I have tried restaurants in China, Russia, most of European countries, Australia and New Zealand. I have tried Michellin restaurants in UK and Dubai... however, The only place to return 4th year in the row is Portimao. For one reason only - Restaurante F. If you are too lazy to read on - it is simply the best restaurant ever anywhere. If you wish to continue...
The view is spectacular. It’s Algarve, after all. The weather is perfect here all year round.
It is very highly likely, that you will be served by the owner of the place. He will definitely be serving your drinks.
The place is clean, nicely designed. I mean - really, nothing to pick on.
And then you start getting food and drinks. Bread with flavoured butters on a hot stone... Fluffy, full bodied, perfect texture, extremely dense foamed pina colada. Absolutely perfect start.
We always get tasting menus when we come here. Every single time we are surprised with textures, smells, colours, flavours.
All of the food is extremely fresh and local. Even the wines you are offered sometimes come only as far as 4 miles away.
The sea bass, English/Portuguese lamb, cream-brûlée ice-cream (torched at the table)... I mean - they make magic out of chicken nuggets for kids!
We have not tried it all yet. I saw other clients today ordering processo and all of the show with huge sword that comes with it... needless to say, we are going back again. Soon.
Oh. By the way. In UK, two people taster menu with drinks would cost you £300. Here it was four of us, with loads of drinks and the bill was €230...

Prix assez chere.
Personnel sympa malgré le faite qu'il vous mettes sur les premiere tables remplient de moustiques.
La vue est sympa (sans en faire des caisses)
Le repas était bon. Cocktail à base de blanc d'oeuf original (avec goût spécial).
Les quantités sont correct.

Nous y sommes venus dîner deux fois durant notre séjour à Portimao, la nourriture est excellente, la vue sur la plage est splendide mais par contre attention car l'addition est un peu salée !!!

Já frequento o restaurante F à alguns anos e nunca deixa de me surpreender. A comida é excelente (recomendo fortemente o foie gras e o entrecôte), com sugestão de vinho a acompanhar cada prato,e o staff é super atencioso profissional e simpático. Recomendo!

Posto panoramico sulla spiaggia di Praia da Rocha, a Portimao , locale gradevolissimo, servizio cortese e cucina a vista. I piatti sono presentati con molta cura e la cucina è di pregio. La cataplana di marisco, accompagnata da ottiima zuppa, molto buona, vino come sempre ottimo. Il conto leggermente più alto della media , ma vale la esperienza di questa cucina.

Hier kun je heerlijk eten (ster waardig). Je gaat hier niet naar toe om de traditionele Portugese keuken te proeven maar hier kun je genieten van geweldige kookkunsten, heerlijke wijnen en een verbluffende uitzicht op de "praia da rocha". Zeer zeker een aanrader!

Tasty, gourmet food at very fair price, excellent wines. I had as red wine a Nieeport Baga with only 11.5% alcohol and ordered a Châteaubriand , my colleagues a fish in salt crust, 3 course menu. We were all delighted.
You can't find this quality for value anywhere else. Spectacular views on Praia da Rocha make it an ideal place to celebrate life. My favourite restaurant in the Algarve.

Melhor restaurante de Portimão! Eu e minha esposa tivemos o prazer de experimentar a experiência F 5 pratos da carta com a harmonização de vinhos incluída, e estava tudo perfeito desde as entradas até os pratos principais! A harmonização dos vinhos foi feita pelo Sr. Gonçalo um verdadeiro sommelier que nos explicou tudo sobre os vinhos servidos e também nos deu explicações sobre todos os pratos! O ambiente é fenomenal com vista panorâmica da praia de Portimão (recomendo chegar antes do pôr do sol), há também uma garrafeira com preços bem justos.

Superb food. We chose the 3 course surprise menu where the chef chooses everything for you and matches the wines to each course. Everything was perfect, the only thing I could complain about if I had to was I found the service a little too fast overall, but this is the end of December, I expect the wait is a little longer in the summer. I would definitely come back and try the surprise menu again.

Ett lite finare ställe på en "festgata" som skiljer sig från mängden av pubar och snabbmat. Fin utsikt mot havet. God mat och dryck. Tog aningen för lång tid att få maten serverad trots att lokalerna inte var mer än halvfulla. Finns en god kötträtt som man måste beställa dagen innan för att den skall hinna tillagas i tid. Den kan varmt rekommenderas!

Bonitas vistas al mar. Pedimos las vieras, ceviche de pescado blanco y risoto de quinoa y de postre, panacota de pistacho. Todos los platos de excelente calidad y sabor. Promedio de 30€ por persona con vino. Servicio muy amable. Volveríamos sin duda.

We were a week in portimao for holidays in August and we had twice dinner there. The atmosphere was very pleasant, the waiters and the manager very nice and professional. And the food was very good ! You also have a nice view on the beach and a beautiful sunset! If you go to Portimao and want to eat something good with a great atmosphere, I highly recommend you to go there !

O espaço tem tudo para ser um restaurante de 5 estrelas. Na minha opinião peca um pouco na falta de acolhimento no atendimento. Tanto que pedimos para tirar uma foto de família e continuamos à espera.
As porções são mínimas tendo em conta o preço. A vista é muito agradável, a comida é deliciosa mas com entrada, prato e sobremesa pode sair ainda com fomeca...

Wir haben hier unglaublich gut gegessen. Bekamen einen tollen Service, der Sitzplatz war super mit toller Aussicht aufs Meer und die Atmosphäre mit geschmackvoller Musik war mehr als passend für einen gelungenen Abend. Definitiv der beste Ort in portimao um gut essen zu gehen. Vorallem die Weinbegleitung und das Essen waren hervorragend - Siehe Bilder anbei. Definitive Empfehlung für jeden der im Urlaub auch Mal ein bisschen schöner Essen gehen möchte.

Notre expérience a été parfaite!
Effectivement ils vous apportent pain sans mentionner que c est payant. Donc le couvert est facturé, ce qui personnellement ne m a pas dérangé.

We were only searching for a place with good wine choice and though it’s not really a wine bar, we were warmly welcomed for drinks.
As a sommelier I found the wine list really interesting, well built and informative for a regular consumer.
I’ve asked for recommendations and was offered to try Serras de Girândola Cepas Cinquentenárias (white blend from old vines of Setubal region). It turned out to be the most exciting discovery during this trip to Portugal.
Wines can also be bought to go at a retail price.
Just to have some light snack we had clams Amêijoas à bulhão pato- always my favourite dish. And I’m keen on returning some day for a more substantial dinner here.
By the way, the views from terrace are stunning!

Das mit Abstand beste Restaurant in diesem Gebiet. Spitzenküche, tolles Ambiente, sehr guter Service und einen tollen Blick aufs Meer. Lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen. 10 Sterne wären angemessen.
Und auch in diesem Jahr kann ich alles nochmal bestätigen.

This place is amazing. We were suprised to find quality like this amongst the Irish bars on the strip. This is not a cheap resturant and the portions are not huge but the quality of service food and wine is second to none. My steak was perfect and my girlfriends said the fish was to die for and the less expensive wine on the menu was also stunning. We loved it so much we booked in for the next day as well also we didn't realise until we got there it has such lovely sea views. This is a memorable- special occasion resturants..

C'est LE resto gastronomique portugais. Au choix : service viande ou poisson vin compris à ne pas manquer à Portimao sur la digue. Le service poisson est un délice inoubliable. Chaque bouchée vous transporte. Vous pouvez aussi manger à la carte. L'accueil et la vue sur la mer vous décontracte. Réservez avant d'y aller.

Eravamo molto scettici prima di entrare. Le ultime recensioni non erano rincuoranti e avevamo paura di entrare in un locale turistico travestito da locale chic. Invece vi devo dire che è stato davvero SUPERLATIVO. Il locale si presenta davvero bene con una stupenda vista sulla baia di Portimao e, soprattutto, si distacca completamente dal caos del lungo mare.
Arriviamo al sodo: CIBO.
Un menù non molto vasto (e a mio parere questo è sempre un buon segno) ma decisamente curato nella preparazione. Il risotto con le vongole era buonissimo! E le porzioni abbondanti (tanto che con una portata ci siano saziati in due).
Come secondo abbiamo presto la Steak Portoghese (ottima! Da provare se non volete mangiare pesce) e il Polipo con le patate Dolci, una vera delizia!
Il servizio davvero Top. Il mitico José all'ingresso saprà conquistarvi con la sua simpatia (pensate che data l'umidità della sera e il vento ci ha portato due plaid da mettere sulle spalle!). Camerieri professionali e molto cortesi.

Caro? Beh chi ha scritto che è caro non ha mai mangiato il sabato sera a Roma con 30 euro a testa mangi meno e anche male se non sai dove andare.
Sicuramente più caro rispetto a un Tapas Bar ma posto, qualità e servizio sono commisurati al prezzo pagato.

Fantastic views and great selection of food and wines. You get to have dinner overlooking the beach Praía da Rocha. The staff were great and attentive and funny. A lot of Portugeuse fare, which meant lots of meat and not a lot of options for vegetarians. Portions were a bit smaller, so not entirely full afterwards but still worth it.

Had anniversary dinner last night. From the moment we were shown to our table it was a pleasure. I had the suckling pig hubby had Beef steak Portuguese style both dishes sublime. Pudding was to die for.

Nous nous sommes beaucoup poses de questions sur le choix des restaurant pendant notre voyage et celui-ci est une réussite. C'est un restaurant gastronomique où les plats sont consistant et tres bon. Le prix sont hauts mais vu la qualité c'est normal. Juste un peu déçu par la fondu au chocolat a partager qui est trop petite pour deux personnes.

Restaurant agréable, bien situé avec une très belle vue sur l'océan. La table était élégante et nous étions bien installés.
L' accueil est chaleureux, le service est efficace et la sommelière d'excellent conseil.
Dans l'assiette: quel bonheur, une explosion de saveurs!
Chaque plat est un plaisir des yeux avant que d'être un plaisir des papilles. L' association est inventive, parfois surprenante.
Cuisine de très haute qualité, avec des produits clairement de première fraîcheur. Les plats sont beaux et raffinés, avec une bonne maîtrise des cuissons. Aussi, tout a l'air fait maison.
À la hauteur de sa réputation, lieu privilégié ou l’élégance prédomine.

Truely one of the best dining experiences ever! A breath-taking sea view over the cliffs of Praia da Rocha. Super sweet and frendly personell and top kitchen creating genius food with artisfic layout. The rare done tuna steak was the best I have ever got anywhere before. The portions are decorated like in fine dining Michelin star restaurants and the taste is mind blowingly good also. Excellent wine recommendations matching the foods. Food was ok but really small portions. The cover (couvert) is a rip off at €2.50 per person so turned out to be €12.50 for five diners. That's one small piece of bread and a teaspoon of olive sauce, a teaspoon of olive oil and half a teaspoon of oyster butter for each person. There were 5 of us and I'm not sure if we got more than if there were fewer people.

Wir hatten ein Entrecôte und ein Spargel Risotto. Da ich bestimmte Zutaten aus bestimmten Gründen nicht vertrage, hatten wir ein interessantes Gespräch auf der Straße mit dem Personal (die in südlichen Ländern ja gerne vor der Tür stehen und einen "heineinwerben").
Perfekt aufgeklärt ging es an die Bestellung.
Das Steak war definitiv eins der besten bislang. Sehr zart, auf den Punkt mit wirklich knusprigen Wedges. Der gleiche Kellner wie an der Tür fragte extra, ob alles okay wäre - super!
Auch sonst ist einiges an Unterhaltung geboten. Man kann in die Küche schauen, eine Champagnerflasche wird mit einer Art Säbel geköpft, diverse Speisen werden am Tisch zusammengestellt und serviert. Sehr schön.
Als sich das Lokal allerdings relativ zügig zu etwa einem Drittel füllte, war das Personal definitiv überfordert. Die Rechnung wurde zwischendurch vergessen und in Summe dauerte es gut eine Viertelstunde, bis wir sie hatten. Die Bezahlung danach war auch noch abenteuerlich (20min nun in Summe). Wir warten bis jemand kam, der dann auch nicht Bescheid wusste.
Beim Verlassen des Lokals sprach ich (hier einen anderen Kellner) noch mal auf das gute Steak an. Der zeigte sich nur sehr mäßig interessiert. Schade.
In Summe: Sehr gute Küche, ein (!) sehr guter Kellner, die anderen waren überfordert. Das wären eigentlich maximal 3 von 5.
Aufgrund des guten Essens, Aussicht, Atmosphäre jedoch 4 von 5.

Vorspeise wurde einfach auf den Tisch gestellt ohne dass uns gesagt wurde dass diese etwas kostet. Grenzt an Abzocke. Das Essen selbst war einigermaßen in Ordnung. Die Kellner waren freundlich, auch wenn wir zum Teil sehr sehr lange auf sie warten mussten.

Das Essen und die Aussicht sind der Hammer! Leider war der Service schlecht, wir wurden lange nicht gesehen bis wir bestellt hatten, ähnlich lange hat es gedauert bis wir bezahlen durften. Couvert (Brot und Olivenöl etc) wurde einfach auf den Tisch gestellt obwohl es Aufpreis kostet.
Fazit: schade, dass es nach Touri-Restaurant aussieht, denn das Essen ist wirklich super!

Un restaurant placut, situat la buza falezei, cu vedere spectaculoasa la Atlantic.
Locatia este aproape eleganta, curata, aerisita.
Mancarea deosebita, foarte aspectoasa dar extrem de putina. Se pare ca aici predomina impresia artistica. Dar care costa cam mult. In concluzie, vii flamand si pleci tot asa , dar mai usor la portofel.

First off, the location of this restaurant is absolutely amazing, the view is jaw breaking. The food is out of this world, take the prawns as a starter, it is marvelous.
Only downside, the octopus of my girlfriend was so out that a little bit of oil popped on her.
But since the food is a clear 6/5, I give them (only) 5/5.
It is a bit pricy but the high quality makes it worth it totally.
p.s. dont buy wine at their winery, its more expansive than on the street

What's good about this restaurant is the view! That's definitely one of the greatest things here. The service was very quick and spoke good English (sometimes even annoyingly good English, not even giving me the chance to practise my Portuguese...), which gave this restaurant a kind of touristy atmosphere.
The food as such was good. The main was a bit weak (we had lobster and beef), but the starter (shrimps) and dessert (chocolate) was superb!
What I didn't like are two things, which also explains the -2 stars: They charged us the couvert, which we didn't order. They just brought it to us. That seemed just very greedy to me. Moreover, the service in general seemed super agressive. The waiters (several of them!) constantly asked us if everything was fine, steadily offering us a second round of something, which got annoying after a while.
So, if you can stand the touristy feeling, I'd recommend you went there. It's good food, but definitely not an authentic experience.

Faites attention. Lors d'une réservation par téléphone, tout était ok , mais dès que nous avons dit deux personnes, il n'y avait plus de place!! Ce n'est pas sérieux.
Be careful. When booking by phone for dinner, it was ok, but when we said for two persons, there wasn't anymore places available!!
This atitude is not serious.

Estuvimos esperando más de 40 minutos a que nos sirvieran la cena, así como el resto de mesas de nuestro alrededor. Preguntamos si había algún problema en cocina y nos dijeron que no. Pedimos dos platos principales y una ensalada, y cuando por fin llegaron, vineron primero los dos platos y después pusieron la ensalada (debían de pensar que la queríamos de postre).
El camarero después de terminar la cena nos ofrece unos chupitos (entendemos que gratuitos por la espera) pero ¡para nada! cuando vino la cuenta nos los habían cobrado. Le comento que me parece vergonzoso y me dice que tengo que hablar con su encargado. Finalmente no hablamos con él, pagamos (encima muy caro relacionado con el resto de restaurantes de la zona) y nos fuimos.
Cero recomendado considerando que hay una amplia oferta por la zona.

Poor service - not well versed when asked for wine recommendations. Bounced around to three different people. Glass empty, no wine refills from the waiter. Similar story for water. Asked for pepper, did not arrive till prior to main course.
Food fairly tasteless - ordered the prawn ceviche and scallops with papaya. Combined over 21 eur however, very tasteless and small portions. Overall quite disappointed with this as a dining experience.
Writing this as I await my main course. Not looking forward to it given how overpriced it is for the quality...
When the bill came, the waiter even had the audacity to say even if it's terrible food you still have to pay having seen the review. Would not come back here

La comida, el servicio y las instalaciones están bien. Pero es excesivamente caro. Hay muchos restaurantes en portimao con mejor comida y a mejor precio. No es normal que por una copa de vino verde (5,50€) cobren lo mismo que por media botella en la mayoría de restaurantes de la zona.

We went for a lovely meal here for my girlfriends birthday. We had an exceptional meal with great service so would highly recommend. I suppose it's a little dearer than other restaurants in the area but well worth it. 3 course meal for 2 with an excellent bottle of Portuguese wine (recommended to us by the sommelier) was €100, which given ththe quality of the food was great value in my eyes.

For me, the best restaurant in Portimao region...food is excellent (I've tried pretty much the whole menu!) staff are friendly and attentive. The view from the terrace is fantastic, a great spot at sunset. Well worth a visit..... or two!!

Excellente cuisine, raffinée, élégante sur une terrasse surplombant Praia da rocha. Un peu plus cher qu'ailleurs, certes, mais qualité hautement superieure: donc c'est normal. Service très attentif et sympathique. A ne pas louper !

Went there a week ago and we loved every aspect of the experience, being the warm welcome, the smile from the people who work there, the delicious risottos with fish or chicken and a well recommended rosé wine. Keep it up, the service is top !!

We stumbled upon this restaurant in 2013 on trip advisor, we had tried to call a few places to book, having only been answered by this restaurant. Things definetly do happen for a reason! We've been coming here every year ever since, and have not once been disappointed. The menu is based on Portuguese cuisine but with a modern, sophisticated twist. The wine menu is also grand with diverse options of wines for different pallets (and pockets). Last but not least, the staff and host, Ricardo, are always so kind and friendly, having offered an excellent dining experience each time. Definetly a 5 stars.
