colecção pouco interessante, seguranças pouco profissionais e sexistas, fiz uma queixa à administração da Gulbenkian e nem pediram desculpa, e depois ainda foram vasculhar o meu perfil no linkedIn para me avaliar e medir o respeito que me deviam (reparem na baixeza moral de quem tem este comportamento). Tanta arrogância nesta gente que se acha acima dos outros... e não ficou por aqui, recentemente li na programação da gulbenkian que iam segregar as "poetisas" só numa atividade, é ultrajante e mais uma vez só demonstra como a mentalidade de quem dirige esta instituição não está nada bem e é profundamente sexista e retrógrada.

One of The most charming places in Lisbon and one of The most complete and thought-through collections of art I had a chance to see. The buidling itself is designed to serve as a perfect place for displaying art. The whole complex is surrounded by beautiful park. Great place to feed your soul for at least couple of hours.

Lovely grounds with two museum buildings: the modern art and classical historical art. Can easily spend a couple of hours or even half a day there. There is a cafe in both buildings. Also a cloak room.

Gratuit le dimanche à partir de 14h. Sinon c'est 14 euros pour un adulte mais possibilité de remise selon l'âge.
La structure du bâtiment est intégrée dans un superbe jardin où il fait bon flâner.
La collection est magnifique! Tableaux, tapisseries, numismatique... époque islamique, égyptienne, art asiatique etc etc. Il vaut vraiment le détour!!!

Museo testimonianza del fondatore del suo amore per le opere d'arte moderne e della Cultura e Arte orientale, alche il parco nella parte posteriore del museo e accogliente e permette di fruire di uno spazio con sentieri e viali, laghetti, fontane e giochi d'acqua che accolgono piccole colonie di volatili che si son felicemente ambientati e che interloquiscono volentieri con i visitatori...

Impressive museum with large collection.
2 divisions: modern art , founders collection.
Most interesting was the modern art collection (after 1900)
The founder's collection is divided in regions and time periods, which gives a good impression of the art in that period, however it might start looking all the same at a certain point. I am not so fond of the diversity in carpets from the east of which they hold a lot. All the glassware is also, a little too much, although some are fine works of art. It is sometimes too much to be good in that part of the museum.

Un beau musée dans un grand jardin. Deux bâtiments, l'un est consacré à l'art moderne et contemporain, l'autre à l'art plus ancien. A noter une salle avec de belles pièces égyptiennes, une collection de céramiques islamiques, chinoises, du mobilier français du grand siècle, une collection de peinture de très grande qualité.

De beaux noms dans la collection d'artistes modernes, partie Lalique superbe. Jardins reposants. Lieu intéressant mais personnel au guichet et dans les salles incapables de vous renseigner. Venue pour voir des œuvres de David Hockney, personne n'a jamais entendu parler de cet artiste. Après avoir traversé le musée en long, et en large, à un des guichets, un Monsieur du personnel me confirme qu'il y'a bien 3 œuvres d'Hockney. Ne les trouvant pas un autre guichetier me dit : "non, on en a pas, il ne faut pas écouter le personnel qui vous a dit ça ! Je montre le guide Lonely Planet qui annonce pourtant David Hockney comme artiste à découvrir au musée Calouste et réponse : " il ne fallait pas venir de France pour voir ça ! Votte guide n'est pas un guide officiel. On n'a pas et artiste ici" .... Bref comment peut on embaucher des personnes qui n'y connaissent rien en art pour guider les gens... Grosse déception.

Della Coleção Moderna Gulbenkian viene presentata al pubblico solo una minima parte delle opere che essa possiede, che vengono esposte a rotazione. Essa possiede la più grande raccolta di arte portoghese del XX e del XXI secolo, più una sezione di arte inglese, una di arte armena e iraniana e una di artisti internazionali.

Il museo che ospita le collezioni Gulbenkian é assolutamente da visitare quando si è a Lisbona!
Vi sono pezzi di arte egiziana, greca, europea, mediorientali, centrasia, cinese e giapponese, solo per citare alcune zone. Sono esposti tappeti, ceramiche, gioielli, mobili, quadri e sculture, ordinati per area geografica e per cronologia.
La galleria di arte moderna vale la visita per alcune sculture e la sintesi storica del percorso del Portogallo, dal periodo coloniale ai giorni nostri.

Jardim aberto o público com áreas enormes. Muito agradável para respirar um pouco e ar puro !! Muito verde, muito natural. Ouvi dizer que os almoços num dos refeitórios locais são muito concorridos, facto que pude comprovar a julgar pela fila para almoçar. Bons preços pelo que me disseram. Muito, muito agradável !!

I really liked the modern art exhibits. Some of them are a bit over my head, but i had fun viewing most of them. There are informative panels with historical context in each section. There are a lot of benches to sit on if you get tired, and a cafe if you are hungry.

A very interesting museum started from Gulbenkian private collection.
We spent several hours going through several different sections of the museum and thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
It is a large museum and you can explore for hours the many exhibits displayed throughout the museum.
The exhibits cover modern arts as well the arts from the middle ages to the ancient Egyptian and Chinese cultures.
There is a cafe on the ground floor. You can get snacks and salad with coffee or a drink. The food is good and the prices very reasonable.
The gardens and the paths on the grounds of the museum are nteresting and beautifully landscaped.

A wonderful museum. The original collection of the benefactor is a truly wondrous combination for which the word eclectic was invented! There has recently been added in another building across the park a collection of modern Portuguese art which is also enjoyable in a different way! Set aside a whole day to do this museum justice.

Not to be missed! First hand collectioner, Gulbelkian, nearly undamaged objects. Better (but more modest) than the British Museum.

Modern art collection was smaller than you might expect. The grounds to walk between the two collection were nice, we had a drink in the cafe and it wasn't very expensive. We paid extra for the extra exhibit but there was no information about it and we couldn't find it, so that was a waste of money. The main collection was ok but perhaps again not as big as we expected. Signage wan't particularly good and we weren't sure what was part of the art museum and what wasn't - there seemed to be conferences going on but again there were no signs so we had no idea if we were in the right place half the time!

Naar Nederlandse standaarden een klein museum met moderne kunst (weinig/niet contemporair). Er is nog een ander pand maar dat hebben we niet bezocht. Ligt in een mooie omgeving/park en de horeca is eenvoudig en betaalbaar. Gratis toegang op zondag.

The building and garden are beautiful. The restaurant and coffee place serve nice and affordable food. Depending on what’s on, the place is more or less worth a visit for foreigners and depending of your interest in Portuguese history, which is shown a lot. And in times of global warming, the air-conditioning can be set at a lower rate; inside the buildings it is unpleasantly cold.

Affascinante, il parco intorno è bello ed interessante, ricco di vegetazione e fauna. Esiste un piccolo anfiteatro utilizzato per eventi. Nel museo si può mangiare.

O Museu de arte moderna condiz com seu nome. É um espaço amplo com diversificados tipos de arte contemporânea. Não é muito o tipo de arte com que me identifico, mas considero que visitando a fundação não se deixe de visitar até mesmo para aproveitar a diversidade que a fundação oferece.

Beautiful museum! There were great pieces displayed in a very tasteful manner. Plenty of space was dedicated to each item so that it could be properly appreciated. The layout of the museum goes basically from oldest to newest and the Lalique pieces at the end were the icing on the cake! Be sure and get the museum app as it explains some pieces in other languages which helps as nothing in the museum was in any other language than native!

I loved the ceramic plates from the Seljuk Era. They are displayed in chronological order and you can observe how human figures are abandoned in plate decoration through the years.

This modern concrete (not contemporary) museum is beautifully positioned into the landscape. Try the lunchroom in the back instead of the busy one at the entrance. The art collection is undefined. Too many one-offs. But the quality is high among the classical and contemporary artworks. Two William Turners from the permant collection made the visit worthwhile. The best museum in town to suprise yourself and visit more than once

Ótimo jardim, para mim um dos mais bonitos de Lisboa, muito bem integrado com a arquitetura do museu e da cidade. O auditório é lindíssimo com uns janelões sobre o jardim, o anfiteatro deveria ser mais dinamizado e as exposições do CAM são bastante boas na generalidade.

Я купувала квиток на весь музей і виставка сучасного мистецтва теж входила в нього. Я розчарована, експозиція переважно "ні про що", зображені то мазанина, де кожен намагається віднайти сенс, якого нема, то жіночі геніталії ♀️. Ще раз би туди не повернулась.
Як вийняток - було кілька гарних бронзових скульптур, але все інше не сподобалось.

The gallery is set in beautiful, tranquil gardens. A cool and peaceful oasis in the heat and noise of Lisbon. Turtles, carp and ducks swim in ornamental ponds that thread through bamboos, tropical ferns and trees. The collection is wonderful, a trip through the finest examples of European, oriental and Egyptian art. The Rembrandt's are worth the trip alone.

Main collection very good and better than the Art Antigua Gallery. Want so keen on the modern collection but depends on your taste. Very beautiful setting with extensive park to sit or get lost in. The area is mostly a business district so local cafés/ businessss serving local Lisbons which is a bonus if eating/drinking nearby too. Close to 2 major metro stations so easy to get to. There are a couple of cafés on site but didn't try.

Precioso museo enclavado en el recinto de la fundación del mismo nombre. Varios edificios rodeados de un jardín muy apacible y de un paisajismo muy cuidado. Espectacular la colección original del autor, con piezas de mobiliario, tapete, azulejos, libros, pinturas y objetos diversos que van desde Europa al extremo oriente, pasando por piezas de la época de los asirios y varias dinastías de Egipto. En otro edificio hay una colección de piezas adquiridas por la fundación posteriormente al fallecimiento de Gulbenkian. Hay varias cafeterías y tiendas de recuerdo de los museos. Los jardines del recinto son espectacularmente hermosos y apacibles. Los usuarios del Lisboa card tienen un veinte por ciento de descuento en la entrada a los museos. Los jardines son de acceso libre desde la calle. Vale la pena una visita.

Il complesso museale, inscindibile dal curato parco che lo circonda, è uno splendido spazio espositivo; l'arte di questo edificio parte dai primi del 900 ed è strettamente legata, va da sé, alla storia portoghese.
È possibile fare foto; il caffè annesso è discreto e, se siete di quelli che non possono fare a meno dell'espresso anche in vacanza, il loro non è malaccio.

Me ha decepcionado. Menos mal que lo vi gratis el domingo por la tarde. La colección de arte moderno es solo portuguesa y la colección clásica tiene muchas lagunas. Lo mejor es el jardín, un lujo poder pasar la tarde allí.

The gardens, buildings and exhibitions are great. I loved the peacefulness and quietness of every environment they created there. It's a gift to be able to wander around and seeing everything so well cared for. My only complaint is that I'd like to see more information regarding the items displayed, and also some more maps to help the visitors.

At the time of my most recent visit to the Gulbenkian Foundation's modern and contemporary art galleries I was very fortunate to see a screening of Grada Kilomba's stunning and thought-provoking film-based installation "Narcissus and Echo" (2019) - which was presented in 12 parts across a vast floor-to-ceiling screen, and accompanied throughout by the recitation and narration of poetic verse and lyrical storytelling. In addition, the modern and contemporary sculpture section featured a diverse range of pieces, from 20th century Art Deco figurative works through to more recently created geometric and minimalistic, abstracted designs.

Small but full of information! There are two separate museums in the park and I went to the smaller one. I’d say if you’d actually read all the words and background infos it would take at least a full hour. Great way to briefly learn about the history of art style in Portugal.

Wonderful collection of beautiful artifacts in the founders collection. Unfortunately the collection is not displayed as the founder preferred (it is now segregated by region and time). I didn't care for the modern collection. If you have limited time focus on the founders collection.

El edificio está en un entorno natural digno de visita y es enorme, con múltiples salas, zonas, ...
La colección en sí es muy interesante y desde luego hay que reservar tiempo para poder verla (y es mejor verla con calma).

It's a very beautiful and interesting museum, full of Portuguese art. It has a very helpful timeline that helps interpret the works and the general layout is very confortable to walk. It's a recommended place to visit in Lisboa.

Incredible founders collection and gardens. Gardens and food excellent. The modern exhibitions less compelling. The architecture overall is wonderful. Highly recommend. If you are to do all of it you will need at least three hours.

I am not generally a fan of modern art, and this wasn't the museum to change my mind. Too many of the pieces seemed to lack craftsmanship, message, or both. That being said, I'm sure fans of modern art would love it. The museum is free on Sunday afternoons, and is set in absolutely lovely gardens.

Shame it's not a bit bigger. But it's at the scale of the country. Very good! You'll find art exhibitions, music concerts, nice restaurants and coffees, nice garden with a pond, with ducks and fishes. Great for a stroll with the family and kids, etc.

Muy interesante la variada y rica colección de este museo. Su colección está compuesta por aproximadamente seis mil piezas de arte antiguo y moderno, de las cuales unas mil se encuentran expuestas al público. El museo abrió sus puertas en octubre de 1969, siguiendo las disposiciones testamentarias de Calouste Gulbenkian, industrial de origen armenio, establecido en Portugal a mediados del siglo XX, y que a lo largo de su vida reunió una vasta colección de arte, llegando a adquirir algunas de las obras del Hermitage que el gobierno soviético accedió a vender hacia 1935 para obtener divisas.

Visite de l'exposition Pos Pop et du musée d'art contemporain. Je dois dire que j'ai été totalement conquis par les choix de pièces et de toiles du musée et de l'expo. Des noms d'artistes inconnus (pour moi) mais une sélection assez incroyable. Ici les œuvres sont choisies non pas pour la notoriété de leurs auteurs, mais pour leur qualité intrinsèque.

W cenie wstępu do muzeum Gulbenkiana (10 eur - z Lisboa Card jest zniżka) można zobaczyć kolekcję sztuki współczesnej (jej wartość z pewnością dostrzegą jej entuzjaści). Znajduje się ona w innym budynku, należy więc przejść przez ogród, który jest świetnie prowadzony i w którym można odpocząć przy kawie.

Fantastic architecture. It may feel quant to some since it is in the 1950ies modern style. But the whole place has a fantastic atmosphere and is done so well that one cannot help but like it. The exhibits are mainly contemporary Portuguese art and one gallery has a historic perspective - very educational. I prefer the main building, but this is good too. Go see

Great museum, where you can see some master prices like Reubens, Rodin, monet, etc... The temporary exposition of mirrors "beyond the mirror" it is very interesting. I really recommend the museum and the surrounding park/garden.

The best way to discover contemporary Art made in Portugal as all the references are present in the permanent exhibition, further enabling the experience is a great building although not as good as the main body which houses the rest of the collection it is still remarkably well lit and the space organisation makes for a great experience for itself. As a plus all the main modern showings take place here as well and in the summer untill late at night for more convenience.
