Don't understand those bad reviews ! We had a meat stew and it was excellent , I also thought the price was very reasonable .
As for the views they are spectacular.

Most incredible food experience of my life! My husband and I went to look for the best seafood in the area and was highly recommended here. The view is spectacular and the chef took the time to design our meal based on the fish we wanted. Kindest staff and really heart warming experience. It was a lot of fun and the food was AMAZING. Everything fresh and cooked to perfection. Couldn’t recommend enough

It has an old abandoned feeling, overpriced and not fresh. Plus- we were ill treated both on our way in and out. Don’t go here- there’s lots of other places around that are cheaper and better.

The view is quite a thing, but it looks like a tourist trap. And the service was not that friendly. And don't get me started on the prices... You can find better places at Monte Clérigo Beach.

Com um atendimento simpatico...e uma comida....desta vez fui ao final do dia e pediu-se pratos de carne... impecavel... no sitio que era, na epoca que estamos (pascoa) poderia espetar o dedo preço... mas não tudo impecavel...por sorte fim de tarde maravilhoso sem nuvens no ceu, otimo para se poder ver o por do sol...e inicio de noite para se poder beber o cafe e digestivo na esplanada para mais convivio entre amigos. Obrigado Sr. Gabriel...

Only good memories, we didn't dine at the taberna, we were there for a swim below, the river is divided by two before joining the ocean, quite and cold waters, you can go nude if you want, you can cross the river from the taberna to the side, i love it, great memories.

Der Wirt war so unfreundlich, dass wir eigentlich schon wieder auf dem Weg nach draußen waren, bevor wir Platz genommen haben. Keine Ahnung was der Typ für ein Problem hatte.

This place has so bad service, the staff has a really bad attitude and second is that we had to wait for almost 45min to even give our order and when we got the food it really was nothing special for the money that we had to pay and + of what I already mention the extremely rude service that we got.

Servicio espantoso. Es jueves, hemos venido a comer y hay poca gente, aún así han tardado 20 min en limpiarnos la mesa, 35 minutos en tomarnos nota, hemos pedido vino verde, ensalada y arroz, nos han avisado que el arroz tardaría 30 minutos, pues el vino lo han servido a los 40 minutos. En total 1,5 horas para empezar a comer. Y encima nos han dicho que sin prisas... Jamás repetiría.

Best seafood we ever had on the planet. Exceptionally well prepared! Ask the chef to cut a portion of sea bass or the like and "make it beautiful". (You can't easily get to the beach from here, though. It's worth the dive simply for the food!)

Ok, so it was 17:45 on the New Year’s evening (almost). The restaurant looked like it was closed, but the doors were open. Apparently, the owner was there. I asked if he is about to open or already closed. He smiled and welcomed my wife and I at the table.
We knew this place already. We are here in December 2018. In December 2019 we came again to eat delicious home made fresh seafood straight from the ocean. I told the owner what I like, he offered his best products in the stock... and he prepared them on his own (delicious octopus salad, mixed mussels and large delicious Dorada fish for two). We were the only guests in the restaurant, and it felt intriguing. The Chef and his Father came to check on us and chat a little. The Chef said “I cook with my heart”. When I asked if they are preparing early for New Year’s party, he smiled and said they were already closed.
If this is not love, I don’t know what is. Not to mention the food - the BEST in entire region! If you are a hungry surfer, a tourist sightseeing and visiting the beach and trying local food, a foodie looking for outstanding taste and atmosphere - Taberna Gabriel is a must visit place. Delicious food, great service, pure love enchanted plates.

Horrible. Nous y avons invité des amis
6 personnes. J’avais honte. Le serveur était désagréable et terriblement mal élevé. Plus d’une heure pour être servis et quand au bout d’une heure nous avons oser demander nos boissons il était plus que désagréable il y avait que trois tables prises on comprend pourquoi. Dommage nous venons souvent a Aljezur. Et ne manquerons pas de faire la pub qu’il convient. Des amis nous avaient déjà mis en garde mais je ne pensait pas que c’estait À ce point. Plus jamais.... isabel D.

Overpriced food is saying nicely. Server made sure we were aware of how much effort he was putting into serving us. The view of the sea meeting the river is really awesome, but can be appreciated much better from surrounding areas. Skip it!

Wir können nur die Lage dieser Taverne bewerten, da wir dort nicht gegessen haben. Die Lage und die Aussicht von hier sind auf jeden Fall ein echter "Knaller". Der Blick auf das "Flussdelta" und auf das Meer sind genial. Selbst wenn es windstill ist erlebt man -durch die enorme Brandenburg- wahre Wellenberge in Richtung des riesigen Stranes. Toll!
Wie der Besitzer allerdings hier -mit den wenigen Gästen die hier halten- auf seine Kosten kommt, ist uns schleierhaft!

Hay unas vistas magníficas y es un entorno absolutamente idílico para disfrutar. A partir de ahí, rectifico los comentarios que hice el año pasado. El servicio pésimo. Parece que molestas. El camarero más mayor (debe ser el duelo) hace que sientas que molestas. Da hasta miedo pedir pan. Sirve la bebida cuando se lo recuerdas y ya has acabado el primero. El pan al final. Y te atiende con una cara de amargura que te aguachina lo idílico del paisaje. Un horror. Y, por cierto, es un restaurante y la comida se nota que está hecha con poco amor.

Não se deixem iludir pelas vistas esplêndidas. As doses são minúsculas para o valor bastante elevado (o bife de atum traz literalmente de acompanhamento duas batatinhas, duas minúsculas batatas doces, meia dúzia de fios de beterraba em conserva e duas meias fatias de tomate). O marisco e os restantes pratos seguem o mesmo caminho, pouco para um preço exorbitante. O serviço foi negligente e pouco simpático. A não repetir.

La vistas espectaculares no acorde con el servicio y el trato de los camareros. 45 minutos en tomarnos nota y ponernos la bebida. Otros 40 minutos para servir la comida. Sólo tenía dos tipos de pizzas. Y la carta con buen pescado pero escasa en variedad. Una pena de sitio porque el lugar es increíble! Y la playa también!

Algún día se darán cuenta de que una buena comida y una situación privilegiada se merecen un servicio amable, no ese mal trato y esas caras largas, como si te hicieran un favor. Creo que necesitan una renovación del antipático personal que lleva toda la vida y cambiar con los tiempos.....

Sin duda llevamos años yendo y el servicio puede estar en mi top de los PEORES sitios en los que me han atendido, sinceramente espero que echen al camarero desagradable, viejo y cascarrabias que te atiende peor que a un preso y que sin duda hace que la comida y el sitio se vean perjudicados.
Iré una última vez para cantarle las 40 y no volveré a pisarlo en mi vida hasta que este establecimiento cambie su servicio o se mueran de viejos.

Dieses Restaurant gat als größres Vorteil das super schöne Panorama, oben auf einem Felsen gelegen mit dem Blick auf die Praia da Amoreira in dem Atlantik. Man könnte dort Stunden verweilen und den Blick, die Meeresluft und dem Meeresrsauschen lauschen. Das Essen haben wir dort auch sehr genossen. Ein etwas burschikose Kellner...der sich aber doch auch als sehr freundlich herausstellte...halt ein Unikat Wenn ich an der Al garve bin ist dieser Ort immer ein muss...dafür fahre ich auch schon mal eine längere Strecke. Schon wegen der Aussicht allein

Ich kenne diese Gaststätte schon lange, war aber noch nie zum Essen hier. Man hat einen sehr schönen Ausblick auf Praia da Amoreia. Kindestühle gibt es hier nicht, aber ein Gestell für Kleinkinder, welches am Tisch eingehängt wird. Schönes Ambiente im Inneren. Schnelle und freundliche Bedienung. Das Essen ist nicht so gut. Das Brot war altbacken. Die Sardinen viel zu sehr gesalzen, wenige Kartoffeln, wenig Salat. Kein Essig und Öl auf dem Tisch. Bei dem Schwertfisch ähnlich, er war zu wenig gewürzt. Eine Fischsuppe als Vorspeise war ganz in Ordnung, auch für "Fischsuppenmuffel" , keine Gräten, nur wenige kleine Knorpelstücke.

Excellent fish with amazing marinade and beautiful view of the beach. Be aware the the beach can't be access from this side as you would need to cross the river. Closest entrance is about 20 mins by car, enough to be able to digest the splendid meal.

Food was good. Omelette for two. Chicken grilled. And one burger (served without a bun). Five cokes. €60. The waiter is mr grumpy. Seriously bad attitude. Which is maybe why the place was empty!! Shame as views are great and the food was good for a "beach cafe". Service was quick but as I say place was deserted. Weird for a Saturday evening?

I hated the experience in this place. The employees were extremely unpleasant! Moreover the menu was overpriced (probably because the nearest restaurant is 10 mint away by car) and we could not choose what to eat since they refused to cook the dish we ordererd even tough it was in the menu!

Horrível!
O pessoal é muito antipático, atendem mal, quase parecem estar a fazer-nos um favor. Quanto à comida, tem dias. Há dias em que é boa e há dias em que é mesmo muito má. É questão de apostar na sorte.
Eu já não aposto mais. Detesto a falta de limpeza e de atenção.

Sobrevalorado por la situación....los camareros podían haber montado una funeraria y les habría ido muy bien (agrios y desagradables de cojones). La comida normalita. El arroz sin sabor. Y el precio excesivo. Las vistas muy buenas. Si vuelvo como mucho me tomaré un café.

L'accueil a été un peu rude, si bien que nous avons hésité à aller déjeuner dans un autre restaurant. Heureusement, nous ne sommes pas restés sur notre première impression et nous avons pu profiter d'un très beau panorama et d'une nourriture de qualité, que ce soit les plats de poissons ou les omelettes (servies avec des frites faites maison), sans compter que le personnel a finalement été très serviable!
C'est donc un très bon souvenir au final et une très bonne adresse!

Cute little restaurant / bar with a great view of the beach. Without swimming, the other beach is not reachable. Non the less amazing nature and beautiful beach with the river flowing inlands. The restaurant is nice and cute and could be better if not having plastic tables and stools on the porch. Otherwise 5 stars.

Ristorante in luogo incantevole con splendida vista mare. Il personale molto premuroso e disponibile. Ottimi piatti non solo di pesce. A sorpresa ci hanno fatto assaggiare una zuppa, antica ricetta della zona. Eccellente ogni cosa anche la torta di fichi e mandorlle accompagnata da ottimo vino porto
