Kleiber was a great tour guide! We did two tours with him, one in Alfama and one in Belém. He is very knowledgeable, patient, and very helpful in giving us tips to maximize our time in Lisbon. Highly recommend his tours!

We did the Baixa, Alfama and Belém Tour and they were great, especially with Jose! It was our first time in Lisbon and the tours were very informative and fun, Jose took his time to answer every question you could possible have, had nice insider information and a lots to tell about Lisbon and the history! We highly recommend the tours!

I have been traveling the world for a year and I had two English walking tour with Jose today. I have to say he is the top 3 walking tour guide I have ever met so far. He is really into the history of the city and the way he elaborate the knowledge is amazing not like other tour guide where they just read sentences. I highly recommend him. If you come to Lisbon, you can't go wrong with him.

Went on one of these on Saturday 11th May 11am and our tour guide was the lovely Kate Burley
She was an absolute delight as a guide, very attentive and interactive, enthusiastic and full of very interesting facts. We really enjoyed it and would definitely go on one of these again

We took the Belém tour with Jose. This was a really interesting tour which gave us an insight in historic facts/events, with an excellent tour guide. He was very well informed (and therefore able to answer all questions), very motivated and positive/lively.

El guia no se presento y fuimos al punto de encuentro para nada. No pudimos realizar excusion porque ibamos con crucero y solo estabamos esa tarde en Lisboa. Me llego un email de cancelación del tour 4 horas mas tarde de la hora del tour.

We joined Jose on his tour on whim and never regretted it. He gave us a perfect tour of Alfama with just the right mixture of background knowledge, historical facts and local folklore. After the tour Jose gave us a lot of very helpful information to continue our visit in Lisbon. Highly recommended!

absolute recommendation!
I was so content with the first tour (Alfarma) that I directly booked the next one (Belem) the next day. The tour guides are very friendly, speak perfect english and have a lot to tell. If you want to discover Lisbon districts with a bit of background and structure - go for it!
The groups had a decent size as well (approx. 10).

Great tour, showed us so much of the city in 2 and a half hours. Ivan gave us a great historical background of the city and the sights. He showed us what Fado music is and the street of Fado singers. Great experience. Would highly recommend to anyone who would like to see Lisbon!

Even though it was raining and we were only two guests Jose took the time to show us around!
He had a capturing and interesting way of telling historic stories. Our Guide was charismatic and Entertaining and a great person to spend the afternoon with. Jose was very well informed and could answer all our questions, from historical, cultural to culinarial. He was open minded and adapted to our interests on what we'd like to see.
Further more he gave us great recommendations on where we can eat, go and which local wine tastes good.
We would recommend this tour to anyone who'd like to experience Lissabon in it's pure charm.

Enrolled into this walking tour by luck and was totally worth it and beyond it . Kle was amazing. He made sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying the tour . So much knowledge about Lisbon and the culture, he said he came hwre and fell in love for this beautiful place and I’m sure he will cascades the same into you. Definitely must do in Lisbon! :) one will love it

My husband and I are in Lisbon for the first time from the US and thoroughly enjoyed everything about the tour with our guide, Kleiber. We learned a TON about Portuguese history as well as about how the attractions are laid out in the city and the best things to do and see. Kleiber was very knowledgable and patient with our many questions. I highly recommend this tour as something to do on your first day in Lisbon so you can get a feel for the city and what you'd like to do with the rest of your time there!

Despite not being a native Portugese Kleiber knows the ins and outs of the city. He's strongly passionate about his profession and kindly shared his knowledge of Lisbon's rich history. We also really appreciated him offering the tour even though we were the only tourists to attend - he genuinly cared and did not want us to miss out on Lisbon's greatest sights. I've been living in Lisbon but signed up for the tour when two American friends came to town to get a sense of the history and culture of Alfama neighborhood. A few of the anecdotes I was familiar with, but there was so much more information that was new to me than I expected! Sara was a total delight and made the day super fun, and really spent a lot of time during and after sharing some of her insider knowledge. I will likely do another tour in a different area when other friends come to visit!

The first thing your should do when you get to Lisbon. Our tour guide Sara took us through the neighborhood of Alfama which was incredible. She was very knowledgeable about the history of Lisbon as well as offering a bunch of great recommendations for restaurants and other sightseeing. Having got the experience of the city through the eyes of someone who lives there and knows about it madea world of difference. Sara also showed us where to get the best Ghinjia and pastel de nata in the city! This is a must for anyone who is coming to visit.

First things first: hands down, a wonderful tour that i would recommend to anyone!
cons:
-If you're immobile or have difficulty walking then a walking tour is probably not for you.
Pros:
-Perfect walking distance and appropriate breaks along the way. Did not feel tired or winded.
-Very knowledgeable guides (we had Joana and Samuel) that are also great story tellers and always had answers to my questions.
-Even if you come prepared with lots of research about Lisbon (as I did) you'll still learn a lot and will have a great time.
-During and at the end of tour you receive personalized recommendations on where to go next, best places to eat, etc...
-Lastly, you'll receive an email with a group photo at the end of your tour, in case you want to share.
I cannot recommend this tour enough. Will definitely repeat on our next travels!

Had a great tour around Lisbon. Our tour guide José was incredibly friendly, knowledgable and had plenty of very interesting stories and facts. I learnt a lot about the culture, history and areas of the city.

We did the Belem walking tour with Jose who is well knowledged of local history, quite entertaining and friendly. Later we learned that he was a law professional but love theater art and he is filming a television show. What a charming character! Being at his tour is one of the highlights in our Lisbon trip. At the end, I feel I haven't tip him enough by the service and good time we had with him.

One of the best free tours I've taken in Europe. Our guide Ricardo told us a lot of history and celebrity stories of Lisbon. I also like the comics of history near the sunrise view point.
Although the storm is causing a not pleasant weather, I still enjoyed the walking tour. Really recommend!

I took the Alfama tour with guide Sara. It was the best walking tour ever! She took care of every single person on the tour. She is funny and very friendly, energetic and knowledgable, as well. I loved the Ginginha shot, too! Alfama is definitely more interesting with a guided tour! I highly recommend it!

Our guide Kleiber was the best guide we have ever had. He took us to so many places we would never have found without his help and all in the limited time that we had! He is very informative and an absolute gem of a person. I would absolutely recommend Hi Lisbon Walking Tours. Lisbon is a beautiful city and thanks to Hi Lisbon Walking Tours we are no longer strangers here. We only wish we had more time to explore and go on a few more tours of different places with Kleiber. What a great guy! Thank you for everything.

We’re very satisfied after our free walking fours with Joana (Alfama) and Samuel (Baixa-Chiado). We didn’t spend much time in Lisbon, but thanks to them we know a lot about this beautiful city.

Incredible tour! Samuel guided us, and during that 2,5 hours he told us many stories, legends, made us try the best tarts and liqueurs in the city, and shared other helpful tips. Definitely recommended!

My tour guide was Samuel and I couldn’t have been more pleased with his tour! I did the Alfama tour and absolutely loved it. He was very informative yet also very entertaining. All around a great tour, definitely the best walking tour I have ever done. If you’re in Lisbon, I would definitely recommend you do this tour. You learn so much about the city, it’s history, architecture etc. and he sent us a list of recommendations for things to do around the city after the tour.

I did the Belem tour and enjoyed it a lot. The guide was very knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. He was able to answer all our questions and gave us good recommendations. The tour covers all main attractions of Belem. Very happy with it!

Great tour. Lots of information given but in a very engaging manner. Any questions that I had were answered straight away showing the guide had excellent knowledge! I can't remember his name (Brazilian man) but our guide was lovely too and not at all pushy with regards to money !

We had the best experience with Kleiber. Thank you for your positivity, flexibility and great organisation!
Kleiber met us at our property which was the most comfortable option. He took us through the best spots of Lisbon.
Our group is young professionals from all over the world and Kleiber related to them right on point. He gave the information his group wanted to hear, ideas for the activities for young people and in general, he kept a great balance between historic facts and information which is new. Great interaction and way of keep them interested in the tour!
We will definitely use these services (and ask for Kleiber for sure!) next year!

One of the best free walking tours I did! Jose, our guide, was extremely nice and forthcoming. I did a couple of free tours already and always enjoyed them. Even did another one in Lisbon but have to say: The one with Jose really stands out by far. From start to finish we all felt very welcome and taken care of. The tour was funny, relaxed, all questions were answered and gave a good insight into Portuguese history and Lisbon. Jose seems to have a secret profession as a history teacher because he seemed extremely knowledgeable, not only about the tour but a wide range of topics. I would highly recommend this provider and specifically walking around with Jose!

It was awesome! Not only was Jose very personable, but tour with him certainly deepened my understanding of Alfama and Lisbon/Portugal's cultural history in such a short amount of time. This experience has set a high bar for my future free walking tours!

Without a doubt, one of the best walking tours we've ever done - and we do a LOT! We had the lovely Kate as tour guide, a very knowledgeable and passionate 'adopted local' who shared the history in a very interesting way. I've had mixed feelings about Portugal in the last month that we've been travelling around - love the wilderness but just didn't seem to quite click with the culture (and cuisine). Turns out I just really needed to know a lot more about both and be more proactive about researching the history etc Kate literally changed my opinion of the entire country :)) and, as a consequence, I took us on a culinary and historical (self guided) tour de force through Belem the next day. Awesome, thanks Kate (sorry about Chris and his endless questions!) for showing us Lisbon through your eyes. Excellent walking tour, highly recommended!

Simply the best free tour. Kate our tour guide took us around Alfama and she is amazing. Our whole group had a great time, we walked and talked and she remembered each person was accounted for on the tour, she made sure we had fun, we ate pastel de nata, we drunk liquor, we had a great time. At the end she sent us an email with great tips about Lisbon apart from speaking to us each individually and answering our questions about the city. A great day out in Lisbon.

Wir waren etwas spät dran und haben uns wirklich beeilt eine der Free Touren zu erwischen. Wir waren sehr froh als wir dann noch die orangenen Schirme auf dem Platz gesehen haben. Als wir dann freundlich gefragt haben, ob es sich um die Free Tour handelt kam nur ein kurzer Satz das die Tour voll wäre. Sowas kaltes haben wir bei einer Free Tour noch nicht erlebt, und wir haben wirklich schon viele mitgemacht. Danach hat sich die Dame einfach umgedreht und uns stehen lassen. Der Sinn einer Tour ist doch, dass man sich dort schnell anschließen kann und nicht alles verbuchen muss. Das man dann einfach mit einem Satz so stehen gelassen wird und von der restliche Gruppe mitleidig angeschaut wird ist echt traurig. Das sollte die Free Tour in Lissabon dringend ändern. Zur Tour können wir verständlicherweise nichts sagen. Wir durften ja nicht daran teilnehmen.

Highly reccomend these walking tours, the guides are very friendly and knowledgeable. I got to learn many things about the history and culture of Lisbon, as well as some ancecdotes you wouldn't find on a written guide. The walk is easy and accessible for people of all ages and abilities. Doesn't require a high level of commitment. I followed the Belém walking tour, which ended at the Tower of Belém, and after that we were free to wander around the area, our guide also suggested places to visit and helped us figure out how to get there.

I went on the Alfama walking tour with tour guide Kate. They normally don't take more than 20 people, so make sure you book ahead. The tour itself was really interesting and at the end Kate gave us all a list of recommendations for Lisbon. Our tour lasted nearly 3 hours (with a break in the middle) but it could have easily gone on longer. It was an excellent walking tour and I would recommend it to anyone.

The Belem tour started off from praca do comercio. I received a detailed instruction prior to the start. We took the train from Cais do Sodre to Belem.
Kleiber gave very good explanation of the history and back story of various places and landmarks as we wander the storied cobbled streets.
We even got a chance to enjoy the original pasteis de Belém (or Portuguese egg tart as I know it).
Overall great experience and well planned route. Kleiber was very generous in giving advise and recommendations either in leaving Belem or further continuing the exploration there.

We have been signing Saturday morning at the last moment, and it was really worth it.
The tour was guided by Jose who traveled us threw Belem, following a lot of explanations and historical points.
The tour had a really nice vibes and would recommend it!

Great tour guides -- book with José if possible! I did the Baixa-Chiado and Alfama/Mouraria walking tours with José, both in different group sizes and both provided a different, enjoyable experience each time. It is well-worth looking into the Hi Lisbon tours, especially when you first arrive into the city. I cannot recommend it enough and I hope to be back soon to partake in their other tours!

We went on the Alfama Tour, our guide was Kleiber. He was extremely knowledgable and engaging. As well as covering all the interesting topics you'd expect from a walking tour, he was also full of good tips and local knowledge for food, drinks and activities.

Lasting about 2 hours, maybe more, this tour was great. The guide, Clay ( couldn’t catch his full name) was really good. He ensured everyone was informed and any stragglers didn’t get lost. Particularly with the Alfama area we got too see places we otherwise wouldn’t have. This is a free walking tour but you tip the guide what you think the tour was worth- my view is 10+ e.

We visited Lisbon a few months ago and having read the reviews of Hi Lisbon Walking Tours we thought we’d give it a go.
The tour was absolutely fantastic, Kleibor was exceptionally knowledgable regarding the city and its sights and he took us to places we wouldn’t have possibly discovered otherwise.
We can’t recommend this tour enough, if you’re in Lisbon definitely look up Hi Lisbon, you won’t be disappointed.

Well, dont have enough words to describe how amazing was my time in Lisbon with Kleiber. I visited Alfama, one of the most traditional neighborhoods on the city and was mind blown. I highly recommend Hi Lisbon for everyone who visit Lisbon and want to have an amazing experience.
