This restaurant seemed super sketchy and not all that clean but the food was fantastic and high quality. A little pricey considering its Portugal but I guess with it being a specialty food you'll pay more.
If you are looking for an adventure I recommend this place.

Despite the alarming statement "indian/italian food" the food was really good.
Give them a try it was supercheap and really tasty. I got samosas, tikka, pickled mango and raita with a soft drink for 11€. ^^

It's a SCAM. They have 2 separate menus. They display one (right outside the restaurant) and then when you get to the restaurant, they will switch it up with the pricey menu. When you ask them for the other menu, they will give you a frown and behave in a rude manner. Will definitely not recommend place.

On first impressions i was a little worried. I mean Indian and Italian food? But pleasantly surprised. Amazing Indian food in general. Decor just needs a bit updating but otherwise great value for money

From best to worse: the location is spot on, the speed is quite remarkable, at least when they are empty, while the food is as good as in any other average Indian, witch is ok, the staff are forgettable and no special kindness is expected but the usual, questioning on satisfaction, but the decoration belongs to a naive painters' contest performed when they are drunk over absolutely bland furniture.

Estupenda combinación de Italiano/Indio donde poder elegir qué tipo de comida te apetece en una variada carta (con opciones vegetariana y vegana) y con la posibilidad también de pedir menú. El servicio es atento y educado. Intimo y acogedor, perfecto para un buen almuerzo después de una visita por Sintra. 100% recomendable.

Great Indian food!! Quite the gem of a find here in Sintra. Absolutely delicious and full of flavor.
Home is Seattle for me and we have a lot of good Indian food but this was right there at the top with one of my favorite Indian restaurants back home.
If you’re looking for something a little different than the amazing Portuguese food, definitely give Bengal Tandoori a shot!
It will be an excellent chance of pace with DELICIOUS Indian food!

I ate the Indian food and it was okay (Note: I am Indian and hence judging by that standard). There were some interesting combos on offer but they refused to swap a dish which is same price for another of same price on menu so I ordered a la carte. The curry was good but the Naan (Indian bread) was undercooked.

They do pizza, curry and pasta and have numerous offers on. I had a daal soup to start with and a pizza for main so I could at least combine the two. The daal soup was really nice, so on that basis I'd order the Indian side of the menu. I did the experiment, so you didn't have to go in confusion.

Great food, kind staff and excellent location . Ask Amarjit for authentic stuff if you like authentic if not they will cater to your taste. We enjoyed the food and good service. Best of all restaurants we tried.

What a gem! After a long day of exploring Pena and the Moorish palace all we wanted was a lovely hot meal! It was close to 5pm and we tried getting into two Portuguese restaurants only to be turned away (rather rudely as well!). It was a relief to finally be greeted here with a smile! And the food is one of the best Indian I’ve had in a long long time! Being an Indian myself I can say that the food is as authentic as it gets! We ordered the butter chicken and the chicken jalfrezi (both spicy) with garlic naan, and it was one of our best meals in Portugal! Please do not think twice about going here, the food is sublime!

Don’t let the location fool you, or the menu for that matter. Good, fast Indian food after a long day touring the Sintra palaces. Also kid friendly because they have an Italian menu also that includes pizza. Not special but a good solid change of pace option in a town full of tourist traps.

Genuinely brilliant. High quality, fresh, tasty and authentic Indian cuisine served politely and efficiently. Sintra's old town is full of overpriced, poor quality restaurants, all serving largely the same menu. Veggies suffer considerably with a lack of options. This place however not only caters to veggies with a large offering, but also charges fair prices for delicious, high quality food. Don't be put off by the decor and location. You will be well looked after and you will come out full and smiling.

Take it from an Indian, the food here is very good and is genuinely Indian. It is also reasonably priced at 8-12 euros for a meal. Just ask for mild spice or no spice if you can't handle Indian level spicy like my Italian friend.

Food was just okay. I ordered Lamb biriyani and lamb jhalfrezi with naan. Salted jeera lassi had plenty of cumin seeds that too non roasted and there was no salt in it. Lamb was not tender and it was too dry.

Tasty Indian food right in central Sintra. We ordered butter chicken and tandoori chicken and both were delicious. Portions were reasonable. Lots of seating in the restaurant as well. Would recommend.

We have had Indian food all over the world and I STILL put this as my favorite! It's so, so delicious! Please if you are in Sintra give it a chance, you will not be disappointed! We will be back in December and all I have hoped for is that stupid Covid didn't cause this place harm!! Their Chicken Kurma is amazing and I miss it so much!!!

Estafa. Pero cómo cualquier establecimiento del pueblo, que es un a ver quién saca más dinero al turista. Los platos ridículamente pequeños para el precio tan hinchado que tienen, la publicidad más engañosa que las fotos de un McDonald's, ponen una foto de un plato de pollo que no se corresponde para nada a la realidad, todo guarnición para hacer bulto. Y lo mejor la simpatía que desprenden los camareros, que parece que les tienes que pedir perdón por haberte sentado, no te pido que me sonrías o seas alegre, pero una cosa que esté bien.

Wonderful food and delightful service well done to Jas and the team.
Both non-veg and veg options are available in abundance. I went for the Goa Prawn curry from the page full of prawn dishes and was provided with both a generous portion and delightful flavour one of the best prawn dishes I've tasted in recent years.
We also went for the chana karai and the daal both were superb with the naan and rice...popadoms not worth it, the chutneys were great!
Highly recommended and stones throw away from Sintra Palace.

En nuestra visita a sintra buscamos un sitio bueno bonito y barato encontramos este restaurante algo escondido pero que cumple las espectativas 100% la verdad un lugar para volver. Aunque he de decir que el personal no sabe nada de español o lo justo le pedimos recomendación de algún plato y la verdad todo estaba delicioso tienes una selección entre platos italianos, indios etc... los camareros súper atentos y el local muy acogedor lo recomiendo 100%

We were in Sintra with some picky eaters. So far, they were generally unimpressed with Portuguese food (not me... them) -- and are even more reluctant to spent much money on food -- so it was proving difficult to find something everyone would love. This came up as a good vegetarian option. It's a bit dark inside, and feels slightly like going into a dark alley, but once there, they have a great and varied selection at really really inexpensive prices. It was absolutely perfect for our needs! All the curries we got were tasty- Paneer tikka I would totally recommend, the palak paneer was great. The kids got a pizza and really liked it. If you have people who are nervous travelers, go here: they speak English great, food is super accessible, and prices are great.

Bad food! Frozen and reheated in a microwave! The manager knew we were not satisfied with the food at all. He took back more than half the food we had ordered to the kitchen. Yet didn’t offer to write off a portion of the bill or offered to buy dessert or anything else! $54 for a lousy meal! I would not recommend it to anyone.

This place was very well hidden away from the main hustle and bustle of this very touristy town. Luckily they had a sign near the church in the thoroughfare. The sign contains a lot of their specials which seemed decent compared to a lot of the other tourist traps around the Sintra National Palace.
I decided to check them out after quickly checking a few of the top reviews to ensure it is at least 4 stars. I had to walk on and then under the ground floor to some apartments and around the corner before I was able to find the entrance. Yep it's safe to say it would had been almost impossible without the signs.
The restaurant was pretty nice looking on the inside, it's like those pubs that you see that would normally be heritage listed else and it does have that feel about it. It has some pretty nice art around the dining room as per my photos. It felt pretty cost and warm, which was good as it was raining outside. The place was surprisingly quite big for such a hidden away place where there was at least ten or so tables.
I was allocated to a smaller table nearest to the front of the dining room. Im not able to get network signals here, though luckily there is a wifi which was decent to allow me to stay unbored and wait for the rain to subside a little. However there doesn't appear to a power point in the room that I was in but there might be in the other room.
I ordered the mango chicken which is my favourite meal back at home, because I like the sweetness mixed into the curry. It was a little annoying that you have pay an additional €2 for a rice as this is normally included in Australia. This comes to a total of around €11.95 which is substantially more expensive than Australia as it's normally AUD$11 for two curries and rice. Other than the price, curry itself was really small for the price although they try to balance this by stacking the rice in a disproportionate manner as per my picture that makes you full. This is generally a no no in restaurant etiquette, my parents owned a restaurant previously and doing this makes customers really unhappy as there is little value for the amount you pay. The taste however was pretty good, though small in quantity.
I would encourage the owner to add more and not be so stingy with the serving. This will get you to that 5 rating as everything else was pretty good. The price by comparison to other restaurants in the area was better though still expensive. Worth coming to if you can't find a cheaper place and in need of some warmth!

After a day of sight seeing, we were ready for dinner. And fine with something other than the tapas or Portuguese food we'd been eating. This restaurant popped up in our search and we decided to give it a try.
The place is a little hard to find though you can smell the delicious scent of curry as you pass the restaurants in the main drag. Going down the alley, we settled in for a very enjoyable meal. The tandoori, palak paneer, lamb korma, and shrimp curry were delicious. Service was great. And the beers large. Well worth a stop.

Habitué des restaurants indiens, j'ai été déçu par celui-ci.
Personnel peu aimable a notre arrivée. Cuisine grasse et sans saveur.
Salade sans aucun assaisonnement.
Lasagne qui ressemble plus à une soupe, sans pâtes.
Regardez les photos, sur chaque plat vous verrez des traces d'huile.
Les prix sont quasiment identiques à ceux d'un restaurant en France, donc plutôt élevé pour le Portugal.
Et SURTOUT, toilettes petit et mauvaises odeurs.
Je mets 3 étoiles car:
-les ingrédients, bien que mal cuisinés ne sont pas mauvais.
-la terrasse agréable.
-les prix ne sont pas des plus attractifs, mais les menus sont intéressants

Ate at this restaurant in Sintra tonight. The best tandoori chicken I’ve ever had. I paid 11 euros for 3 pieces of spicy delicious chicken with rice and naan. My husbands vindaloo was also spectacular. Wish we’d tried it sooner so we could eat there again!

Had the lamb byrani - it was great, wife liked her vegetarian dish as well. They’re not the friendliest/most talkative servers but that’s been my overall experience in any restaurant in Portugal. Our experience here was outstanding.

Pour faire simple : nourriture sûrement surgelé et decongelé à la demande, plat fade et sans franchement de goût mais particulièrement arrosé de piment pour faire passer tout ça.
Je trouve cela dommage, une carte bien plus réduite permettrait de se concentrer sur une vrai cuisine indienne de qualité.
À sintra il y a pleins de petit restaurant traditionnel délicieux, peut être éviter de manger indien ou italien donc...

Le plus mauvais des restaurants indien que j'ai fait de ma vie. Seul le naan était correct. Ps : j'apprécie la cuisine indienne.
Samoussa congelé, pareil oignon frits congelés. J'ai pris un butter chicken, bof bof et on ne sentait rien d'autres que le piment. À éviter !

Für einen sehr teuren Ort hat dieses Restaurant ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Das essen schmeckt sehr gut die Auswahl ist sehr groß. Es gibt zudem eine sehr große Angebotsauswahl. Die Kellner sind nett und freundlich. Einzig das Klo fand ich nicht so sauber aber es war ok. Dennoch ein tolles Lokal.

Staff was not nice. They didn't talk to us. We ordered pasta with salmon and spinach lamb. Pasta was horrible and my partner didn't eat it. Spinach lamb was so so and meat was not cooked properly. In all Indian restaurants that I was so far, rice is included together with any lamb stew but here they charged me without even telling me in advance. Not recommended@

Poor attempt at Indian food. Butter chicken was not real butter chicken. The curry dishes we tried lacked depth, spices and flavour. Also, the somaso tasted awful.

It blows my mind that this restaurant has a rating of over 4. And yet not I suppose, since there's a lot of tourism in the area.
They serve some of the laziest Indian food, I've ever had.
The staff gave me a bad impression from the get go. They don't really talk to you, but instead mumble at best. I couldn't really decide if they were rude or if it was just 'their way'. I did however not care too much about this, as long as the food was going to be good.
I'd say that It's not really Indian food. They seem to take a bunch of shortcuts, like frozen or canned vegetables (peas for an example), which made the whole experience feel cheap.
The good thing about the place? I liked the Garlic Naan, and the portions were big enough.

Restaurant was great. The place its kind of ugly but it has an outdoor terrace thats fresh and has shadow.
The pizza was good but nothing special, but indian food was awesome, top of the line. We ask for a spinach with cheese thing and it was delicious. Id would recoment to order indian food, everything was great.

Excellent Indian food which actually tastes Indian. We had a horrible experience at another Indian restaurant here in Sintra so we were worried maybe all indian restaurants in Portugal serve some weird tasting so called Indian food.
But this place was excellent. Chicken Kadhai was our favorite and even Naan and chicken biryani were excellent.
When in Sintra and you want Indian food, this is the place to eat! Don't risk it anywhere else. We wish ate here yesterday too. Our 10 year old also gave this place a 10 out of 10.

The server couldn’t have cared or tried less. The food was edible, but not tasty. The atmosphere is like a somber dungeon. It’s the one restaurant choice we regret during our entire month in Portugal so far.

We loved the food here so much we decided to come 2/3 nights of our stay in Sintra! We had tried 6 dishes and enjoyed all of them! Great and friendly service as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

El lugar es sucio, aunque mi pizza estaba rica, las de mis amigos estaba asquerosa y se notaba que eran de supermercado. Para lo que ofrecían, la cosa salió por unos 39 euros para 4 personas. A uno de mis amigos le entraba un café en el menú y no se lo dieron. El sitio está en una calle de mala muerte y el interior del restaurante es muy oscuro. Por no decir, que el baño parece de otra época y las salsas que ofrecían de acompañamiento estaban asquerosas por no decir "rancias".

Okay so this place looks dodgy but it was fantastic! Just what we needed on a lazy Sunday evening.
I always think you should never order a different cuisine from the restaurant’s chosen speciality but in this case we had 2 great pizzas from an Indian to take away.
We had some drinks in the restaurant while we waited and chatted to the staff. Very friendly although a little overworked.
Don’t be put off by the exterior it’s great quality and SO much better than the tourist trap square.

If you find yourself in this place by accident do avoid the samosas. Worst ones I ever tasted (and I had a lot of them!) . Service is uninspired and waiter looked grumpy and intoxicated. Chicken madras was below average. If you consider this good Indian food you haven't tasted Indian food before.

Tandoori is a small sit-down restaurant tucked off of an unassuming alley, out of sight from the crowds of tourists in the center of Sintra. The food was served fresh in generous portions and was quite flavorful. The service was adequate - pleasant but not overly friendly; our server spoke perfect English and was happy to offer suggestions for the table of vegetarians and vegans next to us. Recommendation: try the chicken samosa... it was a delight.

Unscheinbares Restaurant in einer Seitenstraße. Der Kellner war zurückhaltend aber freundlich und aufmerksam. Hatten Paneer Pakoda und vegetarische Samosa, sowie Palak Paneer mit Naan. Die Vorspeise war ok, die Hauptspeise war ein Traum inklusive Naan. Wer Indisches Essen mag, sollte dort hin schauen!!

I really recommend the indian food there. I had the Palak Paneer with Naan and one of the best dishes served so far.
I don't understand why they have Pizza and other non indian dishes in their menu. They should stick to their core competency.
Don't get drawn away because of the low customer count. The indian food is really good.

Smaczne i bardzo duże porcje w menu dnia. Jedliśmy palak paneer oraz mix warzyw. Do tego ryż, placki z masłem oraz samosa jako starter. Dla mnie troszeczkę zbyt mało smaku, przypraw. Ale ogólnie dobre.

La comida india muy bien, el camarero es atento y sirve rápidamente, pero las pizzas no están buenas, creo que como reclamo puede funcionar pero luego decepciona. Mejor la comida india que se les da muy bien. Es un lugar acogedor aunque no es lujoso. La terraza está muy bien. Sencilla, pero bien. Lo recomiendo solo para pedir platos de la india que son su fuerte y están muy ricos, eso si, pican mucho.

Quiet little restaurant in a busy touristic town. I definitely wasn't expecting proper Indian food but that's what I got! Delicious! As a bonus you get a quiet esplanade tucked away from the confusion in the main street.

Wow what a find. Didn't expect to come to Sintra and eat Indian but so happy I did. The food was just simply amazing. The place is very unassuming and is hidden down one of the little side streets that can easily be missed amongst all the tourist traps. Butter chicken was great. And very well priced.

Este restaurante fica fora das ruas frequentada por turistas pelo que o considero um dos melhores lugares para comer em Sintra. A comida é saborosa e os preços não são exagerados.

Was craving some curry while in Sinatra and came across this gem. The food was outstanding. It's only a one minute walk from the main square. Skip all the mediocre restaurants that are tourist traps and come here to eat. Prices are fair and the food will NOT disappoint at all. I grew up in India so consider this a legit validation of Indian food. They also have pasta pizza etc which I did not try but saw someone at the next table order of and it looked good. I'll definitely reccomend this spot and so happy google took me here!

Después de dar vueltas por Sintra para ver algún sitio que me pareciera atractivo y no encontrarlo bien por aspecto o por precio, acabamos aquí y bueno comimos tres personas por 25 euros con bebida y sin postre...la calidad buena, el sabor muy bueno ....así que desde.punto de vista una buena elección.

An Indian-Italian restaurant?! I know, it may sound somewhat odd, and you have to try the food though, because it is made with love & tastes delicious, at a fair price. Sunil K made my meal such a delight, that I got take-away the next day. Stop in for a bite if you're visiting Sintra :-)

Visited the places twice already. Very very very tasty food for a very good price! Incredible helpful and good service. Last time I went they even offered us free whisky and Beirao at the end of the meal. Will definately return here next time I'm in Sintra.

We enjoyed a reasonably priced and tasty dinner here. It wasn't the best Indian food I've ever had, but it was quite good, and a nice change.
