I was in Lisbon for a few days but will wanted to practice there. First contact with Isa on mail / SMS / WhatsApp was really warm and friendly. I would have liked to know her but she was not the teacher giving the class I assist. The teacher was really good though. Juliana was really profesional, attentive, patient and kind. The Mysore classe with her was really nice. I also appreciated a lot the very beautiful shala and all the spatious common rooms. I just found that the location is a bit far but the quality of the school seems worth it ! I would definitively come back :)

Beautiful shala in the heart of Lisbon. Very relaxed atmosphere, no pressure exerted - you can truly work on healing in your own pace (yoga chikitsa - yoga therapy). The teachers Isa, Liz, Margarida, Anna etc. are highly attentive, friendly, energetic and knowledgeable. Always present with you no matter how crowded the place might be during a "typical rush hour", giving lovely assists and helpful verbal cues. Big Plus: The shala currently has extended opening hours during the day from 7am - 3pm (next to the evening slots), hence no need to hurry in any way.

A bit hard to find due to lack of signage - press 5E when you arrive. It also wasn’t open when I tried the first time (website did not advise they were closed over New Year). In fact, I was a bit early when I did arrive the second time and I found I needed to just start, despite not really remembering the sequence. I’m more of a vinyasa flow practitioner rather than following Pattabhi Jois’s primary series. The teacher gave me adjustments once he arrived but did not have any sequencing sheets. In all honesty, I felt completely out of place with my jumbled up memory of primary series and felt anxious throughout the practice, something unfamiliar to me in yoga but perhaps a good thing. I’m only passing through Lisbon as part of travels but I imagine if you come regularly and are a genuine Ashtanga practitioner, this would be a great place to practice, close to the train station, with the teachers fluent in English & Portuguese. Thus the rating, despite my fairly average experience.
