tradicional portuguese music) on Tuesdays at 8:30pm (3€, reservation needed). Good experience. I will definitely come back to see the sunset here while enjoying an early dinner.

We went for a meal here last night and it's with regret that I'm having to leave such a awful review.
The service was awful. We'd ordered starters and hasn't even finished them & the main was brought to the table. We requested they where taken away until we finished the starter. The main meal was unfortunately not any better we'd ordered Portuguese steak 1 medium and 1 well done, sad to say the meal came bloody and very oily. We mention it to the staff who said they would recook it but by then it had spoilt the meal. So we requested the full bill and was offered the bill at a reduced rate minus the steak but we paid in full and left as we weren't after a free meal just a meal to enjoy.. Wouldn't go back now sadly.

Great fresh fish!
Really close to many other but at a much more affordable price. The fish will was one of the best I've had in a long time. The authentic fresh grilled fish. A nice view to the ria goes along nicely with the meal.

Food slightly above average. Staff slow and made mistakes with the bill and always appeared to be rushing around. Entertainment makes up for this if you can visit during one of their Fado or Jazz evenings which are really worth it.
