Wonderful surf spot! Nevertheless they were too much poeple with us in the water and the monitors were friendly but not really helpfull with the waves. They were pushed me on the wrong waves to get as many people as possible with them, but if you're only three monitors please don't take 30 peoples with you is absolutely unprofessional! Wunderbarer Surfspot! Trotzdem waren sie zu viele Leute mit uns im Wasser und die Monitore waren freundlich, aber nicht wirklich hilfreich bei den Wellen. Sie wurden auf die falschen Wellen getrieben, um so viele Leute wie möglich mitzunehmen, aber wenn Sie nur drei Monitore sind, nehmen Sie bitte nicht 30 Leute mit, das ist absolut unprofessionell!

The staff working there were very friendly. I had an accident and I asked for help. They made me a big favor helping me, but at the end the owner came and made me pay for that favor. His business model is just make money money money, without considering any exeption. In addition, discussing about the missunderstanding favor/payment problem, he started to shout with nacionality coments, regarding my spanish nacionality and that I will never be a portuguese. As if being portuguese he would have made me the favor. So be careful where you rent the board, I would choose another school. There are three in the same spot, with very good material and professors. So try to rent to nice people and humanity will win!! The place is amazing, very nice waves, and we had and incredible sunset while surfing! _____________________________________________________________________ Answering the Owner reply: I am sorry, but I cannot be agree with your arguments. I went to the shop asking for help because I had an accident, not for renting. I was not interested in renting anything. If I knew you where renting me, I would have gonne to my car and fix the board. In part, was my mistake, to do not make you understant propertly I was asking for a FAVOR. If you do not want to make favors to people, because you have a bussines and you want to make money over people needs, I also understand it, it is your choice of running your bussines. The problem here, it's you should have set a price before going to the water. To be sure that you were going to charge me, and I was not being help. However, I did not write the comment for the missunderstanding helping/renting. What made me write this comment, is in how you deal problems and how you were shouting and treating me. This behaivour is actually reflected in you reply, so the readers of the review can see your ironic, nacionalistic and sarcastic comments. Maybe some people would be agree with you, and maybe with me. But the good thing is that people would be more aware to who rents the boards. And that is where we life, in a world where everything you say, it can go to the net and everyone can listen it.

Definitely recommend this place. Very chill, quick, and easy spot to rent a board and wetsuit. 20 euros for 2 hours, 25 euros for the entire day. The waves here are very good too. Just be careful of the local surfers in the water, some of them are not very friendly.

Première fois sur un surfboard. Super belle expérience. Bel endroit ou les vagues sont parfaites pour apprendres. Professeurs passionnés. J'ai bien aimé l'initiation au surf avec Blue Ocean!

Escola de Surf 5 estrelas, toda a equipa muito prestável e a praia é o melhor local para aprendizagem. Para quem quiser alugar, existe muita variedade tanto pranchas de aprendizagem como high performance.

Surf at this school was disappointing! Prices are expensive, all the courses are full, the bed rock in the sea is dangerous i do not recommand even if you are a professionnel!

A minha experiência com a blue Ocean já não é de hoje, já sou cliente já faz alguns anos, quando vou a portugal já sei que posso deixar minhas pranchas em casa e não é necessário gastar dinheiro no despacho de pranchas, sei que quando chego a Ericeira posso ir à Ribeira d’Ilhas e ter muitas opções de pranchas de alta performance para alugar, e todos os anos tem pranchas novas, obrigado Ulisses, logo estou de volta à Ericeira, e parabéns pelo atendimento de seus funcionários com os clientes. Obrigado e até já.

Best to start this new year in Ericeira blue ocean surf school at Ribeira d’ilhas beach. Great spot,great waves.This guys have top gear,the best quiver i saw to rent,.highperformance boards and great surf school.My cousin took a few surf classes and realy enjoy. Also they have a great bar for your meals and drinks. I recommend this place! Thanks to Ulisses and the rest of the team,i will return in March. Gui

Nice experiment but the sea floor is too dangerous on this beach!! The team is cool, prices are more expensive than eslewhere but it's still ok!

Já alguns dias na Ericeira,descobri uma escola de surf (Blue Ocean Surf School)com otimo material para alugar,pranchas praticamente novas,boas marcas..firehire,lost,go fish,nunca tinha visto este tipo de pranchas para alugar,e preços rasuaveis. Minha namorada aproveitou para ter umas aulas,adorou. A escola está situada na praia da Ribeira Dilhas,e tem ondas para todos os niveis. Adorei e recomendo.... Obrigado ao team da Blue Ocean. De certeza voltarei.

I rented my gear from here few times. Good and flexible service plus really nice variety of boards. Also what I noticed in the water that their teachers really taught the pupils well and the groups were not overly big either.

Ulisses Reis and the whole team at Blue Ocean were AWESOME!! They helped 11 girls learn and become confident at surfing, offered us a private lesson for the whole group. So informative about the best times to go surfing and where depending on confidence. I would 100% recommend them to anyone wanting a great price and a great surfing experience.

This surfschool is really great. Ulisses and Carina take good care, the equipment is perfect and the instructors are professional and very nice. We had a wonderfull time and our daughters cannot wait to surf again!

Fabulous surf school expertly run by Ulisses. Our monitor Tarik was ever so patient with us and surely, we progressed! The surf spot is exceptional: world surf reserve. You and mother nature. Can't recommend it enough. Will be back!

Rent the equipment yourselves instead. No instructing but instead lots of waiting time. And way too large groups (we were 9 with one instructor). Had a lesson two days ago with 7 essencia - they were great and they will be my choice next time. Update Comment to below reply from Ulisses Reis. I just saw your rather provoking answer from my review in August. Here are my comments: It was YOUR INSTRUCTOR/CLASS I was criticizing – not the conditions nor the board (but I guess you read what you like to read). Due to too many people attending your course - I could choose between your largest beginner board or a fish – I chose the fish (my choice and you did not hear me complain about that). Stating that I am lying saying that there were 9 people per instructor tells more about you than me – and apparently you did not follow the law that day (max 7 per teacher according to you). Your comment about the“wave machine” actually reveals how unserious you are – always a good idea to take your customers a little serious if you are a serious provider (no matter how old your surf school is). Thank you for being concerned about safety – I did not feel unsafe that day but if the instructor was worried he showed it in a strange way (being busy catching waves himlself) – and don’t worry there will not be a next time. Perhaps we were just unlucky that day – but your answer actually tells me the opposite. By the way I told you all the above in person after the course – but at that time you had no answer.

Very conditions, the material is in very good shape and very professional teachers! I recomend that surf school in ericeira!
