By far the best surf school I‘ve been to. Both for beginners and advanced surfers. The teachers are great. You feel that it is not just business for them. If you check other schools they are mostly with 10-15 people in the water, that’s not going to happen with Boa Onda. Thanks guys, my fiancée Anna and I had an amazing time with you!

Unser Surflehrer Ibon hat uns eine sehr gute Einführung und viele Tipps gegeben, mit viel Geduld und Leidenschaft diesen tollen Sport näher gebracht und uns stets motiviert. Alle konnten bereits nach kurzer Zeit die ersten Wellen reiten. Wir werden definitv wieder kommen und mehrere Tage in der Surf Schule buchen. GREAT JOB IBON & many thanks.

Jose Nuno is an incredible teacher. Mr and my 10 year kid took classes with him in December. He was super all the time with us, understand kid behaviour and encouraging without being hard. He has the teacher knack. Highly recommended!

We had a fabulous day of lessons with these guys. We were 2 families, 9 in total, of varying ability and Jeffery and his colleagues went out of their way to tailor make morning and afternoon lessons to accommodate us. Both Ibon and Josh were excellent teachers - full of enthusiasm and encouragement. We all improved and learnt lots in just one day from the beginners in the white water to the more experienced of our group, out back in the 'green' water. Cant recommend Boa Onda surf school enough - thank you guys for a fab experience and hopefully see you next year!!

The best coach’s for surf you can ask for! The guys doing their job with the heart and try to make the best from you in order you enjoy the lessons and catch your best vases! Really great experience, we spent 3 days lessons and we loved it! We will for sure come back next year! Thank you!

With so many people just going through the motions these days, how refreshing it is to meet people who really care and are passionate about what they do. Having never surfed before - I chose the half day option as a little taster - which Jeffrey arranged promptly on short notice. All the guys are true professionals, and really care that you get the most out of it. I had Ibon as my coach. . . He had me standing up on the board within the first 20mins. . . don't know who was more elated: me or Ibon. If your considering trying it out - my advice is don't hesitate; go for it. . . truely unique experience. ‼

I had an exceptional couple of days with the guys of Boa Onda. I had initially signed up for half a day, but was so taken back by how good the surf instructors where that I stayed for a full two days! I have been to many surf schools across the world, and this is the 1st review I have written. The whole experience with them is as you would expect from any good, professional school. But what makes them stand out above the surf school crowds is their passion for teaching! I was blown away by how kind, encouraging, and simply amazing they were... and I am not talking about how they treated me, more on how they were treating the rest of the students! It was simply perfect.. and to think that this was in October at the end of their long summer season! Big shout out to Josh and Ibon! Thanks again!!

Me and my girlfriend just finished a 3 full day course with Boa Onda and it was really amazing! Our instructor Ibon was an excellent instructor. He had full attention for our learning process and he pushed us to get better every second of the day. The groups were very small. Even with 7 people we had 2 instructors that went into the water with us to help us and tell us what we could do better with every wave we took. At the third day I was even able to catch some green waves on my own without help and surf them almost all the way to the beach. This would not have been possible without the good teaching of Ibon. Mein Sohn hatte zwei Kurse à 3 Stunden der Boa Onda Surf School besucht und ich muss sagen er ist restlos begeistert. Die Gruppen waren recht klein und die Lehrer hatten solch eine Geduld sowie ein Wissen, das unser Sohn nach diesen zwei Kursen schon ziemlich sicher auf dem Brett stand. Der Kurs hatte alle wichtigen Inhalte, von der Aufwärmphase über die Übungen am Strand bis zu den ersten Fahrten im Wasser.Bei den ersten Versuchen gaben die Lehrer Hilfestellung indem sie das Surfbrett hielten, bis der Schüler sicher in seiner Position war um dann eventuell in den Stand zu kommen. Also alles in allen zwei sehr erfolgreiche Kurse und nochmals vielen Dank an alle Lehrer !

Wir hatten 3 Tage Surfunterricht bei Boa Onda. Was wir als erstes feststellen mussten das Surfen ein echt harter Sport ist, aber die 3 Surflehrer haben einen immer wieder Mut gemacht und einen aufs Brett gestellt. Man bekam aber auch Kritik, wenn man etwas immer wieder falsch gemacht hat. Der Vorteil bei dieser Surfschule ist wirklich, das man in kleinen Gruppen lernt und man sich immer wieder Zeit für einen nimmt. Thank you boys for this good Time.

Best and friendliest surf instructors I've ever encountered. Small groups, plenty of individual attention, good for all ages and levels of experience. I've already been back three times -- it's that good.

Once more had a fantastic time with these guys. I've been coming back for some years now, and the atmosphere and their commitment is incredible. My son learned to catch green waves with Ibon and Geoffrey, who have truly great talent to motivate and find the right balance between challenge and support. Ze Nuno taught me all the way from beginner to catching and riding and even turning on the waves, sometimes he goes out with me alone if there are no other participants for paddling out, he is just fantastic. We had yet another great week with them, we'll come back again next year, if there would be more than 5 Stars they would deserve them.

Great experience! We had such a great time with the Boa Onda team! We spontaneously booked 3 full days and felt secure and had lots of fun, even though they tried to push and support everyone in the group to learn as much as possible in the time spend in/on the water. The warm up, the theoretical parts on the beach and the support and motivation in the water was close to perfect and the groups were pretty small. You feel that these guys love what they're doing! We'll come back!

Surfing with Boa Onda Surf School was a great experience. Zé Nuno and Jeffrey are not only passionate about surfing, they are passionate about teaching you how to surf and they give a 100% for your progress on the board. They know how to challenge you in the right moments and make you feel safe at the same time, even when the waves are high and strong. Both guys grew up with the ocean, they exactly know how to read the waves and guide you through. If you ever plan to learn surfing at the Portuguese west coast, you better choose Boa Onda - you won't regret it. Beginner and intermediate classes are small, prices are fair, Zé Nuno and Jeffrey are fun to hang out with. There's no reason to go somewhere else. We will definitely come back. Thank you, guys!

The instructors are very-very cool and professional, great skills so that I could catch those waves on the first days. Helpful and supportive. If you ever have to choose, go with these guys. Comparing to the north of Spain, the beach is much more beginners friendly as well. Recommended, top notch.

It was so great last summer to learn Surfin` with Nunu and Jeffry. First success after a couple of days (my kids do it a little bit faster ;-) ) High professional and very nice teachers in a great area. Thats why we book again in summer 2017 - and looking forward to see you guys again. Hangloose!

We started surfing in 2010 with Zé Nuno as our surf coach and were totally fascinated by surfing. After numerous surf lessons in other schools in the following years, we came back to Zé Nuno in summer 2016. Due to his individual support and effective teaching we improved our surfing skills immediately. Boa Onda definitely is the best surf school we have ever been! The way of teaching distinguishes from other surf schools because it is of very high quality. The coaches are fully experienced, highly committed and able to transfer their knowledge in a clear and profound way. We thank Zé Nuno a lot for the amazing time in Arrifana and fully recommend Boa Onda surf school.

I surfed with Boa Onda for a week in September and can't wait to go back. Small groups, great atmosphere, amazing classes and brilliant instructors, patient and friendly! Zé and Jeffrey don't just stay on the beach telling you what to do: they are with you in the water and work closely with each person, which is not the case of every school :) Can't recommend them enough, I am already planning my next trip!

Me and my friend had booked a Surf&Yoga retreat week at Prana Casa. We simply loved it! Every day we started with yoga to prepare the body for the surf and at the end of the day we had a more restorative yoga practice, this really helped us a lot! We both had never surfed before and were also beginners in Yoga, but now we are going to look for a yoga class back home and keep on surfing in the holidays!
