Overpriced food , not authentic indian atmosphere tries to come across as a luxury restaurant when it's not, price was definitely luxurious. Staff was impeccable though and food came quick. They kinda take advantage of the rich people around.

Shocking food. We were here just after it opened, hoping to find somewhere new in QDL. Totally disappointing with all 6 of us commenting that all food tasted the same. All sent back and we left incredibly disappointed. Not to be repeated. Note a lot of the other reviews have only reviewed this restaurant giving it 5 star. I am incredibly sceptical after the terrible food we were served. Be warned!!

Finally got a fantastically fancy place. Visited last weekend, visiting many years coriender indian launge but this place touches my heart, they can't beat royal Indian cuisine, God their chicken balti is fab,food was super delicious. Normally I found people usese caned food but they are very professional in term of using fresh food as well. Superb service and great decor.cant wait for my next visit next year. Will b a big hit in Quinta do Lago. Hats off to specially manager who described everything in detail about food.

Slightly different with a singer on the porch, but we found it very welcoming, extremely tasty and great service.

Just had a fantastic meal at the Royal - very tasty and plentiful. Staff very professional and nothing is too much trouble - highly recommended and will definitely revisit. Says on the website ‘cash only’ - we have just paid by card and it was no problem. Pay them a visit - you won’t be disappointed!

An amazing Indian restaurant to go to! The staff (one young man in particular) were super friendly, nice and wanted to make your meal the best it could be! The food was also delicious, and as I am a very picky eater I was very surprised to find the curry so delicious! Prices are normal I would say not expensive. Only downside is it's fairly small, just one room for the diners, but there is outside in the summer. Other than that it's great and I would really recommend it!

Awful interior and lighting. Mediocre tastless food for Indian food. Ok service. Bad room acoustics. Drunk noisy brits not being told to calm down. Warm restaurant even in winter. Suspect many fake 5 star reviews.

We regularly holiday in QDL, and noticed this Indian beside the Conrad, where we were staying. We were very pleasantly surprised, mixed starter was very good, but our main courses were superb, Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken and Methi Lamb, all extremely tasty, and with lean meat, on a par with our favourite Indian - Dishoom in London. The Peshwari Naan was delicious too. The only criticism is that they don’t do desserts, although we’d eaten so much, we may not have had space! Excellent. (It was so good that we went back again later in the holiday!)

Just visited with the family. Excellent food & service. We had the chicken chilli masala, chicken madras and the chicken korma (we like chicken). All were authentic and really good. Just like we’re used to having back home in London. The prices were very reasonable too. Highly recommended.

take away Tandoori chicken and mixed grill very tasty. Pakoras ok. Recommended for authentic take away.
