Très bonne auberge de jeunesse pour visiter lisbonne, située juste à côté du bairo alto. Dispose également d'une grande terrasse qui est parfaite pour rencontrer d'autres voyageurs.

I regret booking my stay here as I felt very uncomfortable.
- I stayed for one week and I had to change rooms because a group of travelers was coming in. It seems that there are a lot of groups coming to this hostel, and they make a lot of noise.
- The bathrooms were not nice, especially the showers - most of them (7 out of 10!) were under construction when I was there, and the others were unpleasant (molded ceilings and you could smell the humidity).
+ The location was good, although it was in a little back lane that seemed not the safest. However, these lanes are very common in Lisbon.
+ The hostel has a laundry room
+ The backyard is nice, although they close it at midnight
- The rooms had no curtains to protect from the sun. They also had no air conditioning and it was extremely hot.
- All mattresses I saw were molded underneath.
- The locker doors opened upwards so you had to hold them all the time when you wanted to access your belongings. Plus, various times, I found the door to my room left open.
- The top bunks do not have latters
- To enter the hostel, you had to ring the door bell every single time.
- There are electronic access card to the room, but they are not used to open the main door.
- Staff was ok. Although one girl was hitting on me the night I arrived.
I would not stay here again.

직원들이 엄청 친절하고 체크아웃 후에도 시간 제한 없이 가방을 무료로 맡겨준다는게 가장 큰 장점입니다. 다만 후기들이 좋아서 예약했는데 체크인을 하러가기 위해서 캐리어를 들고 계단을 엄청 올라가야하고 엘레베이터가 없습니다. 또 만약 12베드같은 경우에는 체크인하고 다시 캐리어를 들고 내려와서 1층에 숙박해야합니다. 열쇠 키가 잘 들지않아서 당황하면 문이 잘 안열리니까 좌우로 돌려봐야하고 밤에 도착한 저로써는 화장실과 샤워실이 너무나 열악해서 깜짝 놀랐습니다. 그리고 새벽이 될 때까지 더웠구요. 그러나 침대 매트리스는 굉장히 푹신하고 좋습니다. 그리고 조식이 3유로로 적당한 가격입니다. 다만 리스본이 돌길인데다가 세이프스테이 호스텔까지 올라오는 높은 경사와 계단을 거쳐서 또 숙소까지 가파른 계단을 올라와야한다는게 단점이고 가장 저렴한 방의 경우에는 밤에 살짝 무섭습니당..ㅎ

I would highly recommend this place as they give an amazing experience to their customer. It really feels like home. Breakfast is really good and worth having. Location of this hostel is the best in town. Overall an amazing place to stay. Thumbs up

I volunteered at the hostel and i can tell ypu that the stuff is just amazing!! From the volunteers to the receptionists, bartenders, and cleaning stuff..everyone is very nice and helpful, they all speak english, some speak russian. Youll find friends in the hostel! However, they have some problems with bugs (i saw planty of them) not a very sanitary place for sure, so i wouldnt recommend it for kids or if you are looking for comfort stay.

The showers and the rooms were disgusting. There was even a cockroach nest near the entrance of the bathroom and food rests in the rooms. The breakfast wasn't very good either. If I had to say something good about this hostel I would say that the staff was nice and the location was OK.

To get to the property:
From the Restauradores metro station, cross the street, go up the Elevador da Gloria street, do not take the funicular, and turn right at the first stairs you see, OR or if you prefer, at the next street and continue down until you see the pink house. The staff is so nice they will help with the luggage. They say the property is a heritage site they cannot install lifts so all they have are stairs.
I was in a bunk bed and it was a bit tough to climb up.
Breakfast is okay but note that it’s wash your own dishes and mugs.
Best feature is the location.

When I stayed it was ok, met nice people, central, however a bit Castrophobic +noisy, there are many wonderful hostels in beautiful Lisbon, love Lisbon! Don't miss out,nights on Bairro Alto, up hills in the centre, lots of wonderfuls, leaving music, a must!

Location is amazing, bed was clean, kitchen is ok not so good, the bathrooms were terrible in my opinion and that is why it is impossible to do more than one night.
The hostel is full of loud people from somewhere in Europe that is really close to Lisbon :D if you travel a lot you already know or maybe you will get to know. Enjoy!

L'ambiance de l'auberge est satisfaisante. Bien sûr, si vous venez ici, préparez vous à faire des rencontres et à partager votre quotidien avec des étrangers ! Vous devez partager votre chambre avec d'autres personnes. Et je ne pense pas que les chambres de 2 ou 4 existent. Les sanitaires sont assez propres pour une auberge.

I have not stayed at this location. My complaint is about the deceitful marketing practices done by safestay hostels in order to get publicity. They advertise rooms for 1 euro/night, yet there is no availability at all even when you check as soon as the promo is launched. I am unsure what the plan is... All the discounted travel websites fall for it, but no one manages to book it. Do they just think people will book anyways? No. Ridiculous and bad business practice.

Excelente Hostel, e de custo benefício bom. Quartos confortáveis e limpos. Os beliches não tinham cortinas, as quais ajudariam muito quanto à privacidade. Equipe muito atenciosa, falando inglês e português. Localização também excelente. Vale com certeza uma noite, pelo menos.

L'auberge est vraiment bien, les lits sont comfortable, Les chambres agréables et l'auberge est bien placé ! Plutôt que de prendre le petit déjeuner a l'auberge n'hésitez pas à sortir sur la place en bas de l'auberge plusieurs boulangerie propose des pâtisseries typiques délicieuse !

Good location although quite hard to reach if you have heavy luggage because it’s located in the hilly part of Lisbon. There are many stair steps. Staffs are helpful Bd friendly. The cleanest in general is also quite good.

Molto accogliente, in posizione strategica a metà tra il centro (quartiere Baixa) e il Barrio alto, perfetto per uscire la sera. Staff parlante inglese, molto disponibili. La bacheca dell'ostello è ricca di attività e informazioni. In reception ogni giorno è presente una guida dei Free Walking tour. Ristrutturato, arredi nuovi, ottimo design di interni e bellissima terrazza esterna: luogo perfetto dove rilassarsi. Disponibile il deposito bagagli gratuito. Cucina spaziosa, fette di pane gratuite. Bagno femminile molto ampio, nuovo, colorato. Letti a castello con luce di cortesia e prese di corrente multiple, con vani per riporre lo zaino ma bisogna avere il proprio lucchetto. Ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo.

Отличный хостел по соотношению цена - качество. Чистые комнаты и душевые. Расположен в центре города, в непосредственной близости есть магазины и общественный транспорт (включая трамвайную линию и знаменитый фуникулёр). Бесплатный Wi-Fi, и набор стандартных развлечений в чилауте. На стойке регистрации есть небольшой бар с пивом, коктейли и безалкогольные напитки, всё это можно выпить на террасе хостела. Отзывчивый персонал и приветливые постояльцы входят в стоимость!)))

It's an okay place. It's not great- everything could do with a renovation. The "bag storage" is an unlocked room with a clear door anyone can gain access to. The staff were great and helpful; that and the drinks prices were pretty much the only redeeming qualities. Like, it's not bad, it's perfectly stayable- it's just not great.

Nice, clean, friendly hostel for all ages.
It’s not a party hostel but there are still plenty of opportunities to socialize while you still can sleep if you choose to. Don’t be surprised if you meet with guests in their 50s and not just 20 something’s.

Me salvaron la vida. De ahí mis 5 estrellas ( y son pocas para las que merecen ).
Me encontré un 5 de agosto, domingo, a las 16:00 horas en la terrorífica situación de encontarrme sin habitación en The Independente Hostel & Suites ( unas calles más arriba ). Todo pese a mi reserva de 7 noches ( ya pagada de 198 euros ) hecha a a través de la agencia ATRÁPALO.
Entre los impresentables del hostel The independente y ATRÁPALO me llevaron a una angustiosa situación en la que me ví obligado a buscar corriendo y desesperadamente otro sitio para no dormir en la calle con mi maleta. Sólo y a 1400 kilómetros de mi casa .
Bajando y subiendo las empinadas calles del barrio lisboeta, con el corazón al borde del colapso llegué a la escondida Fala- só y me metí en una pensión. De allí me indicaron que fuese al SAFESTAY LISBON.
Y allí encontré a un ángel sonriente, una maravillosa recepcionista que hizo lo imposible para que pudiese dormir durante 7 noches , con los cambios oportunos en dos habitaciones diferentes. No sólo no me importó sino que estaré eternamente agradecido a este maravilloso hostel que recomiendo a todo el mundo. Por sus instalaciones, por su precio asequible y, sobretodo por la humanidad y la amabilidad de sus trabajadores.
Todo lo contrario que el indecente The independente Hostel & Suites que me trató de manera inhumana y sin profesionalidad, pese a tener mi reserva y haberla pagado a través de ATRÁPALO.

Propriedade bonita e muito bem localizada. O quarto era organizado e limpo, os rececionistas amáveis e dispostos a solucionar os problemas (tivemos um pequeno problema na cama, mas ajudaram de imediato). Pena não existir ar condicionado no quarto, pois seria perfeito.

Incrível! Hostel lindo, bem localizado, amei! (Vá disposto a subir ladeira e escadas) fica próximo ao metrô, mercados, lojas e padaria, a rua de acesso é um charme, toda grafitada, têm um bondinho (elevador) que só sobe a rua, mas é uma atração a parte!

Toll und zentral gelegenes Hostel. Neben einer weitläufigen Terasse, hat man vor allem von den Balkonen im ersten und zweiten Stock eine fantastische Aussicht über die Stadt. Die Zimmer sind schlicht eingerichtet, doch enthalten alles ausreichende. Die Bäder sind etwas eng, doch meist sauber und gepflegt. Auch die Duschen sind sauber und funktionieren gut.
Das Frühstück ist zwar sehr einfach gehalten, doch wird dies durch den schönen Wintergarten und die Terassen wettgemacht. Die Küche enthält alles nötige, sodass man sich jederzeit gut selbst versorgen kann, auch wenn alles (auch beim Frühstück) selber gespült werden muss.
Auch das Personal ist immer freundlich, hilfsbereit und sehr umsichtig.

Cette auberge est juste géniale. Il y a tellement d'espace dans les chambres que ça en devient dingue. On a des coffres pour ranger nos affaires. Il y a des multi-prises (ce qui n'est pas le cas dans toutes les auberges dans lesquelles je suis allé)

Old building but very well maintained. Right in the middle of the city. Walkable distance to most of the attractions around. I got a room with a fabulous view on top floor! Friendly staff! The only problem is that you have to take stairs to reach the main entry door from the street, if you have a heavy luggage this might be a problem.

Man muss sein Geschirr abwaschen die 10ner Zimmer sind winzig und zu guter Letzt spielen irgendwelche kleinen adipösen Türken die ganze Nacht irgendwelche ruskihardbass Versionen.

Hospedagem tranquila, localização ok. O quarto em que fiquei fica em outro imóvel ao lado do hostel, porém bem perto. O quarto era bem grande e um pouco barulhento, mas consegui ter uma boa noite de sono. O valor da diária é bastante em conta.

Quiet accommodation, ok location. The room I stayed in is in another property next to the hostel, but very close. The room was quite big and a little noisy, but I managed to get a good night's sleep. The daily rate is very reasonable.

Two stars for the friendly staff and the great venue! Wouldn't pay for breakfast there, not worth the 3 euros especially when A Padaria Portuguesa is 5 minutes away (go there or for one of the similar next to it) . Rooms ok, nothing else. Very loud if towards the yard area.

One of the best places for a budget stay in Lisbon. They have 24/7 reception, which is rare for Portugal. It's located really close to Restoradores square,2 metro stations are nearby. The place has been renovated recently, and has even bigger bar & lounge area. The terrace is quite nice. I love to enjoy a glass of wine for just 1 euro during their happy hour.
Just one thing, if you are on the top bunk bed, ask for a ladder, as it's a bit difficult to climb without an extra ladder.

The room rate includes free breakfast: Bread, milk, coffee, and oats.
The handsome guy at the front desk is very friendly. When I ring the doorbell downstairs. He come down and help me with my luggage.

The hostel is ok. The crowd is a bit alternative and it seems that there are a few people living there. I didn't feel very safe and later i have heard about people getting stolen. The staff is great and helpful. The location is good too but if you are coming back on your own to the hostel at night you might find scary to walk trough some streets with no lighting.

Réservé pour un groupe de 12 personnes.
Très bien situé entre le quartier qui bouge et celui des métros.
Nous nous sommes retrouvés dans une même chambre rien que pour nous au rez-de-chaussée dans une sorte de grand garage aménagé.
Le fait d’être entre nous est un gros avantages pour nos affaire.
Deux douches et un VC.
Petit bémol une seule clé d’entrée pour 12 personnes c’est un peu limite.
Pas de porte serviette dans la douche les affaires sont trempées par terre a même le béton car il n’y a pas de carrelage.
Grande pièce un peu humide et sombre.

Las habitaciones sucias, llena de moscas. El desayuno fue un desastre. El internet no funciona.
A la llegada al hotel, no tenían las habitaciones como la empresa de viaje las había pedido. No teníamos habitaciones designadas.
El recepcionista nos abrió a puerta sin tocar utilizando la llave maestra a las 2am, éramos 8 niñas en la habitación. Todas dormíamos y abrió sin razón, sin permiso y sin autorización y se fue sin pedir disculpas.

I would recommend to stay at this accommodation as it 5 mins walk to old city, well connected with 2 metro station and 5 mins walk to high street. The view are breath taking from my window of the Lisbon hill. I loved the vibe, breakfast and 24 hours helping staff at the front desk. They also printed my tickets for free and Mel at reception gave helfull advice how to explore the city. I stayed with a friend for a weekend and we both loved the vibe of the kitchen area!

Wonderful Staff! Very friendly and helpful...Huge thanks to Joao, Davi, Mel and everybody who works there...They are very polite and professional! I do appreciate everything! The kitchen and beds are comfortable and clean. The location is also a plus next to Gloria elevator! The only thing we do have to mention is that is advisable to get a taxi on our first day to avoid climb a hill and get tired with luggage, but apart from that the atmosphere and place are nice really close to Bairro Alto, Restauradores, Rossio and Miradouro de Sao Pedro de Alcantara, so can t be better...I love Safestay and wish can stay even more...

Staysafe is in a good location, the front desk staff are friendly and helpful. The building is a couple of hundred years old with about 150 beds. This leads to a lot of work and maintenance which they are trying to do. The beds are comfortable but tricky. The bunks are steel and the upper bed is supported by the 2 rear verticals, not 4 which is normal for bunks. This leads to more movement than a 4 post bunk and this transmits to the lower bunk. The lower bunk has 2 large lockers underneath it. This means that the lower bed is higher and to keep the upper bed from being too high they reduced the height between beds so you cannot sit up in a lower bed. The doors for these lockers are hinged at the top so you have to hold them open with one hand and then move your bag into the locker with the other hand. Better to have the hinge at the bottom. In some beds the ladder is located behind the bunks so you have to be pretty agile getting into the top bed.
The beds and the floor squeak so it is hard to get up in the middle of the night quietly. I was concerned about fire exit signs. They are small and green and in some places nonexistent. From the top floor a good exit leads right out to a street but the sign says you should go down 3 flights of stairs which in a fire would be mess. Also the fire department water connection at the lower street level requires some source of water which does not exist until someone connects it?? Then this water could flow to the hose connections on the 3 floors except there are no hoses on those floors?? Fire extinguishers are sometimes hidden behind little walls and probably could not be found by staff or guests when the building was full of smoke.

it's quite shocking that in a room with 12 people there's only one ladder and everyone has to share it.. so dangerous to be jumping down from the top bunk which is very high because you wake up and there's no ladder. also nothing to do with the hostel itself but I almost committed murder on here, 3 grown men snoring in my room... someone hold me down

Clean, neat, tidy, safe, great for travel. People from different places and backgrounds stay like hippies, there is always something happening. It initially felt like a college hostel but in a day, it felt more like a close knit community of travelers who not only want to explore but have bizzare ideas and plans. I would recommend this for travel bugs and small groups who just need a bed to sleep with a locker for 2 bags. In Summers you might not find place to walk on the street so book in advance. Get to know people, common breakfast buffets, clean environments.
P. S. The evaluation is based on the characteristics of the place. For the definition, the price and the quality, this is one of the best you could have. There are many more locations at offer. You could suit yourself.

Estaban realizando refacciones con lo cual la sala común no estaba disponible, los únicos 2 baños de planta baja se compartían no sólo con las personas de las habitaciones si no con las personas de la cocina, con lo cual estaban sucios todo el tiempo. A la cocina también le faltaba mantenimiento y limpieza, el te y café gratis se agotaban rápidamente y no se reponian. El WiFi funcionaba mal, hasta que dimos con un encargado (al 2do día de estar allí) que nos solucionó el problema, el resto no nos dio respuesta. En general los encargados resultaron bastante indiferentes a cualquier consulta o reclamo.
Salvo por la buena ubicación no lo recomendaría.

Muitas escadas!! Sem elevador! Subi dois lances de escadas (fora a da entrada do hostel), ainda bem que recepcionista me ajudou. Muito ruído no piso de madeira e nas portas. Sugiro algum tipo de isolamento nas camas, daria mais privacidade ao hospede.

Het was een prima hostel. Schoon en net nieuwe douches. Wel een beetje een kuil in het matras haha maar ik sliep er wel goed om. Grote keuken en plek om te zitten. Stiekem miste ik nog een lekkere bank ;) Locatie is perfect, je loopt zo het centrum in en je hebt een prachtig uitzicht vanaf balkon. Als je trwns goedkoper wilt eten dan in de dure restaurants in de omgeving van het hostel dan kan ik je aanraden iets verder te lopen. Daar heb je lekkerder eten en goedkoper dan in het centrum. Oh en de bakken onder het bed zijn ideaal om je spullen in op te ruimen en op slot te doen! Eigenlijk zouden ze daarin ook een stopcontact moeten maken zodat je telefoon kan opladen achter slot en grendel ;)

Fiz o chek in e fui informado que não tinham chave para me dar do quarto ou seja.sempre que quiz ir ao quarto tinha que pedir para me abrir a porta. O beliche faz barulho por todo lado. O chuveiro esta em obras e para tomar duche temos que ir a outro piso. E para terminar a limpeza do hostel e um nojo. Foi a primeira vez que fiquei neste hostel foi a última.

Horrível. Se pudesse trocaria de hostel agora! mas não devolvem nem parte do dinheiro. O hostel é sujo, a cozinha com utensílios sujos, o banheiro fedido pra caramba.... agora o pior de tudo.... o barulho que o chão faz .... impossível de ter sossego.... ah e o quarto onde estou da de frente para área comum... um barulho infernal de pessoas conversando e rindo enquanto vc quer dormir. Não recomendo nem por uma noite

The hostel was in central location near to the main attractions but I think people should be made aware that the hostel is on a steep hill. It was a bit hard to climb the steep hill the first time because I had luggage but later I was happy because the location is pretty central. It would be nice if the shower had more facilities like more hooks to hang clothes. However, it was not the best hostel I ve seen but it provides a good value for money. It would be 4 stars if the wifi worked but it never worked for me in the room all 3 days.

Double room was wide and comfortable.
Wifi speed was very good.
Shower rooms are terribly wet.
I advise you should set small mops for wipe water after cleaning by user as airplane toilets.
Twin room was unbelievable small and uncomfortable particularly for couples.

My booking was canceled! It was some problem with me second payment and I had a letter that I would have 48 hours reservations. I had send e-mail to ask how I can pay it, but I didn't get answer. After 20 hours, I arrived to hostel , but my booking was canceled. It was 10 pm, hostel was full and I had to explane for 15 minutes that I had been having a reservation.
Shower rooms were duty and without any hooks. Rules about silens in hostel after 11 pm is funny, because the hostel full of loud all the time. At 1 am on reseption playing music, singing and no one controls it. Also no one control guest behavior, a lot of drunk guests. In my dorm one night stayed person, who was in really bad condition with some narcotic expiriense. All his behavior was deffenetly unsafe and scary. Hostel should have name "Unsafestay".

SafeStay Lisbon was a truly bargain deal. I got a great welcome at reception from David, who was upbeat and very helpful during my two-night stay. As this was the cheapest in Lisbon, you get what you pay for. I had a top bunk which was not that comfortable and the full dorm room was not always quiet at sleep time. But those are minor grumbles for the price. It's not the easiest spot to get to half way up a steep hill. I got the tram to the top and walked back down. Then there is the long flight of steps up to the front door. If you have heavy luggage, this might not be the place for you. The showers were being renovated during my stay, so there were only two showers for the entire building, making it impossible for everyone to use them. Nevertheless, it is centrally located and if you are up for hills and stairs, it's a great deal. Breakfast was provided and was adequate with many options. You can also bring your own food to prepare in the kitchen. Overall, it met basic needs for a two-night stay and for the price, it can't be beat.

Spacious and lively hostel, perfect quality/price relation and fun atmosphere! My room had a terrific view to the city. A bit noisy with some groups at the time, but staff were able to control them which was really great to see.

I stayed there 11 days and should say that place is cheap , but noisy due to train station in neighbourhood. As well it is hard to stay in 14 or 8 dorms room due to high people traffic (at nights as well). Hostel is placed in old town center, so dining out is pretty expencive and there are no big supermarkets nearby.

Big and clean hostel, I have stayed in the female dormitory just one night, the main problem I would say is noise as you can here everything that goes on especially at night and I had the misfortune of staying with some girls that came late at night and rummaged through their things for quite some time. Otherwise, can't really say much as I have only stayed for one night, good points are the 24h reception and cleaniness.

Acabei de chegar ao hostel e o que salva é o staff, apenas.
Conforme comentado, as duchas são péssimas. O rapaz me informou que estão reformando as do 2° andar, mas a higiene ali da ducha do andar da recepção tinha que ser feita de meia em meia hora. Há um aviso apenas em inglês na ducha pedindo para avisarmos à recepção se a limpeza não estiver boa, isso é péssimo.
Cobrar 2.50 pela toalha é um roubo.
Os andares cheiram a mijo e à pessoas bêbadas.
Meu beliche não tinha iluminação própria, tampouco tomada.
Sugiro aumentarem o preço para oferecerem um serviço melhor.
Não ficaria mais que 1 noite aqui.

ドミトリーの入り口はホステルの入り口と別にあります。鍵が壊れ気味で解錠するのに手こずります。明るい時間帯にコツを習得した方が良いと思います。
スタッフは親切に対応してくれました。良いホステルだと思います。

Não cheguei a ficar nesta pousada. Tão depressa vi as instalações onde ia passar a noite, passei pela recepção e informei que não ficava. O grande problema foi a falta de isolamento acústico na minha camarata e uma ventilação duvidosa dos quartos de banho.
Nem ao menos, me propuseram uma opção alternativa.
Toda a informação escrita me foi disponibilizada apenas em inglês, o que é inaceitável.

My stay at Safestay was super great. I honestly have no complaints. The hostel is well sized with lots of space. I was in a all female dorm with 6 beds and it was super clean, neat, and even with people coming in and out it stayed that way. I didn't take advantage of the breakfast but it is an option, which is awesome. My biggest concern was the shared showers, however that was just fine as well. The bathrooms were also kept clean. The staff is also super nice, lively, and helpful. I would recommend staying at Safestay!

I spent one weeknd at Safestay Lisbon, It was wonderful I had great time and got to know new people. I badly recommand Safestay. However, they have a serious problem in cards that open badroom's doors, every time it doesn't work, so i have every time go down stares to the reception in ordre to change it, and I was staying in the second floor and there's no elevator... So they really have to change those cards.

Mi estadía en Safestay ha sido excelente, la atención, limpieza, seguridad, ubicación insuperables. No dudaría en volver, pues realmente fueron muy amables al recibirme, para los viajeros de fin de semana, no hay ningún problema en estar allí durante el día haciendo tiempo para tu bus o vuelo de regreso. Siempre tienen disponibles los aseos, duchas y espacio de descanso en el salón (pufs, sillones y sillas en terrazas) aún incluso cuando ya has entregado tu habitación o aún no es hora de check in. Quizá, únicamente no lo recomendaría a personas que tienen problemas para subir muchos escalones, pues realmente hay que subir muchos antes de llegar.

Me han cobrado una reserva tres veces. Lo que en principio iban a ser 10.24€ han acabado siendo más de 31€.
Hice dos veces la misma reserva por error y me dijeron q la cancelarían sin problemas. No sólo no me llegaron a devolver el importe de la primera reserva sino que me cobraron una tercera vez estando ya en España.
Llamé al hostal y me dijeron que se pondrían en contacto conmigo. SIGO ESPERANDO.

Very good service, extra 3 euros for breakfast where is big assortment of different products, good kitchen. Some rooms has amazing view! Workers are really friendly. Pros. Location is walkable to a lot of points of interest. Staff are very accomodating.
Con. Getting there was a challenge for me. Being 67 and have week knees, I thought I was gonna drop dead by the time I got to the hostel. You have to climb up hill side by side with a funicular (that tells you how steep it is). Then climb up some stameps to get to the hostel. Then again climb some more steps to get to the door of the hostel. Once chkd in, climb more steps to get to your room.

One of my favourite hostels to stay. Classic architecture and design invites the guests to a communal and social stay, encouraging conversation and friendships among guests. I felt very safe and clean here. The front desk went above and beyond and was very knowledgable about the city, helping to plan my short stay there. It is a convenient location close to the train station, a historic trolly, and great view of the city. It also happens to be not far off of a Rick Steeves Walking Audio tour.

Nos encantó la atención! El personal muy amable y siempre al servicio. Se podría mejorar la cama que era medio dura y poner algunas estanterías en la habitación, lo demás estaba bien por el precio. Very nice place for Backpackers and any traveler, its easy to meet new people there and have fun. Good bre2for 3 euros, and they care about their guests, if there is something wrong, they will fix it on the spot. All the receptionists were extremely friendly and helpful with any tips you would want to know about, plus it was the cheapest hostel and so close to the city, truly an excellent choice.

I wish people would be more honest in their reviews so that you aren’t surprised when you land. It is true the hostel is close to the busy old town area, HOWEVER to get there requires a hike of epic proportions. And then additional stairs when you get to location and then more stairs when you get to your room. The place is old there’s nothing they can do about it. Why they chose to renovate during the busy summer season is beyond me but alas I can’t imagine that they can keep the facilities clean enough with majority of showers now working. There’s no atmosphere at all and they do try with cheap drinks but it’s just not the vibe here. I wouldn’t ever stay here again- hostels have evolved far beyond this place.

What a great place ! I've been there a few times and like it WAY better than several others I have tried in Lisbon and elsewhere.It's a big old mansion and has a great big common room ,a TV room, huge front patio with a balcony rail looking over the street, and a couple of levels outside in the back with some grass,bushes, trees,and benches, washer/dryer machines and clothesline, a great glass top dining room , Kitchen and rooms are big and clean, and they keep the bathrooms clean and both staff and guests are the BEST, especially the Manager, Nunu, who knows EVERYTHING about Lisbon !!! So many interesting and cool people there, and such a great central location ! It's worth the short walk uphill from Restauradores station, because then you are halfway up the hill to Bairo Alto, only a couple of blocks from Erasumus Corner, possibly one of the happeningest spots in Lisbon for partying.

Me gustó el lugar pero e de decir que la puerta de mi habitación estaba estropeada y no se podía abrir, había que hacer malabarismos para conseguirlo además, para poder acceder a las literas de arriba tenías que ser casi un gimnasta. Pero bueno como digo el sitio estaba limpio y había buen ambiente, si volviese a la ciudad creo que repetiría.

Essen: sehr schlecht, da Teller und Besteck selber mit der Hand gewaschen werden musste und das Essen an sich war schon nicht gut
Standort: perfekte Lage, die letzten 2min zum Hostel sind wenn man von unten kommt nichts für unsportliche Personen
Bad/Toiletten/Dusche: Duschen sind gut, da es einzelne Kabinen gibt mit warmen Wasser; Toiletten sind mittelmäßig wie in meiner Erfahrung nach in ganz Portugal; Bäder sind klein, aber zu ertragen
Personal: hilfsbereit und sprechen gutes einfaches Englisch

Muy barato y muy bien situado. Buen wifi y buen servicio. Sin embargo, las habitaciones podrían estar mejor equipadas. Las literas no me resultaron muy cómodas, la taquilla muy mal situada y pequeña. Además, la habitación me pareció que estaba muy oscura.

I was planning to stay for only two nights, but decided to stay for two weeks instead because I really was really enjoying this hostel. First of all it is in the middle of the centre so it is a perfect starting point to discover the city. The staff is also very helpful, speaks different languages and the they take care of the cleanliness of the kitchen and bathrooms. You get a lot for the little amount of money you have to pay. Definitely will return to this hostel the next time i am in Lisbon!

PROS:
The location is great - within a walking distance to the city center and many attractions, restaurants. Also, pubic transport stops are nearby. The staff was friendly and helpful.
CONS:
1. The walls and doors are thin and it's very noisy even if you stay in a private room. More to that - one morning we woke up to the horrible drill sound. We were not notified about that and when trying to ask a girl at the reception when it would stop - we couldn't wait for her to stop her phone conversation. We had nothing to do but to leave the room asap not to get a headache. 2. It was pretty cold in the shared bathroom (in November). 3. The breakfast was very limited (milk, cereals, coffee, bread, apples). 4. The bed linen was messy, with dark spots on the quilt (though it smelled clean).

Breakfast was not really good, we got one card for 10 people to the room. At the reception they speak english and work 24 hours so thats a big plus.

Auberge de jeunesse très convivial, la pièce de vie est parfaite pour la détente avec son bar et sa terrasse, cuisine complète à disposition, chambre et douche propre, petit bémol sur le déjeuner très maigre. Auberge situé hyper centre d'un côté de la place principale et de l'autre des bars, à 5 minutes du métro.

Wonderful place, staff and common areas. Really loved the cleanliness of toilets and rooms as well as the and cool vibe you feel in the lounge room. As a traveller, this was one of my best experiences so far, def will come back!

In general a very relaxed and comfy place. The fact that the hostel is open all 24 hours of the day is awesome. Placing is also nice: close to the sea, train station, metro and general inner city (and also to the party-street). Rooms are okay, since there are good commen areas (big terrace, living room/reception, tv-room etc). The place offers a kitchen (free to use) and refrigerators (also free), which makes it easy to eat cheap. In addition, there's also a bar (with happy hour 18-20). The staff is friendly and funny and the place is surrounded by a homely feeling. Only cons are the breakfast and the toilets. The breakfast serving has a hard time keeping up with the amount of guests and the menu isn't anything faboulous. There isn't any good papertowel-solution.
All in all a very good place (especially for large groups).

I have never seen such a clean hostel! It was great, and a great waterfall shower. Also a great place to meet people,I met so many people there. You can sit in the terrace on the front or the back, and there is also a living room and a tv room. They're also really well organised and super helpfull and friendly. You can come home anytime.

Le petit déjeuner est offert chaque matin avant 10h (pain, thé ou café, confitures)
Belles terrasses des deux côtés.
Proposition de découvrir Lisbonne avec un guide gratuit pendant 2h en anglais ou en espagnol.
L'accès à la chambre avec une carte (caution 5€).
L'auberge est entouré de restaurants très proche.

Ostello per chi non ha troppe pretese, alcune cose si possono migliorare ma comunque non troppo dispendioso. Quasi in pieno centro. Ha un bar interno ma nulla di che.

The hostel is reasonably priced in a good location. I stayed in a room of eight people, it was very clean and pretty comfortable. My only complaint was that there was street construction or something all night which made it impossible to sleep.

Friendly staff, clean, perfectly located, nice breakfast. Stayed there for just one night for a stopover flight. Obviously it's a pretty inexpensive hostel, so don't expect a family hotel. Lots of young people, noisy in the night, minimalistic interior, but yeah: that is pretty much what you expect for a 19€ hostel near the bars and clubs. (Picture is the view from room 105)

Foi uma noite terrível. Hóspedes gritavam feito loucos, meninas subiam e desciam as escadas aos berros, todos em estado alterado. Parecia um rave. Um escândalo total. Havia comentado com um funcionário, pedi que eu precisava dormir pois ia ter que acordar muito cedo pra viajar, mas nada adiantou. Debaixo da cama uma sujeira, podiam passar uma vassoura todos os dias. Instalações mais ou menos. Escadaria pra chegar na porta do hostel. Foi muito gentil o funcionário que me serviu o café da manhã.

Descriminação por parte dos funcionários que parece que só querem estrangeiros uma pouca vergonha...Darem o cartão da porta a outras pessoas e irem ao quarto das nossas colegas roubar e mexer nas coisas..visto isto tudo não torno lá

Funcionarios sao uns mal encarados ja para nao falar nem a nossa lingua falam.
Imenso barulho por todo o hostel pareciam caldeiros a bater toda a noite
As casas de banho so existem duas para cada piso (femenino/masculino) chuveiros igualmente
Para publico jovem nao vale de nada mas e que nada mesmo
Peço desculpa por o meu portugues mas e mau mas e rapido e nao estou com rodeios...

Very friendly French receptionists. But lots of check ins and check outs which makes it too long waiting sometimes. Also my mattress was dirty but sheets were clean. Found some hair and hairs... But very nice view and very close to every touristic areas.

La calefacción no funcionaba, era un solo baño para 12 personas, el baño era de uso mixto, una sola llave para todo el grupo. No lo sugiero para grupos grandes.

Awesome hostel with nice staff and great location. The free breakfast is kind of tasteless but it's ok. Free bread and coffee served all day. There is also a bar in the hostel.

You get what you pay for the price. If you're just looking for a cheap place to stay then this may be the place for you, but if you're looking to cook or get on the Internet look elsewhere. The stove didn't work when I visited and the WiFi was really in and out. I probably wouldn't stay here again

Good hostel but a few negative points. The WLAN didn't work that well. The showers were sometimes cold. The brunch is very very basic. And you have to clean your own plates which isn't very hygienic.

Alles ziemlich hellhörig, sehr laut, die Küche steht ziemlich ab (Essen und Geschirr liegen in den Spülbecken), Angestellte ganz nett aber für die Größe des Ladens einfach zu wenig. Gemeinschaftsraum gut eingerichtet, aber auch zu laut. Ist das erste Mal, daß ich mir ein neues Hostel in einer Stadt suche.

Good atmosphere, excellent views, well-kept facilities. There's nothing particularly special about this hostel, but there's also nothing really wrong about it. Even the price is fairly affordable (not quite budget though). Would happily stay again.

Nice atmosphere and views. Close to everything. If you don't like stairs then perhaps it's not for you (there are quite a few to get from the restaradores and then leading up to the front door). A bar with decent prices and 3 for the price of 2 between 7-8pm. Free breakfast includes; muesli, cornflakes, and a cocoa option; bread, butter, jam, choc-hazelnut spread, apples, tea, coffee, orange juice. Under-bed storage lockers are a bit useless; small, stiff and awkward to use.

Estive ai na passagem de ano 2015/2016 e foi espectacular vocês não brincam em serviço foram 5* continuem assim... :-) valeu a pena os dias (apesar de poucos) que ai passei. continuem assim.

Great place to crash while in Lisbon, just inbetween the bar quarter Bairro Alto and the Main Station Rossio. Here you get everything you wish for on a budget trip: good price, good environment and even a great view of the city. The rooms are tidy and there are enough bathrooms. Dorms are spacy and newly refurbished.
A cool modern hostel with a good cocktail bar and chill out spaces you should definitely see it for yourself!

The rooms and the prices were decent, however the staff were quite rude. They unlocked the doors and entered our rooms while some of us were asleep to spy on us.

El hostal en general merece bastante la pena, por lo económico que sale.
Es bastante grande, muy bien las zonas comunes y el buen ambiente que reina dentro.
Tienen una pequeña barra de bar junto a la recepción donde a su vez se encuentra el salón principal. Se puede tocar la guitarra, ofrecen variedad de juegos de mesa, etc, o simplemente sentarse a relajarse y leer o charlas y pasar el rato.
Las habitaciones son también bastante grandes, creo que de unas 16-18 camas donde yo dormí, y mixtas.
Los baños estaban limpios y por la mañana preparan un buen desayuno, con variedad de cereales, pan, zumo, fruta y dulces.
Está en una callejuela un poco escondido, pero en hostal en sí me pareció seguro.
