The staff really curate an warm environment from the moment you walk in. They give you the impression they really care about every little detail. I've never gotten a proper intro to a city like I got here.

Nice view from the window of the room which shows the castle on the hill.

We loved this hostel! Beds are comfy, the people working there are so nice, welcoming and really want to help you have the best experience possible. We only had two nights in Lisboa and when we told them after check-in they suggested some places we should visit first and some more if there’s time left. The location is also great, you’re right in the middle of everything, rooms are small and ours only had 4 people/beds so there is not too much noice with people coming and going. Common room is also great, kitchen as well, everything is really clean and well taken care of!

The staff was f****** awsome. They offer everything you need from food to drinks. Th rooms may be little but I found it nice. I went with 3 friends and everyone said it was fun. So, to the staff of the hostel, we wanna say thank you very much for everything.

Never do they advertise that the reception is a 4th floor walk-up with no elevator, one of the most uncomfortable beds in the history of hostel stays and no arrangements of fan or air conditioning in hot weather. Kitchen is locked not closed but locked between 12 to 8 am. Wth?!

Best experience I've ever had at a hostel. The staff were amazing, super helpful and accommodating, constantly going above and beyond to take care of your every need. The social activities they ran every night were a lot of fun. In addition to all of that, the location was great. Would highly recommend and would definitely return.

Nur zu empfehlen! Wir wurden sehr nett aufgenommen inklusive Begrüßungsgetränk und einem kurzen Überblick über Lissabon. Abends haben wir beim Pub-Crawl mitgemacht, hat viel Spaß gemacht und war top organisiert.

+ La localisation et le personnel sympathique
- Pour le prix : 70 euros/ nuit : la chambre double se composait en fait de deux matelas simples collés, la chambre sentait le moisi à plein nez, fenêtre donnant sur le balcon pour les fumeurs de l'auberge et collées à la réception. La salle de bain attenante avait également une douche très vétuste... bref vis à vis du prix payé très déçus.

The guys at this hostel will welcome you as if you were arriving to their home. They are great! They will suggest places to visit, and they even give you a detailed map. The space is really cool and friendly. Great location too!

Clean place, with a good location in the city. Good people, every time you go in front of them, they will offer you something to drink. And will always all you about the places you visit and plans for the day. The only thing I didn't liked is that there are so many stairs to go on the reception which is at 4th floor

Hands-down the coziest hostel I've ever stayed in. Everyone, including the guests, receptionists, and even the ladies that show up to cook dinner, you all feel like a big family there. Made more friends in this relatively small hostel than I have at any other place I've stayed. Receptionists are SUPER CHILL and insanely helpful. 10/10 would recommend.

Wir haben 2 Nächte in einem Viererzimmer im Hostel verbracht und es war echt super! Man fühlt sich schon richtig nett aufgenommen, wenn man zum Check-In mit einer Tasse Tee begrüßt wird. Die Verteilung der Stadtpläne wird von einer kleinen Präsentation begleitet, die einem einen super Überblick ermöglicht. Jeden Abend findet ein Event statt, bei dem man die anderen Hostelgäste und auch das Nachtleben von Lissabon und portugiesische Traditionen kennenlernt. Das Hostel ist sehr schön eingerichtet und sowohl die Zimmer als auch die Bäder machen einen sehr sauberen Eindruck! Einzig die ziemlich durchgelegenen Matrazen waren etwas unbequem, aber für den Preis völlig in Ordnung!

My stay at we love f tourists was absolutely incredible! The staff are awesome and I want to give a huge thank you to Miguel, Pedro, Iago, and Roberta for making it so great! The staff here really takes care of you and has a great sense of community I havent found at another hostel. I really had to struggle to go home after the trip.

C'est bien la meilleure auberge où j'ai séjourné! Le personnel est vraiment génial, vous serez tout de suite à l'aise. Convient pour voyager en groupe ou seul. Très bien situé dans le centre. Les dortoirs et chambres privées sont un poil petit. Propose un repas différent chaque soir pour 10€ avec vin à volonté (risque d'être rapidement saoul) ! Tournée des bars organisée par l'auberge, parfait pour faire des rencontres. Bon séjour à Lisbonne

Super auberge au cœur de Lisbonne. De nombreuses activités sont organisées chaque jour ce qui facilite les rencontres entre les voyageurs (dîner, concert de fado, sortie dans un bar, pub crawl...). Et surtout, un staff adorable !! On vous accueille avec un thé, une eau citronnée ou un verre de vin selon l'heure à laquelle vous arrivez. Comme à la maison !

Is an ok hostel; but from my view point doesn't deserve the rate it has on booking and hostel world. When I got there I saw a price online that the guy on duty didnt want to keep, so I had to pay 5€more. This rate didn't include beakfast, which is very common in the area. In addition I had to pay 3€ more t9 had a towel. Yes 3€!! And finally. If you want internet, is only available in the main living room. Not the best option in a city full of great places.
Just have to say guys in front desk are very kind

This is the coolest hostel I stayed in Lisbon. Everything is a walk away. The guy name Pedro who is in the reception 'wow" great guy very accommodating.
I definately recommend thos hostel lots of things is you on and I had soo much fun here.

This was my first time staying at a youth hostel and I was blown away by superior service. This is a superior hostel at a great price.
Location:
The hostel is not well marked with signage. You have to read the pavement to see the street number 267 written into the cobblestone. The hostel is only 10 minutes walk from the Plaza Do Commercio and the waterfront. I was able to easily access public transit from the hostel.
Arrival:
Upon arrival, I was served a cup of hot tea and seated in the lounge while my bags were carried to my room. I received a one-on-one walk through of a map of the city and was given recommended places to visit.
Room:
The 4 bed room was clean, well lit and smelled fresh. Everyday, the sheets are changed and beds made in a turn down service.
Amenities:
WiFi is included and is consistent. It is stronger in the lower floors of the hostel.
There is also a kitchen and refrigerator that people can use to store their food and cook it later in the evening.
The breakfast was a good buy for €2 and consisted of pastry, toast, scrambled eggs, deli ham and a slice of edam cheese. The Petiscos dinner of assorted meats and cheeses was a great social even which was only €10.
Overall, all of the extras sold by the hostel were fairly priced around what you would have to pay elsewhere.
Service:
The owner and staff all work very hard to make you feel valued. I was always greeted by my name and asked how my day was going. The staff would remember what I had done and wish me luck with my work.
They were always happy to give a free glass of wine or tea to people who stayed around the Hostel. On the last night, I was given a room upgrade to the single room which was a single bed with a TV with a shared bathroom. In the future when I travel for business, I will stay in the room to myself and pay the extra $30 a night.
Summary:
Outstanding service, great location and solid value for a hostel. I recommend this hostel to single travelers passing through on vacation.

진짜 진짜 가파른 계단이 기다리고 있을거라는걸 몰랐어요...... 중간쯤 낑낑대고 올라왔는데 스탭분이 내려와서 도와주셨어요ㅠㅠ❤️
청결하고 맨 위층에 다이닝룸도 너무 좋았고 휴게공간도 맘에 들어요!
호스텔에서 자체적으로 대륙의끝! 호카곶가는 유료 프로그램이 있어서 편하게 다녀왔었는데 좋은 경험이었어요^^ 스텝분들 모두 친절해요!!!!!

The staff is very kind and helpful nevertheless some people would regard them as too invasive (they commonly start smalltalk).
The rooms and baths are clean however the rooms are quite different from one another so maybe you'll be lucky and have a large room with storagespace or you're unlucky and get the cramiest room with 2 bunkbeds and next to none space.

I absolutely loved it here and when I come back to Lisbon this will be my choice again.
Really friendly staff, offering drinks and help with everything. Giving really good advice of what to do and what to see, where to get good food if you don't want to eat at the hostel. There is a sweet and good coffee shop at the ground floor with friendly staff as well. You can get almost anywhere by walking or tram. Rooms and showers are clean.
Pub crawl was amazing and a lot of fun!
When the people here heard that our flight is at night they offered us to store our luggage at the hostel without us having to ask.
Hospitality at its best at any time!
Looking forward to come back :-)

This place was one of my favourite travel experiences. Clean and simple with very friendly staff and an amazing international clientele ... We had dinner "Baccalhao" under the roof on a large table where we met some amazing people from around the world: South Corea, United States, Italy, Colombia, France, UK ... just some of the countries.
It is very centric and you can explore Lisbon in some footwalk.
If you'd like to meet interesting people, this place is better than any fancy hotel.

Auberge de jeunesse idéalement située en plein centre touristique de Lisbonne, personnel très sympathique et accueil très chaleureux, très avenant et au petit soin, dispensant conseils et bons plans ce qui est très agréable. Avec des prix défiant toute concurrence.
Cependant il est à noté que l'immeuble de dispose pas d'ascenseur et que les escaliers sont plutôt raides, ce qui est j'en conviens, le lot beaucoup d'immeubles dans le secteur, mais qui peut rendre le séjour compliqué suivant sont age et/ou sa mobilité.

Pros: Super helpful, kind, and cool staff (Tiago and the lovely lady from Brazil!). Super central location. Great communal chill area upstairs. Organized activities help you meet people. I stayed in a private room which was good but cant comment on the dorms. Con: There are lots of stairs (about 80). Would totally stay here again.

Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, Aktivitäten des Hostels machen es als Alleinreisende möglich, schnell Kontakt zu Leuten zu finden. Zimmer sind sehr klein, Sauberkeit könnte insgesamt besser sein. Hatte im Zimmer Probleme mit Bettwanzen, das Hostel hat dabei aber professionell reagiert und umgehend Maßnahmen getroffen.

UBICACIÓN INMEJORABLE. Hemos estado en una habitación doble muy cómoda y limpia, con una cama muy grande. Sólo había un baño para 4 habitaciones, pero no tuvimos problema. El personal muy muy amable y atento. Al llegar nos dieron bizcocho y te, a pesar de que eran las 6 de la mañana, nos dieron mucha información sobre la ciudad, nos limpiaron la habitación y nos dejaron agua todos los días, en el check out nos regalaron dos pasteis de nata y a lo largo de la estancia nos propusieron un montón de actividades con otros huéspedes (tb organizan salidas a Sintra) pero nosotros preferimos ir a nuestro aire. Todo perfecto!!

Best hostel ever!!! We have been in a private room for two during the weekend and everything was really good! Staff was really friendly and lovely (thank you so much Anabelle and Iago), they were always willing to help us with recommendations about food, trips, main tips for the city and everything else.
Hostel was very clean (even considering bathrooms were shared, they were always clean too), comfortable and you are able to have a cheap breakfast there if you want to. There is also a really cool chill out zone.
The only contra we could think of it would be that you have to climb stairs to arrive to the rooms, but it is totally worth it! (And come on, you are in Lisbon, there are far worse hills than that)
The hostel offers some activities too every day, as pub-crawls, special dinners, fado nights and sintra tours.
We absolutely reccomend it! If we ever come back to Lisbon we won't look for anything else.

Amazing welcome and staff !! They know their city so well and were always so accommodating and friendly. We loved the tapas dinner and spectacular fado concert, we met so many great travellers here. Everything was very clean and well organised. The evening tea service after a cold but wonderful day in Sintra was just perfect. Will be back to see more of the city and to visit this hostel.

I have no clue what people are talking about with this hostel. I think part of it is that they come on thick real fast with the pleasantries and enthusiasm. And some of that felt authentic. But mostly it feels like they just want you to drink the kool-aid.
After you schlep all your stuff up 4 of the steepest flights of stairs you will eventually be able to put your stuff down. I am not kidding when I say these are *the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept on*. It’s a wafer thin mattress that folds in like a pancake around you on top of wire screen resembling chicken fencing. Then there is a metal bar that runs directly through the middle of your spine.
The room is dead uncirculated air. The bunks are the cheapest 4 post metal contraptions money can buy. If your bunk mate rolls over the whole unit sways. There is zero privacy provided by a curtain or built in bunk cabinet.
They come at you hard to sign up for expensive dinners and pub crawls. I had just come from an amazing hostel in Seville with free breakfast AND free dinners.
And if you mistakenly sign up for their Sintra tour you will be out about €50-60 when it’s all said and done. SPOILER ALERT - you can pay about €6 for a round trip ticket and tour Sintra yourself without being hemmed into their drivers schedule.
I was scheduled for 3 nights and woke up bleary eyed and exhausted after the first night and got the hell out of there.

Far and away my favorite hostel ever. The hostel itself is great, the common areas are very cute, but the staff really puts it over the top. From the time we got there everyone remembered our names, made sure we had everything we needed, and were also super friendly. They are the same friendly folks who'll make the family-style dinners and hang out during the pub crawls. I can't reccomend it highly enough, it's just the best. Also they organize a day trip to Sintra's castles nearby, and it's a great day that would be very tough for a traveler without a car

I loved the atmosphere and staff at this hostel!
The events are also nice but sometimes they can seem to be a bit pushy to get you to sign up for them, especially for dinners. But for me, I attended when I wanted and refused when I didn’t, so it was great.
The breakfast was also nice.
The facilities could improve some, especially the showers. But staff were great to attend any problems with them.
Would definitely recommend it!

We stayed just one night before moving to the coast with friends. The place is in a really good location close to the city center and several hot spots (Barrio Alto, Pensao Amor). Rooms are fairly standard but clean with lots of bathrooms available, beds are fairly average. The service is very kind and helpful, especially with suggestions for restaurants and local spots, they may be a bit overzealous however. The hostel also organizes activities for dinner and after dinner.
Unfortunately prices are a bit high for the offer, beds are not on par with similar places and towels or padlocks are 3€ extra each.
Communal rooms seems small especially if everyone wishes to use it.
Overall a good experience despite the short stay.

Just loved this place. Lets be honest, is a place for people that like to travel and meet another people. The whole culture of the hostel is based on experiences (dinner parties, pub crawls, day trips, events, cool restaurant frutaria). THis is a place for people that want to have the most of experiencing the culture and having fun too.. SUper recomended. The staff help you with everything, since carrying your luggage, to giving you ice tea, wine, etc, planning your city, cooking for you etc etc. Hands down for you guys. Other hostel has a lot to learn.
THey dont have swiming pools and etc they have fun and local vibe on their hearts :)

여긴 문화충격이다.
직원들 다 약빤거 같아요.
굳이 내 배낭 빼앗아 들어주고.
오면 힘드니까 음료부터 한잔주고요.
설명해주는데 그냥 설명이 아니라. 예를들어 내가 체크아웃후 포르투넘어간다하면 포르투에 대한 정보까지 다시 챙겨서 주고요. 와인이나 맥주도 먹어보라고 주고. 밤에는 차도 마시라고 방으로 갖다줘요.
지나갈때마다 직원들이 보이면 자기소개하면서 인사하고. 침대 샤워시루 컨디션 다 완벽.
마지막 체크아웃할때 선물이라고 미니와인까지 주더라구요. 이런 호스텔이 어딨어. 이곳은 천국입니다..
호스텔에서 펍크롤이랑 이런저런 행사많은데 일정에 쫓겨서 참여하지 못해 오히려 미안할 정도였어요. 강추합니다.

THE CLEANEST HOSTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED AT!
Honestly, the cleaning girls do an amazing job of keeping this hostel spotless and it’s beyond me how they manage to keep it smelling so fresh the whole time.
Not only that, but the staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have a tailored experience of the city and I can’t rate highly enough the Sintra tour and Arti!

L indication pour trouver le lieu... Il y a une minuscule inscription sur le côté de la porte.
La réception est au 4ème étage sans ascenseur.... Avec un escalier étroit...
Le personnel est très souriant et sympathique.
Ils offrent un verre de bienvenue, c est chaleureux
Le petit dej se prend aussi au 4eme étage...
Choix correct mais pas exceptionnel pour le petit déjeuner... Salle assez petite avec table très conviviale mais souvent pleine...
La chambre du 2eme étage :
Petite, sans confort, matelas inconfortable, il manquait des lattes... C est très bruyant... Avec le bruit des groupes de climatisation.
Ça sentait l humidité.... Avec des champignons au plafond...
La salle de bain du 2eme étage
Moisissures au plafond
Pas de douchette
Rien pour poser son savon dans la douche...
Bref très spartiate... À la limite de l insalubrite....
Une expérience que je ne renouvellerai pas vu le prix... 244 pour 3 nuits...

Spend 3 nights between 31st August and 3rd September. Very clean and tidy hostel placed in city center. The staff is really friendly and helpful. I know it's their job to be nice but they really mean it. I would definitely come here again!

Very intense welcome with a intro to Lisbon, the best spots with pictures. Very very helpful, loads going on and a younger adventurous crowd. Rooms nice, shared bathrooms. It's a good hostel.

저에게 리스본이라는 도시는 그닥 맘에 드는 도시는 아니였지만 만약 제가 이도시를 다시찾는다면 이 호스텔과 alphendra?라는 식당때문일거에요!
일단 호스텔스탭들이 너무나 친절했고 시설도 나쁘지도않고 한가지 흠이 있다면 계단이높다? 하지만 그마저도 스탭이 옮겨주기 때문에 큰문제는 아니구요! 처음갈때 침대에 사탕과함께 한글편지도있었구 스탭과 이런저런 얘기를 나눴는데 그내용기억하고 저 나갈때 엽서에 편지도 써줘서 너무 감동이었어요ㅠ 제가 한달반 여행하면서 쓴 호스텔중 가장친절했던곳이 여기가 아닐까싶네요! 제가 만약다시 리스본에온다면 저는 무조건! 이곳으로 올거에요!! Thankyou Annabel!

Super Lage und Verkehrsanbindung. Sehr zuvorkommendes, freundliches und hilfreiches Personal. Bad, Küche und Common rooms sind sauber und gut. Die Matratzen könnten was dicker sein :). Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen.

I loved this place. The location (Rossio) is wonderfully central and you can get there directly from the airport with the Areobus for under €5. The marking to get there could be a bit bigger (the sign says "Hostel" and the buzzer is half of a red heart), but once you get inside expect friendly staff, organised pub crawls, daily local group evening meals and excursions to Sintra as optional. They accept cards and cash and give you a local map upon your arrival. The rooms are clean and spacious and split over several floors (there are a lot of steps involved). I recommend it to anyone considering a stay in Lisbon!

This has to be the best hostel in the world: the staff is so nice and helpful, the rooms are amazing, there's something going on every single night (dinner, pub crawls, parties, sightseeing, you name it), the food is really delicious and it's really easy to make new friends since the atmosphere is so relaxing and it basically feels like home. Definitely visiting again. 5 stars

Small hostel with alot of stairs, but very clean and well maintained and the friendly, accommodating nature of the hostel staff makes up for any stairs you may have to climb :) very central, when I return to Portugal I'll definitely be staying here :)

Superb hostel in Lisbon. It is worth staying at! The owners are very open and welcoming. They are very interested in your journey and are willing to help you to make the best of it. They have a good knowledge of Lisbon and recommend nice local restaurants.
Nice rooms, clean toilets and bathroom. They offer excursions with their own taxi service, pubcrawls and if you want, you can eat a very delicious dinner at the hostel for a fair price! Not to forget to mention that the breakfasts come with scrambled eggs!
We really loved it over there!

방은 깔끔합니다만 4층까지 계단으로 올라가야해서 짐 들고 아동하기가 힘든 단점이 있습니다 - 얘기하면 스태프가 다 들어다 줍니다.

Pésima atención después de tocar hasta el cansancio el portero, me atiende una mujer que al parecer recién se estaba despertando, preguntando si tenía reserva por portero, pésima atención. Por lo menos si vas a demorar en atender tene la gentileza de recibir al huésped.

가시는 분들은 위치를 정확히 알고 가셔야 할듯합니다. 간판이 없고 일반 아파트 같은 건물이에요. 대문이 열렸을 때 엘레베이터는 없어서 걱정됐지만 크루가 내려와서 짐을 옮겨줬습니다. 체크인할때 리스본 여행지에 대한 설명을 자세히 해줘요. 체크인만 한 30분 걸린듯. 신트라 투어도 신청받아서 진행하구요. 매일 저녁 호스텔에서 지정한 스케줄( 바를 가거나 파두공연을 보거나 등) 있고 같이 할지 물어봅니다. 참석하면 여러나라 친구들을 사귈 수 있는 기회이기도 해요. 방은 아늑하지만 겨울엔 따로 난방장치가 없어서 추우실수 있습니다. 수건은 1회 지급해줍니다. 아침은 빵이랑 에그스크램블,커피,과일까지 맘껏 먹고 하루를 시작할 수 있어요.
직원분들도 친절하고 새로운 사람들과 대화를 즐기는 여행객이라면 더할나위없이 좋은 호스텔입니다.

새벽에 체크인하는 것이 어렵다는 리뷰가 있어서 걱정을 많이 하고 갔습니다. 새벽 1시에 도착한다고 예약번호를 밝혀 메일을 도착 전에 보내놨습니다. 다행히 잘 체크인 했습니다. 사실 얼른 쉬고 싶었는데 직원분께서 차를 타주시고 여러가지 설명을 친절하게 해주셔서 감사하면서 좀 피곤했습니다 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 호스텔은 4층인데 엘레베이터가 없습니다. 그래도 직원분들이 캐리어를 옮겨주셔서 편하게 체크인 했습니다. 욕실은 깨끗합니다. 타월은 챙겨 가셔야 합니다.

Great experience. Hostel is super clean, the furniture are vintage and lounge area is the best. Right in city center, you can walk every where. The guys who manage it are great , every night there is an activity for socialize and they cooked nice dinner. Well, be a f****** tourist in Lisboa

One of the coolest hostels I have ever been to. The staff (young people) care for you in every way and have lots of good tipps for you.
We booked a two-person apartment for 3 nights for 180 euro (including breakfast which we don't know before :)
+ cool staff
+ they offer cool tipps for trips and restaurants, free icetea
+ easy, but delicious breakfast
+ directly in the city centre for a fair price
+ nice rooms
+ easy to meet other travellers
+ they offer evening events and a trip to sintra
+ trip to sintra: do it
- two-person room had an open toilet (seriously? ;)
- we had to change the room once
- not so much space for stuff in the rooms

Very clean, amazing staff, nice house with great activities. I would recommend going there. Only thing - the beds weren't too comfortable and the room we stayed in was quite small without a closet.

한국인 후기가 좋지 않아 전날 미리 전화하여 야간 버스를 타고 간다고 이야기 하고, 메일로도 상황을 보내 놓고 갔습니다. 그리고 새벽 5시 버스 정류장에 도착한뒤 15분뒤 도착한다고 전화하였습니다. 택시 타고 도착해보니 직원 두분이 나와서 기다리고 계셨어요!! 직원분들이 매우 친절합니다. 포르투갈사람들은 모두가 친절해요 숙소에 머물면서 매우 즐거웠고 직원 중 어느한명도 불친절? 평범? 하신분이 없고 모두가 매우 친절합니다!!! 아침에 조리해주시는 에그스크램블도 맛있어요. 만들어주신분도 매우 친절해요 이 숙소에 묵은뒤 포르투갈이 너무 좋아졌어요. 사랑해요 리스본. 사랑해요 포르투갈❤️❤️❤️

Sehr schönes Hostel mitten in Lissabon. Das Personal ist super lieb, gibt Empfehlungen und eine tolle Einweisung zum Hostel. Die Lage ist wirklich super, man ist direkt im Geschehen! Die Zimmer sind sehr schön eingerichtet, nur sehr hellhörig also nichts für Langschläfer! ;) Die Aufenthaltsbereiche sind auch sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und laden zum Verweilen ein.

Vraiment un super endroit. L'accueil est très agréable le personnel très attentionné. Ils proposent des activités facultatives culturelles et ou divertissantes. Nous avons participé à une visite guidée de deux châteaux portugais, une dégustation de Porto fromage et gâteau portugais et une soirée tapas avec découverte du fado (le chant traditionnel portugais) c'était vraiment génial ! Nice and cosy hostel! The hosts were great people and really helpful with everything. The hostel is clean, well maintained and right in the heart of Lisbon. There's an attic space with good ambiance to sit and relax, read or chill after a long day out. And of course, the amazing ice tea!

The hostel has a good location, just 1 minute away from the railway and 2 minutes away from the subway. The staff is very friendly and they go out of their way to help you even when you don't ask for the help. It has fun activities every night, offering free wine and beer some days of the week. There's a kitchen where you can cook if you want to and a fridge to store your food. It also has a very nice common area where people from all the rooms can hang out.

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this hostel at all. We booked a double room for a week and afterwards got an email that it was overbooked and they could only offer us a double room for a few of these days. We would also have to switch the room three(!) times and stay in a 4-bed-room for three nights. Well, those things can happen, but what really annoyed us, was that they seemed not to be very sorry about the inconvenience this caused us. Although they stayed polite in the emails, they did not offer us any compensation for the inconvenience. On the contrary, we actually had to pay more for our stay than in our original booking, because they didn't give us the cheaper weekly price for the rooms when we decided to stay only 5 nights. They let us even pay for the „superior“ double room in which we had to stay in because of their mistake. This felt ridiculous.
When we wrote them about our concerns, we felt they didn't really react to that. Instead, they wrote if we were not happy with their offer we could cancel the booking and look for something else, because they had other guests that wanted to book their rooms. However, because it was Easter holidays and Lisbon nearly booked out, we did not find another affordable and central option and decided to stay 5 nights. In the end, we got the feeling that there could be a system behind their “non-working” booking system, because to us they seemed so prepared for our reaction and when you read a few other reviews, you'll see that overbooking has happened before.
In my opinion, their whole attitude was not customer-friendly at all. We also spoke to two members of staff when we arrived and had the feeling that they (in their role for representing the hostel and its service) didn't feel very sorry or responsible for our inconvenience. Because the hostel has so many good reviews (and indeed the house and the rooms are pretty, but that's kind of all good there is to it, we think), we felt that they seem to think they can afford it, that some people don't ever want to come back.
Another thing that was very annoying was that to us they appeared fake friendly, like kind of ignoring the fact that we were not satisfied about the situation the booking mistake caused us. They were always super friendly (we found in a very exaggerated way), asking about our day and giving us tips, as well as mentioning hostel activities like dinners or city tours. But we had the feeling that this was not about being friendly and trying to make it up to us, but to draw our attention to these extended offers they arranged and who one has to pay for. So the whole experience was really unpleasant for us. Too bad.

Ostello in posizione centrale, molto comodo per visitare la città a piedi. Abbiamo ricevuta una delle migliori accoglienze tra tutti gli ostelli in cui siamo stati. Bibita di benvenuto e spiegazione dei principali posti della città da visitare in base ai nostri interessi e al tempo di permanenza (il tutto con presentazione di foto su tablet). Il personale è sempre disponibile e pronto a dare i migliori consigli sulla località. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo (15€/notte a maggio). Unica pecca per chi non ama fare le scale, l'ostello si trova al quinto piano di un edificio senza ascensore, ma per noi non è stato un problema salire e scendere. Consigliatissimo

I think you can't get a better service in a hostel than here! You get free iced tea and wine and the staff helps you a lot with planning your day. You can order scrambled eggs in the morning, too. Everything's clean and the common room is very cozy. The rooms are a bit small but it worked very well.

This was by far the best hostel i've ever stayed at. The staff is unbelievably nice and always willing to accomodate you in anyway that they can. The breakfast provided is much better then any hostel ive stayed at as well (portion size, quality of food). The rooms and bathrooms were always kept expertly cleaned. It's location is also terrific, right in the centre of Lisbon within walking distance of the Alfama and Bairro Alto. It also is close to transit to get pretty much anywhere else in the city you may want to go such as Belem. They also provide things to do for very fair prices such fado show nights, pub crawls and trips to Sintra. If you stay here then you are gaurenteed to have a great trip.

I have been to about 60 hostels in my travels and this is by far the best hostel! It has the best staff and amazing atmosphere, so it´s super easy to meet fellow travelers there! Best location in Lisbon, spotlessly clean and activities everyday were good fun! Don´t miss the Tapas night! I´ll always be happy to return! :)

the staff here are so attentive. CARRIED MY LUGGAGE explained maps and gave suggestions of restaurants and directions. 우선 간판이라고 할 만한 것이 전혀 없어서 호스텔 위치를 알아보기가 여간 힘든 게 아니었습니다. 일반 아파트먼트처럼 생긴 건물에 철제 대문은 아주 굳게 닫혀 있었어요. 아주 야간버스를 타고 리스본에 아침 7시 경 도착해서 짐이라도 맡겨놓으려고 호스텔에 겨우 도착했으나 아무리 벨을 눌러도 아무런 반응이 없었습니다. 호스텔 전화번호로 전화를 걸어도 받지 않았구요. 아침 7시는 이른 시간이라 그럴 수 있다고 해도 아침 8시 반이 다 된 시간에도 전화나 벨 그 어떤 것에도 응답하지 않는 것은 이상하다고밖에 볼 수 없었습니다. 그날은 리스본에 비가 엄청 퍼붓는 날이었는데 저와 동행은 비에 쫄딱 젖어서 엄청난 고생을 했습니다. 예약대행업체 고객센터에 문의를 하여 호텔 측에 컴플레인을 넣어달아고 부탁했으나 대행업체 측에서도 호텔이 전화를 받지 않는다며 이상하다는 말을 해왔습니다. 저는 급기야 근처의 다른 숙소를 급하게 예약할 수밖에 없었구요.
그날 저녁 해당 숙소에 다시 찾아가 무슨 일이었냐고 묻자, 24시간 리셉션이지만 다른 고객들이 자고 있을 시간에는 도어벨을 무음으로 해놓는다는 겁니다. 때문에 정확한 도착 예정 시간을 미리 고지하지 않은 저희 잘못이라는 거구요.
24시간 리셉션이면 24시간 리셉션을 운영해야지 밤부터 아침까지는 도어벨을 무음으로 해놓는다는 것이 말이 됩니까? 그렇다면 예약대행업체 웹사이트에 리셉션 데스크 운영 방식을 똑바로 적어두어야 하지 않나요? 설령 그 방침에 문제가 없다고 해도, 숙박업체에서 아침 8시가 넘었는데도 3-4번에 걸친 전화통화 시도와 도어벨 소리를 모두 무시한다는 게 말이 되나요?
전화는 왜 받지 않았느냐고 물어보자 그 시간에 직원이 아침밥을 먹고 있을지 화장실에 있을지, 뭘 하고 있었을지 어떻게 아냐는 겁니다. 이게 무슨 말도 안 되는 변명인가요... 그럴거면 전화번호는 왜 기재한 건가요. 저희는 엄청 화가 나서 따지고 있는데, 그 와중에 지금이라도 자기들 숙소에 묵고 싶으면 오라고 하지를 않나, 자기들이 우리를 얼마나 기다리고 있었는지 아냐고 하지를 않나. 급기야는 late cancel이기 때문에 50퍼센트밖에 환불해줄 수 없다고 하였습니다. 제대로 된 사과 한마디 없이요. 제대로 된 사과라도 받았으면 모를까, 처음부터 끝까지 변명 일색에, 화내는 사람을 유난스러운 사람으로 만드는 반응까지.
심지어 첫 예약 시도 때 알 수 없는 시스템 오류 때문에 예약 확정을 받지 못해 최초 예약 비용보다 만원 이상 오른 비용으로 예약을 했던 건데 말이에요. 다른 리뷰를 보니 예약이 튕긴 분이 저 말고도 또 있는 것 같더군요. 거기에 대한 제대로 된 사과도 없었던 것 같구요.
똑바로 장사하세요. 고객센터 통해서 문의하니 저희랑 분명 면대면으로 얘기한 적이 있음에도 불구하고 "그분들이 다른 건물로 잘못 찾아간 게 아니구요?"라고 했다는 것까지 들었습니다. 뻔뻔함과 파렴치함도 정도가 있지. 한국 분들이라도 피하시라고 한국어로 상세하게 올립니다.

The people who attends on the hostel are a bit "intensive". They are continously asking for the stay in the hostel, in Lisbon....also offering tours...
The acces to the hostel is not recomendable for hadicapped persons because you must acces from lots of vertical steps.

The name might put some people off, but this was hands down the best hostel I stayed in while in Portugal and Spain. The level of customer service is beyond any others and its no wonder this place was nominated for as a finalist in best hostel, worldwide, both in 2016 and 2015. The reception area is manned 24/7 and they even host events nearly every night. The only downside to the stay was the snorer in my room, but that had nothing to do with the great location, customer service, and price point of this gem!

It was one of these cases that you never think it will happen to you but it happened to us. We arrived to the guesthouse and been told that our booking was cancel due to a problem with the booking engine. We were shocked, we are in Lisbon during the weekend, the city is packed, and we don't have a place to stay. Good customer service means that the hostel should find us an alternative, but instead, the lady looked for some places that are way too expensive. It shows how much they care. They didn't offer us any compensation. They could at least paid the taxi we took to the other hostel that we booked ourselves, or the difference between the prices but they did not offered anything. Ah sorry, I forgot, the lady offered us some water but she actually forgot to bring it. They did notified us via email 3 hours before we arrived the hostel but we were on our holiday and I don't usually check my email every hour just to see if there are any cancellations. It would make sense at least to call us. The lady at the reception offered us some information about Lisbon but it wasn't important as we didn't have a F****** place to stay in!
