The rooms weren’t what I consider big, but we definitely had space where I didn’t feel like I was in a shoe box. My favorite part of this hotel would probably be the lower level - the pool and sauna were a nice retreat to home come to after a long day of sightseeing. Loved the decor.

Hotel agradável de qualidade, bem situado e com boas acessibilidades. Apenas peca pelo preço algo elevado e no caso da nossa suíte, a alcatifa apresentava várias nódoas escuras e um aspecto bastante envelhecido. Atenção à armadilha que é o estacionamento da EMEL no início da rua, com alguns lugares previstos para táxis que estão sempre desocupados pelos mesmos, e que induzem em erro os condutores, mesmo utilizando a aplicação da EMEL que deixa estacionar neste local, mesmo que não seja correcto. No meu caso foram 130€ de multa mais desbloqueamento da viatura.

The hotel looks really big from the photos. It isnt. Kinda hard to find it at first because I was looking for a bigger building. The room was small but very nice. Personally, I thought it was the perfect size for a hotel room. The bathroom was very nice as well. The pool was surprisingly large. My daughter got a massage at the spa, she made an appointment and got in the same day. The place was pretty much brand new and spotless. I had to iron a shirt for dinner. The laundering prices were, frankly, outrageous, so I asked the front desk for an iron (there isnt one in the room.) Housekeeping arrived in about a half hour with one (at no cost.) The restaurant was very good. The prices were in line when you do an apples to apples comparison. The included breakfast buffet was very good with excellent service. The bar prices were a bit high, as they almost are in a hotel bar, but the service was excellent. The location of this hotel is phenomenal. Its probably 3 blocks from a major subway station (Marques de Pombal) and two blocks from another. The subway runs every 5 minutes or so and is 1.50 for an hour worth of riding. We walked to San Jorge castle, even with all the stairs, it wasnt bad (<30min). You can walk to Barrio Alto from here. The Avenue de Liberdade is Lisbons equivalent of Fifth Ave. My only complaint is the lighting control for the room. I couldnt figure out how to turn off the lights next to the bed. Eventually pulled the bulbs. lol

Dieses 5 Sterne Hotel erfüllt die Erwartungen und ist im Vergleich zu den angrenzenden Hotels im Bereich Liberdade noch bezahlbar. Pool Bereich ist schön und groß für ein Stadthotel. Zimmer sind gut und zweckmäßig. Service ist auf 5 Sterne Niveau.

Highly recommended: comfortable stay, therapeutic spa treatments, scrumptious dining, location. Thanks especially to Marisa at reception for above and beyond excellent customer service. Check-in was a breeze and she took care of everything for an early check out the following day...including a cup of espresso. Thank you, Marisa!

Very poor service, staff looked as if they were attending a funeral... Very unsympathetic the customer relations manager was not only patronising but she also kept interrupting me saying that I was not making her happy, which obviously meant that she was confused thinking I was working there and she was the customer. Further to that the hotel has very uninspiring interiors, no one smiles and they hugely over charge for their product and service, (I heard a fellow guest complaining of this when I was checking in) ... Stay away if you want my opinion. I moved hotels to the pessoa which is the complete opposite smiling faces, great service, stylish light interiors its like being in a different world!

Incredibly lovely hotel with one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Fantastic location- surprisingly quiet considering how close you are to the main street. Great pool and gym area (07:00 - 21:00).

Well what can I say. It was me and my partners 10 year anniversary I let the hotel know and when we arrived we had a bottle of cold champagne waiting for us in the room. I loved it. Thank you once more. Lookong forward to staying at your hotel in the future. Hotel facilities were excelent. Made use of the pool steam room and sauna. Payed extra for breakfast but it was worth it.

Tem um bar no último andar com excelente vista.
O bar e restaurante no térreo também são uma excelente opção, tanto para um "drink" antes de sair quanto para jantar.

J'ai passé un séjour merveilleux dans cet hôtel ! Les chambres sont parfaitement propres, avec une petite terrasse agréable. Le personnel a été aux petits soins, et le petit déjeuner était qualitatif et quantitatif. La piscine, le sauna et le hammam étaient vraiment les bienvenus !
En bref, je recommande et j'y retournerai volontiers !

Leider wurde das SPA umgebaut. Fehlende Handtücher am Pool und in der Sauna wurden erst nach Anfrage bereitgestellt. Die Bereitstellung dauert etwas lange.

Excellent séjour dans cet hôtel de qualité, le personnel est accueillant et professionnel. La chambre est spacieuse, bien décorée, très bonne literie avec un point positif et non négligeable, trois oreillers de moelleux à ferme. Le buffet du petit déjeuner offre un large choix avec des produits très frais. De plus l'emplacement est idéal et très calme. Je recommande cet établissement.

Sehr gutes Hotel, allerdings könnten so manche Dinge besser laufen. Die Sauna Zeiten sind schlecht und die Sauberkeit in den Zimmern ist nicht ganz in Ordnung obwohl mehrmals täglich wohl jemand rein kommt und etwas Ordnung macht?! Das Personal ist freundlich und das Hotel liegt sehr gut, um einiges zu sehen. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Balkon, wo andere riesige Terrassen hatten, die leider lieblos aussehen und man könnte da auch mehr Wohlfühlatmosphäre erwarten. Alles in allen aber ein tolles Erlebnis gewesen unnd der Jacuzzi auf dem Dach ein Traum

This hotel was probably the nicest overall of those we went past in our travels in Lisbon. Location was perfect, staff attentive, pleasant and knowledgeable. Accommodations were fantastic. Breakfast was great but expensive. We’re not able to just get coffee as had to order buffet as only option. Food excellent. Sky bar wonderful. Would definitely stay there again!

O Hotel PortoBay Liberdade esta super bem localizado e possui um atendimento de primeira. A Bety, concierge é nota 1000, além de todos os demais funcionários do hotel. O café da manhã é maravilhoso e o quarto sempre esteve em ordem. Somente o banheiro que é um pouco pequeno. O hotel também possuí uma piscina interna aquecida, sauna, spa e uma pequena academia. A comida do restaurante também é deliciosa. Ótimo custo benefício em Lisboa.

Really nice hotel, situated close to famous sightseeing attractions by metro (3 stops) or taxi, both easy to use. The room and bathroom was comfortable. We don’t usually go to hotel restaurants as we have had some bad experiences in the past and paying well over the odds for mediocre food. The restaurant here however was impeccable, the quality and variety of food offered was second to none and reasonably priced. Also the staff were professional and welcoming. Thank Of the three hotels visited since Christmas in Barcelona and Rome we will be coming back to this one. Just to relax in the spa, pool and sauna, and end our evenings with a beautiful dinner in the restaurant. Would definitely recommend.

• if you get a room with a window at the front of the hotel, open the windows ... it’s nice

• Beds were two singles large crease disguised as a double
• Keys barely worked
• Place needs a new decor, it’s quite dark
• They have a smoking area right outside the hotel, smoke gets into the lobby ewww
• No service at the door (someone to open the door), no porter to help me to my room ... room service food was ok
• I found a dirty cleaning glove on the floor of the room when I arrived ...
• They just don’t do the extras, treats in the lobby, snacks in the room, they are not trying to suprise or delight me and the basics ... they don’t do right. This is not a five star hotel ... it’s 3-4 I’ve stayed in marriots better than this place eww

I’ve been coming to this hotel for couple of years already. Since my last stay I noticed the service was getting bad but decided to give it another chance. This last stay confirmed that “something” happened and service just went downhill, it’s messy, service at the bar is not good, have to ask multiple times for something, no one follows through etc... rooms are good I must say but might be my last time here.

Die Lage des Hotels, das außerordentlich freundliche Personal, der Service, das umfangreiche leckere Frühstück, das hervorragende Abendessen und vor allem der Geburtstagsgruß mit einer Flasche Prosecco und dem Stück Torte mit Kerze. Ein wirklich gelungener Urlaub. Ich würde jederzeit das PortoBay Liberdade weiterempfehlen.

I have organised a business retreat trip for 16 folks here and everything ran super smooth, since the beginning.
They helped us with the transfer, for which they have a partnership with a shuttle company.
Staff were beyond lovely and attentive, always there to help.
Place is super clean, they have Ritual amenities and, by the afternoon they leave small chocolates on the bed - oh wow!! It's just nice to come back from a whole day out and find chocolates on your bed!
I had a room with a terrace and, were it in summer, it would've been splendid.
The curtains are like three layers and you can perfectly adjust the amount of light, up to complete darkness.
They have a cute restaurant and the breakfast is beyond descent - they even have pastéis de nata!!
As (a completely irrelevant) cons, I'd point that it annoyed me a bit the fact that every time I "logged in" the room with the card, the TV would turn on.
Totally recommend it!!

Great location . The room was great clean with a nice coffee and tea maker. Mini bar and snack bar. The shower is great with good water pressure. The room was very quiet.The reception staff were great. The breakfast buffet was good. The taxi fare from to airport varied from 16 to 25 euros. I liked this hotel a lot .

Get beyond the grand facade, good location and warm welcome from reception staff, and the true nature of Portobay ( or as we re named it PortoPAY) Liberdade is revealed.
Everything seems to be an £extra... want more water in your room, you have to pay, more coffee, (OK tea was free!) you have to pay, a bit of bread with your meal you had to pay ! given a voucher for a glass of wine with your meal you have to pay !
Breakfast was hit and miss, quality was overall good, but too many times we had to remind wait staff to bring tea / coffee out or cooked to order eggs ( and we were not alone).
We ate once in the restaurant, and sent the bill back 3 times to be corrected. No apologies offered, no one even our after dinner coffee for free in any form of compensation.
We ordered 2 coffees whilst we were waiting for our taxi, which never came.
..........and on the subject of the taxi, reception were quite keen that we pre ordered a taxi, when it came it was clearly not a standard licence taxi, but looked far more like a private hire car. The driver attempted to charge us 60 euro for the 20 min run to the airport, when challenged this "miraculously" became 16 euro, quote "because my English is not so good" ???
We are very experienced travellers and "know our way round" good bad and indifferent hotels, so we can confidently say overall a very distant from 5 star experience was had.

It was horrible hotel I’ve ever stayed 5 stars. I have stayed so many 5 stars in over the world this hotel is the Only offers one bottle of water no matter you are staying longer and capsule coffee will be charged extremely ridiculous fee. Room condition was not competitive what I paid. It looks totall 3-4 stars and not worth to pay for here. You can find much better hotel near in Lisbon please do not stay here. I am not joking

Plus jamais! Vous avez plus intérêt à ne réserver que pour une nuit même si vous comptez rester plus longtemps! en tous cas si vous souhaitez avoir du café dans votre chambre! Cet hotel prévoit un « plateau thé-café à disposition dans les chambres pour votre arrivée , mais au delà de la première nuit, je vous conseille de prévoir vous-même d’avoir vos capsules car ils n’en fournissent plus! Alors que tout reste à disposition (thé et machine à café)!

What a superb hotel it beat all our expectations from the room, breakfast we also had dinner in the restaurant and cocktails in the bar, everything was excellent, Daniel on the door was so helpful with directions and the Portuguese tarts. It was my birthday and a bottle of sparkling wine and a cake and candle was waiting in our room. Superb hotel and experience thank you.

I am Norwegian but live permanently in Portugal. Upon check in I was told I needed to produce a passport which did not have and they refused to let me check in. Luckily I had taken picture on my passport and was able to check. During the whole time staff was rather rude and not very understanding. Nt once was it mentioned in our correspondence that it would be necessary to have a passport during check in even though I received numerous emails. My recommendation is that you should make all guest aware of this as it was just luck that I had taken picture of pass port. But what was really annoying was that both desk clerk and manager on duty were rather rude and not very understanding and certainly not very helpful. Other that, the room was excellent and it is a shame that this happened as i left me with very bad taste and I will probably not return or recommend your hotel.

Friendly staff and atmosphere. Strange bathroom layout in standard room. Not possible to close toilet door for privacy, big distance between glass door and walls as per design. No lamp in the shower, very dark. Bedtime reading for one person not possible.

Nice hotel that has great access to some gems to visit in Lisbon. The staff is superior and knowledge about the areas. Unfortunately they could not provide us late check out but they were able to hold our bags. They do offer parking at 18 euros per day. The breakfast if paid per day is 20 euros per person but it is excellent. They provide typical fair plus a few local pasteries. Champagne and juice is included and they serve until 10 am I beleive.

We stayed here for 7 days. An excellent hotel in a great location. The staff were so helpful, polite and professional. Our room was lovely and spotless. We used the rooftop deck and indoor pool and both were great just what was needed after long days sightseeing. Fantastic choice at breakfast. We had dinner in the restaurant and the service, food and wine excellent. Highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. You're a walk away from everything! The staff was very attentive and polite. The rooftop lounge is a breathe of fresh air and relaxing. The server there is super nice and helpful. I would recommend staying here for sure.

This five-star hotel, close to the shopping mecca of the Avenida da Liberdade, has one thing that makes its rooftop stand out: a Jacuzzi. It's a cosy wooden-decked space that is ideal for sunworshipping during the day and for unwinding after a day's exploration. Bear in mind it doesn't stay open that late (till 10pm in summer and 6pm in winter), so factor it into your plans for those times when only a soak in some bubbles (cocktail in hand) will do.

Cannot speak for the rest of the hotel, only for the spa facilities. As far as sap's goes, portobay fulfills all the important points: it has a sauna, turk bath , indoor swimming pool and ofcourse, a massage service. However the space is quite small and the massages were not up to a 5 star hotel expectation, although they were quite relaxing.

This is a fantastic hotel with excellent staff who went out of their way to make our stay very special. On our arrival we were met by Tiago and Daniel. Both are smart and made us feel welcome and helped us settle into reception - this theme continued for the rest of our week where we were met by these kind gentlemen on a daily basis. This welcome was continued at reception by Diana and Daniel who advised us of some great restaurants and booked our taxis. Their recommendations were spot on every time. The breakfast team are headed by Adriana Ribeiro who is an expert in her job. We were greeted with a smile every morning and Adriana ensured all our requirements were met. She even advised us of an excellent cafe in Sintra and wrote down the name of the cake and coffee we should try. Her recommendations were fantastic. All I can say is that the team at PortoBay are all great professionals and for us it has been a great trip. Thank you to all the team at PortoBay. Mohammed and Caroline.

This is truly a five star hotel. Everything was perfect. Professional & highly attentive staff, very good food & drinks, the rooms are wonderful and the beds are incredibly cozy. I recommend to visit the spa after a long day in Lisbon. Just wow.

Bereits letztes mal geschrieben, Türschliesser installieren die, die Türe ruhig ins Schloss ziehen und nicht die Türe zu Bällen lässt , man steht fast im Bett.Im Stock 5 dürfte im Zimmer auch jeden Tag gesaugt werden. Danke.

Avery comfortable and enjoyable stay. The room was well appointed with an enormous bed. breakfast was good and the Bistro served outstanding food at a very reasonable cost. The wine was expensive but this is a 5 star hotel. The stay were friendly, courteous and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

En härlig vecka i en vacker och vänlig stad stad. Hotellet centralt läge vid av. Liberdade ca 15 minuters promenad från gamla stan och floden havets kustlinje. Vacker byggnad med karaktär och samtidigt helt modernt, skönt med tillgång till spa faciliteter och varm inomhuspool utan extra kostnader. Överflödande frukost med varmt, färska frukter och portugisiska sötsaker. Tillmötesgående och i alla sammanhang mycket vänlig och hjälpsam personal.

The hotel is clean and modern. The rooms are fully equipped, if a little bit on the smaller side. The staff are all very professional and polite. The gym and sauna facilities are a bonus.

Enjoyed our stay. Liked having an “in hotel “restaurant and bar. The conceierge (Barbara) was excellent because she could assist in all areas- transportation, restaurant advice, and directions and always w/ a smile. Thanks to the hotel for the surprise cake and champagne for my husbands birthday. The spa area was clean, well stocked, a perfect place to unwind in city center.

Bien situé si votre but est d’acheter des produits de marque mais si vous souhaitez aller au centre vivant de Lisbonne, c’est 20 minutes à pied. L’endroit est très calme , le personnel accueillant. Garage à disposition pour 18 euros par jour.

The check-in service was mediocre. The room failed in a lot of facilities details. My review isn't worst because the morning staff were really gentle and the bed comfort was supperb. Also to highlight that the Guest relationships team (prior check-in) were trustworthy and delivered exactly what I did request. Overall, if it was a 4 star hotel, I'd love it.

ZimmerZimmer sind klein, auf den Fotos sehen diese grösser aus. Leider knallen die Türen zu (fehlt ein Türschliesser!!!!!!!!!!!!!) man steht fast im Bett wen der Nachbar nach Hause kommt oder am Morgen früh losgeht.Fitnessraumim Fitnessraum steht nur ein Velo ohne jegliche Infos ( Zeitmessung , Puls usw) zur Verfügung.

Excellent hôtel ! L’accueil y est très agréable et on apporte tout le soin qu’il faut aux clients. Le personnel n’est pas coincé et s’amuse avec vous. Les chambres sont suffisamment spacieuses et bien équipées.
Le spa et la piscine sont très agréable pour se reposer en fin de journée.
Leger bémol il fait un peu chaud à l’intérieur en hiver, on est obligé d’ouvrir la fenêtre pour avoir une température confortable.

Sehr schönes Hotel, mit netten englischsprachigen Mitarbeitern, leckerem Frühstück mit großer Auswahl, schönem Spa Bereich mit Sauna und Pool und gemütlichen sauberen Zimmern. Das Hotel liegt allerdings in einer der teuersten Ecken in Lissabon ergo sind keine Supermärkte in Gehweite.

Great central location with a short walk to the Avenida and a good breakfast buffet. Swimming pool and fitness centre in the lower ground floor and a jacuzzi on the top floor. Decent restaurant with very friendly staff. Clean hotel with a huge bed.

Très bon emplacement,le centre n.est pas très loin, la chambre est propre la literie est bonne et les attentions (café, bouteille deau) sont appréciés. Le personnel est très sympas ils nous renseignent bien sur tout ce quil y a faire de plus ils parlent bien le français. La piscine,le spa le jacusi sont un vrai plus ,surtout après avoir parcouru la ville à pied, un vrai moment de détente.

Buenísimo servicio. Habitaciones limpias, modernas y muy acogedoras. Camas increíblemente cómodas. La única pega es el baño, que es con puerta de cristal (llámame antigua pero prefiero que mis reuniones con el Sr. Roca sean confidenciales). Desayuno delicioso, detallista, muy atento.
Imprescindible subir a la azotea a tomarse un lingotazo.
Zona preciosa y tranquila (mezcla de zona Castellana con barrio Salamanca de Madrid).

Je m'y suis rendu en fin d'après midi pour profiter du rooftop. La vue n'est pas exceptionnelle mais reste très agréable. Les cocktails sont très bien préparés pour un prix raisonnable compris entre 8 et 12 euros. Le personnel est vraiment souriant, serviable et efficace. On y passe forcement un bon moment. Le bar du rez-de-chaussée dans une ambiance aviateur est vaste et trés bien aménagé et dispose d'une petite terrasse qui donne sur la rue. Une très belle découverte.

Schönes Hotel, moderne saubere Zimmer, freundliches Personal. Das Frühstück ist auch gut. Der Pool Bereich im Untergeschoss ist auch sauber. Ich würde hier nochmal übernachten. Eine klare Weiterempfehlung.

I had dinner at the Bistro4 located in the Hotel PortoBay Liberdade. It was a surprisingly good restaurant serving traditional Portuguese cuisine. I ordered limpets in a skillet & bolo do caco flat bread with garlic butter which was very tasty. The DOP cheese and the foie gras were fabulous and the traditional Portuguese codfish was delicious. The vegetarian ravioli was on the salty side but was still very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Upon arrival I was impressed with the design of the hotel. The staff was courteous and polite. If you need something they are willing to help, but the level of customer care is inconsistent. The rooms have the basic amenities, are well-lit and styled, and feature a high-end coffee maker. My favorite part of the room is the memory foam bed, which is very comfortable and has excellent support. I wish there was a towel warmer. Beware that some rooms do not have a bath tub and those with a shower have a small partition that barely prevents the shower water from over-flowing - a design flaw. As a single person my room was spacious...you might want to consider upgrading to a larger room if you're traveling in twos. I would recommend this hotel and look forward to returning. I advise that you request a room above the third floor and ask a lot of questions about the room before booking. Good luck and enjoy beautiful Lisboa!

We had a fantastic experience at Portobay Liberdade. The interior was beautifully decorated, staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean and spacious. Not to mention the great rooftop bar with relaxing area and jacuzzi. Dining at the restaurant is a MUST.

Nice rooms, nice indoor pool in basement level, but has windows and access to outside sunbeds, though sun is not likely, roof top with jacuzzi, but 2016 has a construction site right across the street, so not nice to stay at the roof top. Has inside and outside seating in restaurant (same apply for breakfast). Breakfast is good, restaurant only average.

Hotel was really clean and modern. Nice bar inside the front lobby and a porch area outside to sit out in the fair weather. Very beautiful and spacious room. Bed, bath and sitting area were nice sizes. Bathroom was exceptional, great big shower, tub, 2 sink areas, separate toilet section. Towels, robes and toilet articles were awesome. We didnt have time to use the pool and spa or the rooftop with the hot tub but saw other guests enjoying the amenities. There is a large construction project underway across the street but it wasnt noisy when we were there. The hotel is located right on the major shopping street Liberdade. Lots of stores, bars, and restaurants in walking distance. No need for a car,

I enjoyed the hotel a lot. Staff, interior design, location matched my expectation. One watch-out: the service in the bar is fine but the price of the drinks is (too?) high. So, make sure to check before you order in order to avoid a sad surprise.

Leider im Moment eine Baustelle gegenüber vom Hotel. Ab 08.00 bis 19.00 ist man lautem Baulärm ausgesetzt. Das Hotel ist sonst super und neu!Gemäss Reception geht die Baustelle bis nächsten Frühling 2016.

Cet hôtel très agréable a ouvert depuis peu et tout est mis en œuvre pour que lon sy sente bien. La terrasse sur le toit avec Jacuzzi est appréciable ainsi que le SPA.Le personnel est au petit soin. pas davis concernant les petits déjeuners, le prix étant un peu élevé (20 euros par personne).

I am 54 yrs old and during the last 10 yrs have stayed in many 5* hotels (business and pleasure). This hotel was just great. Quite small and not excessively luxurious, but so clean and the modern decor just right. The staff exceptionally friendly and helpful! I thought the price was excellent too. I am a straightforward guy and can be very critical, but we thought this hotel was excellent.
