This has to be one of the best meals I have ever had in my life and I'm not exaggerating. The long wait is totally worth it. I would go to Lisbon just to have this chicken. 100% a MUST visit when in the city.

Muy buena atención. Comimos ensalada de pasta y carnes variadas. La ensalada estaba riquísima y las carnes de buena calidad y muy bien hechas. Lugar barato y recomendable.

Frustratingly run operation, delicious chicken. Came strictly for chicken on a Sunday and seeing she opens at 1800 we arrived ~1830 and already busy. But worth the wait.

A classic restaurant for Braised Chicken in Lisbon. It is well known by local and an Institution in the city. Lunch menu is 4€, very cheap!!! Plus their chicken with Peri Peri sauce is without any doubt the best in Lisbon.

Went there as it was recommended by a friend, but was served after waiting in line for 2 hrs
The women serving was sexist, ignored all women clients and ready to pick up a fight at slightest excuse.
The chicken was drab, dry and not worth the wait.
Never had such hyped up chicken ever
Don’t visit if you want to have food in good mood.

Enjoyed the fresh grilled chicken and ribs and tomato salad. Worth a visit if you’re in the neighborhood. Be patient and expect to stand and wait for your order from the friendly and fun cooking staff as they cook and banter with the customers.

老板娘很忙，忙到记不住你和她点了什么，一直要问，所以会看起来态度很不好但是她非常尽力了.
备单速度很慢，人多的话需要等不少时间.

The Chef and the employee are great and super funny. Me and my Friends had a lot of fun. The Food is very delicious and we enjoed it in the park near by. Quality and price are greate! Thank you Sonja. (Bodyguard :-)

Worth It, just be prepared to wait...a long time. The queue was up to the entrance and we waited about an hour to get to order.
This place has great charcoal cooked piri piri chicken, pork ribs and sausages. The price is amazing and the food is fresh off the grill.
Note: get here early as this restaurant closes when they sell out/ or had enough

Food was absolutely delicious. The mista #1 came with plenty of food for two of us even after a long day trekking around Sintra. It came with 1/2 chicken, 4 ribs and a sausage. We ordered rice and salad on the side and had a cold Sagres to wash it all down. The chicken was juicy and well season with a hint of spice and just the right amount of salt. The ribs were incredibly and marinated in the same or similar sauce they used for the chicken. The sausage was good but can be skipped if you're looking for just the top elements they serve. The rice was cooked with garlic so had a nice flavor to it as well.
Recommend coming right when it opens if you plan to eat in. Space is only big enough for about 6 people total so most get takeaway. Be sure to get plenty of napkins as you'll be eating some with your hands to ensure you get all the meat!

Definitely a memorable meal for me, the chicken was incredible however we waited in line for 2 hours. This place has so much potential but is extremely disorganised (although I found a lot of places in Portugal disorganised so I don’t know if this is the norm)

Nice place with great chicken and good sides of rice, chips, olives and tomato salad. They have vegan options and checp lunch menu (4€). It's small ans gets crowded so it could be a bit slow. You can eat it in a nice park next to it.

One of the best grilled chicken in lisbon, there only a few sits available, most of the people buy it to take away. Ask for disposable cutleries
Be aware that sometimes you will need to wait at least 30 minutes or more!

On sait pourquoi il y a beaucoup d'attente... Le poulet est excellent, le riz basmati à tomber. La patronne est d'une gentillesse extreme et elle lorsque la file d'attente est trop longue, elle n'hésite pas à ouvrir u'e bouteille de bière, fournir en chips maison et olives l'ensemble des personnes qui attendent. N'hésitez pas à commander et à repasser plus tard.

My husband said this was the best meal while we were in Portugal. Looses a start for the VERY long wait. If you're going to be mostly a take out place, you have to find a way to be quickly with your service.

DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE WAIT! It wasn’t that great. The only thing memorable was the long wait. My first sign that it probably wasn’t that great is that there were no locals in line. I waited two hours and got mediocre chicken. I ordered ribs and sides but when I finally got up to pay all that was available was chicken. They asked if I wanted spicy and I said yes. There was zero spice on the chicken. The chicken was a little dry and the flavor was okay. I don’t know why this place is popular. A definite tourist trap. There are way better places for chicken without a wait.

If you're looking for delicious grilled meats then this is where you want to be in Lisbon. The wait can be long depending on the queue but... You will be getting freshly grilled food and can enjoy beers or other refreshments outside and talk with fellow customers. As the place is small, walk out with your food, turn right, then left and then right on the main road and you go straight to a drink kiosk they will let you eat at tables and serve you cold drinks. Perfect for warm nights.

Great smell but thats about it. Expect having a 2 hour wait and high chance of getting turned down due to no food available. Happened twice. Definitely a tourist trap. They take away something you can never get back… your time.

Это место трудно найти, легко потерять, но невозможно забыть! Кухня непревзойденная, все вкусно, особенно подойдет любителям мяса! Но есть и вегетарианское меню, тоже очень вкусно! Время работы: СР - СБ, 12 - 15 и 18 - 20, не перепутайте. ПН, ВТ ВЫХОДНЫЕ. Хозяйка, она же повар, хоть и женщина, но настоящий джентльмен и даст фору любому мужчине в обращении с мясом на гриле. Цены демократичные, вниз по улице милый парк где можно всю эту вкусноту утоптать. Очень рекомендую!

Come early or it's very long wait. The piri chicken was ok. Ribs were kinda dry. Sausages were average. Wait was not really worth it. But the chef was staff was very nice.

The food was very good. The chef was very nice and it may have just been bad luck the day we went because they were under staffed by 2 people leaving only the chef. She had to ask someone who doesnt work at the restaurant to go there and help her because it was so busy. I felt bad for her! She was really trying to get everyone their orders and eventually she did. We waited 2 hours for our food. It may not always be like this though and I believe this place is now a lot busied after the Eaters vlog/video on YouTube.
Also the shop is small so expect to walk to a park or find somewhere to eat. There is a small table inside but if there is a line up it's hard to sit there. People in line were sitting on the chairs while waiting and the other table was blocked by the line.

Perfectly grilled chicken and sausage. Very popular so be prepared the line up, and easiest to do take away as there are only a couple of small tables inside. Worth the wait though as the flavor is incredible!

Kip was wel lekker, maar voor de rest niets speciaals. Het is een klein plekje, waar voornamelijk afgehaald wordt. Er is alleen zitplek voor 4 man in totaal.
De eigenaresse(?) was totaal niet vriendelijk naar ons toe. Bij binnenkomst werden we niet gezien, en pas na 5 minuten kwam ze naar de kassa toe om ons te helpen. Ze liep van ons weg voordat we onze bestelling hadden afgerond en was totaal niet geïnteresseerd. Bij de lokale mensen deed ze daarentegen wel heel vriendelijk. Jammer.

7 euros for 4 ribs, half the chicken and a sausage. Meat is well marinated but you Weill need to wait, even if you’re the first one there!! I was the first there when it opened at 12 and still waited for 30 mins!

蒜味飯很好吃，入味，稍微油，可拌麵包吃，碳烤烤雞跟肋排吃起來不柴，鮮嫩多汁，室內空間不大，大概只有二桌，我們是外帶回飯店享用，收銀櫃臺的女服務生很熱情，會跟客人聊天寒暄，作業不快，多數需要排隊，流程大概就是：排隊，排到櫃臺時才點餐。點完餐可在走道外等取餐，二位工作人員，一位烤、一位收銀打包，需要有排隊準備。只收現金。

Worst Attitude and Longest Waiting Time. We arrived at the store at 6:00pm (the opening time) and waited for TWO HOURS. The staff was SO RUDE to all Asian customers. Will never recommend it to tourists who wish to have dinner in a good mood

If you want a legit churrasqueira experience this is the place. The chicken was spot on. We also got a side salad, rice, and espetada. All very good and very affordable. Not a lot of seating or parking outside so anticipate a wait, it's worth it. Also, they only take cash. Highly recommend!

I have literally waited almost 2 hours for them to take my order. The waitress or whatever her job is, is the rudest person I have encountered during my stay in Portugal. They will have 7 chickens ready and it will take them at least another 45 minutes to serve another client. She will answer the phone, walk around and do anything else beside serving you.
The chicken is not even that life-changing.
Just go anywhere else, the disrespect you get here isn't worth that chicken.

Led here by that Eater episode on YouTube about Portugal. Not as tasty as I'd expected but still really good. Chicken was tender, and smokey. Rice was buttery and fluffy. Chips were very crunchy and just the right amount of salty. Salad, which was just really tomatoes and olive oil, was meh.
Also, just to give you a clearer expectation about waiting time, I was the first in line, getting there about 30 minutes before it opened. By the time I left with my order a little over an hour later, more than a dozen people were waiting inside the tiny room with most of them still waiting for their order to be taken. Small operation, but the food is (mostly) with the wait.

Tourist trap. My rare 1 star review. The service is SO SLOW....45 min for 1 customer...and all they have is grilled chicken to go and 6-7 already cooked. I waited 45 min in line with line of tourists, a few local walked in speaking some portugese and walked away with their food.

This was the best chicken I’ve had with the garlic basmati rice. The sausage and ribs were great, too! It’s a tiny place with a tiny sign that’s easy to miss. However beware of the very slow service. It’s definitely the most inefficient operation I’ve ever come across. But I’m still giving it 5 stars as the food is just amazing!

Some of the best grilled chicken you will find anywhere! Great flavor and the sauce that comes with it is like crack. Basmati rice and tomato salad side are a must. All of this served by some of the loveliest people in Lisbon. Much easier as take out but there are a few tables where you can eat if you cannot wait to get it home.

We were served terribly dry chicken. My wife and I ended up at the restaurant just a bit early for dinner, and waited outside while they set up and started cooking. I saw the chef prep the grill and put on ~6 raw chickens, and 3 that were already cooked (presumably what wasn't sold during lunch). As one of the unlucky first people in like we ended up with one of the reheated chickens. It was a massive disappointment.

Best hands down chicken! It was so delicious we couldn’t believe what we were tasting! The lady was sososo kind, funny and friendly! Forget about bbq sauce drenched tasteless ribs and chickens... here they do them very well and bring the natural flavor out. The sauce (spicy, but not spicy) is to die for! For two, we ordered 1/2 chicken and 6 ribs. Should’ve ordered double the amount!

This is not a review on the food, but rather information on Google. We were in Lisbon for only two days, and did not go on Monday night since it said it was closed. We went there last Tuesday and were met by what we assume is the owner and were told that it was closed, when clearly the schedule on google showed that it was open. So we did not get a chance to try the food on either day we were there. I would suggest more clarity on days and times opened/closed.

Outstanding piri piri chicken. Try out the blood sausage as well! Tomato salad is a great way to complement the richness if the meat. Affordably priced (7 euros per person for a very decent selection), but gets crowded closer to dinner time and they don't have much staff so it takes a bit of time to get your food.
Also it's mainly a takeaway place, so it only has 2 tables.

One of the best if not THE best meal we had in Lisbon. We loved everything about this restaurant. It’s a small spot with only enough seating for six people at most between two tables, so get there early!

If you are third in the queue you can expect to wait up to an hour for your food. Highly disorganised... If you are a tourist the locals will get preference over you.
You can get the same Piri Piri Chicken anywhere in Lisbon.

When I arrived, the restaurant was already open, but the were still busy preparing the food.In the end it took almost 40 minutes since entering the restaurant before I got my food. However, it was worth the wait! Nice and tender ribs, delicious rice and good chips. Found it weird for a take-out restaurant to pay 2,50 for a plastic knife and fork.

Really good chicken. Don't know why but we were the only one in the restaurant and it took them quite a while to serve. But chicken is good and there is no complaint there. Be advised that this a take out joint and it sits 3 people in one corner and 3 near entrance. There is not much room to move in the restaurant. If you want to go to cash counter and someone is in front of you, you will have to back out to let the person come out before you can approach the counter. This is with 2 people. If there are are 6 people there, enjoy people rubbing against you. Good luck. But good food if you want takeout.

所以你是耳朵有问题还是没问题关我屁事 凭什么排我后面的人就因为你听到了 他们的订单就有效 那还排什么队 直接冲着你耳朵喊 听到谁的谁就成功下单不就好了
而且你自己承认知道我也看见我了 所以你是个哑巴不是 没有不会早说 距离下单到最后告诉我没有点任何东西至少一个多小时 非要等到店关门 把东西留给我后面两个人了才告诉我

Just Brilliant - yes you have to wait in line, but the wait is justified with the food you are served with, the smell of grilled meat will keep you hooked to reach your turn while you stand in line, Sonia the girl who takes your order is the person Running the show, she orchestrates your order with ease, if i go back to lid on this will be my first stop.

Muy recomendable. La carne, perfectamente especiada y súper jugosa. Pedimos una mista 1 y una mista 2, que viene a ser un pollo entero, 13 costillas, y 4 salchichas. Además, unas patatas grandes (muy crujientes y con especias) y bebidas, y pagamos 29 €, con lo que comimos bien 5 personas. Por cierto, el picante está delicioso, tiene un toque de pimientos asados, y va muy bien con la carne.

BBQ chicken is to die for here, the people here are so welcoming and accommodating. The gentleman at the grill saw me struggling trying to read the menu in Portuguese and handed me one in English. I requested a small amount of chicken since it's only myself and he also helped me out there. It is charged by weight.
Basmati rice is garlic flavoured and it's perfect with the chicken. They also have homemade chips, tomato salad and olives. Orders take away and brought mine to the hotel. Wonderful food! And I was surprised at how much it came to in the end. Great value, and I don't know what they put in their sauce but it is just amazing! Brushed on the chicken in the end.
They don't have credit cards, cash only. But that's okay... bring cash.

What can I say that already hasn't been said. This is simply the best chicken in town! Very small place, could be difficult to locate the resturant. We took a 40 minute walk to get to this place every second was worth it. Also the walk was through most beautiful paths.
Tip 1: You might not get a seat as there is only 2 tables seating 2 on each. And at times this resturant can have a long queue, be prepared to do a takeaway. Take back to your place or go to a park. Its definitly worth the trouble.
Tip 2: MUST GET CHICKEN! Chicken is the most delicious meat they have although sausage and ribs are tasty too. This will be THE BEST CHICKEN you will taste!
Tip 3: MUST GET RICE! It's unlike any other rice. Garlic flavour and so yummy!!
Tip 4: You will need cash, unfortunately this place don't take card so remember to take some cash with you. Prices are really cheap here so order everything you wanna try!

We walked all the way from Belem to this place. It was absolutely delicious and I'm so glad it was worth the 2 hour walk. Flavours or BBQ and garlic and other spices. Tender chicken, tasty sausages and ribs. Great flavoured rice, salad and chips. Very good value for money.

Quite small, just two tiny tables, so mostly take away. But the food is really delicious. Just a fair warning: the mista is just meat. With a side (I recommend the freshly made delicuous potato chips), there's more than enough food for one.
And be prepared for a little waiting time if there are others before you.

Of the 5 days I spent in Portugal, I can say that this is easily the #1 meal I've had, both in terms of taste and value.
The service might be a little slow, and there will be a queue, but it's all worth it. I came out of the store smelling like grilled chicken but it's all worth it.
I ordered Mista 1, which includes half chicken, 1 sausage and 3 ribs and one portion of rice. Sausage is average, ribs are a bit better but boy oh boy, the chickens here are to die for. The rice is very delicious as well especially when you pair it with the sauces from the chicken.

This place is absolutely amazing. The staff are so lovely and the food is hands down, something I will come to crave when I'm back home and be sad that it's so far away. My personal favourite is the chicken, the sausages and the couscous (even more droolworthy when you pour the chicken sauce over it). Also, this place is really designed more for take-away so there is very limited seating. There are only 2 small tables up against the wall, and at best can maybe squeeze 5 people in for a sit down meal (though realistically, 4 is more comfy). If you want a seat, get in early, or be prepared to wait (it's worth it). Oh the it's really good value too.

I had found this place online and had decided to try it out due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews, however the lovely smell of the food emanating onto the street before arrival was enough to convince me of my decision. The wait time was slightly longer than I would've hoped for but once I had taken the first bite of my food I instantly understood why that wasn't a problem at all for many people, myself included. The half chicken with rice I had ordered was simply sensational. The rice was flavoured to perfection and then the chicken, so succulent, seasoned down to the bone. Even the few spoons of couscous I sampled from my partner's order blew me away. I would say this is a must try if you are ever in the area and want to try nice authentic Portuguese food.

Super repas à emporter pour 18 € pour 2 adultes et 2 enfants en bonne quantité, nous avons adoré les grillades qui étaient succulentes dans le menu N°2
Les chips maison étaient excellentes mais aussi le riz basmati.
Le personnel très sympathique et il parle un peu français.
Seul petit bémol un peu trop de fumée car l'endroit est très petit.
Petit conseil y aller de bonne heure ( 19h ) car après nous beaucoup de monde

Infelizmente perdeu qualidade no atendimento, e também no frango, com a saída do Sr. Luís. Atendimento diferenciado entre turistas e locais.
Unfortunately lost much of it's quality after Sr. Luís leaving the place. The customer service/experience was excellent, such as the food. Now only turists are well served, no attention to locals. Sadly it is not a good place to visit nowadays.

The chicken is top notch. We went right at 1800 so our chicken was as fresh as it gets. As we waited they brought us some homemade chips to snack on.
We had a full chicken, 1 blood sausage tomato salad, chips, and a coke for €15.40. Can't beat that price.
Service was wonderful. The chicken, marinade and peri peri was sooo delicious.
Highly recommened. Wish we found this place sooner as we would have returned.

I don’t usually post reviews on Google but this place was one of THE best meals I’ve had in Portugal, in terms of food and service. Sonja (the owner) was personable, funny, and lovely and the food was perfect. Best Portuguese chicken I’ve tasted in Portugal - tender, flavoursome and the perfect amount of spice. The ribs and sausages were incredible! The rice is as good as the reviews say. Simple, tasty, Portuguese food without the fuss and super affordable (we paid 9 euros each for food and drink)! I’ve run out of adjectives, I cannot recommend this place enough!!!!

좋아요! 세트 메뉴 2번 (소세지 2!, 립, 치킨 반마리) 에 토마토 샐러드랑 밥 추가해서 먹었는데 굿 20유로 안쪽으로 두명이서 배부르게 먹었어요 소세지는 좀 짠편이고 치킨과 립은 간이 맞았어요 기름지다고 생각될때 발사믹 섞은 토마토 먹으면 기름진게 좀 내려가는 기분 상쾌해져버렷! 테이크 아웃 전문점이고 테이블은 두개 밖에 없어서 사람이 많을 땐 앉아서 먹기 힘들 수도 있어요 밤에 갔는데 밤길은 살짝 위험한 것 같기도.. 공원쪽이 좀 무서웠어요 아 스파이스 소스 달라고 하면 주는데 찍어먹어도 맛있어요

Nice little hole in the wall place with a range of meat dishes. There are only 2 tables for dining in, so be prepared to order takeaway if people are already eating inside. The staff were lovely with a good sense of humour and the piri piri chicken was great. I also spotted a vegan menu.

Le meilleur endroit de Lisbonne pour manger copieux, bon et pas cher. Un passage indispensable, le meilleur poulet de la ville. Attention, il y a souvent un peu d'attente et il n'est pas possible de manger sur place. Néanmoins un petit parc est accessible pas très loin pour cela. Les patrons sont super accueillant et parlent quelques mots de français au cas où, anglais impeccable pour le reste.

Lady boss was very friendly and hospitable. Really enjoyed this simple but delicious peri peri chicken. My bill comes to less than 5 euro. Highly recommended. Limited seating, so not suitable for big group. Most come and order for take out :)

Great food, and probably the best chicken I had in Lisbon. We ordered pretty much everything on the menu, and the chicken + rice were the highlights. Staff is super accommodating, my friend has a little one and they separated the meats, one spicy and other non-spicy and warmed up the drinking water as it was too cold. I would highly highly recommend this place, and will be back when I’m in Lisbon next.

This is a little hole in the wall place. There is only seating for 4 people in tables of two. We got half a chicken, one sausage and four ribs with potato chips and a small tomato salad. All of this came to 10.50 Euros. The chicken was moist,juicy and delicious with the right amount of spice. The same spicy oil is poured on all the meat. The potato chips were fresh, warm, crispy and were seasoned with salt and oregano. The tomato salad was so fresh, sweet and refreshing. Go to this place! You will not be disappointed!

Best chicken I have ever eaten! It was very hard not to go there every day I was in a lisbon. We ended up going there twice and it was worth it.
Besides the fantastic food, I as very impressed with the service / way they manage the place and work with the customers. Very smoothly, no stress and not pushing everything on the menu (on the contrary - for the first time, a restaurant suggested me to downsize my order... and they were right).
Highly recommend a visit and looking forward to go there again.

Hole in the wall place with a line of hungry patrons. By now you know that means amazing food is served here. And if that wasn't a good enough reason, the smell coming from this place is sublime. If you are in Lisbon, do yourself a service and walk/drive/taxi here, order a mix plate of meats (1/2 chicken, 6 ribs, 3 sausages) with rice, tomato salad, and chips. Lastly, make sure you use all that chicken oil fused with garlic on your rice. The chicken is juicy and tender, the ribs have a nice bite yet moist, the sausage has an amazing snap with tons of flavor. I kid you not, as you eat the food you start to question reality as everything is so tender and delicious. HOW?! I don't care anymore just gimme more.

You’ll easily walk past this smokey hole in the wall - DON’T. It’s freaking amazing. The chicken is so tender and flavourful, the rice is out of this world. I went back for more tomato salad and then got some more to take home. The sausages are great, the ribs a little salty but nothing a beer won’t help with. Locals line up for the chicken here, tourists are flocking in. It’s a take out joint but there’s three tables for two that can be snagged. Or grab and go to a nearby park, either way - get some food. The prices are also ludicrous. Skip the time out market and eat here. One of the best meat meals we’ve had in Portugal. You won’t be disappointed.

I'll preface this by saying the chicken was delicious, however, the service was appalling. We were the only people in the restaurant and watched our food get cold behind the counter for at least 10 minutes while the server talked on the phone and wiped down tables. We ordered a beer which never arrived because she got distracted by her friends that walked in. Stood at the register trying to pay foreverrrrrr as she continued to serve her friends. I don't see complaints about the service in other reviews so I'm assuming this girl doesn't normally serve.... But yeah, painfully slow service, but chicken was great in the end.

The best chicken I've ever had, amazing tomato salad, ribs solid, sausage ok. Slowest service ever though, even if only you and nobody in store, the food will be done, but won't make it to your table until it's getting a little cold. Unsure if it was a one off but everybody this day had the issue. Great prices, definitely recommend just don't be in a hurry

The rice is so good! It's cooked with chicken fat and tasted reminiscent of Hainanese Chicken Rice. The tomato salad is excellent. The chicken has a great barbecue flavour but was a little too salty. The spicy sauce is not spicy. The price is really good. The woman who you buy the food from is very friendly. Gets 5 stars because of the rice.

I went to Lisbon twice last year and ate here both times, it’s just that good! The chicken, ribs and sausages were the best!!! Get the platter with all the meats, you definitely won’t regret it! Pair it with the garlic rice, some chips and beer! Some patience is needed but I assure you, it’ll be worth every minute of wait! The place is ideally for take out but they have a couple of tables, good for two people each. I’m definitely returning to this place is and when I find myself in Lisbon, which I’m sure I will! My mouth is watering just thinking about the food here.

Het is een kleine knusse restaurantje met zo'n 8 zitplaatsen. Het is meestal afhaal. Ik heb van het gehoord van dit restaurant via de food blogger Mark Wiens. We hebben laat afgehaald en zijn gaan eten in het park stukje terug van deze restaurant. De eigenaresse is alleen aan het bereiden en doet alles alleen.
Ik had mista 2 besteld met 2 bijgerechten en een blikje cola en heer en kost samen maar € 16,20. Erg schappelijk voor zo'n lekker gril.
Echte aanrader als je van eenvoud houd.

Best food experience for my 3 day trip to Lisbon. I originally went there on a Tuesday and she told me she was closed. I told her that i will be back the next day and dont forget my face. I got here right when it opened and got to talk with the owner before it got busy. She was quite authentic and added to the overall experience. Prob the best ribs, sausage and chicken I had in a long time. Will definetly visit again if I ever make it back to Lisbon.

The owner should do herself a favour and hire some help. Only one lady doing everything on a saturday night. Restaurant was full of dirty dishes, long waiting line, lady was very unpolite. To start off my review, the cook is undeniably racist towards Asians (and possibly to other nationalities who aren't Europeans, going with the other reviews) and this is the first time I am ever writing a negative review for any establishment, so it has certainly left an impact on me. I would give this place zero stars if it were possible.
I made the arduous trek up the many stairs and hilly slopes to arrive at this eatery last Sunday at 9pm, as it had stated that it closes at 10pm. Upon arrival, I noticed that there were two middle aged men sitting by the tables next to the window, and 3 couples in line waiting for the food. As soon as the cook saw me, she started shouting at me very loudly that the place was closed. She repeated that 3 times in total, and ended with the line "there I said it 3 times!!", as though I were deaf or couldn't understand English (not that it would have been excusable anyway). It did seem from her tone as though she couldn't bear for me to even step into the place to look at the menu, as though I were a dirty stray animal she had to chase away. All this occured as I stood by the front entrance before I had even set a single step into the store or said a word. She didn't stop shooting me dirty looks until I finally stepped away from the entrance. As this was happening, the two middle aged men laughed and looked at me as though it were a comedy. Some person in line asked her if she had a long day. I heard her say something insulting about Chinese people to the customers (who were all Caucasian), aware I could hear everything. 5 minutes after this whole fiasco, a European man arrived and stepped into the store to order food. She initially told him that they were closed (very politely might I add), but then when he mentioned travelling all the way from overseas to eat there, she relented and said he could stay and she will cook him something. By that point, I decided to leave.
TLDR,: the cook is extremely hostile towards patrons of Asian origins, and overtly racist. I think it is important to be aware of that before visiting this store, especially if you appear to be from Asia. It doesn't matter which country you come from (as we look the same to people like her), as a Southeast Asian living in Europe, I am certainly not exempted from such treatment.
Perhaps if I was travelling in a group she would have kept herself in check due to safety in numbers. To add, I would like to see how she reacts to a tour group of Chinese nationals (or another Asian equivalent) entering her store. So while I would discourage single minority travellers from visiting her store as it would be easier for her to get away with this behaviour, it would be interesting if a huge group of us were to descend upon her store. It would probably be a lot easier for her to just put up a sign stating "Asians not welcome".

Fantastic! This was the best meal we had in Lisbon. The chicken has amazing flavor and paired with rice and mashed potatoes makes it unbeatable. I'm not exaggerating when I say this meal made my trip to Lisbon worth it. It was so good in out two and a half day trip we went back twice. We even stopped right before going to the airport because it was the last thing I wanted to remember from Portugal.
After taking to the owner there is a few things that English speakers should know.
She is the only person working there and it is a very stressful job. She does all the cooking and orders and sides by her self! Inorder to help her, know what you are going to order before you get there. Also she does understand English but it is a little bit harder so just try to make it as easy for her as possible. She is only one women. Also have change with you so that way you can pay exact so it is easy for her to get back to work. I have written the part of the menu I recommend here.
1. Main meat
You can get a whole (~£8)or a half chick. There is also a few other options including ribs but I would go for the whole chicken everytime.
2. Sides
There are two sizes for the sides large ~£1.70 box or small box ~£1.30
The owner offer a few different sides including mash potatoes and garlic flavored rice. These in my opinion are the absolute best but I'm sure the others are great too.
Total your meal with two sides will be ~£15 and have enough food to feed two to three people.
Over all a great experience and I will be going back next time I'm in Lisbon!

Хозяйка заведения, конечно не церемонится, не обхаживает тебя от и до, ну это и понятно, она там одна на всех. Нам повезло, что мы пришли к открытию и взяли себе столик на улице, а так мест там очень мало и многие просто берут еду с собой. Чтобы оплатить тоже пришлось подождать, но все равно, это заведение того стоило. Очень вкусно и душевно провели вечер!
А ещё цена-качество на высшем уровне! Она даже не брала чаевые. И весь ужин на двоих нам обошёлся в 17 , а в другом заведение мы потратили все 60. Разница есть. Это было закрыто и пришлось искать другое, а так бы мы бы ещё пришли сюда, уж очень вкусно!

Pire expérience dans un restaurant jamais vécue aujourd'hui pour le déjeuner ! Je suppose en lisant les commentaires que nous sommes tombés sur un jour ou la patronne était de mauvaise humeur. Accueil exécrable et le mot est faible, pas de réponse à notre bonjour puis une attitude plus que méprisante. Il n'y avait aucun autre client devant nous, donc pas de stress qui aurait pu expliquer son comportement. Le poulet était bon mais ne mérite PAS DU TOUT le déplacement. Travaillant également en cuisine, je ne suis pourtant vraiment pas exigeante... Très déçue !

I think they are closed a few more days than most other restaurants...but I finally made it here for lunch during opening hours.
The lunch menu is a killer deal at 4 euro. Quarter chicken (YUM) plus 2 sides (I chose potatoes and salad). It was all delicious. I didn't leave stuffed, but very satisfied. Will make this a regular stop for sure.

This was hands down the best restaurant that my partner and I went to during a visit to Lisbon, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who's in the area. It's a must.
This place can get very busy and only has 7 seats, so I recommend going near opening
My partner and I got half a chicken, 3 sausages, and 6 ribs, which were only 10.50 euros altogether. It's a steal and I don't know how this place stays in business.
The side dishes are really flavorful too. We had the tomato salad, the potato salad, and the rice, and would try more if we had the appetite and were more interested in vegetables.
The flavors are all wonderful. The meats come in a sauce that the chef told us to add to our rice and potatoes, and it really added to the meal. I wish I'd known sooner.
There's really only one main employee: the chef, who cooks, serves, handles dishes, and handles bills. I don't know how she does it. She's also super personable, and will make good conversation.
This was such a great experience that my partner and I went back a second time. The chef recognized us, and even gave us a complementary side dish.
I'll definitely be back if I go back to Lisbon one day.

We got some food here this evening for take out and honestly, this was the best food we had in Lisboa. All the meat is prepared on a charcoal grill, the taste is amazing and the meat is so tender. Even the side dishes (we had mashed potatoes and a salad with potatoes, broccoli and egg) were out of this world. It is a shame we didn’t discover it sooner, then we would have eaten here more often. Very cute and pittoreske, and you can definately taste the love in the food.

Amazing experience having a full chicken with my partner. Cooked to perfection on the barbecue,we asked for the spicy sauce but you may have normal sauce (they are both delicious). We had tomatoes and “mashed” potatoes and even these sides were absolutely scrumptious. Owner is very welcoming and no BS. A favorite in lisboa! Highly recommend。
They also do takeaway as the place is a little small so come early!

The food was AMAZING! There wasn’t space for a lot of people but you can always take the food away and eat at home. The owner was very welcoming (motherly!) and her couscous was probably the best one I’ve ever had. Mista 1 was a good choice as it has sausage, ribs, and 1/2 chicken!

After searching the internet for a place to eat chicken peri peri I stumbled upon this restaurant. Since many people said to go early due to the minimal seating we did just that. The restaurant itself is tiny. Maybe 6 people at the most are able to be seated. However the majority of the people came for take aways. The menu is small but has everything you can ask for. We ordered a mixed meat platter and were definitely not disappointed. All the meats came straight from the braai and were afterwards drizzled with the peri peri sauce. The fries were a bit strange. We received chips in abrown paper bag. But they were also tasty. The atmosphere was very homelike. The chef cook was pleasant and interacted with each of the guest bringing the food personally to each table and still preparing the take aways.
After eating here and trying other restaurants in comparison I must say this restaurant served the best chicken peri peri. I think at the end of the day everyone has there own

Grilled chicken is not juicy at all! ribs with spicy source is ok.
However, the lady has really bad attitude. She let the local to plug in the queue, local can even add anything as they want but tourists can only wait there.
Like other comment said, the lady is racist. YES SHE IS. She is so drama that she told she can not distinguish some group of Asia customers because they look similar, letting me feel awkward.
At last, we wait there 40 minutes and get 2 portion quite normal food. If you can stand waiting more than half hours and stand the attitude of the lady. Just go ahead.

My only advice:Get there early!!!!! It's mostly for take outs and sometimes it consists of one staff. The lady chef was super friendly and outgoing. Must tries are (1) obviously the chicken (2) the potato and (2) the tomato salad (topped with fresh herbs and balsamic vinegar). Perfect for sharing!

The most amazing chicken I have ever had- honestly! Thank you so much for having us. The women who runs this place is amazingly sweet and makes the most delicious food! Truly one of the worst foodie experiences I’ve had. Staff are extremely rude which we were happy to ignore for amazing food. Sadly the food was terrible. We were accused of stealing and asked if we were from London as if that made us thiefs.!? Told we weren’t allowed what we wanted and shown nothing but abuse. Payed €60 for chicken that was dry and tasteless. Ribs were dry. Rice bland. Sausage disgusting. The owner has no idea how to run a business. If you honestly think this chicken is great you should try a place called kfc. It will blow your mind in comparison.

First of all, the food is without a doubt: DELICIOUS! Our favorite ones were grilled chicken and garlic rice.
Now some warm tips for a pleasant experience at this unique restaurant.
1. Make sure you know what you want to order before the owner takes your order.
2. Be aware that the owner might ask you several times what you ordered.
3. Be patient. This restaurant is a one woman's show (even though there are employees). It takes awhile until you can dig in the incredible food.

The chicken is not bad but not great. Not sure why everyone rates it so high. Maybe because the competition is Lisbon isn't that great? All I know is that the place is so inefficiently run. You have to wait a very long time for an order that could be done very quickly. The place needs more staff, it's not that hard to make it more efficient. Although I'm sure the lady is a sweet person, she can be quite rude and snappy. Honestly NOT worth the wait at all.

I seen this place has one of the highest ratings in Lisbon. Then I realized it is a takeaway food place.
Once you get here you realise why. The line is way outside. Lots of people waiting for their food. They look like addicts waiting to get their drug.
The quality of food is top class. Once you eat here you don’t want any other food.

Charcoal grill chicken with its own sauces is yummy . It is finger-licking good. The fresh salad , savoury rice and marinated toast pieces tasted good too. Kudos to the hardworking lady owner who manages it well in such a tiny place with limited seating.

Simply amazing. Take away from heaven. We were lucky to get a table (they have 2) but mainly take away.

I wish I didn’t love the chicken here so much. It’s the most inefficiently run restaurant. We waited almost an hour and it wasn’t even because the line was long. Everything was so good. A friend of ours even said “this is the best chicken I’ve ever had” and he’s always been a chicken kind of guy.

Yes, I gotta agree with all of the positive reviews here. The food is very good, full of flavour and worth waiting for. The lady who runs the place is a character, for sure, but she's really nice and just does things her own way, which is cool. It takes a bit of time to order and for food to be prepared. And there is a certain amount of uncertainty... this isn't KFC or Nando's. But put your trust in her and you will be rewarded with delicious authentic food.

Went for cheap pricing but the price seems to be coming out of poor service of personnel.
The rules of the place are confusing, they didn’t serve the plate, I have to pick it up myself. The change wasn’t given timely and the whole impression of the place was as if they wouldn’t give it at all. The main lady was neglectful and arrogant to my requests.
The lady is choosy with whom she is nice to - apparently she has her own patterns.
The assistant is more of a disaster - obvious hatred towards either all people or white women- not sure about her patterns, but she was always turning back to look at me with evil eye and cursing in Portuguese.
Overall experience is poor, one time visit

You can read mixed reviews and I guess your experience will depend on the owner's mood, if you speak Portuguese and if they like your face? I don't know for sure.
Some people said they're very friendly but that wasn't our experience. More like polite rudeness mixed with arrogance.
Food was not bad but not great either, don't expect to eat in, you'll need to take away. Oh, and it's cash only :/
You can try it if you're in the area and there's no line, otherwise, move on.

Amazing little place. We got a Mixto 1 (chicken, ribs, sausage) with rice (Arros) and chips (potatoes sliced thinly and deep fried to order) for ONLY 7€. Mini beers are .90. Everything was absolutely delicious and the company of the chef was incredible.

Best chicken I’ve ever had! This is one I will crave in years to come! There was no queues - at 7.30pm on a Friday night, end of September. Only one girl in front of me - who got very upset at the lady behind the counter for forgetting her order. Considering how there are two people doing everything (and doing it very well) this shouldn’t be something to be upset about! People need to understand cheesy customer service is not a priority here - and then get over it and enjoy the delicious chicken!!!!! The ladies were cooking away and were so sweet when I said I needed two forks for take away - they put it in a bag with plates and forks and paper towels - all ready for a picnic :) I’ll be coming back tomorrow.

Der Laden ist eher für Touristen, 7 Personen vor mir und noch 11 hinter mir (draußen waren noch welche auf die Straße) in die Schlange war 1er von die Nachbarschaft, die Übrigen sind alle Englisch sprechende Toursten. Von die Bestellung, das Hähnchen ist OK, aber das Ripchen war sehr trocken. Geschmack war nicht unbedingt besser als selbst im Garten gegrillte EDEKA Fleisch. Preislich ist der Laden relative Preiswert. Aber mit mehr als 1.5 Std. Wartezeit (für die 7 Bestellung vor mir) mit Zusehen von irgendwie unmöglich schleckt synkronisierte akrobatische Körperbewegung von the Captain jack sparrow in Lady form, und in der ganzen Zeit das Jammern und Meckern mit zu hören hat man einbisschen den appetit verloren.

It’s a great place. Everyone who reviews this sweet lady as being anything but wonderful didn’t get a chance to meet her. She’s friendly, talkative interesting, funny and nice. She’s just busy! She does it all! Cooks, cleans, orders, packages food. I loved the food. Spicy chicken and rice were my favorite. The place is charming, different and worth a trip. Please dont dont fall for this tourist trap. Its convenient for people in the area and/or on a tight budget. However its its already difficult to get to, up the steep slopes. The worst thing is that one single lady was grilling all the food, taking orders and cashing. Of course she is sweating like crazy so wiping her sweat with her hands all the time and taking cash and serving. The most annoying part was that only 8 groups were in front of us and it took 45 mins for us to move up by three groups before we just gave up because we did not want this affecting our vacation as we were hungry and wanted to actually have time to see the city. This is a take out spot by the way, only two tables. ,iIn concuclusionf you want to wait forever for a cheap meal rated highly by tourists (not locals), and don't have patience to wait for eternity, then go try the many other great places in the city. There are so many options just as cheap and maybe even tastier.

Food is very good. And the owner is a sweet lady. That said, this not a place to come for a quick service or predictability.
We got there 10 min before opening at 11:50am. The team was busy preparing for the opening. I don’t understand Portuguese at all, but what I gathered is that they were dealing with some equipment issue, and an oil spillage on the floor. We along with others could see that they were busily grilling food but they also wouldn’t serve us after 12pm. They seemed very overwhelmed, and there wasn’t even a long line of hangry customers so I can understand how some other reviewers had much less positive experiences.
After a rather long period of confusion, we eventually got to put our order in, which was one full chicken, small sides of garlic rice and tomato salad, and blood sausage (yea.. we ate A LOT). Since it was just us and a couple other take out customers, we were able to eat outside at the lone table on the street. I think we started eating close to 1pm. Food was very delicious and affordable (less than €15 for all the food we ordered). I really liked everything. And even though there was a language barrier, the owner was very sweet and attentive once we started eating. It added to the experience.
But this is not a place for a quick in and out operation.
There is a bathroom that’s well maintained.

Poulet grillé superbe! Les accompagnement on énormément de gout. Très généreusement servit. Un conseil, les place assises étant restreinte, prenez à l'emporter et poser vous dans le parc a 100m de là ou à votre appartement. L'attente peut être longue, si un groupe est avant vous, mais ça vaut la peine. Le côté froid de la chef dont certains parlent, n' est autre que le fait qu'elle est seul au service et fourno. Une personne l'aide pour les preparation et la vaisselle donc elle va droit au but.

All the meat is very juicy and tasty. The garlic rice is very flavourful almost like a paella. The price also can’t be beat. The owner of the place is lovely. You will have to wait in line, and come early because the place is so popular that she may run out of chicken or sauce. While you're waiting, enjoy the music and have a cold beer. The experience is what you make it, so enjoy the atmosphere while waiting in line. The chicken is incredible (as is the rice with garlic), but make sure you eat it right away. Even if you're planning to take it away, open it up as she serves it and have a bite right there. It's so much better right off the grill with the crispy skin than after it's been sitting in the takeout container.

Lined up around 5:45pm on Wednesday and ended up 2nd one being served. The chef already had all the meats going beautifully on the charcoal grill. I could see why her attitude can be toxic. She just opened the restaurant and was already sweating like crazy due to the smoke and heat. Cooking in such condition would make anyone grumpy. Please have all your orders sorted out clearly and she will serve you with a smile. My wife and I got the Misla 1 and 2 (combo 1 and 2) along with small side of garlic rice, tomato salad, and potato chips. They were all very outstanding but too much for us to finish (two meals worth). The amount is sufficient enough for a group of three or four.

Sadly this place could be so much more but the woman behind the counter is quite the personality. She's a though cookie and not friendly at all. I've eaten here a few years a go and came back this year for the meat but her lack of hospitality spoils everything.
An hour and a half before closing time she told us she was closed. After walking about 25 min specifically for this place, this not something your want to hear. We agreed we could come back on Sunday evening since she would be open until 10 o'clock.
On Sunday evening, around 7 o'clock we were there again. We came to the unpleasant discovery that she was on vacation and the store was closed. A detail she obviously could have mentioned when when we spoke to her about coming back on Sunday.
Major tip, around the corner there is amazing restaurant: Jamie's Italian. Saved our night both times and way more value for money.

Tiny joint with only 2 indoor tables and 1 outdoor. Hard to find as on a quiet residential street. One woman grilling and the other taking care of the kitchen. The chicken was amazing, ribs were fine , sausages meh. Pair the chicken with a nice salad and you are good to go ! Met a local who comes here all the time for his takeout. The other Canadians and Auusies who came here enjoyed it as well and even came twice lol.

WARNING: The lady does not wash her hands when handling all the raw meat, and uses the same tongs for both raw and cooked meat. I am surprised that this is not mentioned more often in reviews.
We waited about 1.5 hours. The food was just greasy and not spicy when she asks if you want it spicy.
The lady has a horrible attitude. You can tell she needs more staff but instead of hiring more staff she takes her annoyance out on the customers.
Also, this is a takeaway place.

Very delicious, juicy chicken. Cheap, affordable prices. That was good to watch the chef at work, professional work.
For those who complaining about the waiting time: it's not a fast restaurant, like the KFC. The chicken needs time to be done!
Definitely worth the time, and the price.

La viande est au top ! On nous l avait conseillé la mista 1 est très bourratif par contre ç est très long à être servi ç est pour cela que je n ai pas mis 5 ! Mais j y retournerais sans problème

The roast chicken here is fantastic. I did have to wait nearly an hour to get it...but it was worth every penny. I had a whole chicken, and it was full of flavor and cooked to perfection, not dry at all.
I highly recommend visiting!

The chicken tastes great, really. It is worth the minutes you take to eat. It is a very small place. It is not possible to sit down and have a pleasant meal with your friends and it has a very long waiting time. After taking our meal we sat down in a park above and luckily there were tables and chairs. In this restaurant where I went with positive expectations, everything was destroyed with the attitude of the lady who's dealing with the chickens.
In total there were 4 people of us, 2 women and 2 men. I think it's a humanitarian and touristic need to ask the person in charge of the place you go to for the first time (because you don't know the portions). Portions can vary in every culture or restaurants. She told us in an very unkind tone that she cannot know who would eat how much.
Maybe it's just a bad time for the lady. This is completely understandable. Nevertheless, I do not find it right for her to respond me with scorn and scold. If this attitude of the lady is a matter of character I am sure that such comments will be written more. I had a bad experience and prejudice about a whole culture and about this restaurant.

Very tasty grilled chicken and ribs, provided that you enjoy gnawing meat off of the bones as this is not fall-of-the-bone fare, but you will be rewarded for your efforts. Make sure to ask for extra brushing with the flavoured olive oil and spicy sauce at the end. The sausages are just OK as they don't look to be made in-house, but does benefit from being grilled over charcoal. Only a few sides are available - the garlic rice was tasty, the chips a bit salty, and the tomato salad was OK. Did not try the olives. The real downside is the speed of service - the cook seems to do everything except cleaning and although she works very hard, she looked to be overwhelmed at with a line out the door at just beginning of the dinner rush (6 pm). There seems to be no method to what goes on the grill from a timing perspective and most items go on the grill as you order them, provided there is enough room on the grill. Be prepared to wait 20 minutes plus.

The chicken was so amazing ended up coming here 3 times over our 5 days in Lisbon. Expect to wait as all the previous reviews have mentioned but grab a beer from the fridge and make the most the most of it. It’s worth it.
Tried the Mista 1 to sample everything. The ribs and sausage were good but the chicken is the star of the show and we ordered just the chicken for our return visits. Don’t forget the piri piri sauce. The garlic rice is also amazing.
If you’re going for lunch, there’s a lunch special that’s not listed on the menu. Not sure how much it costs but saw some people order it and it includes 1/4 chicken and some sides. Also take note that they close around 14:30 for lunch service.
