A lovely Portuguese restaurant, that is covered up by all the other international restaurants. The food was tasty, the staff were calm and friendly. The ambience is relaxing, and the restaurant is spacious.

After a local recommendation, we were looking forward to eating here. We were sorely disappointed. Very old and tired decor, unfriendly staff and overly salty food. We also had white wine sangria which tasted more like cheap vodka!

Another GREAT restaurant in Carvoeiro. especially when chef comes back into the restaurant seating area towards the end of the service in the evening and goes round the tables! although do let me know if you should ever see him NOT Waring his blue rubber glove! Seriously, it's a very busy restaurant, popular with the residents and their larger family parties so you may have to wait a few minutes longer for your main course, but it's worth it, they can sometimes do a half portion for an adult if your getting to the end of your holiday and have already put on that extra kilo in weight! Enjoy.

The clams were divine and the Saltimboca one of Chefe Antonio's specialty very nice too. Portions are a good size, kids had children's menu and no complaints. Reasonably priced for the area.

Very poor. Slow service from 2 men who looked very bored, One muttering under his breath to himself. Dull flavourless food. Dirty table. Very disappointing. My peri peri chicken was very dry and had no flavour (either of the peri peri sauce or of chicken). Will never go there again.

Great food, good selection and big portions.Service is also very good. Sitting inside is nice and cosy or under the awning is perfect for that outsude feeling if the weather is a little damp. The Chefs complimentary fish cakes are delicious. Restaurant is always on our list of places to visit.

Fuimoss apenas a las 11 cuando ya cerraba las cocina, nos atendieron amablemente. Las mejores sardinhas grilla das de Portugal. Pescado muy bueno. Fueron muy amables. Recomendado si estáis en Carvoeiro.

有个院子可以停车，环境还算舒适，味道也还可以，有好有坏。价格稍微超出心里预期，主要问题是上菜太慢了，酒水饮料与点餐由两个服务员分别负责。我们七个成人，三个孩子，点完餐后，等了60分钟才上菜。

Absolutely awful! Do not visit here. It is a glorified tent on a balcony! We had finished our starters before drinks arrived, the couple next to us were served raw food which the restaurant refused to take back, the prices were all 50 cents out, people who arrived after us got served before. I am now waiting to see if we have food poisoning... I am only posting 1 star as it won't let me post zero.

Excellent value for money and very tasty food with huge portions. Friendly local service and will return.

Very friendly staff coupled with excellent quality food (and enormous portions!) make trips to the Chefe António restaurant a pleasure. I personally recommend the "bife de porco panado à cigana" (breaded pork steak, gypsy style) - which is also slightly spicy (chili pepper) and the "arroz de tamboril com gambas" (monkfish rice with prawns), both excellent dishes and enormous portions (so go hungry :-)

Really big portions - if you love meat this is the place you have to go for ! Especially I can recommend the pepper steak & the Cordon bleue

Sehr gemütliches Restaurant an der Hauptstraße. Das Essen ist typisch portugiesisch und wir auf jeden Fall frisch zubereitet. Das Personal kümmert sich sofort um einen und ist sehr hilfsbereit. Es werden multilinguale Karten angeboten, das Personal spricht ebenfalls mehrere Sprachen fließend. das Essen schmeckt wirklich ausgezeichnet, die Preise sind absolut okay. Das einzige schreckliche an diesem Restaurant ist die Musik :-)...

Ich weiß nicht was bei den vorherigen Bewertungen passiert ist, aber wir hatten ein vorzügliches Essen, sehr guten Wein und eine aufmerksame Bedienung. Alles sehr gut bis zum abschließenden Portwein! Ich kann es nur empfehlen!!

Dos piores restaurantes que já experimentei. Toda a comida era congelada, inclusive o peixe (bacalhau, salmão e sardinhas). E espero muito seriamente que o tratamento dos funcionários aos portugueses mude em breve, uma vez que tratam os estrangeiros de uma forma ridiculamente diferente. One of the worst restaurants I've ever tried. All the food was frozen, including fish like cod, salmon and sardines. And I seriously hope the waiters start to treat the Portuguese better, as the treatment is ridiculously better for foreign people.

Ate at this restaurant last night. Food was horrible, ordered a fish dish with prawns and monkish was informed it was served with rice. I was served a pot of some sort of fish stew which tasted vile! My husband ordered Peri Peri chicken which was also disgusting. When we tried to complain the waiter just shrugged and smiled.

Poor service as it took around an hour for our food to reach us. The menu was very brief and did not give any information about what the food actually consisted of and what it came with. The peri peri chicken consisted of wings with very little meat on them. The only vegetarian option was on the children's menu and looked like baby food. I could go on. The overall experience reminded me of the show kitchen nightmares.

In summary: bad service, bad food, bad in general. Where to start? We arrived and it was basically empty, but that didn't stop them taking an hour to cook our food. Upon arrival, there was nobody to greet us and show us to a table, when we were given a table, it was outside in the boiling sun with no shade whatsoever (even though there were tables in shade and with aircon available. Looking over the menu, the descriptions of food were extremely brief, they did not say what the meal consisted of, nor did they specify what the meal actually was. When I inquired into what was in a particular meal, the waiter just wrote down the meal i had asked about, did not answer me, and just walked away. While waiting we were given fresh bread and olives- the only good point of the trip- however this was not worthy of the star i gave this establishment, if possible i would have given it no stars, but sadly google does not have this as an option. One hour later our food arrived- peri peri chicken and vegetarian pasta (which was the only vegetarian option on the menu and was in the children's section). Having been waiting an hour we were expecting some good food, however even the smell of the vegetarian pasta made me gag! it consisted of pasta drenched in what looked (and smelt) like baby food, sprinkled with frozen peas- my 11 year old brother could have made a better meal. The peri peri chicken was not much better, what could have been done by a barbecue amateur was presented in a sloppy fashion consisting of small chicken wings with very little meat on them accompanied by a pathetic plate of chips. We then told the staff that we were not impressed with the food (which was a total understatement) all we got in return was the request for 20 euros (even though this was more money than what our meal was actually worth) however note wanting to spend another second in their, we handed the money over and left as soon as we could. So there was 1 and a half hours, and 20 euros i will never get back. Congratulations if you got to the end of this review and good luck if you ignore my review.

Great place - best fish soup ever, and costs only 2.50 €, plus friendly staff, and rest of food and drinks are good too and at decent prices - would totally recommend and go back

Fantastic find. Food was excellent quality and huge portions. In fact I struggled to finish my dinner. Very friendly staff and excellent value for money. We are booking another meal for another day as I type.

Lugar con encanto y comida autóctona portuguesa, nada que ver con las cocinas internacionales de los alrededores. La sopa de peixe es exepcional; al igual que los productos pesqueros, como la cataplana o las almeijoas. Sin embargo, me decepcionó el bacalao, estaba un tanto pasado y recalentado. Buen vino de la casa y buen precio. Y el trato muy cordial. Dispone de varios salones y terraza.

Un trato muy agradable y una comida casera muy bien elaborada, servida en platos SUPER abundantes y a muy buen precio, RECOMIENDO el CORDON BLUE!!! Espectacular para los deboradores de carne.
