I believe they are working on doing some upgrades, when you 1st walk into the building is unkept. Reception is warm & friendly, she walked me to my room. Many stairs I recommend packing light, no lift. I thought the set up of the room was delightful & unique, Im a solo traveler so it being an open floor plan wasnt a bother. Reception is limited, I was gone most of the day so again this didnt affect me. Im not sure their check out policy, no one was at the desk when I left so I walked back to my room & left the key in there, you have an actual key not a key card & I didnt see a key drop. After I walked back down, she had shown up & was able to call me a taxi. All around it was a nice stay

Wir hatten ein Zimmer wo das WC ohne Abtrennungstüre im Zimmer war .Dies sollte bei der Zimmerbeschreibung vermerkt werden, da das nicht jedermans Sache ist. Es gibt dort auch andere Zimmer wo das WC separat ist .Die Zmmer sind mit schönen Details eingerichtet. Die Dachterasse einfach nur super. Auch sehr liebevoll ist das Frühstück. SEHR nettes Personal.

The view was spectacular, but with that came a lot of steps. Lisbon is a lot of steps any way. The breakfast was the best we had in over a dozen places in Europe. Fresh squeezed orange juice , fresh baked goods ,yogurt ,thick bacon cooked perfectly. generous portions. But the service even surpassed the food. I might have requested a room on a lower floor had I known no lift, but again, the view was the best so we were close to the top and appreciated it once the luggage was up.

The property is not well kept and looks nothing like the pictures. On the second to last day, a foot from the entrance to the room there was literally a large rat. The historic district that the property is in lends itself to this type of problem, but the hotel needs to be better maintained. it overall feels very dirty and I cannot recommend for anyone to stay here. Aside from location, there are no redeeming qualities.

Die Aussicht von der Terrasse war brillant. In den Zimmern haben Haken für die Handtücher gefehlt. Aber ansonsten top. Das Personal sehr nett. Man muss viele Treppen steigen.

Schöne Unterkunft mit perfektem Ausblick auf die Stadt. Sehr zentral gelegen und schick eingerichtet. Alles war sauber. Leider war das Frühstück etwas wenig aber sonst alles top!

Die Unterkunft zu finden war nicht einfach (eher schwierig), da keine kurze Beschreibung vorhanden war. Das Zimmer war geräumig. Der Zustand (vieles schlecht verarbeitet und nicht im erhaltenen Zustand) hat dem Preis in keiner Weise entsprochen. Keine Aufhängevorrichtungen für die Toiletten-Tücher. Zimmerböden waren nicht gesaugt worden.

If it was just the location and the staff - then the hotel almost deserves five stars. But the appointment and layout of the room was horrendous, and I was not offered another room. The room was designed by people in love – not with guests – but their own sense of chic. Result was a room, where I (at 188 cm) had to stand on a chair to enjoy the views of the city. The lightning was downright horrible and small things like hooks for the towels and electric outlets were missing. And possibly not all guests will appreciate not having a door at the toilet. Overall definitely not worth the money.

Very Charming Hotel with a fantastic view. Its a quite simple hotel and its quite Bad noise insulation between the rooms. But the charm and the view compensates. Staff is super friendly. The garden with one of the best views in Lisboa is really nice. We dient eat breakfast here so no comment on that. The Street below is quiet(sealed of) parking is possible in a parking house for 20 euro a night. We paid about 90 Euros a night for two pax. If u book in good time its possible cheaper.

From the outside it doesnt look like a hotel. Nice greeting when we checked in by the receptionist. There are a lot of stairs and no lift so be warned. Nice comfy room with a good size bed. Roof terrace offers a great view to the city. Open plan room so using the toilet with your partners watching is not ideal. Two friends sharing would be put off by this arrangements but as a married couple we were fine with it. Breakfast was simple but tasty. I would return for another visit

AWSOME!!!! Tricky to find but a true gem. The view from the roof top pool is spectacular, rooms nice and cozy. A little headsup as you dont have a real door to the toilet/shower. Sounds travels between apartments, but, you wont feel lonely then. Breakfast was extra ordinary - I loved everything they served us. Juice, tea/coffee, yoghurt with fruits, different bread, butter, marmelade, cheese, ham, scrambled eggs, bacon... Staff superfriendly and young.

Amazing location, but know you're expected to climb up the hill and at least 4 floors in the building's narrow staircase. Crew was generous and welcoming. Breakfast was great

The views on the rooftop are spectacular! And the hotel is very accessible to the downtown core. Rooms are spacious and clean. However the hospitality was not great. There was no clothing iron when asked at the front desk, it was broken. We also had difficulty with Uber pickups due to construction closed a portion of the street.

We had a great stay! Staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The room was very spacious and the bed was really comfy. The room was cleaned daily and was left in an excellent condition, thank you! Great views of Lisbon from the roof top terrace. The hotel is in a great location close to town and the castle but be warned there are quite a few steps. There wasn't a bar as advertised however there was a drinks service. Overall a lovely stay and excellent location. Would recommend. E & B UK

Worst experience ever, I received a room that looks nothing like the picture. The rooms smell really bad and basically I couldn't stay there for more than 45 min. Don't make the same

It's very special location with an eclectic experience. Be ready for 4 flights of stairs, but its worth it!

The view was the only good thing about staying at this hotel. Everything else was pretty bad and the hotel was definitely not as advertised on the Expedia website, very misleading by missing out key bits of information on the hotel details/amenities section of description....e.g. 141 steps from entrance to top, no doors on bathrooms (except 2 of the bedrooms) so you could see your room mates using bathroom. Lighting in stairwell did not work in some parts making it very treacherous. Pretty unhelpful staff. Poorly maintained and dangerous in parts (stairwell, steps outside up to terrace, slippery walkway across to upper bedrooms). Most taxis could not enter the road up to the hotel so we were dropped at bottom of steep, cobbled road with suitcases. Entrance to hotel was the buildings bin store....messy and smelly....very poor first impression! Would not recommend.

Die Aussicht von der Dachterrasse aus ist einmalig!!!Der kleine Pool ist leicht trüb, was schade ist. So lässt man höchstens die Füße reinbaumeln und genießt dabei die Aussicht. Für die engen Stiegen bis teilweise in den 5.Stock muss man fit sein!!! In den 4 Tagen wurde einmal unser Zimmer nicht gereinigt, Betten nicht gemacht. Overrated si overpriced pentru raportul calitate-pret. Nu exista lift (camerele sunt amplasate la etajul 4 al cladirii), camere ne-echipate corespunzator (fara minibar, fara frigider, o camera care are toaleta in spatiul de dormit, fara usa, balcon care nu poate fi folosit sau lipsa accesoriilor de baie). Partile bune sunt locatia centrala, vederea asupra intregului oras, piscina de pe acoperis, design-ul facut cu bun gust al intregului spatiu si oamenii de la receptie foarte amabili. Overall: in niciun caz de 4 stele.

Amazing small hotel. The best being the rooftop deck with the view and the small pool. This comes at a price though. After climbing up the castle hill, there are still 5 floors with no elevator to climb to get to the rooftop and rooms are on the 4th. Rooms are large and clean. Some small annoying details (very creaky door to the bathroom and terrible coffee for breakfast.) But overall it's lovely

Good comfy bed, rooftop garden and pool were fantastic. Issue for us was that our room (#10) had issues with lock/ door handle causing us to have to body check the door quite hard to get in, and to get out is even “funner” because you had to tug on the handle with full force about 10 times to get out. The staff upon checking us in told us they were waiting for a locksmith to have it fixed, but for the duration of our stay it was broken. It was concerning to be unable to get out quickly if there were an emergency evacuation of the building. We were willing to manage with the door since switching rooms was not offered (assume it was full) and we were not going to deal with switching hotels for our short stay at that point. Unfortunately the staff did not attempt to improve our stay or compensate us for the issue, which we did not ask for, but from working in the hospitality industry in my past i know that in a situation such as this it is important to acknowledge the issue and try and make it better in some other way.

There were good and bad things about the hotel, but bottom line is I would not stay there again nor recommend it. So point by point:-Good: the rooftop garden and pool has amazing views-Bad: it is an incredible hike (there is no elevator) to get there and the stairs are in deplorable shape. Near the top, the stairs are crumbling apart.-Good: the first lady who helped is at the check-in desk was sweet, amazing, and helpful.-Bad: we barely saw her, and instead got a pretty useless lady for most of our stay.-Bad: the breakfast is okay for the most part, but bad in that they serve you powdered orange juice, instant coffee, and a black tea bag is 2 euro. Better breakfast is cheap and plentiful in the area, skip this one.-Bad: this is more of a hostel with delusions of grandeur than a proper hotel. They do not appear to control the building, have no means of dealing with noise complaints in the middle of the night (they do not have a 24 hour desk or anybody to call), and the room layout it puzzling. The power outlets are in strange locations, numerous light switches that go nowhere, and our shower was so poorly sealed it flooded our room. There is also no sound insulation between rooms, so crying babies, blaring music, people arguing, you get it all. There is no mini fridge or table of sufficient height to eat on for snacks. The lighting was poor and the room had a cave feeling to it.-Good: the Wi-Fi worked pretty well.For the price, pick somewhere else to go.

The hotel was not as represented in the pictures. You are greeted by the bins on entry to the hotel. There were eight flights of stairs to access the room. The carpet on them was ripped in several places presenting a potential tripping hazard. The pool was merely a plastic liner and the decking round it was broken. The sunbeds were old and discoloured. There was absolutely no sound-proofing in the room and it had no plug in the sink.Additionally there are currently building works going on in the apartment next door. Hammering on the walls and hammer drilling from 8.30 in the morningone morning and 9.30 on another.

Toller Ausblick, sehr authentisch, aber modern

Bel hôtel bien situé, magnifique vue, petit déjeuner copieux. Les points négatifs maintenant... Le jour de notre arrivée il y a eu une fuite au niveau de la piscine qui s'est littéralement vidée dans les escaliers extérieurs. Nous avons eu une infiltration d'eau dans la salle de bain (de l'eau goutait du plafond). Plus tard une décorations murales est tombée sur notre lit, heureusement en journée et nous n'étions pas là. Je me suis rendu compte aussi que la chambre d'en face avait une vue sur notre lit à travers la fenêtre qui n'avait pas de rideau, très agréable en soirée... En fin de séjour nous avons été obligé de réclamer le papier toilettes car il n'avait pas été rechargé. Et enfin je n'ai eu aucune réponse de la direction après mes remarques par email alors que j'avais déjà signalé ces problèmes durant le séjour. Bref, j'attendais plus d'un hôtel à 140€ la nuit (nous logions dans une des suites) et au moins des excuses pour la faible qualité des prestations.

We did not pay close attention to that bit and ended up hauling our luggage 4 floors.. the rooms were quite comfortable.. there is inadequate lighting in the room.. It does have a garden rooftop.. that has to be the best part of the hotel.. breakfast is simple yet delicious..

Amazing view, good location, great reception staff and breakfast is fab. Only downside are rooms are a little noisy (we were in a suite), but not a deal breaker.

Ein furchtbares Hotel. Wir haben die Superior Suite gebucht, die sich als dunkler Dachboden herausgestellt hat. Abends ist es dermaßen dunkel, dass man in dem Zimmer nicht lesen kann. Zudem verfügt das Zimmer über keine Abgrenzung oder Tür zum Badezimmer. Und das beste zum Abschluss: Auf der Terrasse lag eine tote Ratte...

Wir haben die Superior Suite im Garden Rooftop gebucht und uns wirklich sehr darauf gefreut. Die Bilder hatten uns online sehr überzeugt. Aber leider wurden wir extrem enttäuscht. Die Suite ist leider nur ein angestrichener Dachboden. Der Raum hat sehr niedrige Dachschrägen. Beispielsweise kann man sich im “Bad“ nicht im Spiegel ansehen. Ein Badezimmer gibt es nicht. Die Dusche ist mitten im Raum und die Toilette ist direkt daneben. Von der Toilette aus kann man das ganze Zimmer im Spiegel sehen und auch beobachtet werden. Eine Tür gibt es nicht. Durch diese offene Gestaltung roch es die ganze Zeit nach Abwasser. Sehr unangenehm. Außerdem gibt es keine ausreichende Beleuchtung. Abends ist es nicht möglich zu lesen oder sich einen Reiseführer anzusehen. Das gilt auch für das Badezimmer. Das Personal hatte uns nach einer Beschwerde versprochen umgehend für mehr Licht zu sorgen. Dies ist aber nicht passiert. Aus den Fenstern kann man nur hinausschauen, wenn man sich auf einen Stuhl stellt. Man fühlt sich deshalb die ganze Zeit sehr beengt und erschlagen. Es ist im ganzen Hostel extrem hellhörig. Wir haben alles von unserer Nachbarn gehört, wirklich alles. Der Rooftop ist auf zwei Ebenen über viele Treppen zu erreichen. Auf der ersten Ebene gibt es einen kleinen “Pool“, der sehr ungepflegt und verdreckt ist. Auf der zweiten Eben kann man toten Ratten begegnen. Also passt auf euch und Kinder auf. Für uns sah das sehr nach Rattengift aus. Für das Geld eine absolute Frechheit und eine herbe Enttäuschung.

Lovely boutique hotel up from the city... our room had an amazing view and quick access to the rooftop garden with pool and lots of seating. The view is breath taking. Service was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was pretty decent. Overall great experience for one night.

great location (a few minutes to the centre).... went there with cab, no problem. rooms and bathrooms are big. the rooftop with the small pool are amazing. had a great view from the room. friendly staff, cool reception... with served breakfast.

Beautiful location but a bit difficult to reach for cabs and also on foot. Be ready to climb lots of stairs. The excellent service and the view absolutely make up for that!
