We were looking for a wine bar and landed here. Good wine and food. We found the staff to be a mix of very friendly and very cold depending on who we interacted with, but we are tourists and only speak English so I’m sure that can be frustrating for some staff. They were very friendly with the locals.

The WORST experience in Lisbon. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. We were sitting at the bar without being acknowledged for over 15 mins and finally got to order only by waving our hands to get the attention from the staff, who were basically right in front of us. (Surprisingly, they all seemed to excel at the art of “not making eye contact with you”.)
We know it’s common here in Lisbon to wait a bit longer for the service, but in this place the staff are just IGNORING THE GUESTS (or only wait certain people). You can find it in other reviews that people have similar experience before and it just kept repeating.
For us the most shocking part was when we asked for the bill and we waited for another 15 mins seeing them come and go preparing to close the bar(it’s near the closing time). We were not seeking attentive service or friendly smiles, but at least TRY acknowledging your customers okay?
DO NO RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. There are plenty of wine bars in the city.

The service was extremely bad, the food was at best mediocre and the prices are very high for Lisbon standard. Some wines aren’t bad, but the list isn’t very large and don’t expect any good recommendation.

The best thing about this place is the ceiling. Totally underwhelming otherwise. Mediocre wine that you can tell is mass produced. Inattentive and rude service. Food was good, but a lot of places have good food. Skip it.

음식 맛은 좋았습니다. 저희는 레몬에이드, 맥주, 문어 카파시오, 대구 샐러드를 주문했습니다. 문어 카파시오는 올리브유와 후추 향이 문어와 잘 어울리더군요. 가운데 야채와 함께 먹으면 더 풍부한 맛을 느낄 수 있습니다. 특히 마지막의 고수의 향이 음식에 또 새로운 풍미를 더합니다.
대구 샐러드는 빝에 콩 같은 게 나오는데, 시큼한 맛이 나더군요. 나쁠 정도는 아니지만, 혹시나 음식이 상한 게 아닌가 생각이 들 수 있습니다. 가운데 노란 게 바칼라우, 대구 살입니다. 꽤나 짭잘하기 때문에 빵과 함께 드시는 것을 추천드립니다.
레몬에이드는 설탕을 전혀 첨가하지 않은 상태로 줍니다. 왠만하면 설탕을 많이 넣어서 드시기 바랍니다.
음식 맛은 좋았지만 아쉬운 점이 있는 식당이었습니다. 원래 문어 카파시오가 아닌 다른 문어 요리를 시키려고 했었는데, 재료가 준비되지 않았다고 하더군요. 맥주도 craft beer를 주문했지만 재고가 없어 일반 맥주로 바꿨습니다.
추천받은 메뉴를 먹을 생각에 찾아간 곳에서 그 요리를 먹을 수 없다면 상당히 곤란하겠죠. 특히나 여행기간이 짧고 먼 곳에서 오는 우리 입장에서는 아쉬움이 클 수밖에 없습니다.

A winery-owned double barrel of fun. First, the wine is fun, inexpensive by the glass, to drink in or out. It's not for the discerning oenophile. The wine is meant for quaffing and the fun atmosphere matches. Second, the food, service, venue are all first rate. The service stood out for us: a glass of wine at the door while we waited just minutes for a barrel table, then nice casual conversation and more attentive service than most of Lisbon. We didn't have a reservation and stopped into this packed joint and were happy with the back room, but the front is a stunning tunnel of bottles that stands out especially at night with the light. Cheers! Muito bom!

É fabulosa a experiência de passar uma tarde a comer e beber ao balcão. Também há mesas e barris, sobretudo para a hora de ponta, mas nada iguala a experiência do balcão. Só ou acompanhada de alguém com quem se tem uma conversa profunda que acompanha sempre o bebericar de um copo de vinho. Com a opção de acompanhar com o maravilhoso pão caseiro algarvio, 2 molhos e azeite. O molho de tomate sabe a gazpacho e é imperdível.
Ao todo são cerca de 60 referências de vinhos, segundo o site, mas na prática tem-se uma experiência fenomenal com um orçamento relativamente baixo. Há cada vez mais opções de petiscos para acompanhar o vinho. Recomendo vivamente a sandes de rosbife. Suculenta, com uma mostarda espetacular e uma coisas verdes (rúcula?). De frente para os vinhos disponíveis a copo, garrafa para consumo interno ou para levar, com um tecto em cúpula e uma parede forrados a garrafas verdes, este sítio tem muita pinta.

Os empregados sao excelentes e atenciosos e sempre atentos.
As tapas sao óptimas e tem uma boa selecção de vinhos.
Estava cheio e não reservámos, mas esperámos 5m e conseguiram nos sentar.
É sempre melhor reservar mesa.

I would have loved this place if it were more faster to be seated. Although i arrived there around 5 pm there were many empty tables. They wanted to place on a chair by the bar, but that even took 5 mins. They they made sure that i am going to also eat, then showed me a table.
The ambiance is good, the music they play is great.

Copa muy grande (y muy rica) de vino a un precio estupendo. El queso de Azeitao era el mejor que he tomado en Lisboa. El local es muy agradable y el servicio muy atento. Altamente recomendable para hacer una parada a descansar en un día de turismo.

nada de extraordinário , está bem para um restaurante casual. Experimentei 2 pratos, e fiquei desiludido, demasiado condimentado, conseguiram estragar as receita do chef Vintém. Até mesmo os ingleses ao meu lado não gostaram da comida, estavam a fazer caras feias, apenas do vinho, diziam eles valia a pena, os preços estão bem, cerca de 20€ pessoa, mas também para a qualidade até pode estar um pouco exagerado. Bom para experimentar, mas não para repetir.

Pleasant place to have a few glasses of wine. Love the fact that they give the option to buy the bottle to bring home for a realistic price.
It does have a bit too many stools for my liking. Also as far as I could tell all the wines are by the same house, which isn't ideal for a "wine bar"

Amazing bar for having a glass of wine and enjoying some meat, cheese or bread as well as an impressive food menu. The arches above are littered with wine bottles and the atmosphere is fantastic. The service was attentive and friendly. Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Lisbon and I am looking forward to going again!

Amazing atmosphere, drinks, location and food! You had to wait a little bit for a table but it’s worth it and it doesn’t take as long as you think (plus you can order wine while you wait). We asked the waiter for advice on which wines to try and he was super helpful!!

Eine tolle Bar mit Flair. Wie es der Name schon sagt ist die ganze Bar mit leeren Weinflaschen dekoriert. Und ja hier kriegt man tollen Wein. Schade das es meistens überfüllt ist, da sie eher wenig Platz bietet. Aber ein Besuch lohnt sich mit etwas Geduld bis man sitzen kann.

Ate here 02/03/19 on the recommendation from someone else. I was disappointed with the staff, and when the food finally came it made up for it slightly. We sat at the bar initially and no one acknowledged us, even to say hi, so we decided to sit at a table and persevere. The waitress, when we had her attention, was friendly, but as soon as she left our table it was hard to get a smile or attention from her. She wasn't interested for conversation with us or anyone else that I noticed sitting to eat. The food was good, but I'd be hard pressed to recommend this place.

Great bar with very delicious food and friendly service. We come here every time we’re in Lisbon. The wait might be a bit too long sometimes and the place seems a bit hectic but this is due to the fact that it’s become very popular. Nevertheless, we enjoy it and love the food - especially the salmon ceviche.

My friends and I were walking past this place and it looked really great inside with the wine bottle ceiling, so we decided to pop in for a drink. There was only one other couple there, and 2 bartenders. We sat at the bar directly in front of them and still had to wait almost 10 minutes before they acknowledged us (in an almost completely empty bar)! Finally, right in front of us, they decided to play a game of rock, paper, scissor, shoot (best out of 3) to decide who had to wait on us. Needless to say, we were shocked and appalled by this outwardly rude and immature behavior. We left the bar immediately without any drinks.
So while the bar looks stunning inside, the service is the WORST I have ever experienced in my 29 years of living. I would not recommend this bar to anyone. I can only imagine how terrible the service must be when they actually have more than 2 customers.
We were there Sunday, March 3rd sometime between 12 noon and 2pm.

Unwelcoming and rude staff. We walked in to get a table for 4. It was busy and we assumed there’d be a wait. We were told there was no room for us 4 and dismissed. I asked if there was a waiting list and she simply turned and walked away from me. Not sure if it’s because our kids were with us but Lisbon has been kind and friendly and we didn’t have any problems going into a wine bar last night or after we left this place. Disappointing to be treated terribly upon first impression.

Wow... I rarely use this word, but food and wine here are simply amazing. The lamb is tender and juicy with perfect gravy. Make sure you have a reservation though, or count on your luck. Staff is super friendly and professional. Also, their interior. It is worth to visit this place just to see their walls and ceilings.

Stumbled across this gem!!!! Didn’t try out the food but wine selection was impressive + affordable. Ended up drinking a bottle of white wine and bought another bottle of red which me and my friend have yet to try. Would highly recommend as the ambience is really nice and staff tend to be helpful despite the place being busy.

This is a cute restaurant with the wine bottles on the ceiling and a great selection of their own wines. I thought the wine was ok, probably the least good glass of white wine I drank and that included a €2 house glass at a place in Evora.
The quesadilla was solid. Asparagus soup was really enjoyable. I was disappointed by the Prego sandwich. It was fairly bland and not worth ordering.
This place could easily be a five star experience but we didn’t order in a way to make it that way. If you are looking to try Portuguese wines because you won’t make it out of Lisbon and want good snacks it’s worth it. If it’s one of your last meals in town - go somewhere else.

My partner and I each had a glass of wine here tonight and sat at the bar. The ambiance was great, and our wine was good too. They have a huge range in prices, but we got average priced glasses and paid only 6 euro for the both glasses together!

Fab place with truly excellent service from Sara behind the wine bar. Excellent choice of wine offered by Sara based on what we said we preferred. The rest of the staff were efficient and friendly as well. Great team.

Really nice place, but the service is horrible. They do not welcome you at all at the entrance but do send you away when you go and sit somewhere. Seating can take a very long time. No wine knowledge and rude staff. The manager does not care about his clients and this clearly reflects on the staff. Food and drinks were great.

Excellent service and amazing food. My friend and I shared a smaller charcuterie and cheese board that's not on the menu (ask for it)! All the selections were amazing especially the Portuguese cheeses. For dessert we had the flourless chocolate cake and lime gelato paired with a great dessert wine. Heaven!

Excellent wine bar that is transitioning into a hotspot for exceptional dining. The restaurant is curated beautifully with a ceiling covered with wine bottles. The bar is exceptionally long and good for accommodating many people. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food and the wine are what makes the place fantastic.

Bonito lugar para cenar. Llegamos de noche a Lisboa cansados y vivimos una experiencia muy desagradable en el hotel en el que nos íbamos a alojar. Nos realojaron en otro hotel cerca de este restaurante y fue una suerte entrar en él. Nos acomodaron en la barra porque estaba completo y nos arreglaron la noche con unas raciones estupendas y con la sonrisa del personal. El jamón ibérico una maravilla, los garbanzos con bacalao y la carrillera deliciosos y la tarta de lima estupenda. La decoración del local es muy original. Pero lo mejor sin duda el carácter amable y cercano de los camareros. Muchas gracias por lo bien que nos tratasteis, sobre todo a nuestro peque. ¡¡Muy muy recomendable!!

Out of the many good food places in Lisbon I would say this is one of the best. Good drinks. Try the Moscatel-tail Alambre with ginger. Great and inventive food. Good service, nice décor and good atmosphere. Also doesn’t break the bank when it comes to pricing. If you are looking for a good place to eat, have a drink and enjoy the evening. You can’t go wrong with this restaurant.

The selection of meats was great, very tasty and a generous portion. However the service is so slow, and not so knowledgeable of their wine list. At least you can try each wine before you buy. Although the list is not anything special or extensive.
Shame because the service is very important and this is a huge let down for a customer who wants to keep ordering. Didn’t stay for more than a round it was just too much hard work..

Es un local bonito, un tanto elitista el ambiente, pero el producto es común. Te sacan una tabla de quesos y embutido previamente cortados y en un tupper (sacrilegio). El vino es corriente, y el precio excesivo. Son de esos lugares que se ponen de moda por ser "diferentes" en su entorno, pero que si le quitas ese velo se queda en eso, un local bonito más.

It’s a very stylish wine place right in the heart of Chiado. Good opportunity to try all the wines of José Maria da Fonseca in case you don’t have the chance to get to the winery in Azeitão.
You can try the wines here or buy to go at a more reasonable price.
However, one has got to pay for the location and ambiance, so prices are quite high for wines and especially for food.
For example, the price of entry level Periquita Original is 2,90€/glass or 5€/btl to go. I’ve already bought a bottle at Continente for 2,99€.
My sandwich with presunto and fried egg was 10€, which is very steep for Portugal.

Very stylish bar, with broad and well selected wine menu. Choose from different wines from the region and overall Portugal.
Staff is very helpful. The prices are very fair. We did not have anything to eat but I'd assume the food complements the wine perfectly.

Great place for wine drinking and eating some "petiscos". The Patacones were divine and the wine selection perfect. Also try the "pica pau" were the sauce is the main atraction. Don't go choosing the win s you regularly drink, let the waiters help you out, and you will be very well surprised. Their knowledge is awesome. Sat on the high chairs and had one of the best dates possible.

Great decor, excellent selection of wines and dishes that perfectly compliment it. I have been in this establishment several times and never had a problem neither with the products presented to me, nor the attention delivered by the staff. You can find great quality wines for little and nibble something if you don’t plan in having dinner there. For vinho verde lovers I recommend “Twin wines” and for a little taste of something, have queijo de azeitaõ. If you want to have dinner, you should definitely book.

Amazing venue and atmosphere however the service was lacking. We entered and received no attention. After looking for attention we were bluntly asked to just sit down and we’d be served soon. Once we were served we we’re watching a waiter slice the ‘presunto’ it’s a fascinating thing to observe as it is not easy to do. He noticed us watching and loudly shouted to the waitress serving us saying in Portuguese ‘why are they looking at me, do they want something from me?’ Not realising we spoke Portuguese as well as English. Shocking display of people working here. Could be an amazing place if run properly. I’ll never be back and I’ll never recommend this place. Shocking and completely rude staff.

But u can see how the worker treat the ‘wine’. When he ‘pour the wine’ it just all over the place. Not just to my glass, even to all my other 6 friends glass. Service so SLOW. That little portion of their ‘tapas’ could take more than half hour. So make sure u re not really in hunger when u come here. Otherwise u might disappointed after see the food portion more like tasting portion than the tapas.
Myself I won’t be back here since service is SLOW n they don’t know really how serve ‘wine’ it just another overrated bar & restaurant in the city.

Este es un excelente lugar en Lisboa. El lugar es precioso, decorado con botellas de vino. El servicio es excelente, nos atendió una chica de pelo cortito que nos explico todo sobre los vinos y nos permitió degustarlos hasta encontrar el que nos guste. A mi personalmente me gusto mucho probar el vino verde. La tabla de quesos para compartir con el vino va muy bien. Fuimos domingo por la noche y había gente y mucha onda así que 100% recomendado.

Great place and all their wines are sourced from the same winemaker not too far from Lisbon which is pretty unique. I prefer white and my wife prefers red and we both found wines we really enjoyed. Prices on the wines are so inexpensive and if you like one you can take a bottle to go for a really low cost. The food is really good and we will be going back to try the Iberian ham plate.

Luckily we arrived early enough to get one of the last places at the counter. We only wanted to try some wines but decided to have dinner as well since it all looked tasty and we started getting hungry. As a starter we ordered some ham and later followed a couple of dishes to share. The eggplant with leek was absolutely DELICIOUS! Never tasted leek that has been stewed so good. Staff is very friendly and helped us pick the right wines.

Acceuil excellent, vins au top, le repas franchement trèsbbon aussi ! La joue de bœuf et le poulpe grillé chacun dans leur style étaient vraiment excellents. Super friendly staff and a lot of great Portugese wines to try. The food was also delicious. We did two different types of ceviche and a cheese plate. Very well priced too!

Very nice place to have a drink and good food! It is possible to eat at the bar without any reservation. I recommend trying the spicy tuna tartare!

Love that place - we go all the time. Very friendly staff, great setting and a simple but tasty food. The wines are inexpensive and you have some very good ones in there. I'm a vegetarian and always wolf down on their delicious cheeses with the friends or family we bring there. Cool vibe to the place. That's an authentic Portuguese experience at a reasonable price tag.

Good food but quite overhyped. Very noisy place forced us to yell at each other to be heard. You would think that with a name like that they would focus on wine pairings or at least getting the bottle to your table in a reasonable delay but no... We ordered a wine to pair with our meal and it finally came when we were finished eating. Food was very good and portions generous but still overall a disappointment.

Absolutely loved By The Wine. I went here on a date with my girlfriend and our waiter was so friendly - the perfect balance of attentive and giving us space. The white wine was delightful and we ended up getting a bottle take- away. You can order half glasses which is ridiculously good value. Only recommendation would be a few more vegetarian options :) we will be back soon!

In der Gegend gibt es jede Menge Tourifallen. Das hier gehört definitiv nicht dazu. Sehr entspanntes und freundliches Ambiente. Gut, um sich zu unterhalten ohne musikalische Volldröhnung. Sehr gemischtes Publikum mit Tendenz zu jungen besser Verdienern. Aber noch voll im Rahmen.
Die Qualität des Essens ist überdurchschnittlich. Bei der einen oder anderen Kleinigkeit fällt es mir sogar schwer Besseres zu finden. Die Preise sind in Anbetracht der Qualität der Weine und des Essens sehr OK. Reservierung ist Pflicht. Aber das ist in Lissabon in der Regel ein gutes Zeichen.
10 Tage später, bin ich nochmal dort gewesen. Es lohnt sich ja oft, so ein positives Erlebnis ein zweites mal abzuchecken. Auch dieses Mal wurde ich nicht enttäuscht. Die Kichererbsen mit Bacalhau waren außerordentlich lecker. Ebenso die Escabeche und das Carpaccio. Die Weine, die aus der sehr populären Kellerei José Maria da Fonseca stammen sind gut und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist absolut OK. Das Essen ist nicht günstig, aber seinen Preis definitiv wert. Das Personal ist aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Auch beim zweiten Mal eine eindeutige Empfehlung. Auch für das lockere Dinner mit Kollegen nach Feierabend. Ich werde den Laden im Laufe der nächsten Wochen sicherlich noch einmal besuchen. Das könnte sowas wie ein verlässlicher Fixpunkt werden.

Bons petiscos e vinho um espaço ao qual associo sempre bons momentos com amigos e um staff super simpático e pronto a ajudar e dar sugestões. Especialmente quando numa das visitas entornei um copo de vinho tinto pelo meu vestido e foram super rápidos a ajudar despejando um pouco de vinho branco e a magia aconteceu.
Os petiscos e queijos são de excelente qualidade.
I truly recommend this place if you want to enjoy some petiscos ( small food portions like tapas) and good wines in a very cool environment

Dinner and a show. To start, the food was delicious, wines very reasonably priced and varied, and wait staff generally helpful. Although we had to prompt to get menus and be served, most of the staff were lovely. However, one of the girls behind the bar (perhaps French) was one of the worst hospitality staff I’ve encountered. We saw her visibly irritate at least a dozen customers with her abruptness, indifference and complete apathy. Responding to an allergy question with “I don’t know, I don’t think so”. At least it provided some entertainment to the night in seeing other staff try to cajole her into a better mood or customers looking at each other bemused at why a staff member would be so rude. I’d go back but hope she’s gone by the next visit.

Large selection of Portuguese wines and what looked like a very tasty and affordable food menu (though unfortunately we were not able to try). Tasteful interior and nice seating by the bar. When asked a question about the wines waitress did not seem to have very good knowledge and was unable to answer our rather straightforward question. Otherwise, a very nice place to visit when in Lisbon.

Excelente carta de vinhos.
As entradas estavam ótimas, com destaque para o gazpacho e o queijo de Azeitão, obrigatório.
Pratos principais: barriga de porco fantástica, borrego assado excelente, boas batatinhas assadas com alecrim.
Prato de cogumelos muito bom e as sobremesas estavam deliciosas, a saber, Tarte de Lima e Torta de Azeitão.
Deixou a desejar quanto ao atendimento, falta um melhor treinamento no quesito simpatia e agilidade, fácil de melhorar.
Poderia ter mais opções vegetarianas.
O restaurante tem uma comida de qualidade e vinhos bem conceituados, num ambiente achedor.
Vale a pena!

The food was so full of flavour and of high standard that I forgot that this place's speciality was the wine... That's until I tried their wines.. my girlfriend had a couple of whites and I had a couple of reds..Delecious!

Such a great wine and platters bar!! Best gluten free bread I've ever had and they made it on the spot fresh. Delicious cheese and meat and wine was phenomenal! Highly recommend

Espaço muito acolhedor, com área interior e exterior. Funcionários simpáticos. Comida bem confecionada e uma boa seleção de vinhos. Comemos muito bem e pagamos uma média de 30€/pessoa. Recomendo.

Un lugar con mucho encanto en el Barrio alto. Alli tomar un vino y de comer lo tipico son los sándwich de roastbeef o de beef, con pan rustico de aceite y ajo y el interior espectacular. 9 euros. Nos lo recomendó la guía y la verdad muy acertada.

I was pleased with the quality of the food, particularly the cheese plate and the tuna ceviche. The wine was pleasant but not spectacular to me, which of course owes a lot to the selection of the wine and might be my fault. Prices seemed a bit high to me considering portion sizes and average prices in Lisbon. For example, a sandwich with chips/crisps was EUR 9. I would have considered that an excellent deal, but the sandwich was very small.

Absolute Empfehlung! Sehr stylisches Lokal das zu einem Weingut gehört. Die große Auswahl an hauseigenen Weinen lässt keine Wünsche offen. (bin selbst Winzer und war von der Weinqualität echt überrascht) Die Speisekarte reicht von einer Art Tapas mit genialem Bellota Schinken, Chorizo und Käse über scharf eingelegte Sardinen bis hin zu Steak und Dessert-Trilogie. Das Personal ist freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Sitzplätze sind sehr beliebt, weswegen mann oftmals kurz warten oder inzwischen an der Bar ein Glas Wein genießen muss/darf, jedoch dann rasch geseated wird. Wir waren gleich mehrmals dort, da der Laden gleich um die Ecke lag. Das Mein Muss für die Lissabon-Reise!

Das Personal war sehr freundlich, schönes Ambiente, das Essen und der Wein gut...allerdings haben wir 18 € für ein Brettchen mit angeblichen Tapas bezahlt, die lediglich aus Salami, Schinken und Käse bestanden..Leute..fahrt mal nach Spanien und fragt da nach Tapas...Für mich stimmen Preis - Leistung nicht..
