This place is absolutely amazing - it is super cozy, the food is great and the owner is there to tell you great stories and add a personal touch to everything. It is great to see the sunset as well. We keep coming back for more!!!

Definitely the best place in the area. We came here to eat three days in a row and sometimes went there for lunch and dinner. All the menu is super delicious. And the owner and chef is super friendly. I truly hope I will be able to come back to this place to meet Bilal again! Cheers from Lithuania!

The food was delicious with large serving sizes but still inexpensive. It came out fast and was hot, filling and very tasty. The owner was incredibly kind and generous. He gave us blankets and tea, chatted with us for a while and made us feel truly at home. There is also a beautiful view of the ocean and sunset if you go for dinner. The restaurant was by far my favorite restaurant I went to during my trip to Portugal and I highly recommend getting food there.

Fabulous experience! The view was gorgeous, we watched the sunset over the ocean while cuddling under nice blankets provided by the owner as it got colder. The food was delicious and the cook/owner of the restaurant came and spoke with us personally about the food and how he made it. He was a very friendly, absolutely lovely person! The food came out very quickly and was very fresh(fruits and sea foo) and hot. I don’t always love falafel but this was so good, and the dessert was fantastic! There was also a great variety of food too. We all got different things and they were all great! My friends and I left full and glowing, exactly what we needed after a full day of hiking! If I were staying another day I would go for breakfast lunch and dinner. The experience made my day.

The place is marvellous! All the food we tried was extremely delicious (tuna, squids, shrimps, spaghetti gorgonzola with ceshew). Also, the owner and his wife were so welcoming and friendly that we came by almost every day.

Breathtaking sunset views, personal and warm service, delicious food (fresh fish, Arabic snacks and homemade goodies) and cosy atmosphere with ambient music from the region! We spent a perfect evening at A La Bilal and felt very welcome here by the kind owner. Very much recommended!

Sehr nette, äußerst zuvorkommende Inhaber. Wir hatten sehr leckere Vorspeisen (Falaffel mit Humus und warmen Ziegenkäse) und im Anschluss ließen wir uns perfekt gebratene Thunfischsteaks und gegrillten Fisch schmecken. Auch der warme Schokokuchen mit Minzeis war köstlich. Alles in allem ein super entspannter Abend mit einfachem, aber einfach mega leckerem Essen und noch dazu absolut faire Preise. Tolle Sicht auf den Sonnenuntergang gab's gratis mit dazu.

The food is not bad, but also not impressive. However, service could and should be a lot better. The dishes are described in one way, but the kitchen make any switches they want without any notice. It takes a lot of time to get someone at your table to place your order, and they are always in a hurry. But you see the staff taking long talks with other customers. It leaves the sensation we must be VIP to get proper attention.

Alcohol which was not drunk whole was put back in the bottles!!!! Spagheti was floating in the watter and was horrible. The only tasty thing was fish. Curry was used pointless in every dish with huge amounts. I definitelly don't recomend this "restaurant".

A MUST visit in Aljezur. Not only do you get fantastic dishes, cooked by Bilal himself, you get a chance to have a conversation with him - a fantastic, lively character of the small town.

One of my worst experiences ever! Tuna steak was heavily over-salted and the squid was including bones, without spices (except 5 unpeeled garlic cloves) and pure rice. No sauce, vegetables or anything else. And as we talked to the chef about it, he directly started shouting at us, that he does this for 18 years and that we have no clue about cooking. Perhaps he just had a very bad day, but I would definitely NOT recommend this place for dinner!

We ended up at this restaurant a bit by chance, and we were extremely positively surprised by what we found. This is a small informal restaurant owned by a very kind Jordan man. We ordered the shrimps of the house, and since we told the chef that we liked coconut milk very much he changed his usual recipe and made us the most delicious shrimps in coconut milk sauce we've ever had! We also had good falafel wraps. We've ended up spending very little money for what turned out to be one of the most memorable meals we've had during our roadtrip around Portugal. We hope to come back one day and have another lovely chat with the owner! Our tip: if you'd like to make a small change to one of the dishes in his menu, just ask, he'll be happy to make what you like if possible!

We booked a table outside so we could see the sunset - well worth it. Had a great meal shared goats cheese starter between 3 which was lovely. Had the chicken kababs - delicious - only point is that we chose large - you do not need to have large as we also had a side of chips. A litre of excellent value house wine washed it down. Staff all really friendly and service quick. The owner even sat down to ask ask us how we found out about the restaurant. Definately go back again - relaxed and great value.

I went there because of the good rating but I have to say I was a bit disappointed. It’s good but not that good and quite simple. Service was nice and smiley though.

Well, I believe previous reviews and pictures do not make justice to this place and therefore deserve an other one. Went there on the night of Fri 17th August 2018 as this place was open until 11.00PM. Location/Lay out While most of the people tend to go to the Italian restaurant right next door, A la Bilal is a very chilled and quiet place which I would definitely advise if you want to avoid the crowd. Tables are long and you can relax on the hammock if that's your thing. Foodwise, I and my friend were hungry and ordered a snack first with a beer( bottle, no draught there). The service is kind and recommended the chicken kebab (5€). While the preparation was slightly long, it was definitely worth it! While my standards are German/Turkish kebab, this one is definitely a good one considering the location, wish I ordered the big one (7€). For the main course, I ordered the Tuna Steak with fries (12€) which was again a good surprise (picture) . I didn't put any fancy filter on it, but I would recommend it. My friend ordered the fried squid and seemed satisfied as well ( they are still filled with the organs though, maybe you can ask the service to remove them if you want to). Overall a nice place, with good foods and a friendly service (From what I heard, they can speak German, Russian, English, Portuguese and... Maybe some other languages?)

Paramos sólo a tomar una cerveza y nos entró hambre... pedimos unos "camaraos a casa" y acabamos chupándonos los dedos. Gambas con salsa de ajillo (estilo pollo al ajillo). Sólo probamos ese plato, pero tuvimos que repetir la mejor ración de gambas de la zona y a muy buen precio (7€). Merece la pena probarlas!

Food was tasty. Service was friendly albeit when busy can be very slow which is the only negative. Calamari was the pre-prepared frozen type and disappointing. However Tuna steak, prawns and kebab were delicious. I’d go again however reviewing down due to service on the second time we went there which was not great as food was delivered at different times for kids and adults. Adults starters and main courses came all together bizarrely

The best restaurant in alzajur area. For middle East foods and seafood and vigitarian and have a nice sunset view and you can see the sun sets in the Atlantic ocean

Die guten Bewertungen kann ich leider überhaupt nicht teilen! Wir haben zu zweit hier gegessen, wir beide waren sehr enttäuscht. Ich habe noch nie so einen schlechten wrap serviert bekommen. Die Falafel waren völlig zermatscht und der Rucola lieblos in das Brot gestopft ohne erkennbare Soße. Kein anderes Gemüse außer einem Stückchen Tomate. Ist der Koch nur in der Hauptsaison da?! kann ich leider überhaupt nicht empfehlen.

Comemos um humus e falafel. A comida estava muito boa. O atendimento é razoável. Na rua tem muitos brinquedos para as crianças, incluindo uma casinha de brincar, mas infelizmente, lá dentro tinha um grande cocó e precisamos de passar o tempo todo a evitar que os nossos filhos fossem para lá brincar.

Really delicious place with kitchen inpiration from all over the world and graet and fresh local food too:) We had grilled fresh fish over there, great starter with goat cheese and hummus...and tuna steak with special rise and sallad..So many spices and tastes create in one fine finished dinner. Really nice plice with great host and kitchen master :) Just try it!

Excellent authentic Portugese and Arabic meals at great prices. If you visit only one restaurant in Arrifana, this should be it. The owner is charming and you can really taste the care he puts into his food. We came back multiple times and were blown away each time.

Cozy place and tasy food on good price. The fish was great and fresh. The owner was charming and interesting person with nice and smooth sense of humor, providing great hospitality and even teached us a fun card game and stayed to played with us! We felt like at home! Highly recommended!

Richtig geiles Essen! Kann ich nur empfehlen, es war mehr als gut. Extrem frisch alles. Wir haben super Fisch, Bakhalau (oder wie auch immer das heißt), Caipi, Wein und Schoko Soufflé mit Minz-Eis als Dessert gegessen, war alles restlos zu empfehlen. Sehr gerne ganz bald wieder!

Sehr leckeres Essen. Die Speisekarte geht weit über Falafel hinaus. Uns hat alles super geschmeckt. Man kann draußen sehr schön sitzen. Bilal ist ein super Gastgeber, der sich nach dem Essen zu uns gesetzt hat und sich mit uns unterhalten und verschiedene Schnäpse ausgegeben hat. Hier fühlt man sich wirklich willkommen und gut versorgt.

Absolutely a MUST visit restaurant in Arrifana and restaurants in Aljezur! Bilal is a master chef and serves everything freshly cooked!! If you are searching for a seafood restaurant, authentic Portuguese food, Arabic food, or just LOVE, this is the place! The bakalava is amazing and so is the shawarma.

Уютное место и очень вкусная еда! Готовят быстро и вкусно. Порции большие. Пробовали бакаляу и маленьких осминожков - наелись до отвалу! Очень веселый хозяин заведения, например, открыл нам правду про бакаляу и сказал, что чеснок в осьминогах не для красоты, рекомендуя попробовать) Ещё у него прекрасная жена Яна, с который мы были рады познакомиться и поболтать. Рекомендую!

Vorweg, der Service war sehr freundlich und das Ambiente angemessen. Zu den Hauptgerichten kann ich nichts sagen, müssen nach den Bewertungen hier ja aber wohl besser sein. Wir hatten lediglich Gerichte aus der Rubrik "Snaks" und "Starters", wobei Beispielhaft der Cheeseburger sowie der Falafel Wrap erwähnt sein. Beide waren leider wirklich nicht gut. Falafel Wrap geht prinzipiell mal als solcher durch aber ich bekomme z.B. in Berlin an jeder Ecke einen Besseren und sorry jeder weiß was passiert wenn der Salat vor dem Backen in den Wrap kommt. Cheeseburger würde ich schlicht nicht als solchen in der Karte anpreisen. Jener bestand aus Salat, Möhrenstiften, Majo, ner Scheibe Käse und einem "Paddy" welches geschmacklich wohl nur eine aufgewärmte Frikadelle aus dem Supermarkt war. Die Chips zum Burger haben wir dann wieder abbestellt nach dem wir mit dem Essen "durch" waren, sowieso die Lust verloren hatten und diese auch noch nicht in Sicht schienen. Der Chef lief wie von Anderen beschrieben durchs Lokal und fragte hier und da wie es war. Auch war er prinzipiell mal freundlich nur empfinde ich es als seltsam gefragt zu werden was denn nicht in Ordnung war nur um sofort ausufernt zu hören, dass ja Andere total begeistert davon wären nur wegen diesem und jenen kämen und die eigenen Erwartungen einfach falsch sind. Entweder ich bin am persönlichen Eindruck des Gastes interessiert oder eben nicht. P.S. Der Sangria war sehr gut und mit reichlich Frucht.

By far the strangest restaurant experience I have ever had. The place had the weirdest mélange of themes. It had a laid back, hippy vibe even though it seemed like a middle eastern restaurant. It had weird motivational slogans everywhere, Amy Winehouse music playing and some games as well as a printer inside. It was just a complete clash of themes. That’s just the start. The owner had a bizarre aura to him. He had a slight, disingenuous smile. He stumbled around talking to customers. He told weird jokes about the customers themselves. He seemed to have insulted one of the customers. When he talked to us, he was rude to my friend, making us uncomfortable. The falafel wrap I ordered was okay but was 70% rucola. Other stuff happened that I can’t remember but what an odd experience. I didn’t hate it though. If you want to leave a place scratching your head having eaten average food, this is the place.

La comida está rica y el precio es muy económico. El local tiene una terraza muy agradable, pero el interior es algo cutre. El servicio es muy amable. Tiene juegos de mesa, libros y juguetes para los niños.

One of my good experiences to eat in a la Bilal restaurant...I visited twice first time I ordered grilled seabas and my wife ordered squids and both of us been very satisfied and we book again to eat lamb next day....and the trip to Damascus ( the dish name ) was more than amazing.... The kitchen in the restaurant is designedso people cam watching the food preperations if tgey want. I recommend people who seeking the good food and not expensive place to visit and if you get the chance to talk to Bilal ( chef & owner) he will treat you very well (depending on if the restaurant busy or not...)

EN Worst experience ever...I've ordered a meal called "bacalhau à brás" because it's one of my favorite dishes. Once the dish came, I could sense a very odd smell, like something wasn't fresh. Maybe the codfish (bacalhau), the olives on top or the eggs. I couldn't tell exactly, but something wasn't right. One thing is for sure, the dish was frozen, because it was served very quickly. It just looked very dry, like it was microwaved or heated in the oven for a few minutes before served. My girlfriend, from the other side of the table, immediately felt the same odd smell. I've called the waitress (there were 2 of them, none talked Portuguese, they told us that it was their summer job and they would be out of there very soon, and ironically, they seemed happy about it). They called the chef (Wich was the boss), and he came questioning what was wrong with the dish. After a polite explanation of the smell issue, he started to be very agressive and telling us that left his old job to be a "chef" because everyone told him that he had a good sense of smell (I don't know what to think about this). Then, in a mid conversation, he turned the back on us with the dish on his hands and went bother other clients to ask them if they felt the same odd smell on the plate. Came back to us telling the dish was fine and that we were talking nonsense, like crazy people. I don't know that the other clients told him. This wasn't what I was expecting for a place with such high score, in a such beautiful place. It's a shame for someone running a restaurant with such an incorrect posture. You can see what I mean just by looking at his replies on any bad review to his restaurant. He simply does not accept a critique. You don't even need to be there to understand what kind of owner he his. I've never had such a bad experience like this one in my life. If you want to have a good meal in the area, I strongly advise you to find a nearby restaurant. Also, the restaurant wasn't very tidy in terms of higiege. I believe that the two waitresses weren't working there legally.

Ein großartiges Restaurant und ein liebenswürdiger Inhaber der sowohl im Service als auch in der Küche aktiv mitwirkt und sehr gutes deutsch spricht. Tolle portugiesische Leckereien und auch orientalische Speisen werden angeboten. Nach Wunsch auch vegetarisch oder vegan zubereitet. Wir haben uns an zwei Tagen durch die Karte probiert und waren mit allen Speisen sehr zufrieden. Der Wein ist auch super lecker. Den schönsten Blick auf den Sonnenuntergang gibt es obendrein. Awesome owner Bilal is a great chef and really nice host. Lived in northern germany for 3 years (20 yrs ago) and still speaks german quite well. He is originally from Jordan, thats why the falaffel tastes really authentic. Great food for good price. Value for money is 6 stars. Unbelievable nice view of the sunset and cool place to hangout (hammocks etc). You will hear old rockclassics (Stones, Santana, Guns n Roses...) from a TV and it really lets you travel in time. Bilal es un cocinero estupendo con platos muy propios y saludables, solo con decir que teniendo mas restaurantes al lado cenamos alli tres veces en nuestras vacaciones. El restaurante escmuy acojedor tanto para largas veladas como para que los niños esten entretenidos.

You can really feel when food is made from heart and in this place it is. Simple and perfectly delicious. I tired tuna fish and it was just excellent. The other bonus thing is that from this restaurant you will see perfect sunset. But the best thing about this place is it's owner that makes you feel like home, will cook perfect dinner for you and will find time for conversation.

DESASTRE / DISASTER: They didn't have our first options when we orderer. The waitresses were more worried checking their smartphones and smoking than working. The first dish arrived 45' after ordering: some unpeeled prawns. The waitresses took us the drinks before the tablecloth, and they didn't give us napkins. The POS (TPV) didn't work. The food is not very expensive but it's quite simple, so it's not worth it. They were 60% full, aprox. There are much better choices quite near.

The Service was horrible and the food was disgusting. We ordered squid that wasn't prepared probably and full of Sand.
