We loved everything about this hotel!! It’s on a beautiful beach, our room was spacious and beautifully appointed. The staff provided excellent service, special thanks to Deborah, Pedro the Manager, Katarina and Mariana. The food was spectacular!!!! It was an amazing stay. The only downside is that it’s about 30 min from Lagos!

The property is beautiful, but there’s nothing to do. The spa was a huge disappointment for the cost of the service.. the plunge pool room reeks of mildew and the massages were mediocre at best (we booked 3 and 1 facial). They are a gated property with a huge parking lot so charging for parking was pretty pathetic. Being told we can’t eat anything that isn’t purchased from the bar was a little much as well, so we snuck our own snacks in anyway. We were a large group and there’s a store literally across the street. Sometimes you just want to nibble on snacks, not order a meal or beverage from the bar.Would be nice if they had shuffleboard or a games room, croquette, I don’t know, ANYTHING in the way of entertainment. Maybe live music or something on occasion.The staff was wonderful, as were the breakfasts, impeccable really, but sooooooooooooo slow. Order your coffee/tea and eggs IMMEDIATELY or you’ll never get them. Also, the hard boiled eggs are soft so if you want a true hard boiled, specify clearly. The lattes, fresh squeezed orange juice and Madeline’s are delicious.The showers leak onto the floor, all of them, it’s weird. They have this half panel of glass that moves & water goes everywhere, which you waste half your towels wiping up. There’s also a weird window into the shower with shutters that open from the outside & you can see through even when they’re closed.Was hoping to hear the history of the building, but nobody knew anything.. its gorgeous!

Ein Traum, eine Oase der Ruhe und der Schönheit. In einer sensationellen Lage auf einem Hügel, der ansonsten eher hektischen Praia da Rocha, wurde diese alte und lange leer stehende Villa zu etwas ganz besonderen gemacht. Mit viel Stil und Liebe zum Detail wurden keine Kosten gescheut, um dem Gast ein einmaliges Erlebnis zu schaffen. Der Service ist unaufdringlich, aber aufmerksam, genau das was ich an der portugiesischen Mentalität liebe. Natürlich nicht ganz billig, aber auf jeden Fall sehr gut investiertes Geld!

Certes l’hotel est d’une belle qualité et le personel aux petits soins mais malheureusement l’environnement est horrible- surplombé d’immeubles- vue sur plage avec animation. Aucune intimité et un sentiment d’emprisonnement. Nous avons ecourté notre séjour. Cet hotel est une abérration pour les amateurs de lieux de charme et de tranquilité - notamment pour les fidèles de relais & chateaux.

Optimal für Rollstuhlfahrer. Wunderschönes Haus. Geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Tolle Küche. Hebeplattform am Restaurant. Dusche mit Duschsitz und Haltegriffen (mein Tip: Hocker gegen Armlehnen-Metallstuhl vom Schreibtisch austauschen!). WC mit Haltegriffen. Sehr hilfreiches und handverlesenes Personal. Besser geht's nicht! (Trotz hohem Preis: Sich mal was Besonderes gönnen!)

Glamorous place with amazing views over the beach. Cocktails were very well presented and tasty. Definetly visit for the experience. Its a hidden gem.

Very service and the dishes exceptional. Minor details. I will suggest to make reservation in advance during holidays. Something not so good if you have to cancel for any reason the will refund only 50%. You must pay attention. By all means do is a beautiful boutique hotel with nice views of the Atlantic Ocean

Beautiful hotel with stunning ocean views from the rooms- ours had very nice balcony to relax in the sun. We enjoyed outdoor breakfasts on a beautiful terrace overlooking ocean. What added to the experience is the Vista restaurant with young and talented chef who definitely has a great future ahead. There is a great bar to relax with nice interior, very wide selection of excellent liquors and the bartenter who knows his job and how to entertain customers. Everything fits perfectly together to make the stay a memorable experience. We will return and in the meantime, can recommend the place to everyone.

Beautiful hotel, it felt like a little fairy tale. Great for a relaxing couples trip. The food at the hotel was delicious, the room was cute and very clean. The service was excellent. Although we did not like the region as much, this hotel is a jewel and we will definitely go back there to recharge our batteries.

My husband and I spent five nights at the Bela Vista as part of a three week trip to Portugal. It was a perfect oasis. The hotel is relatively small and is beautifully decorated. The service was exceptional. Dinner in the Vista restaurant was outstanding. Views from the hotel over the beach are gorgeous. We decided to forego some sightseeing plans and spent most of the days relaxing en premise.

Lovely hotel but kind of an island around a very busy seaside town. Once you inside the hotel the pool is lovely plus comfortable rooms. I would say the food is good but not great. Even the very fancy dinner was good for about half the tasting menu they rather basic for a few dishes. We enjoyed meals off the hotel site more. Still very relaxing and great service.

Ein wunderschönes Hotels - wie eine Insel der Ruhe am Rande einer sonst recht touristischen Stadt. Die Inneneinrichtung ist genauso schön, wie man sich das von den Bildern erwartet, auch das Schlafzimmer war top. Trotz des luxuriösen Ambiente herrscht eine entspannte Atmosphäre. Das Personal war äusserst freundlich. Vom Garten mit Pool blickt man direkt auf den lebhaften Strand und die Steilküste. Das Nachtessen im hauseigenen Sternerestaurants des Hotels war ein kulinarisches Erlebnis.

Siamo stati al ristorante (una stella Michelin) e abbiamo mangiato molto bene (menù da 4 porzioni) e bevuto abbastanza bene (non allo stesso livello del cibo). Tutta l'esperienza è stata assolutamente di livello (location, accoglienza, presentazione dei piatti e dei vini). Un po' complicato l'iter della prenotazione (sostanzialmente obbligatoria). Prezzi alti ma in linea con quelli degli altri ristoranti stellati.

For the money the worst hotel I've stayed in Europe...poor service...overpriced..they knew 8 months in advance my 25th anniversary and screwed up my room and did nothing to re accommodate me...not even a bottle of wine etc to save face and say sorry?!!.basically a big FU..so many other good places within steps cheaper...I'm serious..warning...dont stay here!!!!!!

L’architecture intérieure et extérieure de ce Relais et Châteaux est magnifique, la vue sur la mer est super si vous avez une chambrette vue mer. Mais, Je suis venu 2 jours pour fêter notre anniversaire de mariage avec un coffret Relais et Châteaux. J’ai choisi l’endroit par rapport à la photo du catalogue qui est trompeuse; vous avez l’impression d’être tout seul et non, vous êtes entourés d’immeubles, Hotels, bars, restaurants et discothèques . Vous profitez de la discothèque jusqu’à 06.00 du matin. Ma chambre était très petite, je ne pouvais pas ouvrir ma valise en deux! Petite SdB pas moderne (a refaire ). J’ai demandé une autre chambre ( mission impossible ) à l’accueil le personnel qui parle Français est champion du baratin. Super restaurant gastronomique ...à faire!!! J’ai envoyé un rapport et photos à la Ste « Relais et Châteaux »

Etablissement de rêve ! Ce fut un séjour superbe, létablissement est magnifique tant extérieurement quà lintérieur, le barman est un magicien, le personnel à nos soins parlant toutes les langues et le spa est un lieu denchantement. Seul point noir: la cuisine gastronomique, manque de choix, le fait que le chef impose son menu est dommageable. Sinon séjour inoubliable mille mercis.

Amazing historic building & perfect service! We really enjoyed our 2-day stay, the staff was caring and friendly and the dinner in the hotel bar was really good. It’s definitely an exclusive location! There’s just a detail why I did not rate with 5 stars: the area around the hotel is rather ugly and noisy (our room was located towards the city side), there is a casino, Karaoke bars and very touristic party places which you cannot see on the hotel’s website/pictures. Parking at the hotel was 15€ per day which they did not tell us before, it was kind of a surprise to us that it was not included in the room price.

Great, friendly and very professional staff. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful during our whole stay. The room was nice, a bit too small and had only one window to the busy and loud street. That was a bit disappointing as we couldn’t really sleep because of all the bars and karaoke places on the street behind the hotel. The pool, the restaurant and the breakfast were good. I am giving four stars only because of the location of the hotel. It is located on a busy street of Portimao, the view on the ocean is very nice, however not the view when you turn around. Another annoying thing was that they charged us 15€ for parking per day, which we didn’t know in advance. It’s not that we’ve already paid quite a bit for the rooms...

This hotel is truly an Algarve oasis. There is so much history and richness to every room. The restaurant is exquisite and the wine selection is some of the best Portugal has to offer. The spa is also wonderful. Absolutely nothing but the best!

Thank goodness we were staying at this hotel! It was beautiful, peaceful and completely stood out compared to the rest of what’s around. The town of Portimao was such a disappointment, it was too crowded for our taste even in mid season and we didn’t come to Portugal to feel like we were in Ireland to be honest. But now that we know this we will never be returning to this area. The hotel however is highly recommended, we are always satisfied with the Relais & Châteaux group.

há 9 minutos no Google Hotel e restaurante maravilhosos. 5 estrelas é pouco para classificar este oásis em Portimão. Tivemos a oportunidade de fazer uma degustação de pratos com o chef João Oliveira, na mesa do chef (na cozinha a ver como tudo se prepara), e foi uma experiência única e memorável. O menu apresentado manteve-se sempre ao mais alto nível, não se verificando altos e baixos como já tive oportunidade de degustar com outros grandes chefs. Tudo irrepreensível, incluindo a simpatia, dedicação, entusiasmo e atenção do chef e da sua equipa. Relativamente ao hotel, igualmente irrepreensível. Staff extremamente atencioso e competente. Ficamos nas 2 suites que possuem e qual delas a melhor.... difícil de escolher. Obrigada a todos por terem feito o meu dia de anos de memorável e cheio de mimos. Até breve.

Hervorragendes Hotel. Professionelles, freundliches, zuvorkommendes Personal. Man kann nicht anders als sich rundherum wohl zu fühlen. Tatsächlich kam ich mir aufgrund der sehr zuvorkommenden (jedoch nie übertriebenen) Art im Hotel wie im Film vor (so stelle ich es mir zumindest vor). Ein eigener Weg führt zum Strand. Morgens wach werden, vom Zimmer zum Strand laufen, danach zum reichhaltigen, frischen und top zusammengestellten Frühstück... Eine tolle Location, die wir definitiv wieder aufsuchen werden. In der Umgebung sind Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Unterhaltung zu finden (wer mag).

I am very disappointed of this hotel! I booked for a room with the ocean view, and they gave me a room with plants view! I told them that we are in our honeymoon, but they did not care! I will never go back again! A lot of money for bad service!

Great location on the beach. Wonderful old home that is now a hotel. Many of the features inside are originals from the 1918 construction. Rooms are large and the beds are extremely comfortable. Great service all around from breakfast (included and has a wide selection of juices, fruits, bread, pastries, meats and an egg menu). Pool is gorgeous though you'll want to spend your days at the beach enjoying the waves and water. Parking is 15 euro per day which I think should just be included.

Currently enjoying a lot in your hotel. Very economical. Excellent service. Everything is well-organized & wifi is working superb.

This hotel was by far the most beautiful hotel in all of Algarve, inside and out. The main house is decorated in original tile and has amazing rooms. The staff was the best i have ever dealt with! They were able to provide me with the exact room i requested and made my fiance and I very very happy. They also went above and beyond when i accidentally left my passports in the hotel room safe without realizing it. They emailed me and phoned me right away and i was able to pic them up before missing my flight home that week. I would of gotten to the airport and had a horrible experience if it wasn't for their staff. Go with Bela Vista for your Algarve stay!

The staff were incredibly attentive catering to your every need. The grounds were immaculate with a terrific view of the beach. Pool was perfect temperature and chaise loungers were constantly being supplied with fresh towels. Our room was spacious, super clean, lots of closet space with very nice bathroom. Breakfast buffet on the sunny deck was a great way to start the day!

This place was absolutely amazing. Your every need was met as requested...The staff was unbelievable...Deborah, Mara, Elona, Joana, Natalia, Eugenio (just to name a few..i know i am missing some ) were fantastic. It will be hard to stay at another hotel after experiencing the service at this one. It was an oasis on a crazy street :)! One negative is the price for parking your car on a daily basis. The parking should definitely be included. Hence, the 4 stars. Third visit and the quality is maintained. The staff are amazing with particular mention to deborah,allana and mara. They make it extra special with service unlike anywhere ive ever been before. It is unfortunate that it is not adults only and over 12s are allowed (whilst limited in number). The pool area is quiet and relaxed, the spa is excellent and very good value for money. Being gated and off the main strip is ideal as it keeps the hotel secluded but literally 2 mins from shops and restaurants. We have stayed in the main hotel, the garden rooms and the blue house and the garden room is my fav with lovely see view balconies. The free smoothies by the pool are fantastic. Expensive but worth every penny

The hotel is gorgeous and service is exceptional. Location is also good as it's just by the beach. I'm giving it 4 stars as food is excellent but a bit overpriced. You can have similar food quality at the restaurants on the beach for half price. Also rooms are a bit tiny for what I was expecting.

If you want to wat at a special location this is a true diamond in Portimao. The food is very tasteful. I had the salmon in avocado.

Amazing property, location, etc., and for the most part the service was good, but on the last day they couldnt give us even the slightest late check out and insisted that it was because they needed three (3) hours to clean the room before the next guest arrived. They admitted that they didnt know exactly when the guest would arrive, but that they need three (3) !!! hours to clean the room. I explained that the day before, they cleaned the room for us in about 20 minutes. Then there was a whole explanation of all of their cleanliness standards, etc. They made us feel like we were the reason they needed three hours to clean the room.... however, as a couple with borderline OCD, we left the room pretty darn clean ! We also had trouble with our check-in as our room was still in use by another guest, so we had to spend the first two days in a lesser room than we paid for, and still, they couldnt give us an extra hour of late check out.... I would not return to this hotel, even though the property is well located and in great condition.

Wij hadden een photoshoot van Mimoneda van 21 sept t/m 27 sept 2016 Goed hotel, netjes en schoon, eten redelijk. Alleen heel jammer dat er gestolen wordt door de schoonmaaksters uit je kamer het wordt zo sneaky gedaan dat je het bijna niet door hebt ze halen niet heel je portemonnee leeg maar laten iets achter. In andere kamers waren dure zonnebril, Ipad en waarschijnlijk ook sieraden maar dat was niet te controleren.

Wenn man sich auf etwas besonders freut, wird man in der Regel nur enttäuscht, da die Erwartungen oft höher sind, als das, was man schlussendlich erlebt. Zum Glück traf dies auf das Bela Vista Hotel nicht zu, das Hotel ist einzigartig, das Interieur geschmackvoll, das Personal stets bemüht und überaus freundlich und das Essen (vor allem das Abendessen) ein absoluter Gaumenschmaus. Die Anlage ist wunderschön gestaltet, das Haupthaus ein Blickfang -und das nicht nur für die Hotelgäste, sondern auch für vorbei spazierende Urlauber- und die Poollandschaft der perfekte Ort, um zu entspannen ... und sich zu bräunen. Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass es nur eine Ecke in diesem Hotel gibt, die nicht perfekt gestaltet ist, hier beweist jemand wirklich Liebe zum Detail! Was vielleicht zu bemängeln wäre, ist die (zu geringe) Anzahl der Liegen am Pool, leider bekamen wir an einem Tag anfangs keine Liegebetten, die Rezeptzionistin war aber sehr bemüht, kümmerte sich um unser Anliegen und kurz später wurden welche frei (jedoch nicht, weil sie andere Hotelgäste verscheuchte, sondern weil um die Mittagszeit die Sonneneinstrahlung an der Algarve sehr intensiv ist und viele Gäste sich dann lieber in ihre geräumigen Zimmer zurückziehen). In einem 5 Sterne Hotel ist es nicht angebracht, Plätze am Pool zu reservieren, wir taten dies aber tags darauf (leider) vor dem Frühstück, um auf Nummer sicher zu gehen. Eine Alternative wären Liegebetten in Reserve, damit alle Hotelgäste, die den Tag am Pool verbringen wollen, sich dort auch aufhalten können. Ich kann dieses Hotel jedoch trotzdem uneingeschränkt empfehlen, hier arbeitet das vermutlich freundlichste Hotelpersonal in Europa. Ich komme wieder! :)

Hotel de 1935 renovado. Fue el primero del Algarve, en el que se ha respetando el azulejo y detalles del pasado, para ofrecer una experiencia única.

The hotel was very beautiful. I was expecting a lot more from the level of service considering it was a 5 star chateaux Relais property. I would think the company chateaux Relais would be embarrassed by their service. There was no actual concierge so the front desk handles the requests. Our second day we asked for a recomendation for a nice seafood dinner. The lady at the front desk called and confirmed with us later without properly advising us about the restaurant. We drove 45 mins to the location and was so embarrassed as there was a dress code that didn't allow casual wear ie. Nice khaki Shorts. ALSO she sent us to a 2 STAR MICHELLIN restaurant without telling us about a dress code or that it was a 2 star Michelin for 200 euros each for a long lengthily 8 course tasting menu with no other choice but that. We made the best of it after 4 hour long hours and 600 euros on dinner and wine. The following day we spoke to the hotel manager to advise him about how embarrassed we were that the girl at the desk would send us to a 2 star Michellin without informing us either about the quality of the restaurant and or a dress code. The worst part in my opinion was how rude she was after we had privately talked to the manager in discretion and never once received an apology from her. The Dutch girl at breakfast was super pleasant and refreshing ! Their front desk ladies managing the desk need to be trained on etiquette and how to treat their guests. I would never stay here again. The area itself felt like a circus show with all the cheesy shops and the STRIP CLUB a few doors down. Save your money and stay else where. We ventured to the Conrad one evening for a pleasant night, the food, service , and location was very upscale- 5 min drive to the beach but better then the overall location of Bela vista.

We came to celebrate my mothers birthday- & from the moment we arrived were made to feel special and pampered!i have stated in amazing places worldwide but the staff here are the best!calm and kind- every small touch & detail has been created to make you feel truly relaxed & have a stimulating experience! The beds are comfortable marshmallows with high quality linen - turn down service is lovely with traditional service of slippers-bed time chocolate & weather charts-the complimentary film selection & latest series for in-room viewing is very varied & a nice feature. Dinner is a spectacular gastronomic experience not to be missed!!!the interior of bar & lounge is tastefully decorated-charming & chic! The staff all seem to glide across gracefully & anticipate your every need before you have even realised yourself!The staff even created a birthday cake and surprise for us at breakfast! The spa is so peaceful & relaxing! The treatments we had over two days were pure indulgent heaven! I have had many luxury spa treatments and this was superior- the loccitane treatment menu is carefully thought through & the beauty therapists deliver care and healing through careful & professional expertise! The surrounding area is not the same caliber as the hotel so the hotel & the beach are the main havens- which was fine for a mini break! Cocktails at sunset on the terrace- mixed and selected by the sommelier were delectable & provided the perfect toast of a glorious celebration!! It has been difficult to leave!

O hotel em si é o máximo. O problma é que que chega com carro tem que pagar pelo estacionamento 5 euros por dia. O serviço de quarto. Acabei de solicitar custa 5 euros por chamada. Uma coisa inaceitável num hotelbque quer se colocar neste nível é muito melhor colocar no preço da diária.

We love the bela Vista hotel and stay here when in Portimao. There is not much I would change about this hotel or the designs, everything is wonderful and so beautiful. The location is excellent, close to the shops, bars and restaurant and right on the beach. The restaurant is very good, although quite expensive, and the breakfast service is very good too, although a bit on the slow side. The hotel has a Spa and a small gym. I've tried both and they are ok, but not that memorable, the gym is very tiny and the spa quite expensive). The swimming pool area is wonderful! relaxing and calm and gets sun the whole day. The views over the beach and sea are stunning. We stayed at a Junior Suite this time and it was located in the second building closer to the street, which caused some noise to come in through the windows at night. That building has its own small terrace with sea views and we enjoyed sitting there in the afternoon and evenings. The Junior Suite had a small living room and a bedroom and was a good size. The price was quite high though (over 400 eur/night). I would suggest taking a normal room with sea view and terrace/balcony instead. All in all this hotel is amazing and one of my favorites in Portugal.

Great hotel with excellent service and extraordinairy cuisine. Every day in this little gem is a treat.

the main hotel building is beautiful, exterior and interior. Actual rooms didn't blow me away; room was a little on the small side and the modern decor was just okay. Complimentary breakfast was good with alot of variety. Nice patio dining area. However, dinner was very expensive and disappointing - not terrible just disappointing. Food looked great and was well prepared; it just didn't taste great.

Wir hatten ein Zimmer im 2. Stock des Haupthauses, mit 5 Fenstern (incl. Bad) zum Meer, einfach herrlich.Wenn noch etwas mehr Platz für Gepäck vorhanden wäre, gäbe es auch beim Komfort die Bestnote.Wenn ich allerdings die Hotelkapazitäten in der Umgebung sehe, bin ich froh, in der Vorsaison (Anfang März) hier gewesen zu sein. Mir wäre das im Sommer zu viel.
