Incredible apartments with unbelievably high standard of service, hospitality and thoughtful touches. We are definitely coming back to visit Maja & Mario for relaxation, surf coaching, yoga, great food and company! Thanks for everything!

The house is beautiful, just next to everything, the view from our window was amazing, charming staff and beautiful plants in the room and common spaces made it very special and home-like. I think it’s a perfect place not only for surfing but just relaxing holidays.

We had a awesome time there. Maja and Mario were so helpful and welcoming. The house was perfectly clean and well organized. You can get surfboards, yogamatts and a lot of more stuff you can get. I can absolutely recommend this nice house close to everything!!!

If need a place to stay in Baleal, this is the spot: Perfect house, super comfortable organised and clean, bedrooms with ocean view, walking distance to several surf spots and Amazing staff always available and helpful. Recommend it A LOT!

I just got back to Lisbon after my quick bus ride from Baleal/Thalassaphilia. I feel *completely refreshed*! When I checked in I was a bit run down from lots of work, paired with nonstop travel and constant communication with clients; in just 4 days at Thalassophilia I feel completely reset!!! I didn’t even spend any time at the beach even though it was gorgeous weather! The room I spent my time in (private room up top) was such so incredible that I really didn’t even need to go anywhere for the reset! I loved falling asleep to the sound of ocean waves, walking everywhere, being so close to the amazing cliffs, and the overall vibe (and cleanliness!) of the home. Thank you Maja and Mario for your amazing hospitality. I am so excited to tell all my friends and family about this place. See you soon! Danielle

Ha sido un auténtico acierto pasar nuestras vacaciones en casa de Maja y Mario. Son unas personas encantadoras y la casa es espectacular. Dos minutos andando a la playa, con servicios cerca. Nosotros solo usamos el coche para ir a cenar. Las habitaciones están impecables y la decoración es ideal. Nosotros estuvimos en una que tiene terraza y ver las puestas de sol desde ahí es genial. Las zonas comunes están muy bien y tienes de todo en la cocina. Y Mario es profesor de surf por lo que si necesitáis uno os lo recomiendo por propia experiencia. No tengo nada que decir malo y es que aun encima quieren un montón a su perrito Maui. Gracias por hacernos sentir como en casa chicos!!! ----------------- It has been a real success to spend our holidays at the house of Maja and Mario. They are lovely people and the house is spectacular. Two minutes walk to the beach, with services nearby. We only use the car to go to dinner. The rooms are immaculate and the decoration is ideal. We were in one that has a terrace and watching the sunsets from there is great. The common areas are very good and you have everything in the kitchen. And Mario is a surf teacher so if you need one I recommend it from your own experience. I have nothing to say bad and they still want a lot of their puppy Maui. Thanks for making us feel at home guys !!!

Maja and Mario’s place was perfect. Stylish decor, exceptionally clean, friendly vibe. You can come here as a couple, a single or a group. They have thought of everything you might possibly need, and want to know about it if they haven’t. The location is a stone’s throw from the cliffs overlooking the quieter side of the beach (there are little pathways to get down to small bays which you’ll have all to yourself) so it’s nice and quiet. You’re also 5 mins walk from the more populated beaches and all the action. There’s a handy supermarket on the way. Maja and Mario are super friendly and helpful, and will offer up recommendations for places to go, where to eat etc. Mario is a surf instructor, and whilst I didn’t take any lessons myself, he talks about it passionately and I’d bet he’s a great teacher. I’m a solo traveller, and Maja and Mario made me feel welcomed like a friend. My first night they invited me out for dinner, and another night out for drinks. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back here.

We had an amazing stay at Thalassophilia! The location is perfect, very close to the beach, and the rooms are lovely with an amazing view over the ocean. Maja & Mário are wonderful hosts; they made us feel at home right from the start and could not have been more helpful. They even organised a very tasty and fun bbq diner with friends, which we were more than welcome to join. Mário also provided us with good surfing gear. Highly recommend this place!
