Extremely poor help, they seem not to know what they are doing and pass the buck or tell you to go on the gov site which was not useful for what I needed. The British embassy need to get the act together and open 3 days a week what rubbish. You're a total embarrassment to your nation.

We have the same problem when calling the operator. But when you get there, the guard is helpful and friendly and help us to ring up the staffs. The officers are efficient and empathetic and help us get the emergency travel document promptly. Reli grateful~

This morning I wrote an email to the Embassy concerning a problem with a rented apartment in lisbon myself and a disabled friend have had to rent due to not being able to return home. A possibility we could be evicted due to a unpleasant landlady. The Embassy clearly did not read the email I sent and instead sent an automated response dealing with a totally different subject. Like everything British these days it is run by total Muppets. Who should be lined up against the wall and be desposed of. Shame on you.

Acabei de contactar a Embaixada Britânica em Lisboa para apostilar (uma cópia legal) o meu certificado de Mestrado que tirei em Londres. A resposta foi: "A Embaixada e o Consulado já não têm esse serviço. Não é nada connosco telefone para o Legalisation officer no Reino Unido.". Resultado tenho que fazer um candidatura pela internet e pagar 14 libras de portes de envio dum papel A4 (já para não dizer que enviar documentos legais por correio é pouco seguro). Apostilar documentos é uma função básica das embaixadas. Se a Embaixada Britanica não serve para meter um simples carimbo num documento feito no país que representa serve para quê? - I have just contacted the British Embassy in Lisbon to apostille (a legal copy) of the Master degree certificate I have done in London. The answer was: "The UK Embassy and the Consulate no longer provide this service. It has nothing to do with us. Call the Legalisation officer in the UK." The result is that I will have to do an online application and pay 14 pounds to post an A4 paper (not to mention that sending legal documents by post is not the safest). To apostille is a basic function of embassies. If the British Embassy can´t put a simple stamp in a document made in the country that represents what is it good for?

Bom dia a todos os imigrantes portugueses no Reino unido a embaixada do Reino Unido em Lisboa é uma fachada nos tentamos ligar para lá ninguém nos atende é uma vergonha queremos tratar de algum documento e não se consegue a não ser que nos dirigimos lá directamente é vergonhoso ninguém atende o telefone. My daughter attendend school in U.K. for 9 years. We now moved to Lisbon and trying to get her a place in school. The Portuguese school they want legalized papers which only British Consulate privides, the result is that they never allow me to enter as I only hold italian IDs. Everyone was shocked about and even the Portuguese ministery of education was and told me that is not the first time that happened. This is not correct my daughter 12 years old shold be protected by both Italian and British authorities and not threated like a terrorist!! Shame of you!! I hope you get out of E.U. as you think you can do whatever you like with a child life!!!

Don't bother ringing the Consulate in Portimao! Answerphone message, transferred to nowhere, or the just don't bother answering at all.

I have tried several times to speak to the operator on the number given but when transferred via 0 nobody answers the telephone. It states that the lines are open until 17.00 and it is now only 14.47. If the Consulate is not able to answer I suggest you change your message so that people do not hold on for a long time and then ring off frustrated.
