When we first arrived I booked a basic room. Not a great idea as it was very cold and dark. I was not to pleased so my partner asked if we could upgrade to a better room. At the cost of 60 euros for the week we were offered a family room as it was all they had but belive me it was worth the 60. Open doors on to a patio with a beautiful view of the sea. And the sun was over us all day. The room were clean, with 2 bathrooms so we gas one each that was a bonus. The pool was 20 steps from our room. Plenty of sun loungers at no cost. Very quiet apartments with a mixed age group however more older couples. Staff were friendly and helpful, free wi fi. Safes were 10 euros for the week. The apartments were a 10 min walk from the centre. Now as for the nightlife there was no clubs, there were plenty of bar/restaurants but nothing to much. Perfect if your looking for a couples or family holiday. I say family as they have a bus directly outside the apartments that takes you to splash and slide Waterpark. Tickets are available from a shop in town. If your looking for the clubbing then the same bus takes you to a much busier town about 30 mins from here that has clubs pubs shops and market stalls galore. All in all it was my first holiday it was beautiful and romantic. I'd definitely go again if I was looking for a tranquil peaceful holiday. Oh and it was cheap, very cheap the only thing that cost the most was the Waterpark tickets. And if your a tea or coffee drinkers I'd suggest taking a travel kettle and your own goods as the bar charge like 2/4 euros a cup. There is also a fridge in the rooms.

Eine sehr schoene Unterkunft zum Toppreis. Wir waren positiv ueberrascht. Ein Schnaeppchen, Genius Offer bei Booking, nahe Lagos bei Luz gelegen. Freundlicher und schneller Check in, ein riesiges modernes Zimmer mit Balkon, groesser als der Standard heute.Grosser Flat TV mit Internatiolen Programmen, toll fuer dunkle und kalte Winterabende, Sehr viele Programme in Englisch. Klimaanlage, heiss/kalt. Grosses komfortables Bett, alles sehr sauber. Balkon mit viel Sonne. Das Bad komplett, sauber und komfortabel, Badewanne mit sehr heissem Wasser, nicht immer ueblich. Handtuecher in mehr als ausreichender Menge vorhanden, taeglicher Zimmerservice. Fuer das Auto ausreichend sichere Parkplaetze. Man kann nur begeistert sein. Toller Aussenpool, separater Kinderpool, fuer November waren garten und Pool im Topzustand. Ein toller Aufenthalt

Stupendo hotel con tutti i servizi più piscina e prima colazione da sogno.

Duży, czysty pokój, widok na basen, własny taras, łazienka (pokoje od ulicy to zdecydowanie gorszy wybór), codzienne sprzątanie, miła obsługa. Śniadania w formie bufetu, uzupełniane na bieżąco, smaczne, ale monotonne - przez 5 dni dokładnie to samo - ta sama wędlina, ser, płatki, jajecznica, croissanty. Dobra kawa, słabe odpiekane pieczywo. Bar na miejscu serwuje fast food, więc raczej nie nadaje się na obiady. Basen czyszczony codzienne (niestety tuż przed śniadaniem), ale mniejszy niż wygląda na zdjęciach, drugi płytki dla dzieci (na szczęście żadnych nie było). Może dobrze trafiliśmy, ale przez 5 dni wieczorami cisza i spokój. Zdecydowanie 1 gwiazdka za muzykę lecącą cicho przez cały dzień z baru - Queen, Led Zeppelin, AC DC, Boney M, Guns'n Roses - stara, dobra, w większości rockowa muzyka. 10 min do dobrej knajpy, 10-15 min do centrum Luz.

The Hotel had it all, pool-side, Sea view, and spacious rooms. The food was first class, and any dietary requirements were catered for. Nothing was too much trouble. All staff were always polite, and cheerful. Sandro, and his staff give 100%care, and attention to their guests. We will be back. Obrigada.

The bigest room ever, great cleaning services and very nice and kind staff.Usefull recommendation.Our room was close to the reception and too noisy. Hard to sleep later in the morning. Great view with the pool and the ocean.The room was clean but dated. So was every piece of furniture, the towels and the bed sheets .

I bet the rooms are nice on the other side of the hotel. No view lots of road noise. Clean but No hot water and poor pressure. Also no curtains on Windows to block light out.

Penoso el hotel. Los aires acondicionados averiados tuve que dormir sin aire xq asta el dia siguiente no lo arreglaban. Sin toallas limpias tuve que ir todos los dias a pedirlas. El tema de la cocina no lo vi muy acorde el cocinero sin camiseta y descalzo no comí alli ningúno de los dias que estuve. Resumiendo no volveré a ir a este hotel más.

Really enjoyed our stay, a group of 6 of us stayed for a week. The room was huge and clean, had a view of the pool and the ocean. The staff were all really friendly and welcoming. Thank you so much for making our holiday extra special.

Been to the area a number of times. Had family and friends staying in another hotel this time.Vilamar is ideally situated a 10 minute walk from Praia da Luz. The staff were really helpful and friendly. For the cost of the room the hotel was great value

Wir waren nicht so sehr begeistert. Zuerst einmal das Negative: - übler Geruch im Klo des Zimmers. Im Spülkasten befand sich Schimmel der in Kombination mit dem Kanal einen unangenehmen Geruch verursachte - der Holztürrahmen des Badezimmers war von Holzwürmern zefressen. Haben dann das Hotelpersonal darauf hingewiesen und die Schädlinge wurden bekämpft (wobei sie uns zuerst mit einem einfachen Wasserschaden abwimmeln wollten, ich jedoch mehrfach auf die sichtbaren Würmer hingewiesen habe!) - das Bett war äußerst hart und die Bettdecke bestand lediglich aus einem sehr dünnen Laken. Eine dickere Decke gab es nicht wirklich, lediglich eine Wolldecke aus dem Schrank, die aber sehr muffig roch. Auf eine erneute Anfrage hin, bekamen wir dann jedoch eine wirklich frische Decke (auch wenn das Personal meinte, die im Kasten sind natürlich auch frisch gewaschen. Das mag gestimmt haben, jedoch wohl vor vielen Monaten oder Wochen das letzte Mal frisch gewaschen) - Rezeption nur erreichbar bis 23:00 Uhr Das Positive: + nettes Personal + sehr geräumiges Zimmer und viel Platz + Terrasse mit Sitzmöglichkeit und nettem Ausblick auf's Meer + Hotel eigene (saubere) Pools mit Liegestühlen + Frühstück war gut. Typisch Portugiesisch. Wenig Wurst, sonst war alles verfügbar und frisch. Neutral: Es sind rd. 10-15min Gehweg bis in's Zentrum von Luz. Dort hat man viele Möglichkeiten zu Essen und zu Trinken. Auch für Kinder gäbe es dort genug Beschäftigung. Das Zentrum bzw. die Promenade ist sehr nett und es befinden sich (Mitte August) auch nicht zu viele Leute dort. In Summe war es auszuhalten (zumal wir uns nie lange dort aufgehalten und nur die Gegend angeschaut haben), jedoch war der Klo-Geruch wirklich ungut. Wird dieses Problem behoben, kann ich (und noch abgesehen vom Bett) das Hotel empfehlen.

With sadness our week at Vilamar is at an end :( we have totally enjoyed our 3rd stay in as many years here. Many thanks to Sandro, family and ALL the staff as that is what they make you feel like. Room was perfect again and maids did an excellent job, breakfast was well worth the money and the barbecue made by chef Alberto was the best. Pool was quiet and plenty sunloungers. There were children playing and having fun which is what holidays are about. We will definitely be back next year. Obrigade Vilamar family and staff. Overall a good experience. We only stayed for one day and did not had the breakfast but what I can tell is: our room, bathroom and common areas were clean and pleasant to be at. The guy at the reception was super friendly and the location was great. Thank you

Excellent property with terrific service and exceptional management. I was pleasantly surprised because of the value. The restaurant at the property has delicious food also at a great price. Breakfast was delicious on the deck outside by the pool. I travel quite a bit and Im happy to say I fell in love with Luz and Ill return soon and stay at Vilamar.

This hotel was great. The room was clean, updated furnishings, big washroom, small little dining are jusy outside the sliding doors lwading to a very well kept pool area. Greenery and palm trees surround the pool area with a view to the Praia da luz beach area. AC works great. Friendly employees. Lagos area is relaxed .... if your looking for clubbing not the place. But for a relaxing time and with beautiful beaches it's the spot!

Beautiful hotel , gentlemen who work in the bar and reception are very pleasant and helpful , pool area and rooms are nice very clean and homely but the owner isn’t very friendly. She walks around in the breakfast area / was eating with her child whilst doing her accounts whilst we ate as we do every morning , it isn’t inviting for children. There is an allocated toy area for children in the small breakfast area which has a sign clearly stating toys can not be taken out of the breakfast area and must be played with inside the allocated toy section but as my 10month old baby was playing in the toy area the owner was erratically ocd manner picking up and putting away toys as she was playing and saying she doesn’t want anybody to trip on them and implied to us that we were making mess. It’s more of a show play shelf to be displayed rather than played with. She made us feel very away

Staff were very friendly and helpful! Good location. Room was pretty basic and actually felt cold and damp. Hot water took ages to get through in the shower and when it did it wasn’t particularly hot - this would probably be fine when the weather is hot. You get what you pay for! Fine if on a budget and you don’t want any bells and whistles!

We stayed here for one night only and found it to be very good value with friendly staff and pleasant surroundings. We didn’t use the swimming pool but it looked very attractive and there were plenty of sun loungers. We would consider booking for a holiday sometime in the future.

Stayed for one night, room was large, had a few problems with hot water and toilet flush. However it was very clean and the staff friendly, breakfast good.

Ive stayed there 10 days. A great place to relax and chill. Facilities are basic but you are well looked after. Staff are very nice and friendly specially Jo who runs the whole place. He goes an extra mile to make sure you are happy. Over all I really enjoyed my visit. Will go back there again and strongly recommend.

Das Frühstück ist sehr einfach. Die Zimmer waren gross. Das duschen war eine Katastrophe. Kaltes Wasser und die Halterung für die Dusche hielt nicht. Handtücher wurden nur einmal die Woche gewechselt. Alles in allem kam5 ich dieses Hotel nicht weiter empfehlen

L'endroit est joliment situé avec vue sur mer en second plan et sur la piscine. Le personnel est aux petits soins et nous a gentiment servi le petit déjeuner une heure et demi plus tard pour cause de vol en mongolfière. Nous avons apprécié la chambre vraiment spacieuse, la propreté des locaux, par contre certaines installations sont vétustes : le pommeau de douche et les porte savons de la salle de bain. Le personnel fait l'effort de parler en anglais et à la réception le français. La nourriture reste simple et la restauration plutôt snack

El sitio esta algo retirado de la playa pero es trankilo y tiene piscina, las habitaciones son amplias, el baño no tiene utiles de aseo. el servicio muy atento lo unico por poner una pega el desayuno k es muy escaso.

We just stayed overnight before checking into a condo for two weeks in Luz. This is a great place to stay. It has a nice pool and surrounding area. Our room had a firm bed and was very large with a sofa, refrigerator and a patio. Beyond the patio was a grassy lawn. The place is a small resort. The staff is super friendly. We had to store luggage and wait the next day until we could check into our place and they were accommodating. We hung out in the bar area using internet and watching TV. I would definetely stay here again. Also it is a short walk into Luz with restaurants and the beach.

Very quiet and relaxing setting great for young families as its a no stress, chilled place to stay. Away from the tourist traps in Lagos but loads to do but you do need a car. Would stay again for a destressing holiday destination

Had a fantastic time at this hotel! Massive shout out to the chef Joe for providing me the essentials missing in my luggage (i.e sun cream shower gel after sun) the list goes on... Highly recommend this place to anyone who'd like a relaxing time in Burgau The hotel is only a 10 min walk from Praia da luz and a 5 minute drive from Burgau beach which makes it a perfect location

La estancia ha sido perfecta, hemos encontrado algunas cosillas mejorables, como el equipar a la habitación de un visillo, para no verte obligado a tener siempre corrida la cortina de foscurit y tener la sensación de estar siempre encerrado y sin luz natural.Con esta disposición de la cortina actual, te pierdes las bonitas vistas desde la habitacion.A tener en cuenta, la amabilidad del personal en general y muy en particular a Jose, que es un gran anfitrion.

Overall great stay. Very big rooms and clean. We were only there for 1 night so we didnt make use of the pool. Shower took a while to warm up. Wifi didnt work in our room.

staff were lovely and friendly. the hotel is basic but clean. the rooms are quite large for the price and the rear garden is nice with two lovely pools and good views. Parking is brilliant! all round a good place to stay.

A nice clean friendly hotel, pool was clean and plenty of sunbeds etc food was pretty ordinary, the bar wasnt always staffed but someone arrived fairly quickly. The hotel is situated some 20 minutes walk downhill, depending on where in town you wanted to go, the beach was more like 30 minutes away. the walk back uphill we didnt try but taxis werent easy to come by and buses were infrequent. Overall the experience was good.

We loved out stay at Vilamar, the staff was great. The resceptionist helped us with our excusions and suggested some other activities to do. Rooms are very big like a studio without thr kitchen. Close to the beach no issue with the 10 mins walk abd great area! Would come again

I got the impression it was under new mngmt within the family this season. Stayed during half term with refurbishment still going on. The place is simple and basic which would have been fine for the price, but the rooms smelt of damp. The room also had no kettle, and when asked if I could borrow one from the kitchen as I'm an early riser 6.30 and breakfast doesnt start till 8.30 I was told to read the rules in the room. Everything was 'read the rules' no warmth and no atmosphere . I was informed that tea is not a traditional drink in portugal therefore no kettle in the rooms. Yet i didnt see any Portuguese guests. Surely you cater for your clientel. It's just not run by friendly people. The staff are good but look demotivated and the place still needs some tlc. One of the staff Joe partially made up for it with his hospitality. It's a shame b'cos the place has a great little potential. Everything felt like too much hassle!
