No-frills, basic accommodation. Large rooms, clean but dated decor, bedding & furniture. Needs some sort of temperature control in room - no heating or cooling! Very noisy, every sound echoed down the corridors. Asked reception to extend stay - was refused stating hotel was fully booked but rooms still available for that night when checked on several online booking sites. No facilities for left luggage when leaving late - cases left in small reception. Not a place for those with mobility issues - many steep slopes & steps! All-in-all, the Cerro Malpique was adequate for our stay but certainly nothing outstanding compared to other Alfagar properties stayed in previously.

Alles super, gerne wieder! Sehr freundliches Personal, tolles Appartement. Vielleicht wäre es schön gewesen , dass ein Lappen oder Schwamm in der Küche gewesen wäre.

Great value for money, close to everything. Lovely clean apartment. We had a pool view which was lovely, beds and pillows comfy and very spacious. Only problem is the hill/steps. They are a killer but taxi was only €3.60 to old town so of you walk down the steps it's not expensive to get back

There are some better places closer to the town for the same if not better prices staff were lovely but only maid service on first day

They don't all communicate with each other. We moved 3 times within a week. Thanks to Marco Silva we finally got the right room. We also, didn't get a card for the electronic back gate, until a week later. We were charged one EUR because we accidentally broke a small glass. The rooms were nice and clean but somehow the noise from the others, seem to come right through the walls or door. The wifi in the lobby, is almost as good as the dial up. Some of the staff were good, some.....not so good.

Spacious flat with everything you need and nice views. Just a walk away from Albufeira's city centre. The pool was a bit small, but enough to have a quick splash.

Nous y avons été il y a maintenant 3 ans et a l’époque tout c’était bien passé, nous louons un "Studio" pour 250 euros la semaine et nous avons eu le droit a un vrai appartement avec une chambre un salon etc... Appartement un peu vieillissant mais pour le prix c’était très correct. L'emplacement est idéal pour visiter l’arrière pays tout en profitant d'Albufeira. Seul bémol pas de supérette ou de restauration et attention aux Chiens du voisinage qui hurle toute la journée aux alentours dès le matin.

I would have been prepared to pay for wi-if in my room but it was only available in the lobby. One small spong/scoured and a tiny washing up liquid would help at the start.Apart from that the hotel met all my expectations. Quiet, a great view, a good bed, four English programmes on the TV though it was dated and a bit small. This is a clean, well equipped room rated at three star and is what it says on the tin. I have travelled to 146 countries around the world and this is VALUE FOR MONEY. if you want 5star then go and pay for it.

Las habitaciones del hotel son de buen tamaño y cuentan com muchos servicios sin embargo no había shampoo en el baño ni tampoco tienen aire acondicionado las habitaciones. Hay buena vista desde algunas habitaciones y el hotel cuenta con piscina.

Das geräumige Apartment gab reichlich Platz und besaß einen riesen Balkon dazu. Es war mit den nötigsten Dingen ausgestattet. Man konnte sich gut entspannen, da es recht ruhig war obwohl es sich nahe der Stadt befand.

This was our 1st time stopping in this property, it was very clean very friendly and close to all amenities, the swimming pool was kept really clean, the only down side there is no air conditioning which when really hot 2 fans are not enough, a very pleasant stay.

Horrible la esperiencia, la limpieza de los cuarto de baño, era asqueroso con bacterias y las esquinas negras, los balcones eran terrarios para gatos q se colaban los balcones y se hacían pis, los cajones de la cocina rotos y antigüedad en todo, la TV de tubo antigua con 6 canales uno para cada pais, facilitan zona WiFi sólo en zona de piscina y abajo con señal muy baja, no me gusto nada y no lo recomendaría nada

Happy with our stay. Recently stayed in a superior one bed apartment on a self catering basis. The apartment we stayed in is around the corner from the main block, because of this the man on the reception desk gave us a lift to the apartment in a minibus which we thought was nice. The apartment was spacious and met our needs. The aircon didn't seem to work but we didn't feel the need to complain as we were out most of the time. We didn't experience any noise issues. Would recommend, and we would stay here in the future.

We spent one week in one of those apartments. Very good apartment with kitchen, air conditioning, terrace and rom service, cool and relaxing swimming pool and incredible view over the sea. As negative the noise during the night and the surroundings. As you get out of the apartment there is no pedestrian areas and you have to walk really on the pavement tar full of traffic which is chaotic and dangerous for families with children.

Stayed here for a week. Very enjoyable experience and wonderful staff there. Apartments very spacious ,clean with fully equipped kitchen Lovely view of the beach from our apartment . Only downside is the walk back up from old town, all 98 steps (sure to keep you fit). Well recommended and we will definitely return here

Buen lugar para conocer albufeira !!! Excelentes vistas y buenas instalaciones. El área de la piscina muy agradable y con vistas del pueblo y el mar... Tiene sana y baño turco disponibles!!! Hay que caminar un poco hasta el centro pero es un recorrido fácil, aunque de subida cansa algo! Los apartamentos muy bien y el sofá cama cómodo!! El personal agradable !

Aparta hotel un poco antiguo. El cuarto de baño tenía los azulejos muy deteriorados y el mueble del baño estaba picado. El suelo estaba sucio tenía pelos y migas de pan. Los grifos de la bañera y del lavabo goteaban informamos al de la recepción para que lo arreglasen. La TV era antigua y la voz se le iba y venía continuamente. El servicio de limpieza muy pésimo. Por lo demás está muy cerca de la zona de marcha. 100 escalones para bajar a la zona de restaurantes y pubs.

Hotel bien situé à quelques minutes de la place centrale, et beaucoup descaliers pour accéder au centre ville, attention ;-) Il est également bien situé pour fuir le centre en voiture, avec la route à quelques centaines de mètres. Deux supermarchés à proximité.Garer la voiture na jamais été un souci.La réception est toujours ouverte. Il y a des draps et des serviettes (contrairement à la description), changés en cours de semaine.Bonne literie. Cuisine entièrement équipée.

Annonce mensongère payé 162€ la nuit pour 4 et n’avoir que 3 matelas simple la 4ème personne dors sur le canapé dur!!! Pas de vue sur mer ni piscine mais sur un mur. Pas d’insonorisation et équipement tv cuisine vieux et abîmé. Très déçu des vacances gâchées

El unico problema son los ingleses irrespetuosos.. borrachos que hacen mucho ruido. El resto genial.

Very Clean and extremly friendly staff. They charge you to call a taxi or transfer. Would recommend flat shoes if walking to town as it involves a number of very steep steps.

This Hotel is at the Top of the Hill, overlooking Albuferia Old Town. It's nice walking down to the Old Town, and a bit of a hike to get back. Good food and nice swimming pools.

Just returned home after a week stay with my 14 year old daughter. Cant compliment the place enough. The staff are so helpful and friendly, the apartment was clean, spacious and bonus that it overlooked the nice quiet pool area. Yes there are a lot of steps to the town but its very close and if you dont want the challenge of improving your fitness levels whilst there its only about 4 euro in a taxi. We will definitely be returning. In fact my daughter wants me to book to go back next year straight away. Thats the biggest compliment ever as at 14 she usually gets bored and not once did I hear her use this word all holiday lol. Thanks so much to all the staff who made our stay a very positive one x

Nice apartment, clean and tidy. Very large and lots of cupboard space. Fridge, toaster, coffee maker, microwave and kettle all provided. TV with some English channels. Very close to the old town and a five minute walk to the supermarket. Nice view from the balcony too. Pool bar opens 10 till 6 each day and serves snacks. The hotel should invest in felt pads for the furniture. They make a hell of a noise when you move them and this travels through the floor. The pillock above me likes to rearrange the furniture in the middle of the night. The beds are enormous and very firm.

Good for self cater or eat out.. Lidl and aldi round the corner.. Macd's and KFC close.. Walk to the strip.. Old Town not far.. Lots of restaurants and places to eat but you have to be up for a walk.. I've done at least 5-10 km everyday uphill downhill get lost on the way.. Joseph's bar is welcoming round the corner worth a visit he does specials tues/thurs with local produce.. Sun terrace pool area is a suntrap so good to sunbathe till late afternoon the chill and hit the surrounding area after.. All diff types of food you want not far.. Indian/chinese/steaks/seafood.. It is what you make of it

We stayed here for 6 nights, and were very happy. The staff were incredibly helpful, and very friendly.The accommodation was clean, and everything we needed was there. The balcony overlooks the pool which is most inviting. We will most definitely be back

Very well set out with lovely views over the old town. Steps up and down to the main square are not for the faint hearted.

This review is also about Albufeira as well. Starting with the hotel and room. We was situated on the top floor which is a large 1 bedroom apartment. It's fairly modern, but the furniture is dated, it's got a lift leading to our apartment with a lockable security door of which the staff leave open allowing access to our front door and large private balcony/terrace, the problem here is that none of the locks work on the windows and doors, so there only is those cheap hook locks bodged on offering no security at all, anyone could easily get in. The maintenance people did some work on the first security door having used a grinder to enable the door to close properly, but unfortunately they didn't file off the sharp aluminium burrs right where you lock it and they left leaving their aluminium filings all over the floor, and it still doesn't have a handle to pull it closed from the inside. The TV has only 1 English Channel (itv) which is a very grainy picture, there is no WiFi. The kitchen has the usual fridge, cooker, kettle, microwave and utensils. The shower is very good. These apartments are situated on the edge of the old town, but getting there is a very steep walk back plus a hundred steps to contend with. All the pavements are in a very bad state of repair, they are very slippery. Where there is no pavement you have to walk on the road. I wouldn't recommend this area for those with mobility problems, if your in a wheelchair, then forget it. Albufeira is full of wild/stray cats including cat mess. Also there is graffiti on nearly every wall. The streets are dirty and in a scruffy unkept state, there is a lot of rubbish and litter. Also, there are signs of people urinating almost everywhere . I also saw a person injecting something into themselves on the 100 step back, and spotted drugs beings sold from someone's window in broad daylight. Be very careful, as Portuguese drivers see pedestrians as targets. I work as a highly experienced HGV driver, both UK and international, believe me when I say this, is that Portugal has the worst drivers in Europe (I wouldn't give most of this lot a dog licence, let alone a driving licence) they don't even like to stop for you at the proper crossings. Would I come back, NO. Nobody wants to get injured on holiday or your apartment robbed, and I get the strong feeling that the Portuguese don't like the British. That's a shame really, because if it wasn't for us coming here they'd be picking olives or herding donkeys (or even living in Boston Lincolnshire, apparently the area has a very large population). I hope you find this review helpful.

Overall stay was quite good - very nice property, although the primary complaint is that it was very hard to find from reception. The staff made it seem like it was right around the corner when in fact, it was almost a 360 degrees - all the way around. Also, they said parking was easy on the premise - when we finally found the gate, which was wide open in any case, just a few cars in the small area, however, had we parked there, we would have been entirely blocked in by other guests given the small area. However, we were able to park on the street without issue, the apartment was very large - only a small bar of soap (no shampoo), but otherwise very comfortable and 10 mins walk into the main area of nightlife, though far enough to be quite quiet and relaxing.

The place is overall very nice however there’s a lot of room for improvements.The studio we ere given we were ensured it was good for 3 people, which would have been enough if the 3rd bed was not a bed on the floor with a flat mattress.I did call before booking and was ensured the 3rd bed was going to be there, upon arrival we had to ask for a proper bed which was still not as comfortable as the other 2.The cleaning was quite poor every other day, very superficial and in fact on our last 2 nights we were scared to death by cockroaches, huge cockroaches that we had to call the night security. We were told there was going to be a deep clean the same day which didn’t happen and it was our last day so we were out most of the day.Staff was overall nice but as the place is nice, as well as the location (5 minutes walk to the centre of Albufeira) they could do a bit more especially in terms of bars and cleaning.There’s another building, couple of blocks further down that has a jacuzzi and a nicer swimming pool but we only found it on our last night.I would book in the other block next time for sure.

Our room was big enough for 4 of us with a fully equipped kitchen and a huge balcony with great sea views. The grounds were well landscaped and very clean and we enjoyed the swimming pool. The hotel was a 10 minute walk from the old town. The staff were friendly and helpful. Altogether, this was a good choice and we enjoyed our holiday here.

De los mejores apartamentos de Albufeira

Great place to stay not far from beach and town .....there are a lot of steps down into the old town ....most people got a taxi to beach and marina...only around 7 euro .....lots to do plenty watersports ,....and lovely restraunts....would love to go back ,faro airport has been completed and is much better than previous its smart and easy to understand .

Very good hotel BUT only slept 2out of 10 nights because of hen/stag party bad behaviour.lots of shouting singing at 4/5in the morning. Not the hotels fault ,the staff were great. The holiday was fantastic and the hotel also,just let down by clientele

Prima appartement. Op het dakterras kan je heerlijk zonnen en afkoelen in het zwembad met een mooi uitzicht. Alleen jammer dat er veel jeugd midden in de nacht of sochtends vroeg terug komt van het stappen en het super gehorig is. Daar wordt je wel wakker van. Bedden zijn ook erg hard dus niet heel lekker geslapen.

Its decent for the price were paying. However the cleanliness of the room could be improved. Overall, the staffs were helpful, allowed us to store our suitcases and helped order a taxi for us.

This was our 4th stay at these apt’s a few extras done to the rooms, hairdryers in bathrooms. Newly decorated. A lovely welcome by reception staff and poolside barman is lovely nothing is too much trouble for him. Speaks good English. An asset to this company. Kitchen is fully equipped with full oven. Central for everything, Aldi and Lidl 5 minutes walk away. Old town square 5 minutes down the steps. Great location. Fantastic views. Keep up the good work malpique. See you all next year.

Just home yesterday from staying at the Cerro Malpique Hotel. It's a beautiful clean hotel. Very spacious and it has everything you need for a self catering hotel. Fernando at reception was fantastic with us. Anything we needed he helped us with. He was so friendly and made our stay a very pleasant one.

The hotel itself is in a great location and lovely view overlooking the seafront. The staff at reception we're okay - nothing special. The staff member at the small bar by the pool (Raeinaldo, not sure on the spelling) was particularly brilliant, couldn't ask for a nicer man! All items at this bar were reasonably priced. The maids/cleaners were fantastic and made the rooms spotless every other day. In regards to the pool, very clean and well kept by Raeinaldo. Overall a good holiday and good hotel. Shame about some of the weather

Nice apartment hotel in peacefull area. We had one bedroom apartment at top floor for 5 nights. Beautiful wiew over town and to the sea from our balcony. Kitchen was ok, but little things could be better. the frying pan was miserable, the dishwasher did not work properly etc. Lidl and Aldi on the hill, about 1/2 mile away, a small expensive store in the street next door. A short walk to the old town and about 100 stairs. Pool quite small and refreshingly cool, sun loungers about 50 pcs. Beach towels can be rented from the hotel for a total stay of 5 €. The staff is friendly and very helpful.

Great budget hotel for those looking for a cheap getaway. Rooms were large, spacious and clean. However, due to location & price of hotel, expect a lot of noise from drunken groups returning from nights out... we were woken sererval times each night from 2am to 7am.

Sehr geräumige Zimmer und super freundliches Personal, das perfekt Englisch spricht und jederzeit für Fragen zur Verfügung steht! Die Lage ist super, nur 5 Minuten zu Fuß bis zum Altstadtkern für Menschen, die fit zu Fuß sind. Die Anlage an sich ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und müsste hier und da etwas erneuert werden.

No había habitación estándar y nos dieron una superior por el mismo precio. Las vistas, increíbles. La terraza, de película. Luz natural en cualquier lugar. Para mí inmejorable. Personal agradable. Decidimos quedarnos una noche mas. La ubicación muy buena. Cerca del centro pero sin ruidos para descansar, al menos en esta fecha. Por 5 euros puedes desplazarte en taxi al strip de Albufeira y conocer otro lugar.

Fab, fab, fab immaculate apartments, cleaned everyday by lovely staff. A real family and couples place. Due to the private ownership of some of the apartments any noisey, anti social behaviour is soon dealt with. GREAT

We needed a place to stay late one night, during off-peak season (late February). Got a steal, and stayed for less than $40, for 1 night - 2 couples. 1 couple in bedroom, the other on a pull-out bed in the living - which I wouldn't suggest. Price was great, but the place did have a hint of smoke smell. It did have a decent bathroom, and nice kitchen and patio. The views were actually quite beautiful when we woke up the next morning.

Good sized apartments. Lots of stairs and no heated kiddy pool for the little one. The amenities in the apartment are a bit old fashioned, the aircon did not work properly at first, we had the wrong remote.

Apartamento muy cerca del centro de Albufeira, diez minutos andando. Estuvimos en un apartamento superior (hay dos bloques diferentes), con un buen mobiliario, limpieza y comodidad. No es posible aparcar dentro, aunque en la descripción dice que sí. Totalmente recomendable.

Les + : - proche de la ville, la plage et des commerces- appartement spacieux- cuisine bien équipée- petite terrasse sympathique- ménage propreLes - :- petite piscine et froide- très mal insonorisé- trop de bruit dans le couloir le matin- salle de bain vétuste- accueil glacial- literie du Moyen Âge (lits à ressort !!)

La seul différence c est qu il y a des dames de chambres qui font le ménage deux fois par semaines.Tres bon séjour mais il y a une seul chose que je reproche a cette appart c est que la piscine est trop petite et très mal nettoyer

bei der Vorstellung im Internet wird immerwieder erwähnt, dass fast alle Zimmer Meerblick haben. man konnte es aber nicht explizit so buchen. auch ein Anruf hat keine Hilfe gebracht. dann habe ich extra noch eine teurere Kategorie gewählt in der Hoffnung, dass das ja dann wohl klappen wird mit dem Meerblick. Aber leider nicht!! das war sehr schade und wir haben uns deswegen kaum im Appartment aufgehalten.Sonst war es ein schönes Hotel und entsprach meinen erwartungen: z.B. groß genug für 4, Balkon, Lage.Vielleicht etwas renovierungsbedürftig: Vorhänge, Fußboden.

bien placé et très calme, ménage très succint. pas assez de vaisselle, nous étions deux, nous avions deux verres, pas de poele, deux couteaux, etc. un lave vaiselle est installé mais inutile puisque il fallait faire la vaiselle chaque fois par manque dustensiles. acceuil sympa.
