Great menu for lunch at 16€ which is very inexpensive for the dishes.
Outside of the menu, prices are more common for the place.

Heerlijk gegeten, mooie opmaak en goede wijn. Er was iets mis gegaan met de bestelling maar dit werd keurig hersteld. De prijs/kwaliteitsverhoging is echt top. De fooi konden wij niet met pin betalen maar alleen cash. We komen hier zeker nog eens terug!

This is a very great place to eat. I met the bar tender at another restaurants and he recommended it to us. The next day we checked it out. Great decor and even better food for a reasonable price. The Monday Lunch special is great. Get the Tuna Steak with a “salad” and Orange Cake!

Очень посредственное место. Персонал старается, атмосфера приятная, но еда на вкус очень посредственная. Не умение готовить умело прикрывают подачей, у блюд нет общего вкуса, просто навалили все в одну тарелку и красиво украсили.

Went for a dinner with my wife. Had a magnificent Xerem to share and a portion of grouper each. The grouper sauce (tomato based) was fantastic. The waiters were attentive, smiling and engaging throughout the night. It was worth every penny spent!

My mum and I visited yesterday evening for her birthday...the staff could not have been more pleasant and were dismayed to know it was her birthday and I hadn't told them!
The description says cosy and casual but I don't think it gives the restaurant the kudos it deserves.
Each course (evening meal) was beautifully served, presented and executed. We had carpaccio tuna/scallops to start and turbot/ fillet steak for main. Absolutely loved both dishes, and wine really well priced compared to other restaurants we had visited nearby too, which we initially thought might be where they make a killing! No, very favourable all round. The surroundings, in the old town, and the interior are superior to most similarly described restaurants in Faro. Please visit yourself if you want a treat that is high end but not stuffy. Thank you Faz Gostos, happy memories made here x

Delightful setting, friendly staff and good food. Our meal suffered from a mix up with the starter order and the choice of wine but one the whole a good experience and we would return if the opportunity arose in the future.

Now my favorite in Faro...after the tragic closure of Camane! The menu is quite varied with adventurous forays (prawn with fresh mango), but also has excellent classics like xerem. The service is good and so is the wine list.
A very comfortable and spacious space to enjoy a meal, even with a large group.

Magnífico restaurante, con una carta sugerente. Es, casi con total seguridad, el mejor de Faro.
Algo más caro que la media. El servicio es muy eficiente. El personal es amable. Tienen menú del día, a mejor precio. Hemos vuelto por allí varias veces y aseguramos la regularidad. Totalmente recomendable.

Tinha muitas expectativas para este jantar, mas a comida era apenas razoável. O serviço deixou muito a desejar, com funcionários desatentos e os preços desajustados aos pratos servidos. Para um restaurante deste nível, ao servir pratos de peixe e com os talheres colocados na mesa após o pedido, seria normal a colocação de talheres de peixe, em vez dos pesadíssimos talheres de carne. O restaurante é lindíssimo, falta melhorar o serviço e rever os preços. A fotografia é de um suposto risotto, que não era mais do que um arroz malandro empapado, feito com arroz para risotto.

Un régal haut de gamme, avec les plats typiques de la région. On était une grande compagnie (16 personnes), pourtant le service fut impec, les plats bien présentés et en plus copieux ! Poissons, coquillages, viandes tout frais, de bonne qualité, cuisson parfaite... Rien à redire, il s'agit apparemment de la meilleure table dans la vila Adentro de Faro. Même la musique était bien, cadre agréable même pour un verre de vin.

By FAR one of the best restaurants in the old town of Faro, Portugal and probably also along the entire Algarve coast line. Starters, main dishes and desert were just brilliant! The service was amazing with great recommendations and international experiences waiters. And the absolute highlight was the "Creme Brûlée" - if you ever go there, have it! Don't miss it! Have it! Believe me ... it's gonna fill u with sunshine and happiness!

Fui em 2015 a este respeitado e luxuoso restaurante de Faro, junto ao seu majestoso castelo. É um restaurante algo escondido, com poucos acessos e pouco estacionamento gratuito local; mais vale deixar o carro longe num local gratuito e apreciar uma longa caminhada até lá.
O atendimento é algo de estarordinário, que até se estranha; como eu nunca tinha experimentado jantar num local deste luxo antes, não estava nada à espera daquele tratamento "especial". O sabor da comida estava espetacular, desde as entradas às inagualaveis sobremesas!
Recomendo vivamente, mas atenção que esta qualidade paga-se...

Absolutely delicious food. I had the Salmon and cuttlefish ink linguini which had a brilliant depth of flavour, those with me had the aubergine and the salted cod which were delicious. That was not all though! The chocolate fondant pudding was delicious, it used dark chocolate so the sweetness was balanced well. The staff were lovely and very curious about how we found the food. Highly recommend!

Cuisine et accueil super. Dommage que le serveur nettoie la porte vitrée quand nous sommes à table. La mousse au chocolat n'avait rien d'aérien, plutôt collante et très sucrée au sucre poudre non fondu qui craque sous les dents.

Excelente descubrimiento en Faro. Entramos de casualidad. Restaurante en pleno centro histórico, en una casa restaurada con vigas de madera, muy bonita.
Trato de los camareros excelente, en todo momento nos asesoraron sobre qué pedir y también sobre el vino para la comida.
Espectacular la cazuela de lubina con gambas y almejas y el bacalao con vieira.
Muy recomendable.
La próxima vez que pase por Faro pararemos para comer en Faz Gostos.

Fraco atendimento. Os empregados parecem baratas tontas... muito tempo à espera. Tivemos sempre que estar a pedir se podiam trazer a carta, se já podiamos pedir, se podiam levantar a mesa. Depois de largarem o vinho e a água na mesa, nunca mais voltaram a tocar nas garrafas. vieram os pratos principais e nem sequer tiraram as coisas das entradas já vazias. Colocaram uma mesa ao lado para colocarem o vinho, estava suja de vinho tinto, mas nem por isso a limparam. Espaço é lindo e muito elegante, pena que o serviço não esteja ao nível que aparenta. Preço da comida demasiado elevado para a qualidade apresentada.

Nos quedamos en el restaurante por su apariencia, estrella michelín y recomendación de TripAdvisor. Pedimos menú a 16 euros el cual incluye 2 primeros, 4 segundos, 2 postres, bebida, pan y café (a elegir cada opción), el menú es tal cual, al precio no se le puede pedir mucho pero el servicio decepcionante y eso que el restaurante no estaba muy concurrido, alomejor era porque eramos españoles y no nos entendían, la bebida han tardado hasta el 2° plato en traerla, el postre lo tuvimos que pedir ya que nos retiraron el plato sin preguntarnos por él. En fin menú dentro de lo esperado pero servicio muy muy desesperante aún habiendo pocos clientes y bastante personal.

Horrível, para um restaurante estrela michelin. O serviço é péssimo com pessoas a gritar pior que montanheiros, a comida é de baixa qualidade (nem as batatas fritas eram boas) com preço elevado, não sabem distinguir uma sangria de frutos vermelhos de uma sangria tropical, pedimos carne muito bem e ainda conseguem andar pela sala a reclamar dos colegas e do serviço destes. Sítio a não voltar.

Excellent service and great food. The lunch menu from 12 to 16 EUR is definitely a steal for a Michelin restaurant. Fried fish of Wednesday’s daily option was not that special but will definitely recommend the bief steak. Great atmosphere as well.

Nous avons passé le réveillon 2019 et tout était parfait, aussi nous sommes revenus avec d'autres amis pour 2020, les serveurs et le repas très très bien comme l'année passée, par contre le joueur de saxo jouait trop fort (celui de l'année passée était parfait) on ne pouvait pas discuter avec nos amis à moins de crier, la climatisation était trop froide. Une musique d'ambiance doit rester douce et non pas ressembler à une musique de boîte de nuit, c'est très désagréable pour un repas. Reviendrons nous pour le prochain réveillon? Faz Gostos ofrece raciones generosas de cocina local con preparaciones correctas. Aunque el precio es un poco caro para el Algarve, el local es encantador en pleno centro de Faro a cuatro pasos de todo. Es, sencillamente, un sitio donde parar para comer sin equivocarse pero lejos de ser memorable. Las ideas son buenas pero parecen fallar en la ejecución.

Went here on Saturday evening. The service and the meal was fantastic.
For starters we had the below picture, the crab in a cone which was delicious and best eaten by hand like an ice cream cone.
For mains we had the chef's octopus and the grupa with rice and clams. Both dishes were excellent and we followed our waiters recommendation on the wine which was definitely a good shout.
Deserts, we went with ice cream and cheesecake both were good.
All in all my one criticism would be the music, it was strange sitting in a Michelin star restaurant with RnB playing all night long. If they'd change their music to something more relaxing the meal would have been more enjoyable.

While walking around and looking at restaurant reviews on TripAdivosor, we noticed this restaurant to have very good reviews and decided to treat ourselves to a rather expensive meal.
We took the suggestions of the waiter and ordered 2 starters and 2 main meals according to his recommendations.
Here are my generous ratings for this restaurant
The ambience: 5/5
The food: 2/5
The service: 4/5
Value for money: 1/5
The quality and taste of the food was just not up to standards. I have eaten far better testing similar dishes for a fraction of the price at restaurants in Quarteira.
I was actually left a little embarrassed as I wanted to impress my wife with Michelin standard food, but left totally dismayed.
I believe since the amazing reviews it has had, they've had a change in management and also the chefs. All the dishes reviewed on TripAdvisor are no longer in their current menu and overall they've really messed up a restaurant that seems to been great before.
I could have given it a 3 stars because of the nice ambience and good quality of service, but paying that much for poor quality food in an lovely ambience would be unfair to anyone reading this review.
Recommendations to the owners: Do NOT put anything on the menu that you have not put through a rigorous tasting and refining process or your Michelin star isn't going to last very long (if you still have it).

El local es admirable, encantador, acogedor y lujoso, además está situado en el centro histórico. Es otra cultura en sabores, porque intento entender por qué una pierna de cordero lechal esté algo dura, el pulpo apenas tenga el sabor intenso que esperaba y las almejas tengan un sabor metalico que no procede. Un servicio profesional, pero no perfecto. Lo mejor, las instalaciones y su entorno.

El primer día pasamos por delante sin atrevernos a entrar, ya que es un lugar elegante, acogedor y con dos estrellas Michelín. Pensamos que debía ser carisimo... Hoy hemos saboreado su cocina, un menú en el que por 16€ tomas dos platos, bebida, postre y pan. Todo servido minuciosamente, con una presentación y unos sabores increíbles...

Bien placé dans la vieille ville, superbe salle même si nous étions en terrasse et plats qui se veulent gastro et très bien cuisinés (j'ai pris un risotto d asperges avec langouste).
La fausse note vient du service. Nous aviosn pris un cocktail en apero puis les plats avec bouteille de vin.
Nous n'avions pas fini nos cocktails que les plats arrivaient deja (bon sur ce point c est limite dans un restaurant) et pas de vin. j'appelle le serveur qui voyait nos cocktails pas terminés et ne comprenait pas qu'on réclamait notre vin.
Au final quand nous avons eu le vin, les plats étaient tièdes, le serveur s'est excusé.
La deuxième fausse note c'est que le maitre des rangs est venu nous voir en fin de repas pour s'excuser également , a appelé le serveur et l'a sermoné devant nous. Je n'ai pas compris l'utilité de cela.
Malgré cette fausse note c'était quand même très bon

Tardan HORAS en atenderte para que, al final, pidas algo y te lo traigan completamente al revés de como lo habías pedido. No lo recomiendo.

Uno de los mejores del Algarve portugueses, una buena carta muy variada lo que más me gusto fue la zapateira todo lo demás muy bueno tiene acceso a sillas de ruedas, a sesenta km de la frontera con España por Ayamonte autopista poco xuidada

We read the reviews and were not disappointed! There was not one complaint of the food because it was impeccable! The bar was also well stocked and service was on point! I would happily return for the cocktails alone! The staff were fantastic with a great vibe!

Uma excelente esperiencia gastronômica Algarvia. Adorei o cone de marisco; a Caçarola de robalo, onde todos os sabores se conjugam sem se sobrepor; e a fruta local - figo,num sobremesa fantástica. Um local sofesticado e confortável onde se "faz o gosto" a quem a visita. Parabéns!

Fantastiskt trevligt ställe med god mat och mycket bra personal. Åt först ceviche och därefter kött och allting smakade mycket bra. Personalen var mycket observant och vänlig. Hade vi stannat längre hade vi gärna gått dit igen.

Beautiful steak meal on our last night in Faro. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Food was beautifully presented and delicious. Lovely ambience too. Not the cheapest meal we had - but very special and good value.

The decor and very professional way the staff conducted themselves would lead you to believe the food here was of a particularly high standard. Unfortunately the food in no way matched the price tag. There is much better for much cheaper in Faro. My two seafood dishes in no way echoed the fine fish products the Algarve has on offer and I was extremely sick after the meal. Shame for the food to let down a very nice establishment.

Very dissappointing - I'm confused as to why this is in the michelin guide. The food was pretty bland and unseasoned. The salads that came with some of the dishes was crude and unnecessary. All in all it was a very mediocre experience - not at all what I've come to expect of restaurants with michelin standards, far from it.

Très déçue du plat par rapport au prix demandé. C'est bon mais sans plus et bien trop cher pour ce que c'est.
Ne surtout pas accepter le pain : il vous sera servi avec une coupelle d'huile facturée en plus , soit 2,5 pour un minuscule morceau de pain et de l'huile !

Wonderful experience, food was subtle, delicate and incredibly tasty. Service was excellent and friendly, and the room we were sat in was beautiful (very high wooden ceiling, looking like an old barn or something similar). It felt like one of those great restaurants on the rise, where you can still eat for a decent price. Don't miss on the opportunity while being in Faro! A trip's highlight!

The food was excellent, the personnel nice and professional. The bill was a bit higher than expected but all in all it was worth it. The only negative thing is that we were offered hummus and salmon patè and then they charged for it.

Péssima, ficamos 5 pessoas 35 minutos no restaurante e não fomos atendidos. Chamamos garçom que fingiu que não nos viu. Quando um finalmente veio trouxe os cardápios. Depois passaram mais 10 minutos, e ninguém voltou. Tentamos então chamar novamente o garçom e fingiram que não nos viram. Levantamos então é fomos embora.

High price for Portugal, but unfortunately one if the worst dinners. Starter of goat cheese was great (that's what the extra star is for), but then the fish and pork dish were both terrible. Fish was deep fried even though marked as filet in the menu and came with fried vegetables. Not even crunchy, but soft... pork was dry. The chocolate cake for a dessert was very dry and the ice cream on top colored artificially and overly sweet. In the beginning, service was okay, but then they forgot about us through the course of dinner. Way too expensive and anyway, we had much better dinners that also came at a third of this price. Thought this would be a nice dinner to end our vacation, but we got disappointed!

Very nice restaurant. We bumped into this place accidentally because it was pretty late and nothing else was working. The place is very nicely decorated. The staff was very polite and friendly. They recommended us excellent wine. The food was so delicious amd tasty prepared with fresh, local ingredients.We went with fish menu and we haven't regret our choice. It was perfect finding for our first night in Faro.

From the white table cloth, to the excellent service given by the waiters, the experience was amazing. The food could be better, though. It was good, but not at the same level of the service and the appearance of the restaurant. The price was lower than of the other restaurants in the vicinity. A place to go if you care for a bit of luxury in the way you are treated.

Went there for a group event with a fixed pre determined menu, so I didn't have a chance to see the regular selection of dishes.
The served food was fancy and well prepared with good presentation, and the staff very courteous and welcoming.
Price was high for what what we got, but overall a nice experience.

Excellent food by real cooking - no convenience food, you feel the potato in the mash.. and the service could not be better. All languages spoken - in perfection. For lunch, the price can not be beaten! Whenever we are in Faro we are to be found here. Actually I should not write such good reviews, the place could become overcreowed.... but the owner merits good business.

We ate from the lunch menu today and both the food, service and ambiance were excellent: a main of hake finger fillets in a bread and garlic mash delicious and filling and the lemon mousse was sublime. Three courses a glass of wine, water and a coffee for 15€ and white linen on the table and comfortable seats is serious value for money. If you happen to be in Faro this is highly recommended.
