Nothing special about the food in comparison to some restaurants we ate in along the Algarve. Expensive, beware of hidden costs for bread, butter, fish pate at beginning of meal. Service poor, with over familiar in your face owner. Would not recommend at all.

What a place ... Chico is a real character, made us feel at home, great food, booze and staff .. can’t praise his main man and the young waiter enough... Chico is a very chatty man... very reasonable prices for high quality food ... who was that man standing next too the Pope ;).. will be back to Portugal soon and Chico’s will be a definite visit for us

Consistently a good place to eat. Carlos knows his wines and will choose you a decent one dependant on your tastes. We had the monkfish rice which we have eaten before. Nicely cooked, fish was good. If being super critical would like a bit more flavour in the soup/sauce. This is a sharing dish. Our friend had a seafood pasta which was good. I have read that people are disappointed because they charge for butter on its own. We spoke to Carlos and hd explained that they had to do this under Portuguese law. If you ask for the "cover" then they can't re-use if you choose not eat it as in the hot weather it will be ruined. We were treated to some Grappa/Ouzo styled fire water at the end.....blew our mouths, but very enjoyable. We will visit again.

We saw the restaurant listed in a magazine that was in our room. Took a little walk and found it
.very friendly atmosphere..the owner ,Francisco "Chico"..himself seated us
.Our waiter Ilyia was very good and informative of the menu..our fellow diners were also very genial..which helps make for a great dining experience..My boyfriend chose a seafood salad with calamari and vegetables and a chowder.I ordered the lamb chops with fresh cut fries and a side salad
.Chico brought us both a glass of white wine
Delicious..We were both very pleased with the restaurant,meal and service

Chico was a fantastic host! We had a lovely dinner for a very reasonable price. The fireman's sausage was amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better meal. Leave the tourist trap and go eat with Chico. You won't be disappointed.

Excelente atendimento!
O restaurante possui piscina e tem atendimento personalizado. Os colaboradores são extremamente cordiais, disponíveis e atenciosos. Tivemos a sorte também de conhecer o proprietário (O senhor Chico) que nos tratou de forma super acolhedora dando nos a provar azeitonas e um licor caseiro.
Por duas pessoas pagámos 34.50€ (vejam as fotos) que para a zona não é um valor alto principalmente comendo peixe grelhado.
Recomendo e gostaria de voltar um dia.
Ao senhor Chico e a equipe que tornou este almoço possível um muito obrigada!

Ce fut la meilleure expérience Portugaise que j'ai vécu! Non seulement culinaire, mais aussi humaine. D'une part vous avez des aliments ultra frais, plein de goût et cuisinés avec amour ; d'autre part vous avez un service qui s'investit à fond et qui veut partager un maximum avec vous. N'hésitez surtout pas à passer dîner en amoureux si vous voulez une expérience portugaise authentique et éviter les attrape-touristes.

Wonderful find just a block or two from the marina. Its surely worth the walk.. The sangria ( both white and red ) were light and delish. Chico himself greets you at the table. Good food and atmosphere!!

One of the best places we've been. My wife and I went to Chico's for lunch and the whole experience was amazing from start to end.
The servers were very friendly and welcoming and gave us really good food suggestions. The food was very authentic and delicious, particularly the Sea bass and the Portuguese chorizo.
Would highly recommend Chico's to everyone.

Restaurante calmo, agradável, ideal para um almoço ou jantar em família com tranquilidade. Atendimento eficaz e simpático, comida normal sem nada a apontar mas também sem nenhuma inovação. Carta de vinhos regular, e por fim para terminar, preços dentro do que é o Algarve no Verão, sempre em exagero. Fica nota positiva, um restaurante que certamente poderemos voltar a repetir.

I have been in Chico's several times and been always satisfied. I would highly recommend fresh fishes and cod fish pie. You get a really great food for a reasonable price. Also service is very friendly and it is always nice experience to be there. It is worth to do a few steps from marina and try Chico's. Thank you Chico, Carlos and Maria! Best from the little Alex.

Leider haben wir das Chico's erst relativ am Ende unseres Urlaubes entdeckt, sonst wären wir täglich hier her gegangen. Das Essen ist sehr lecker, das Personal sehr freundlich und die Preise absolut in Ordnung. Kein Vergleich zu den überzogenen Preisen der Tourimeilen. Wenn wir Mal wieder in der Gegend sind, kommen wir öfter her.

Só gostam dos estrangeiros. Os portugueses são mal tratados e olhados de lado. Quando não têm clientes estrangeiros então disputam os portugueses.
Infelizmente os salários são baixos e não acompanham os do resto da Europa.
Deviam ser mais atenciosos com os da terra.

O bacalhau estava divino, a linguiça no fogo também e , o cordeiro, espetacular. a sobremesa , bolacha com sorvete e chocolate fechou o jantar com chave de ouro. Ganhamos o vinho do Porto para que não saíssemos sem a combinação dos céus. E, meu Deus, que serviço! If you want to taste the true essence, soul and food of Portugal, don’t miss Chico’s. The best experience in Algarve so far! The codfish was amazing , the chorizo on fire also and the lamb , incredible! The dessert , biscuit with ice cream and chocolate ended the dinner in a perfect way! We got the Porte wine to not leave there without the combination. And oh my god , what a great service !!! Amazing people and staff, that represent the true sweet Portuguese culture . Acceuil convivial , patron exceptionnel parlant plusieurs langues, dont le français.
La nourriture proposée est de qualité et suffisante. Wifi gratuit. Et prix plus que correct. 2 personnes avec vin pour moins de 50euro.

Food was really tasty and not expensive for the quality and service that they offer! Staff is really kind and generous. We came a bit late at night and they kept the restaurant open for us. I'd come again for sure. I ordered the Lubina and it was meaty and tasty. Average price of 20e per person.

This place is amazing. We came here twice. The atmosphere is great and the food Is delicious. Chico and his staff are brilliant. We can recomend all the food we ate there on both occasions. For starters, we had the squid, mushrooms, sardines and garlic prawns. For mains we've had seabass for 2, prawn liguini and salmon. All puddings are lovely and the sangria was delicious. Dont hesitate to go, it's a Portuguese family run business and I would definately go again. A great find.

You probaly pay 15€ per Meal. I would say it’s a typical Tourist-Trap. The service is very bad because the waiter doesnt ask if you want to drink something. You get bread with little tiny package of butter like in a bad Breakfast Buffet. The food is the same like the aquarium.

What can I say? We ordered our food and were promptly brought some bread, olives, butter, sardine pate and thinly sliced carrots ..... ‘just to keep us going’ till the food was ready. It was all very nice and tasty. There was a slight language misunderstanding so we also ended up with some cheese which we actually didn’t need but which was really good.
We ordered deep fried mackerel and a shrimp starter both of which lacked presentation but were quite delicious.
However, to say the ‘beef’ steak which followed was chewy would be an understatement. It was tasteless, swimming in its own juice and surrounded by a rim of potato fritters which were needless to say quite soggy. Veg were obviously an extra because we didn’t get any!
We had two small desserts.... no cream or even so much as a tiny piece of fruit for presentation. We then received a complimentary thimbleful of white fire which nearly blew our socks off but in no way prepared us for a bill of almost 70 euros, for which I would expect an outstanding meal.
Although the staff are very pleasant, Chico himself is full of unnecessary banter and would do well to give his guests just a little bit more space and also let them know that everything that goes on the table goes on the bill!!
To be fair, the holiday makers who recommended Chicos to us were very pleased with their experience there and the restaurant itself is very nice.

Tout simplement délicieux, nous y sommes retournés 2 fois en deux jours, la morue en gratin est la meilleure que j'ai mangé au Portugal ainsi que la sangria rouge/blanche qui sont les meilleures que j'ai bu dans ma vie
Le personnel ( chicos) est d'une gentillesse naturel toujours au petit soin pour vous servir
Si vous repartez sans avoir testé ce restaurant vous aurez vraiment manqué une cuisine maison et délicieuse typique du Portugal

Horrible food. They charge you for tab of butter. Give bread then charge you for each piece. Each cup of ice. Etc i really hate this place. Aviod. There are so many great places to eat nearby. Dont settle for this nickel and dime joint.

Myself and my wife have been visiting Chico,s for many years brilliant food full size pool for patrons use.the outside area had a big refurb this year and is even better than ever. Chico himself is a great guy who likes to get to know everyone that visits his restaurant

Un restaurant très sympathique, à deux pas de la marina. Loin des restos chers, pas très bon et impersonnels que l'on trouve à la marina, ce restaurant sert de bons plats, typiques, faits maison et le patron est d'une gentillesse rare. Son sens de l'accueil est vraiment le meilleur du coin.

Spent the afternoon there on day of departure. Staff could not have been more accommodating. The kids passed time in the impressive pool while we enjoyed a nice meal and a couple of drinks. Despite the long time we were there never felt we had overstayed our welcome. Much the best way to spend that time vacating the apartment and the evening flight.

No se puede permitir que en Portugal por mucho que estés en lo más turístico de este país (vilamoura-algarve), te den de "comer" como en Chico's. Lo único bueno: la piscina, sí has leído bien, tiene piscina, por lo que te podrás dar un baño antes (o después) de comer.
La única estrella que le doy es por la piscina. El resto horroroso: frango grelhado con piri-piri, cuatro trozos de pollo (4 minúsculos trocitos de pollo) con 4 patatas fritas, un trozo de lechuga y un trozo de tomate.... ¿esto es un prato do día? vamos hombre, de vergüenza. Un bacalao con nata con sabor a ... nada. Eso sí, estaba a 100°, más o menos la temperatura que hacía en la terraza... pido una botella de agua grande y se lleva el tapón. ¿sitio familiar? ni siquiera pedimos postre, no había nada casero, solo unas cosas congeladas de carte d'or. Decepcionante.

Muy buen restaurante en el centro de Vilamoura. Es un restaurante familiar con comida casera que mantiene precios muy bajos para lo que se mueve en la zona. Recomiendo pollo al piri piri.
Los camareros son muy amables.
De día se puede usar la piscina.
