Best Hostel in Lagos! Enjoyed my stay a lot. It has an awesome roof top terrace with a jacuzzi! The host Tommy is very funny and enjoys to make his guests happy.

Un lugar perfecto si viajas sola. Es seguro, limpio, cómodo, bien ubicado y con personas muy agradables. Si vuelvo a Lagos, no dudaría en volver!

Preis-Leistungsverhältnis Ist top, allerdings sind die Zimmer recht klein und eng. Es gibt nur zwei kleine Badezimmer, die etwas herunter gekommen sind. Die Dachterasse ist auch schön. Für 1-2 Nächte vollkommen okay.

The facilities themselves are fine, but I don’t recommend staying here if you’re a solo female traveler. Tommy is inappropriate and flirtatious with his guests (and I’m not the only woman I’ve met who has had a similar experience with him). Also, he had a video camera in the dorm room that I was staying in, which is disguised as a fragrance diffuser above the lockers. If it’s not already illegal in Portugal to film people in their private quarters, it definitely should be and Tommy should be held accountable.

The hostel itself is just OK. It's not the greatest facilities and its loud at night because it's right above a major pub street. Please dont stay here if you want quiet! (Although noise canceling headphones more or less do the trick) That being said Tommy makes this place. I've never had a hostel owner be so nice and helpful. He will bring everyone out to dinner and even took me to his gym as a guest so I could get in a workout. I would stay here again just because of him! Thanks for an amazing stay Tommy!

Had a great time at the hostel, little bit of street noise from near by bars but that's to be expected given its location. Tommy is a great guy and I met some amazing people here!

This hostel is the best hostel I've ever stayed. I felt I was staying at my house. The host Tommy is really nice, helpful and sweet guy. He always made us(guests) fun and enjoyed. And also the hostel is always clean and tidy. I will recommand this hostel everybody. If you stay at the 17 hostel, you may not leave. :)

Il migliore ostello che abbia mai visto. Il personale gentilissimo aiuta a fare amicizia. Pulitissimo e comodo anche per la posizione visto che in breve si è sul percorso delle varie spiagge. Ottimo per la vita notturna visto che è a un passo dal centro e dai locali. Spero di tornarci! Questo posto mi ha cambiato la vacanza!

I stayed there for 5 days and I assure you it was, with no doubts, the best decision that I took. I've met wonderful people there and the staff... well thanks to Tommy (owner) which gave me the chance to stay there and to have dinner with me ! Estela who turned to be a special friend and Tiago who helped me a lot. The 3 of them will stay forever in my heart and thanks that, I'll go back again there, the next time I'll be in Lagos. It's was clean all the time, a lot of confort and a great atmosphere at the hostel. It's really well located (like 2 minutes by walking from the city center) and there's plenty of bars/pubs all around. A lot of respect and happy vibes in this place. I totally recommend it !

To the lady spewing accusations of Tommy being a sexist: We saw the videotape and you left out an important detail namely GETTING A GUY IN THE GIRLS DORM AND THE OTHER GUESTS ALARMING MANAGEMENT THAT THEY ARE BUTT NAKED IN BED AND TO KICK THEM OUT. That being said: We were a group of 6 and due to the recent Ryanair strike we messed up our booking and had to overstay. That was no problem for Tommy and he was so nice to us and had no problem rebooking us. I had a blast in Lagos and the 17 Hostel was a big part of that. Thank you Tommy, thank you 17 Hostel staff you guys are the best!

As a solo female traveler who has stayed at 100+ hostels, I have never had a single negative experience until I stayed here. I've also never left a review or filed a complaint with a booking agent, but felt this warranted i. Tommy is a nice person on the surface but a misogynistic pig at heart. He yelled at both me and another female friend for cuddling in bed with men we were with (also paying guests at the hostel) when no sexual activity whatsoever was involved, and became rude and insulting when we defended ourselves. Frankly I would have owned it if I'd actually had sex, but was literally just resting after an exhausting day. When I argued with him he grabbed me by the shoulders and said "get the hell out" while physically shoving me (a 5'3 110 pound woman) down the hallway. I told him to get his hands off me and he said "you're a crazy lady" - typical sexist behavior after putting your hands on a guest I guess. Of course, he didn't say a word to the men and later told them "I know it's not your fault, it's the women." Maybe some people won't mind that kind of treatment, but I felt totally uncomfortable and offended as a woman and would never recommend it to my friends. Oh - and some bartenders around the corner told me he has hidden cameras in the bathrooms. I can't confirm this but after how he behaved, I wouldn't doubt it.

Not any Hostel in Lagos. This is the hostel in Lagos. Perfect location, wonderful environment and outstanding host, Tommy. Pool, Fussball, dards... all in the rooftop. Kitchen, warm showers. It make our time in Lagos. Better than words, a staying.

Clean rooms, comfortable beds, roof terrace. Tommy, the owner of the Hostel always takes care of you. Best choice for party peoples, because there is a bar under the Hostel.

I stayed 2 nights here and they were nice and chill with good people. There are two bars below with loud music, so don't plan to go to sleep before they close at 2. The owner Tommy is super friendly and was just as involved in the hostel festivities as the travellers.

버스터미널에서 걸어서 7분정도 걸렸던거 같아요. 호스텔 바로 근처에 작은 슈퍼도 있고 광장이나 여러 상점과 인접해 있어서 좋아요. 해변까지 걸어서 5분이면 가는 거리에 있어서 좋았어요. 시설은 그냥 무난하게 잠자기 좋았고 주방도 작긴 하지만 있을건 다 있어요. 옥상 테라스가 정말 멋있고 뷰도 최고였어요. 그리고 무엇보다도 주인 직원분이 너무너무 친절하시고 친구처럼 잘 챙겨주고 하나하나 세세하게 알려주시고 도와주셔서 체크아웃할때 헤어지기가 너무 아쉬울정도로 정말 좋았네요ㅠㅠ 단점은 방음이 전혀 안돼서 밤에 끝장나게 시끄럽긴 하지만... 그거 말고는 정말 추천해드립니다

We had the best time here. Tommy, who owns the hostel, made us feel very welcome and happily introduced us to locals and nice places for food and drink. His welcoming attitude brings everyone staying at the hostel together, which makes it an ideal place for solo travellers as he introduced new guests to everyone. Every night here we had good night's out with other hostel guests.

It's a really fun hostel and I had problems with leaving, didn't wanna go away! The owner is really fun and nice, the hostel is also at a good location! If i'm coming back to Lagos, I will stay there again!!

Probably the cleanest hostel I have ever been to. Opened up less than a year ago and is completely renovated. Usually attracts a young crowd and is located next to lots of bars, so some noise till 2am. Very much in the center of Lagos. Tommy is a very friendly host and goes out of his way to make sure everyone enjoys themselves. Great experience! Highly recommended!

If you're looking for friendly, good vibe hostel, this is a must STAY hostel. The best hostel experience I ever had. Room are equipped with wifi, radio in the room(can you imagine that, Aircon for summer and super cozy bed. The balcony and terrace is definitely a bonus for fellow Hostelbookers bonding and drinking. Every room, toilet and kitchen are clean daily. The location of the hostel is central, walking distance to the beach and etc. Did I mentioned we have a super friendly owner? He took care everyone of us very well! Make sure everyone of us is in good condition, bringing us out to pub crawl. The good vibe hostel you ever want to have.

This hostel makes you feel home immediately, everything is perfect. Everyone there becomes your family in a first day, is a great being there. Location is perfect I would never change it, everything is so near, bars, restaurants, beaches everything. Tommy (the owner) is the best he loves his place, his job and all hi’s guests, that’s why everyone has a great great time there. He is really helpful. I must mention that I have forgot some of my stuff there and Tommy has sent me by POST so this is generous. Thank you The17 hostel for being my home I cant wait to come back again. Obrigada
