Cancelled our stay on March 14 due to flights not being available and was advised that we would receive a refund for our rooms. The hotel did absolutely nothing and Marriott advised us it could take 90 days to receive the refund. Yesterday the hotel advises us that the Portuguese government passed a law last week that does not allow them to give refunds. Other hotels and other Marriott hotels in Portugal have given refunds. What were they doing for 6 weeks? Terrible service, would not recommend.

Talvez tenha tido azar devido ao excesso de movimento e clientes. Refeição para grupos razoável, buffet, mas para um hotel de gabarito mundial esperava melhor. Percebi que colaboradores foram muito rígidos com grupos de clientes não colocando pratos e talheres em mesas de 10 lugares forçando os grupos a separarem-se. Recepção e loby muito agradável e pessoal simpático com muita calma apesar do excesso de clientes ao mesmo tempo. Zonas de lazer muito agradáveis. Quem não conhece bem a zona recomendo o uso de GPS, o acesso ao hotel pode ser muito prolongado devido à localização e regras de circulação da cidade.
Quartos agradáveis mas também já vi melhor em hotéis menos conhecidos. No entanto recomendo, hotel a abarrotar de clientes e muito silencioso nos quartos.

Good, clean ambience. Very helpful staff. Very nice pool and pool side area. Little play ground for kids around the pool. Rooms are spacious, modern and well maintained. Decent choice of food available in the restaurant and room service. Small souvenier shop quite nice.

All excellent! Stayed here for 1night during COVID trying to get back home stateside. All staff were super professional and cleanliness was visually superb as well as copious hand sanitizer at touch points (entering restaurant and at reception and concierge). All excellent as well as food and beverage quality. I’d def recommend and stay again!

Attention all Marriott Elite Members. Do not pick this hotel. They don’t value your status and are some of the most mean and unhelpful staff perhaps in all of Marriotts hotels I have stayed in and believe me I have over 400 nights in my account. The US Government has banned all flight to Europe and still as a Titanium member they still wont refund me the money. Basically so that you understand They rather keep $118.75 on their side and lose a loyal customer like me of 6 years. Marriott used to be the leader in hospitality but they are no more. I even escalated this to the office of the CEO of Marriott and they wont even contact me to discuss a resolution. Basically at a time I needed Marriott to show me loyalty all I got was the middle finger. I was able to get a status match with Hilton to Gold and after an easy 18 more night I will be diamond. Again to all elite members avoid this hotel at all cost. I dealt with Hugo Costa from the CEO’s office he is worthless and wont even call you back. At the property I dealt with Anabela Correia and she is also worthless. Again do not stay at this property they don’t value you as an elite member.

Elite Recognition: Elite status recognized and due elite benefits delivered. Love it when hotels deliver on due elite benefits.
Lounge: Fantastic lounge. Really appreciate the availability of vegetarian food during happy hour.
Breakfast: Very good breakfast. Location of breakfast is great. Good breakfast hours.
Hospitality: Excellent hospitality. Everybody we interacted with was great!
Area of Opportunity:
Would love to see better lighting near the bed to allow us to work better.

I can't remember a bottle with such bad service and even worse following up a complain.
Literally waiting 30+ minutes to deliver drinks to a table which is right next to the bar,. Having to call 3 times room service in an hour for ice on 3 occasions. Getting charged a lounge access to my card because someone supposedly used my name.
Worse off the management not reading detailed emails and rather replying as if he didn't fully read the email.

We were in Lisbon as a family for pleasure. The property's location is great and proximity to all attractions is very good. The zoo is in walking distance.

Wonderful hotel. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for our comfort and well being. Marriott is certainly our hotel chain of choice after our experience in Lisbon.

Had a great weekend celebrating Valentines with my wife. Rooms are clean and newly refurbished. Food and drinks (non alcoholic and alcoholic) were excellent in executive lounge which we were glad to include in our booking. Breakfast buffet is also great with choices of cold food and hot food like salmon, cold cuts and staff making omelette. All staff are attentive and courteous. Gym facility was great.

The hotel is near the airport and a good ways from City Central. Our suite was small and had only a shower no bath. The food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was well prepared and the service was very good. The concierge lounge was small and crowed. The hotel is located near the airport and close to a busy freeway, so road and plane noise is an issue. The Staff was friendly and provided very helpful tourist information.

When we check in we asked for an upgrade,because we have a Lifetime Gold status we always get one with all the benefits that come with that, but we were informed that we could get the upgrade of the room but not allowed in the lounge because they were too busy and could not accomadate everyone in it since the lounge is not big enough We talked to the manager and she mentioned there was nothing she could do. We ended up calling Marriott and having them explain to their own employees how our room included the lounge and they needed to allow us to use it. This management went very far trying to prove us wrong instead of trying to understand the situation and help us.

Very friendly staff, impeccably clean and incredibly fast elevators. You don't point out elevators until you experience a place like this Marriott that has them on light speed. We never waited more than 10 seconds for an elevator during our 3 night stay there. Bravo to the elevator crew for their amazing work.

The hotel is located 5-10 minutes drive from airport. It has a spacious drive in and lobby and comfortable rooms. The manager gave us a free late check out. The only issues was there was construction on one of the floors and it was very noisy during the day.

We were very disappointed this time with our stay at the Marriott. The quality that we've experienced in the past at the Lisbon location was missing. The room was very small, poorly equipped with clogged sink, flimsy showerhead, dimly lit bathroom, dingy white towels, and just two small drawers for storing our clothes for a 3-night stay.

Buen hotel de la cadena Marriott aunque bastante alejado del centro e incluso de la estación de metro más cercana, que sería la de Sete Ríos que esta a unos 20 minutos andando. Difícil aparcar por los alrededores por lo que es casi obligado usar el parking del hotel. Personal muy agradable. Desayunos magníficos. Por el momento hay habitaciones y plantas renovadas y otras más antiguas en curso de renovación. Tiene piscina. Agradable lounge y servicio de retirada y entrega de vehículos. Suele estar bastante concurrido.

I have stayed here on several occasions. This time I prepaid the room on the Bonvoy App. I reserved a king room high floor. It wasn't available at the time of check in; I accepted a twin superior. This room was less equipped than rooms on the lower floors.
The rooms are all clean. The bed quality is excellent for sleep. The staff is great
Just disappointed with the room.

First class marriot hotel with excellent services and facilities. The local is not ideal, but a quick 8 euro uber ride (excellent availablity) gets you to the airport, city center or tourist locations. Overall, very affordable luxury for tourists and what you'd expect for a business hotel.

Huge hotel with about 600 rooms. My room was clean and had enough space. I had mixed experiences with breakfast, lunch and dinner, as the quality and service was impacted by the number of guests.

GOOD
-The lobby was nice and decorated for Halloween.
-The bed and pillows were comfortable.
BAD
-There were faulty lights in the corridor to my room (216) when were flickering on/off like a scene from a low budget horror movie.
-There was rubbish in the corridor from other rooms on way to my room.
-The air conditioning unit sounded like a small car engine (it was thankful it was only 20oC and didn't need it).
-The sink in the bathroom was drainage was blocked.
-The decor was awfully outdated especially in the bathroom. It reminded me of the teacher in Harry Potter movies towards the end who liked the colour pink :S.
-The shower curtain was certainly reaching the end of it's useful life.
-Very disappointing experience, do not stay here if you want a nice hotel when in Lisbon.

This hotel has gone down hill. Smelly bedding, shower had mold, barely a trickle of water. Only one robe. Noisy at night....an this was a high priced suite!

A Marriott hotel as I've seen a few lately: designed beautifully and build with passion, spacious area's, great meeting rooms and decent size bedrooms. I see friendly and service focussed staff, which is great! But, especially in the rooms I see that time has taken its toll; a bathroom which looks quite dated with a shower in a bath and just generally missing the clever tricks from today.
Still a great and very hospitable hotel; I just hope they keep on renovating those rooms.

They tried to up sell us as a way to get into a room early. We had an overnight flight from Boston to Lisbon. Got to the hotel to be told no rooms. Keep checking back,. So tried to charge us $60. night for breakfast and a couple of drinks a day. No thank you.

Hotel is close to airport with very nice conference facility for the business traveler. A little far from major attractions but a quick taxi ride to city center. Platinum members have access to lounge. Service in restaurant was very poor, that was the only down side of our stay.

Nice hotel, very friendly staff. They enthusiastically guide you to good places to eat and sightsee.
The hotel is located next to sort of a two-lane freeway and it can be quite noisy.

Debido a minha situação de mobilidade limitada, esperaba ter uma melhor atenção ao momento de chegar e ser atendido no balcão Elite da BonVoy.
Não oferecem atenção o serviço de cadeiras de rodas. Tinha maiores expetativas, bem sei que e uma situação pouco regular, mais deveriam estar melhor preparados para este tipo de eventualidades e serviço.

bonjour notre sejour du 3 au 7 octobre 2019 le service hotel est bien . le restaurant est deplorable aucune qualité sur l'alimentaire du tres bas de gamme et souvent du rechauffé de la veille le petit dejeuner n'est pas mieux . en chambre surpris que les toilettes soit dans la salle de bains la baignoire est a remplacer plus d'email semble etre crade pour un 4 étoiles sa ne passe pas.

The only negative is that it a little far from downtown. A 10 minute taxi ride and you are in the heart of the city. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Has the feeling of the resort in the city

The Lisbon Marriott is a fine, deluxe hotel in a fantastic location in Lisbon!! The hotel is modern and open with a great lounge area, bar and Executive Lounge on the main floor. The gift shop has a great selection of local gifts at very reasonable prices. Superb location with an easy, quick taxi ride to downtown Lisbon. The professional staff are of the highest caliber!
Highly recommended. Book early since the accommodations at the Lisbon Marriott are in great demand throughout the year!

I recently returned from a trip to Portugal which included 2 nights at the Lisbon Marriott and couldn't have been more pleased. The hotel is beautiful, the food was excellent, the check-in process quick and easy and the room was exceptionally clean and in addition to all of that - the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I just can't say enough about how nice everyone was, really made us feel welcome and made for such a pleasant stay at their resort. This property could be a blueprint for all other hotels - great job!

The hotel rooms were nice, the views are not great from the window and you can hear the murmer of traffic, but overall it was not a bad. The bar area is nice, with a shaded outdoor portion which was relaxed, a nice laid back atmosphere. Staff in general were great.

We took a tour of Spain, and decided to end our trip with a stay in Lisbon. Our tour ended in Seville, and instead of going back to Barcelona to fly home - we spent several days in Lisbon, and flew home from there. The Marriott Hotel is close to the airport, both coming and going. We took the Metro to most of the sights, and taxi's are very reasonable. The staff was very helpful with directions to the various sights around Lisbon. It was a nice taste of Lisbon and Portugal, and will probably do a tour of Portugal in the future.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in! The staff are rude, unprofessional and ill-mannered. I was given an outdated room on the lowest floor. I requested a higher floor many times and the staff refused. When my colleagues have arrived 20 minutes later they were given a room on the 16th floor which miraculously became available.
Staff are rude and lack professionalism. I do not recommend this hotel. Have stayed in other Marriott and have usually had a good experience- except this one. Atrocious customer service!!!

One of the WORST Marriott properties in Europe.
PROS:
Very big restaurant and nice breakfast buffet.
CONS:
Hotel has tiny rooms.
The rooms are very outdated.
There is absolutely NO recognition of Marriott Elite Status. I am Titanium Elite and the check-in desk made absolutely no mention of that. We were given a tiny room on the lowest floor although the hotel was mostly empty.
The executive lounge is very cramped and uncomfortable.
The service at the executive lounge is very poor. After only 20 minutes the evening appetizer service began, all food ran out and was NOT refilled.
Hotel far away from the city center and major tourist attractions.
I wish I could say that this hotel does not reflect Marriott standards, but it exactly does: Since the Marriott Bonvoy program launched, Marriott has become synonymous to very poor service, zero recognition of loyalty and corporate greed. So if you want to try out the "typical" Marriott experience, this hotel is a must.

Hotel is closer to air port but bit far from main tourist attractions. During check in, name was spelled wrongly that's why couldn't connect to WiFi for that reason. Couldn't use the room key to activate the electricity of the room. Informed room service but no one picked up, than had to call reception. Waited around half an hour for the room service to come in. After having a 20 hours long flight and then to check in to step into a room without electricity and then also to wait another 30 mins for the room service to come was a painful experience. Also, the country name was given wrong while taking information. Also, the room service wasn't prompt at all. Additionally, dental kit & washroom sandal should be provided without asking for it.

Staying here for one night before flying back to Canada after 2 weeks of honeymooning in Portugal. Extremely glad it’s only one night and if it was any more I probably would have talked reception. We arrived and the bell hops begrudgingly greeted us, with no intention to grab our bags and help us get in the door of the hotel. Checking into with the Marriott Bonvoy staff, he also was not happy at all, making a comment that we were there 2 hours before we said we would. I told him I had received a notification saying our room was ready (and either way, we were still arriving AFTER the check in time), to which he replied “lucky for you”.
The room is supposed to be renovated, which I’m not sure if they are claiming a renovation that must have happened 10+ yrs ago, and a balcony that was 1m x 0.5m at best, with no chairs or anything.
Only instant coffee in the room, and the room smelled like cigarettes.
This hotel is not at the Marriott standard, and honestly I’m a bit in shock. I thought we were getting something way better. When I reserve with Marriott I expect a level of comfort and quality which I do not see here.

Awful experience and rude staff. They tried to switch the rooms from king to standard twin on the pretence no king room available. After insisting and showing them the reservation, somehow king rooms were made available suddenly. Why do you need to complain to get what you had a reservation for in the first place?
The circus continued even after as the soon I got into my room I could sense someone had smoke there previously. Although made the reception aware they didn’t seem to care. The first night was awful as I could literally sense the cigarette in the air I was breathing. They then cleaned the room more than they’d usually do the next day, as no other room available to have it switched (again). But even after that I could still sense the cigarette smell for the entire time of my stay.
Will never return! Can’t get it - how a 4 star hotel treat their guests like this?

Very nice gay friendly hotel, with a nice pool and garden, great drinks at the bar, good food at the restaurant if you need dinner, a very nice and professional gay friendly staff, and very clean and comfortable rooms/bed/bathroom. Every time I return to Lisbon, whether it's a business trip or vacation, I always stay there. If you're gym fit with good legs, walk from this hotel all the way to tourist Old Lisbon, and then you'll have seen half of beautiful Lisbon! But if you want to metro to old town, then take the blue line metro at Laranjeiras station in the direction of Santa Apolonia and then get off at Baixa-Chiado or Restauradores stations and then walk tourist old town from there. I highly recommend you staying at this hotel !

Check-in à 15h00, attente jusqu'à 17h15 pour la 2ème chambre, avec des enfants qui voulaient faire la sieste ce n'était pas évident.
Hall réception spacieux, confortable, wi-fi rapide, bar et restaurant à disposition.
Chambre communicante avec celle d'à-côté, propreté très bien, coffre + minibar, bouilloire à disposition, chambre moyennement spacieuse, isolation phonique très bien, climatisation très bien, confort du lit très bien, tv grand écran à qualité moyenne, beaucoup de chaînes disponibles.
Salle de bain et wc dans le même espace, cabine de douche 100x200 !!!
Propreté très bien.
Petit-déjeuner buffet diversifié et copieux.

The breakfast at this hotel is a gem with a wide selection of foods available, including Portuguese options, gluten-free options, lots of choices for vegetarians, etc, and it is served until 11 am, which is very civilised! Friendly staff at front door of the hotel and helpful with getting taxis and explaining destinations to drivers, as well as giving directions and best way to get there. Rest of stay was very disappointing. Long queues as front desk at check in and check out, cold and frosty reception, and you feel like you are disturbing the staff. One of the front desk staff walked away from the front desk when it was my turn after waiting for a while. Was it me? The room was disappointing....old furniture, outdated bathroom fixtures, peeling plaster on bathroom ceiling. Air conditioning blasts on all settings; turning it off and opening balcony door to let in breeze is nice, but hotel is surrounded by motorways with heavy traffic (esp lorries and motorbikes) at all hours, making getting a good night's sleep impossible. Hotel is not located in centre of Lisbon, but next to Catholica University, which is where my conference was and was convenient. But getting anywhere else involves a taxi as the metro stops are about 13 minutes away.
Whilst the breakfast buffet is very nice, the staff in the restaurant at breakfast are not attentive, do not really interact with guests, do not explain how the service works, and appear irritated or distracted when they are approached. Children tend not to be supervised by adults in the breakfast area, and staff should supervise to ensure children are not running around or taking food and putting it back.
I have travelled all over Portugal and stayed in a variety of hotels, but this is definitely not one of the better ones! Staff needs to be more outward looking and customer oriented.

Best Marriott I have ever stayed. the breakfast, which was included is reminiscent of a 5 Star hotel which they charge $125 for brunch. this Marriott included (Elite member). ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We stayed at the Marriott in Lisbon for nearly a week and were quite pleased with the comfort and functionality of the room, with its restful decor and amenities (like a refrigerator and spacious desk). The staff was professional and friendly. The doormen were helpful in arranging taxis and making sure the drivers knew our destination (the staff was fluent in English, but sometimes the drivers were not). Also, the concierge gave us great information about sightseeing options, and arranged a personal tour of Sintra, which was beautiful. The tour guide was terrific, and we felt it was money well-spent. We would definitely stay at another Marriott property based on our experience in Lisbon.

The Lisbon Marriott is centrally located near the airport and short Uber rides to most attractions! But its ambience is nice enough that you wanted to stay there only w the swimming pool and fine restaurant! Staff were helpful and caring! It also has a great jewelry shop for Portugal’s famed filigri jewelry! Best prices and quality!

Fine example of a full service Marriott with spacious, well staffed lobby check in. Elite members line staffed and very fast. Large elevator lobbies on each floor with spotless floors and public spaces. Fine beds, clean bath in excellent repair, full amenities you'd expect. Fantastic breakfast and all this a short 10 Euro taxi ride to Airport.

The past week I've been through London, Paris, and Italy. I've experienced different types of hospitality in different locales. From cafes to hotels to airbnb owners. I'm not sure if it's because the Marriott hotel is a more high-class location but I'm finding that the Portuguese in general have a different type of hospitality (when they choose to exercise it). And so far in my opinion it is superior.the people are much more likely to speak with you as if they're really trying to understand you. More as if they were old friends then simply performing a service for you. The only thing that seems to change as you frequent "less fancy" locations is that, that feeling of friendliness turns into family. I hope everyone has the same type of experience in Portugal.

I enjoyed a wonderful stay here. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I arrived early and was able to store my bag and then go explore the city. Pool was refreshing and other guests were pleasant also. Thanks for the great memories!

Muito bom hotel, com um excelente atendimento.. ambiente de grande conforto, disponibiliza de uma loja de conveniência em frente a recepção. Tem também um ótimo bar nas traseiras junto a pixina bastante agradável para poder repousar e beber qualquer coisa. Os quartos são confortáveis e com algum luxo.

I quite liked the hotel, it's location, facilities and restaurant. There's a large outdoor pool with lots of sun. I had my breakfast outside in the sun as well, near the pool area, I love a morning like that. Most rooms have a balcony as well, with a fantastic view on the city, the mountains, and airplanes nearing for landing. The juices and pastries are a real delight. The staff is super nice as well!

This was a wonderful home away from home, for two weeks, in Lisbon! Great updated room and bath with fantastic views of the beautiful garden and pool. The staff was top notch and helped us in every way! Everyone working at the hotel was very polite and professional. The bar and restaurant service was outstanding. The food choices were amazing. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the metro station and a taxis is always waiting at the front door. Six euros buys you a quick and short drive to the historical center or any part of the city. The hotel was quite and very conveniently located. Wonder place if you want a spacious room and large well maintained garden and pool.

We stayed at the Lisbon Marriott Hotel as a brief rest stopover before heading back to the USA. It was absolutely delightful if all aspects. We were greeted and given room assignments in very expeditious and efficient manner. The rooms were clean and good sized. There is both indoor and patio seating for the bar area as well as a concierge room for qualifying Marriott Bonvoy members including free breakfast and evening cocktails and wine. That evening we dined in a very nicely appointed restaurant offering menu selections or buffet line. The meals were delicious and reasonably priced. We had a delightful and restful evening before flying home. Very highly recommend staying there either coming or going from other destinations.

Very nice rooms and beds, good gym facilities as well as the swimming pool. The buffet breakfast is a must try. The location is a little bit apart from the city centre, but not far from a metro station. However a 20 minutes walk would take you to Corte Ingles which is one of the main department store of the country or Decathlon which the biggest sports store in europe. The customer service is amazing.

Os quartos renovados precisam urgentemente de outra renovação... o WC tinha o lavatório entupido e faltavam toalhas de banho. Servem o pequeno-almoço almoço até às 11h mas a partir dessa hora retiram tudo e não servem mais as pessoas. Achei inacreditável pois nem fruta consegui comer porque era um corrupio de empregados a guardar a comida o mais rápido possível... às 11h20m não havia nada na sala para servir, nem sumos... mais valia dizer que só serviam o pequeno-almoço até às 10h30... nunca vi tal situação em mais lado nenhum do mundo... precisam urgentemente de rever esta política de poupança...☹️☹️☹️

O Hotel está um pouco descuidado nos detalhes. O meu apto não foi limpo um dia e nem as toalhas foram trocadas. No 1° dia o quarto tinha um cheiro muito forte de cigarro e tive que deixar janela e portas abertas por um tempo para amenizar. Em 6 (SEIS) dias eu não conseguia entrar no apto porque a chave magnética não abria( mesmo eu deixando em separado e longe de qualquer coisa que pudesse desmagnetizar o cartão). Já fiquei hospedado algumas vezes em Hotéis da Rede Marriott nos EUA e achei os aptos bem melhores. O atendimento dos funcionários foi muito bom.

Very beautiful and neat hotel. The bedrooms are big, and most of the beds are comfy. If you sleep on a mattress that's not a real bed it's not that conferrable. Also the lounge doesn't give a lot of food. 'Tapas & Tiles' (the bar) have nice and good portioned meals. My favorite part of staying there had to be the breakfast. Normally hotel breakfast buffets are stale and aren't the good. But, there was lots too choose from. When you want to make pancakes you can see it cook. I think that I had a nice experience and I might want to go back again.

As a Silver Elite, I requested a Toothbrush upon check in on the app after a long flight from Toronto. Not done. Drainage issue in the sink and tub. Lamp was not working. Had to reset the keys thrice. Upon the second attempt, the reception rep was very patronizing as if It was my fault. Service in bar was pretty bad. Didn't seem happy when I asked for a cocktail. GM returned my first Tripadvisor review (I have never done one before but given how bad my stay was I decided to do so) but have not head back from him. Go figure. Why even bother touching base with me. Probably and by far my worst Marriott experience. As a family, my wife is Platinum elite and we have never had such a bad experience.

A extremely lovely stay at the Marriott in Lisbon. When you are traveling to another country you may often get a little bit home sick but the Marriott really gives you a good little taste of home if you are familiar with the chain. The hotel staff was extremely accommodating and patient even with the influx of guests that were staying at the hotel at the time. Easy walking access and public transportation access to may great spots in Lisbon. Will definitely keep this hotel on my list for any return trips to Portugal.

Clean and comfortable, but perhaps noisy, rooms. close to the airport, but not very convenient to get to tourist sites by public transit, however Larenjeiros metro station is within moderate walking distance.
Positives:
- Close to airport
- Clean and comfortable room, bathroom
- Nice lobby and pool area
- Good breakfast
Negatives:
- Noise from the highway in my room (-1 )
- Food I got by the pool was very poor quality, which was disappointing considering the high price (-1 )

Very nice hotel. It has its quirks and is a bit away from center and tourist area - but close to the airport. The room was spacious and the bathroom was good. From the doorman fetching taxis to the reception - staff were fabulous ! The breakfast segregated- I don’t know whether there were tiers of breakfast as I was seated in an area where the buffet was visibly limited compared to another section.
