Hotel on 5th floor with no elevator. So pack lightly! Room included a small shower but the shower head was broken. One day we had no hot water. No toilet in the room and no air conditioning, only a fan. You get what you pay for. Was okay for 2 nights stay but any longer consider somewhere else. Staff spoke no english which made check in difficult. Location is great however.

Sehr zentral gelegen. 4 Stock. Hatte kleines EZ m romantischem Blick in einen Hinterhof gleich neben der Etagentoilette, welches interessante Geräusche bot. Trotzdem: Sehr sauber. Kleine Küche. Nur was für junge u fitte Leute. Etagentoiletten und Dusche in einem kleinen Raum.

I stayed 2 nights in the Pensao Aljubarrota and it suited my needs perfectly, I do hope to stay there again in the future, it might not suit everyones tastes as it is rather old fashioned, the stairs are very steep and its a long climb to the 4th floor and there are no TVs in the rooms, but it is very clean, and has a very handy kitchen where guests can cook their own meals, the location is very central and only a short walk from trams, metro, Rossio railway station etc., there are lots of places to eat nearby and there is a McDonnalds a short walk away with free wifi.This hotel is very reasonably priced and the staff are super friendly and a pleasure to deal with, to sum up the rooms are basic, but it is clean, the location is central and the staff are brilliant.Philip

On the plus side it is cheap and the location is perfect. The downside was the shower head was broken and no toilet in the room and one night we didn’t even have any hot water. The guest house is also on the 4th or 5th floor with no elevator which is a hassle if you have a large suitcase. It was ok for a couple of nights stay or those on a budget. No air con but a fan provided in the room and a small terrace with chairs.

This hotel was almost like coming home.Yes; the room was small, but we dont need much. And the balcony french windows open on to one of the main shopping streets in the old part of downtown Lisbon. We spoke agreeably every day with the friendly staff here who explained, among other things, that no; I didnt break the french door . . . the way you turn the handle determines whether its a door to the balcony or a tilt-in window for ventilation. The kitchen is open 24/7. Everything we needed was there . . . fresh fruit, dishes, cookware. Grocery stores are everywhere within a block or two, and we even found refrigerated pasteurized milk (as opposed to packaged sterilized) within three block. Were within half a dozen blocks of the oldest operating bookstore in the world, the Metro, even a railway station. This place is great. The in-suite toilet is a little cramped, but its no worse than on an airliner. We are both happy campers. Theres no elevator, and seventy-four steps is a workout, but Im getting trimmer, and we walk everywhere anyway. If this apartment were in our price range, wed seriously think about buying it to live in. Seriously. This place is great. Oh, and street entertainment and restaurants are EVERYWHERE. Wifi works perfectly.

Amazing location - couldnt be better. Arrived to a very warm welcome from host, Luis. He was very friendly and make me feel at home straight away. I would definitely come again and recommend to other!

Location is perfect. Luis was so friendly and helpful. I saw some bad comments regarding shower and wifi but it’s updated! I had hot shower and WiFi worked fine in the room too. I would definitely recommend and will come back again!

Excellent accueil. Grande gentillesse du proprietaire qui est ouvert et desireux de satisfaire sa clientele. Concept interessant avec possibilite de cuisiner. Des fruits, du cafe, du the sont offerts a tout moment. Un appartement ancien et authentique. Un balcon agreable. En plein coeur de la ville grouillante et animee. Tres bon rapport qualite/prix. Mais attention, il faut grimper les quatre etages a pied.

Я много раз была в Лиссабоне и расположения лучше,чем здесь у меня еще не было. Очень хорошие аппартаменты.Но! Есть пара но: комнатки маленькие,в них же находятся биде и умывальник. Тесно и как-то все так расположено,что я при небольшом росте и вполне стройной фигуре чувствовала себя слоником в посудной лавке. Но #2 взимают дополнительный налог,о котором становится известно только при заселении. Нигде более я не сталкивалась с этой доп.пошлиной. Будьте готовы выложить 13+ евро. Есть гостинная,автоматы со снеками,все необходимые принадлежности для комфортного пребывания. Рядом море кафе и ресторанов и великолепная Площадь Коммерции. Счастливого отдыха!

Lieu très bien situé au centre-ville, chambre calme, grande cuisine ainsi que salon tv à disposition. Salle de bains en comun très grande aussi. Prix correct.

Cuarto piso sin ascensor y toda la noche sin dormir por el picor de las sábanas. No merece la pena ahorrar en un hotel céntrico si no puedes dormir.

The place is great has 2 bathrooms 1 kitchen,terrace garden has heaters,sharing fridge ,hot water ,the doors opens with a chip like car alaram system and is in the middle of city 3min walk from rossio station and the room prices are great I got an individual room with toilet inside for 23€ +tax the total was 26€ I like it

Hostal super céntrico de Lisboa. Perfecto. Todo está cerca. El personal muy atento y dispuestos a ayudar. Bastante limpio. Elegimos una habitación con baño privado, pero éste era minúsculo, que a penas cabe una persona. Está ubicado en la 4ªplanta de edificio sin ascensor.. uff.

Accueil chaleureux, le personnel prévenant et serviable. Ma chambre est grande avec un lavabo, un bidet, une douche, un lit double, une armoire et 2 tables de chevet, j'ai la chance d'avoir un balconnet avec une table et 2 chaises, très agréable. Les WC et les autres douches sont communs ainsi que la pièce à vivre et la cuisine équipée d'un frigo, micro ondes, toaster.... Il y a des fruits frais, du café, du thé et des biscuits à disposition. L'hôtel est propre, bien situé Baixa chiado, proche de toutes commodités, très très pratique car il est possible de faire beaucoup de visites à pied. Je recommande ce lieu et j'y retournerai !

Luis,the person who welcomed me was a helpful and very kind person. The view was very beautiful, on the right the castle San George and the comfortable room. The reception was great.

I had a small single room here with shared bathroom for a couple of days. In my room was also a sink, so it was very convenient even with the shared bathroom. It was cleaned every day and toilet products were also offered for free. They have shared kitchen that you can use with fridge. The service was very kind and the price was good. The location of the hostel is directly in the city centre, so I was coming back a lot, to leave my shopping here or grab a jacket or something. The only downside I experienced was that there is no elevator and the hostel us located on the 4th floor. I was coming with a big suitcase, so be prepared to climb some stairs.

I imagine this to have been a very typical old-style Portuguese property where you will have tiles on walls and a sink in your room. But the property was very clean and I slept really well at night. Plus it is in the very middle of Baxia, and you cannot stay at a more interesting place while in Lisbon!

Staff was friendly and very helpful. The kitchen, Salas, wc shower and room are well maintained and spotless :-) however theres no AC. Prepare for cardio exercise as it is located on the 4th floor and no elevator. Had a nice stay here :-)

Cosy place, great location to explore old area by foot. Nice little balcony. Only thing if you have a heavy bag note you have to climb up 4 flights of stairs.

I had a comfortable 3-night guesthouse stay that felt cosy like visiting grandmas house back in time. The reception and service was friendly and the Portuguese tiling and furnishings full of character. Best I loved the central location for walking around the beautiful old town, the main shopping streets lined with restaurants and to the waterfront. The city views from the balconies are very pretty and the location is super quiet because there is no vehicular traffic below. My single room was small with a sink (shared toilet and shower in hallway), and a cooling fan, heater and extra blankets that I didnt need in July. A basic kitchen (fridge, microwave) and sitting room with tv are shared, and free tea/coffee with biscuits are provided. The free wifi worked well and there were several outlets in the room for charging devices. I would recommend asking for a room with a balcony and bringing light luggage only, as the guesthouse is on the 4th floor and there is no lift in the building.

John was quite helpful! Also provided great tips. The bathrooms couldve been cleaner, as Gisela was constantly cleaning, but just the amount of people using it did not help her or the maintenance of the cleanliness. Great location though!

Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Der Manager hat uns mitten in der Nacht persönlich empfangen (obwohl es einen Zugangscode gab) und alles gezeigt und war auch sonst sehr um das Wohl der Gäste bemüht. Er hat sogar unsere Bordkarten ausgedruckt, weil ich nicht sicher war, ob die auf dem Handy funktionieren. Die Unterkunft ist sehr zentral im Stadtteil Baixa nur wenige Minuten vom Rossio und der U-Bahn-Station Baixa-Chiado gelegen - direkt in den Einkaufsstraßen mit jeder Menge Restaurants. Unser Zimmer war sauber, allerdings ein bisschen klein, wenn man mit viel Gepäck unterwegs ist und der Schrank ohne Fächer und schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Für den Preis haben wir aber auch nicht erwartet, dass alles perfekt ist. Wir hatten einen kleinen hübschen Balkon, Dusche, Waschbecken und Bidet im Zimmer. Zusätzlich gibt es eine Küche und einen Aufenthalts-/Fernsehraum, der von allen genutzt werden kann sowie zwei Bäder mit Dusche und Toilette. Es gibt immer frisches Obst, Kaffee, Kekse (gegen Trinkgeld) und einen Kühlschrank. Achtung: Die Pension liegt im 4. Stock und es gibt keinen Fahrstuhl - also ist Schleppen angesagt.

Bruno and Sandra at the front desk were totally fantastic and helpful! The place was a bit rundown and the neighborhood was central but not so charming. We didnt know wed have a very long walk up to the 4th floor (which felt like the 8th). Best coffee ever!

Boa pousada pra quem quer economizar. Foi confortável e o banheiro privativo é a melhor opção. Único ponto negativo são os 4 andares de escada que temos que subir. Para jovens não há problemas mas imagino pessoas de idade com problemas com isso. No resto foi bem positivo. Não trocam roupa de cama e nem toalhas durante a estadia de forma gratuita. Localização excelente.

Die Pension ist kalt (Ende Februar), dreckig, ungemütlich und riecht unangenehm. Wenn mehrere Zimmer belegt sind wurde das Duschwasser nicht warm. Sehr hellhörig, wurden durch das Schnarchen vom Nachbarn wach gehalten. Positiv ist, dass sie sehr zentral liegt, eine Küche und ein Wohnzimmer vorhanden sind. Allerdings darf man keine Essen kochen, sondern nur Wasser für Tee/Kaffee. Es gibt keine Rezeption.

I wasn't sure about booking here based on reviews on maps and elsewhere, but went ahead due to the location. It's super central, and you know before booking there's no lift. My room was very big, clean, high ceilings. There's a large kitchen with fridge and freezer for your use, but no cooking - it's more re-heating, with toaster/grill and microwave available. Good wifi, big common areas inc tv room, and the booking/check-in/check-out went fine via online and forms in the room. There's no a/c so when it's super hot this could be a deal breaker. Simple but central.

Reservamos con 10 días de antelación, las imágenes de la web pintaban unas habitaciones muy decentes pero al llegar nos metieron en un baño con unas literas. Un despropósito y manteniendo el precio inicial. Después de quejarnos repetidas veces un señor muy amable nos facilitó una habitación en otro hotel a 3km de allí, con el aumento de precio correspondiente. Asíque no lo recomiendo, como dicen en mi pueblo, un cuchitril de tres al cuarto.

Σκέτη απογοήτευση, βρώμικο, σκοτεινό, δεν λειτουργούσε ο κωδικός που μου εστειλαν στο internet για να μπούμε μέσα στο κτίριο τη νύχτα που φθάσαμε από την Ελλάδα, έγινε βραχυκύκλωμα τη νύχτα που πήγαμε να ανάψουμε τα φώτα και κοιμηθήκαμε στο σκοτάδι και το κυριότερο είχαν το χαλάκι του μπάνιου που χρησιμοποιείτο για να ακουμπάμε τα πόδια μας, το οποίο ήταν βρώμικο , διπλωμένο με τις πετσέτες του μπάνιου πάνω στο κρεβάτι, σε ίδιο χρώμα, με αποτέλεσμα να σκουπίσω το πρόσωπό μου με αυτό. Το μόνο θετικό ήταν η θέση του η οποία ήταν στο κέντρο της πόλης.

Mal olor en el baño y la wifi no funcionaba en la habitación. Muy bien ubicado y sin ruido. Muy amables aunque no hay recepción todo el día pero entras con un código. Muy cómodo pero un cuarto piso sin ascensor.

The room is very compact and towels are not provided. The location is great, in the middle of the tourist area.

Enjoyed my stay - right in the centre of everything so great location. I arrived on a night tran so really early in the morning but there was a lovely Lady there to help. SHe helped carry my bags up. Really nice room and balcony too

First of all, you cant find it. It doesnt have any sign on the front or anything. Its on the 4th floor and then it doesnt have any elevator. People stop working at 6pm, so if you come after 6pm, there is no one to help you or attend you. They have a phone number but it doesnt work, and no one answer it. End up in another hotel.

Das Hotelzimmer war mit alten Kacheln (Lissabon!) ausgekleidet. Alles hatte den Charme eines Museums. Die sanitären Anlagen sind dem Museumsstandard entsprechend. Der Empfang im Hotel war sehr unfreundlich und ich habe mich geärgert. Aber nach einer Weile fand ich, dass ich da etwas sehr Ursprüngliches gefunden hatte. Vom Gemeinschaftsbalkon aus hat man direkten Blick auf eine Einkafsstraße des Chiado. Wer es mittendrin mag (ich) ist da genau richtig.Der Blick ist auch so toll, weil es der 4. Stock ist. Ohne Aufzug!Ich würde meinen Koffer trotzdem noch einmal hochschleppen!Allerdings waren außer mir nicht viele andere da. Es ist eher ein Hostel, wievil Remmi-Demmi da sonst ist, das weiß ich nicht.

I stayed for 2 nights here and thought that the place offered value for money. The location is brilliant being within walking distance of all the main sites. Lots of good bars and restaurants in the local area. Whilst it's 75 steps up to the 4th floor where the rooms are and the rooms are tired, they were spotlessly clean as was the shared bathroom. You can rent towels if you haven't brought your own. I would return as i believe it offers great value for money.

I was going to stay in this hotel, but reception is only open until 20:00. Since my bus from Seville did not arrive until 22:00, they made arrangements to put me up in a different hotel at the same price and with the same accommodations. It all worked out.

Our stay was very comfortable,this is a budget hotel and it's essential to have that attitude,there are no frills,having said that I would definitely stay there again.The room was clean,light and airy.We had a room with a private bathroom and for the extra 5 dollars I would definitely recommend to do the same.Great location,close to anything you may need.

Einzelzimmer gebucht, Doppelzimmer ohne Aufpreis erhalten (aber nur eine Nacht, später Check-In).Zimmer war schön eingerichtet, Bett etwas kurz für 1,95m aber bequem.Gemeinschaftsbad riecht stark nach Reinigungsmittel und/oder Urin.Lage sehr zentral direkt am Rossio Platz. Mit Lärm ist zu rechnen. Bei Bedarf Oropax mitnehmen, das die Stadt Lissabon gerne nachts saubermacht.

The hotel itself is quite concealed and up a lot of stairs, but it's nice enough when you get there. The balcony is purely for 2 seats and a table, but it's nice sitting out there. Overall, this is a nice hotel if you can handle those stairs.

mitten im Geschehen, gute Lage, alle Verkehrsmittel schnell erreichbar, in einer Seitengasse im 4. Stock ohne Aufzug, viele Strassengeräusche vom Verkehr aber auch von den darunterliegenden Restaurants bis Mitternacht, aber eben Inenstadt. vier Stockwerke sind mit leichtem Gepäck kein Problem, die teureren Zimmer mit Balkon sind mit 50 Euro dennoch überbezahlt. es wurde nicht ein einziges Mal das Zimmer gesäubert innerhalb von 7 tagen

It's close to most of the attractions. The staff were very nice and helpful. However it was impossible to find a parking space near the hotel. we had to pay 33 euros a day to park our car. The shower had no hot water. It was terrible.
