I stayed at the Free Spirit Hostel as a solo traveller and it was an amazing experience! It’s a beautiful place, perfectly located for walking, sun bathing, surfing and other sports! The atmosphere in the hostel is great and the beds are super comfy :) I had very relaxing holidays!!

Séjour d'une semaine mi octobre. Hostel super agréable, au calme, belle vue. Jeune proprio super dynamique, chaleureuse et accueil facile car elle parle plusieurs langues. Extérieur de l'hostel divisé en plusieurs petites parties ce qui permet à chacun de trouver l'ambiance qui lui plait (au calme avec un bouquin, au bord de la piscine, hamacs, grande terrasse avec grande table et barbecue pour apéro et soirée où on peut faire de belles rencontres). Intérieur de la maison très classe, bien aménagé, grand salon où on peut chiller (fléchettes, guitare, écouter de la musique, TV, jeux de société) c'est top pour les jours de pluie (et oui ☺en octobre parfois il pleut + au portugal). Chambres, lits, propreté impeccables. Grandes salles de bain.. Je recommande fortement ce lieu!

I went to cascáis for a family holiday Loved the spot Cascáis is an incredible place Little old village very well taken care of All clean We stayed at the hostel of Rita in cascáis The place is like a rich house with everything new and clean. Awesome pool and garden We did barbecues We were a bit separated as we were in family but so nice to be with nice people when we wanted to socialize Rita makes a very good environment She has rules and makes sure all follow them and these rules really help to be pleasant for all sort of people Really recommend for families or single people

I stayed at Free Spirit 5 nights and loved it. The great pictures and vibe of the website made me really hopeful that I would love it as a surf retreat and it did not disappoint. Everything was very clean, the beds are very comfortable, and the living room is perfectly designed to be a great hang out place. I felt completely safe and comfortable even though I had been nervous about staying in a dorm room initially. The people were very friendly and the owner Rita was very friendly, accommodating, and understanding of my lack of plan, often extending my stay at the last minute. She really wants to ensure that everyone is having a good stay and has created a wonderful place. The location is great as well as there are many surfing beaches within 20 minutes as well as hikes and Sintra. I felt like my spirit was free here and would 100% come back and hope to!

It’s uncommon for your accommodation to be the highlight of one’s travel, but Rita’s place was exactly this for me. Rita immediately greeted us at the door and treated us like friends throughout our stay. Her place includes a pool, bbq area with bar and hammocks. The house is large, with dormitories and private rooms. There is also a spacious living room and kitchen. We easily spent an entire afternoon here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This place goes beyond a hostel, and you’ll leave wishing you spent more time here. Could not recommend enough! Thank you Rita.

Grande maison conviviale propre et très spatieuse avec piscine extérieur praticable. Notre séjour s’est très bien passé, nous voyons tous les jours de nouvelles têtes des gens de tous les horizons et de tous les âges ce qui nous a permis d'échanger au cours de soirées après le repas. La maison est assez grande pour plus d’une quinzaine de personnes, nous ne sommes pas les uns sur les autres. Rita est formidable, une femme très chaleureuse et qui parle plusieurs langues et qui te mets très alaise dès le début, elle est super chill( peut être du faites qu’elle soit prof de Yoga). Sa maison vaut le détour surtout pour son prix... Profitez-en Merci encore Rita et Catarina

Nous avons été reçu par Rita. Elle nous a fait un tour de l’auberge et expliquer les activités qu’il était possible de faire (yoga, surf, équitation etc..) et surtout la magnifique piscine qui trône dans le jardin et l’espace de détente et de barbecue. L’auberge est un espace convivial de détente où femmes et hommes logent ensemble. Nous reviendrons .

Nous avons séjourné 1 nuit dans cet hostel et nous avons adoré. En plus du logement (avec piscine) qui est très beau et parfaitement propre, l'accueil était au top. Des cours de surf et de yoga sont proposés tous les jours. Nous avons eu l'occasion de faire notre premier cours de surf ici et c'était très bien. Nous étions sur une plage magnifique avec un petit groupe.

I went to portugal to spend vacations with my sister . She wanted to book in Cascais as she knew Rita , the owner. I was very happy to see the spot when I arrived ! Totally cheap for what it is! A big swimming pool where we chilled after surf. We had yoga lesson with rita everyday and this was the perfect set for the whole day We had a lovely dinner with all guests of the hostel in the barbecue area outside and this was really nice too The people in the house were very cool guests Clean and respectful and very friendly so perfect set for a dorm.

Das free Spirit Hostel ist mehr als ein Hostel, es wirkt eher wie ein großes Ferienhaus, in dem man bei einer entspannten Atmosphäre nette Leute kennenlernt. Es fühlt sich an als würde man im Wohnzimmer einer großen offenen familie ankommen Wir hätten auch super gerne an einem der Yoga- oder Surfkurse Teilgenommen, haben es aber leider nicht geschafft... dafür gibt es auf jeden Fall einen Grund wiederzukommen! Das Haus ist sehr sauber und Rita ist super herzlich! Danke für die schöne Zeit hier!

Es war ein super Aufenthalt bei Rita!! Das Haus ist so gemütlich und der ganze Umgang ist sehr familiär. Es wird zusammen gekocht, raus gegangen und immer Rücksicht auf einander genommen. Wir haben leider nicht an einer der Yoga- oder Surf-lessons teilgenommen aber das nächste Mal werden wir das definitiv nachholen! Danke für den liebevollen Umgang und die schönen Tage :)

I am Jew and need to go t te shabatand this place is lovely. We visited Free Sprit hostel in August and had an amazing vacation, the place is very spacious, sparkling clean and warmly decorated. The kitchen is big and well equipped. The owner is very kind and super helpful. There is big area in the back yard for kiting and surfing gear if you are a surfer. Guincho beach for wave surfing or kitesurfing is a couple of minutes drive from here so come with a car or join people from the hostel. The wind picks up in the afternoon so in the morning you can surf waves if you like. If you are a beginner kiter you should probably go to Obidos lagoon since there are rocks and sometimes high waves in Guinho. Don’t skip the small restaurant Xiripity Taberna 5 min walk from the hostel - cheap and excellent food (very busy at lunch time, come early or you have to wait).

We had some trouble with our reservation, but we had a lovely stay here. The owner is really friendly. There was some room for improvement but Rita really listens and wants to make your stay as perfect as possible. The hostel is clean and the pool is amazing. The location is perfect for taking some trips to Lisbon and the centre of Cascais is worth a visit as well, the hostel has quiet and beautiful surroundings. A great place to relax!

A very beautiful little gem just outside of Cascais. The pool is amazing and the hostel itself is clean and the hostess is very nice. You can subscribe for yoga and kite surf lessons, but can also just relax around the pool. The hostess is very inviting and easy to talk to (as she speaks 4 languages fluently). It’s a little noisy sometimes if you’re on the downstairs bedroom, but overall it’s very nice to stay at. You do have to take care of your own food, but everything is very cheap to buy in the local area. There are a couple of little lay-back restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance that are nice to eat at. It’s very accessible for an Uber and within 5-10 minutes by car you’re in the heart of Cascais where you can take a train directly to Lisbon. We loved it here and would like to come back some day!

We hebben het echt super fijn gehad! Hadden 2 nachten gereserveerd maar hebben extra bijgeboekt. Rita, is echt super vriendelijk en lief! Geeft veel lokale tips en zorgt ervoor dat iedereen een fijne tijd heeft. Het was super schoon, groot en een top zwembad!! Wij komen hier sowieso terug.

Rita’s hostel is almost boutique as in it’s recently opened pristine state it’s exceptionally clean and she is very thorough in upholding that standard. That said Rita is fun and welcoming. She and her home were extremely accommodating of my 11 year old son as she too has three boys of a similar age. The pool was appreciated by my son and I got to take yoga every morning and surfing as one of the worlds greatest surf beaches is close by. Rita is very good on local and national knowledge and she is good at resolving and discussing through any issues that may arise. The location is ideal for those who have hired a car or those who don’t mind an uphill bike ride but the slight remote location (15 mins from town) gives it a retreat feeling and a more local perspective that you just wouldn’t experience being inside the tourist centre of Cascais.

Tijdens onze rondreis in Portugal verbleven we 1 nacht in de prachtige hostel bij de voortreffelijke (en prachtige) host, Rita. Bij aankomst eerst een heerlijke duik in het verfrissende zwembad en daarna een fris biertje, perfecte dag gehad.

Rita is very friendly and warm. She makes you feel home immediately. The place is a little heaven +-3km from the very busy city in a quiet neighborhood. You can relax, take a swim, sunbath, take yoga lessons or have organized surf trips. The house is well decorated and everything is brand new and clean. I personally chose this place to work peacefully and I can recommend Rita's place as a super nice co-working spot!

Rita est une personne très accueillante, sympathique,simple elle nous a très bien conseillé pour visiter la région. Free spirit est bien trouvé pour qualifier le lieu, il y règne un esprit zen, calme. Le logement est propre,très agréable, joliment décoré comme sur les photos... The hostel is in a great location, a short scenic walk into Cascais town. Daily yoga by qualified instructors, amazing Surf lessons. The host Rita, is welcoming and always accommodating for everyones needs. Free Sprit is an experience in itself, totally recommend for friends and family.

We arrived on the 1st of July and had a wonderful stay at free sprit with a great twist on modern and comfort the hostel had a huge pool and bar with a kite pateo and clean modern bunk beds I spent a lot of timein the pool chilling and chatting with a really nice group of people that were there. We saw my favorite movie which is a surf movie called endless summer, which was wonderful to socialise and build up the will to surf the next morning! Awesome surf lesson with Vasco

Hemos estado 1 solo día por falta de tiempo pero habríamos estado 2 o 3 más sin problema. El alojamiento es totalmente nuevo y está todo muy limpio. Rita ha sido muy amable con nosotros desde el minuto uno y nos ha dado todas las facilidades que hemos necesitado. Es muy simpática y extrovertida, la verdad nos hemos sentido como en casa. Ha sido una experiencia fantástica. Ideal para desconectar con familia o amigos. La casera, Rita, muy amable y ha estado dispuesta a ayudarnos en todo momento. Un trato muy amigable. Las habitaciones súper limpias y nos permitió entrar antes de la hora . Estamos seguros que volveremos

I enjoyed a lot the swimming pool. Manager is amazing helpful and outgoing, the place is clean. Strongly recommend it.
