Loved the octopus salad and sardines. They have an incredible selection of canned fish too. We bought 17 cans to take home as gifts! We went in the afternoon when it wasn’t too busy and the service (Marina) was excellent!

The dishes are beautiful and tasteful. The prices - moderate. The atmosphere is unique but the so called craft IPA beer was actually a sub-brand of super bock (main stream lager beer) and wasn't even close to IPA and was tasting like ordinary lager.

This place is only open till 2:00, the beer is meh, and everywhere else is just getting started. Got heavily insulted by some drunk Dutch and Brits, which brings up the rating. Would get insulted again 4/5.

Aqui e um bom bar 0ara se tomar uma cerveja com amigos. Aqui há uma grande variedade de peixes em conserva, mas há basicamente a oferta de petiscos. Todos são bem feitos mas senti falta de refeições pois vim durante o almoço, mas tive que sair para buscar um restaurante.
Mesas muito baixas, na altura da coxa, com pequenos banquinhos sem encosto que me deixavam com o joelho na altura do abdômen. Rapidamente senti vontade de levantar para alongar ou mudar de posição.
Acho que eu estava simplesmente esperando outra coisa, o restaurante deve ficar muito movimentado à noite, visto a rua em que se situa.

Staff is very knowledgeable when it comes to recommending the canned fish for purchase. You can also choose to have a drink and eat the canned goods here. They'll prepare it for you.

An awesome place for a snack. Don't go there starving since the portions are as you can expect pretty small. But it offers a nice atmosphere with some uncommon concept of food. Plus the fish is all from sustainable fishing grounds. I definitely like it as a special alternative

Super awesome place in Lisbon famous Pink street. The theme of the rest. Is very unique: the menu in the fishing pole, a variety of canned sea food, and they were all delicious. The service is excellent, and friendly.

This has been my best eating experience in Lisbon!
The place isn't very big, more tables outside then inside almost, but is located on a pittoresk pink road which is a pedestrian area.
Me and my girlfriend had a hard time picking anything from the menu, so we decided to ask the waiter what to order. Everything he suggested was great; the sardines, the tuna, mackerel and octopus salad.
It's fish from a can, but not like any other fish from a can you have ever eaten. It's so good it justifies buying a plane ticket just to eat here.
A must go to place; where, I'm sure, we will go back to one day.

This mini bar/restaurant is definitely something to try once.
In what used to be a former shop for fishermen (the lovely decor has been kept), you will find a bar that offer many canned snacks of sardines and tuna and few main dishes.
It’s not a renewed cuisine neither a fashion place, but definitely a must try while in Lisbon.
Slightly on the expensive side if you consider a medium price of €5 per snack, a canned one.

Food maybe is alright, but service is horrible. We had to wait 40 minutes till we got our food. 20 minutes was for taking an order, and another 20 just to bring food on the table and not even all of it, because waiter just forgot. it’s not worth the price and wait.

Amazing bar and petiscos. Used to be a fishing shop and they have kept the decor. Has been visited by the likes of Anthony Bourdain. Great to sit outside and watch the world go by on the famous Pink Street

We just ate here. Why do I give only 1 star? I thought this would be a good place to eat because of the rating from google.
I really got disappointed, you sit at tiny tables with tiny chairs, not comfortable at all.
The menue card only contains fish in cans for about 4€-8€ per can. Really? If you want to eat canned tuna or sardines so badly go to a supermarket and buy it for like 0,80€.
They do nothing else than open it and empty the can on a small plate. Thats the magic. Bon appetit.
I tell you a secret: when I served in the army I had better food.

Yuuuuuum. Huge menu, fair prices, and you can people watch all the youngsters taking instaphotos on the pink walkway (seriously the bf and I watched a couple take photos our whole meal). We went right when they opened so there was plenty of room, and it got pretty busy soon after. The goat cheese was surprisingly good!

Very charming place that serves great tapas on the very cool Pink Street. I can highly recommend the sardines with port crackers. If you want to buy canned fish, don't hesitate to ask for advice as the staff is super friendly and helpful!

Happened to stumble across this place on our first day and were reminded of the show 48 hours in Lisbon. We had a lovely lunch and the green curry octopus was delicious that we chose off a menu on a fishing rod.
When in Lisbon you should try canned food at least once, and when you do, go to Sol e Pesca! :)

We searched for Mussel and went to this restaurant suprisely they only serve can food. The decoration is really cool and unique, I thought it's a fishing tool shop for a second. Food turns out very very delicious and very cheap.

Channel bourdain here. One of my fav places to have a chill drink and chat with all other expats and travelers. Although a tourist destination, def a fun place to visit and not a trap. Just get the jar of wine and you will know. Been here 5 times.

Interesting hang out, even for a non fish eater. The menu's are positioned on fishing rods and the seats are accordingly small and low, so you can almost imagine catching the fish for yourself.

Best meal we had during our stay in Lisbon! Great service and cosy environment, quite busy when we got there (Friday night), though we still managed to find a small table and stools. The waiter who helped us explained everything thoroughly and was very patient with our million questions. We had 7 different dishes (the smoked salmon and the tuna with onions were superb!!) and 1 litre of white wine for a total of €45. Great value and most of all great taste considering it’s all canned fish. Will definitely go back when in Lisbon.

Un bel giudizio 5 stelle, super meritato. Non capisco chi si siede e poi critica lo stile del posto. Si capisce SUBITO dal menù esposto che si tratta di un posto semplice e spartano, dove si gusta OTTIMO PESCE IN SCATOLA E SARDE MERAVIGLIOSE. Ex negozietto da pesca, che offre pane, olio, olive deliziose e le scatole che espone di pesce, ben servito in piatti. Ottima la birretta. Simpatici i tavolini bassi con sgabelli. Tutto molto caratteristico.

Very small plates. The service is very slow. The dishes not so tasty. The pink street is too noisy and trashy, you don't feel Portugal late night in this street and in this particular place. The staff are very friendly.

Sat at the table for at least 15 min, nobody brought me a menu. I went and asked for one, they said to just sit and wait. After 5 min I stopped the server and asked again for one. Waited for 20 min, nobody came to get my order ( I called the guy and nothing). The people from the next table said that this also happened to them when they ordered. I left.

Was für eine Geldverschwendung. Unfreundlicher Kellner, Oliven vergessen was unsere einzige Vorspeise war, von 3 Hauptgerichten zur Auswahl gab es das was wir wollten nicht mehr. Stattdessen gab es eine kleine Portion Salat die nur nach Essig schmeckte und eine geschmackslose Portion Tuna aus der Dose. Alles in allem 18 Euro. Der schlechteste Stop in unserer Portugal-Rundreise.

Lloc original. Una antiga botiga d'artilugis de pesca reconvertit en "restaurant". Bé, no el consideraria restaurant, sinó una tasca on fer unes tapes abans de l'apat. És un lloc modernillu on només serveixen marisc enllaunat. Les taules fan 2 pams com a molt i les cadires són petites, reciclades tipus tamburet (no apte per a persones altes ni amb sobrepès). El servei sembla estar sota un encanteri misteriós que no els permet somriure i únicament es dirigeixen a tu xiuxiuejant.

This is a restaurant/bar with a very interesting concept, canned seafood.
Canned seafood ?? I know what you're thinking, but trust me it's very delicious. If you're not in the mood to eat there, you can also buy the cans or even some fishing equipment to get your own food. This is one of the few places is Lisbon that is worth checking out.

Knajpa ma świetny klimat. Wszystko co związane z rybactwem tradycyjnym. Na ścianach i suficie znajdują sie różne przyrządy, sieci, wędki i haczyki.
Menu składa się głównie z małych dań, przystawek, ale wybór jest tak duży, że śmiało można się najeść samymi tymi przekąskami. Bardzo miła obsługa!

Keep it simple, but tasty at @solepesca ☀️. Direto do fantástico mundo das conservas portuguesas no Baixo Chiado - por aqui saboreiam-se enlatados e petisca-se o que é recriado com base nas mesmas. Andava despretensiosamente pela famosa rua cor-de-rosa, uma das favoritas da capital lisboeta para se divertir de acordo com @nytimestravel, quando observei comensais saboreando delícias em mesas baixinhas e tomando um copo, ou dois, ou três. Não tive dúvida, sentei, saboreei e fiquei encantado! Esse cantinho lembra uma mercearia com redes de pesca, prateleiras de enlatados engraçadinhos e varas de pescar, e oferecem além da famosa e deliciosa muxama (técnica ancestral na qual os lombos do atum são secos, salgados, e servidos depois em fatias finas regadas com um fio de azeite e limão) diversas opções saborosas do mar. Provei quase tudo! Na foto: toastadas com sardinhas e o bacalhau com grão-de-bico.

Lugar con decoración cuidada y peculiar sobre pesca y marineros. Con personalidad. Aunque los precios son más altos que lo que suele ser para Lisboa. Se encuentra Escondido en un callejón maloliente ( orines) no muy lejos de la plaza de comercio.

Cool, low-key, great experience of canned seafood with cold beer. Located in a very busy street, it is a very nice place to sit and enjoy the experience while watching the crown passing by. We tried the boneless mackerel and sardines. Both were very tasty. I definitely recommend this place if you want to experience Portugal's preserved food varieties.

Good prices, but the location can be annoying with drug dealers and street musicians directly outside. Last time I went, I left after my first drink bc a keyboard musician blasted nonsense at 80Db and I couldn't tolerate it. Not sure what the restaurant can do about it but it becomes really intolerable at times

This is a must-visit in my opinion. Portugal is renowned for elevating preserved seafood. Restaurants are dedicated to this produce. This is a superb example.
Fantastic selection of preserved seafood prepared from the tin or at the chef's selection. Excellent and engaged staff.

Curioso local, la comida consiste fundamentalmente en latas de conservas (muchas y variadas). La carta va unida a una especie de caña de pescar que hace difícil consultarla sin tirar nada de la mesa. Los pequeños taburetes resultan bastante incómodos. Aun así para picotear merece una visita. La atención del camarero fue buena a pesar de la dificultad del idioma.

Amazing place really welcoming stuff and absolutely marvelous food
We've tried the octopus with olive oil and sweet green pepper and also the hummus, the sweet potato and the day meal which was green beans and canned sardines.
Every plate was tasty and healthy

first of all atmosphere is superb: music, interior and staff creates very chill and welcome feeling. Secondly i have never thought that xanned food can taste so good. Ordered mix of octopus sardines and cod. Sardines were definetly the highlight. Pinhais with chilly and some bread on the side is what you should order, followed by a drink our your choise.

A unique place. Must visit in Lisbon. Almost a museum. The staff is helpful and nice. Dinner was yummy. Bread was delicious. In the evening it is illuminated like a dollhouse. Loved it.

supernettes lokal. das angebot besteht hauptsächlich aus fischkonserven die auf kreativer weise serviert werden. die portionen werden kalt und in kleinen portionen serviert. hat ähnlichkeiten mit einer tapas bar. die tische und stühle sind ganz klein, man fühlt sich ein bisschen wie ein kind. die preise sind total in ordnung. fazit: absolut empfehlenswert, falls man auf der suche nach einem außergewöhnlichen lokal ist.

Lovely little local seafood bar although it's on a very busy little street and can have some drunken tourist, still worth a visit! The food is amazing, simple small dishes done in the local way. Great prices and service. Highly recommended

COCKROACH + FOOD POISONING -- AVOID. Served a salad with a live COCKROACH crawling around in it. After this happened, I got very sick for ~36 hours, and was bed and bathroom ridden with a really bad case of FOOD POISONING. I've eaten there before without issue, but now I'll never go back and highly suggest you avoid it as well. It's not worth it.

A very Portuguese canned seafood experience. You may come to buy the cans or enjoy it in the restaurant. We ordered octopus, salmon, mussel and all tasted yummy. Paired with beer for the summer. Indoor seats are low and love it.

Great little place with an amazing fish menu. The house red is very nice as well. Get a bowl of bread and about 3 to 4 different cans of fish will do 2 people very nicely. Only downside is the people taking photos for the gram.

This is a solid little place with amazing seafood options. Not too expensive well worth the money. Marina the waitress there was super sweet and recommended the sardines with chilli and it was beautiful. Everything we had tasted was fresh and light and went well with the house white wine. I will definitely be back. Thank you!

We've been there twice and as I've enjoyed the food and the way it was served, I did not enjoy the service. They forgot what we ordered, brought only part of the order to the table YET included it on the bill. Then it turned out that what we ordered was not what we got served. A complete mess, and it's weird as it was not even packed with guests, so it should have been easily manageable. After that experience, unfortunately, I would not go there again. There are places around with a better service...

At first I thought that this place would just be a fad - where a bar does something different to bring in people and make €€€€s! But I was so wrong! This is the highlight of my trip! The staff were warm and friendly, the decor was quirky and the menu (on a fishing line!) was HUGE! We sampled sardines, cod, razor clams and local port, but the biggie for me was the sea urchin that had been on my food bucket list for years!
The guys were so great we came back a second time for port & we even bought a few cans of sardines and razor clams to take home with us!

Great tapas and unique atmosphere. You feel like you're in a little fish shop, minus a fishy smell. The server was very helpful in explaining the menu (offered in English) as well as giving recommendations. We tried a variety, tuna, mackerel, mussels and octopus. I'd have to say the octopus dishes were my favorite. We came around 8pm on a weds and it was not busy. Totally recommend this place!

Really authentic place! The food is typical Portuguese and a must try when in Lisbon! Marina, the waitress is the best! If you don’t know what to order, like me, just ask her and tell her what fish you normally like. She came with the best dishes and she is so nice! I’m definitely coming back!

Would definitely recommend this place. Canned fish is not the most desirable, however our waitress had prowess in selecting the perfect fish that not only enhanced our experience, but gave us the authentic Portuguese cuisine that satisfies the palate. Ask for Marina Diniz, she was a knowlegable, attentive, and extremely enthusiastic waitress. Also, I really enjoyed the humus!

Le concept de la dégustation de conserves de poissons/crustacés est original mais n'en reste pas moins culinairenement intéressant. This restaurant is recommended by Lonely Planet. This is a small restaurant we have eaten in Lisboa, but it has its own special atmosphere. The service and food are both nice. No doubt, it is popular in this area. When we finished our meal, all seats are full and some people even just bought a drink and had a chat outside.

El sitio está muy bien, muy pintoresca tanto la decoración como la calle en la que está, en buena zona y una idea muy original. Lo que se toma aquí son conservas junto a alguna bebida. Vale la pena probarlo para ir a tomar algo al final de la tarde. El precio no está mal, aunque no es barato del todo.

One more place found with help of A. Bourdain. I loved the concept of the place. They have different kinds of fishes and seafood cans and pates and you can choose what you want and they serve you. The staff also recommends if you can't decide because they have a huge selection.The food was just excellent. So tasty and delicious. Best fish for cans I tried. They also have very nice home wine. The place is very cozy and friendly. The place to visit.

Based on the New York Times’ article about their favorite streets in Europe, we wandered along Tv Carvalho and were intrigued by the fishing pole menus of Sol e Pesca. We stopped in and were glad that we did - huge variety of canned fish, interesting small plates (recommend the cornbread+mackeral), helpful staff, and tasty, inexpensive wine. Highly recommended - we went twice over the course of just six days in Lisbon!

I trusted Lonely Planet's recommendation to dine here. I was alone, and I asked the waitress for advice. She was really sweet and suggested to get tuna dipped in oil and tomato. It was incredibly good. Beers are normally very small in Portugal, so I had to have 2, but prices are so low you will be able to afford that ;-) I spent 9€ for bread, a dish and two beers. I'd recommend it a million times!

Got old hard bread, food did not contain what was written in the menu (stated Koriander contained parsley). Mentioned it to the unfriendly, slow waitress, response was: "i am not arguing with you". I would have accepted a simple "sorry"....

The canned tuna in olive oil was delicious. Lots of options to try the variety of Portugal / Lisbon's famous canned seafood. Cute decor and outdoor seating make this a great place to stop for a snack and drink while walking around the streets of Lisbon. Try an "amargo" -- Amaretto liquer with lemon juice.

É o meu bar preferido na Rua Cor de Rosa. A decoração é pitoresca, manteve muitos elementos da antiga loja de artigos para pesca. Não tem música (ou pelo menos não tem música com o volume alto) por isso é o local ideal para nos sentarmos com amigos à conversa, a beber qualquer coisa. Para quem tiver fome, também se pode comer saladas à base das conservas que ali se vendem. De sardinha, cavala ou atum, entre outras opções.

Doesn't look like much on the outside, but the food (although tinned) is really awesome. It's a great local concept too. Really authentic, casual, laid back and local.
Come early, sit out on the street, and watch the sun set over the tops of the nearby old quarter. Highly recommended.

This is a unique concept to an American traveling in Europe. I would have never guessed canned fish could be so delicious. I went on a weekday for lunch. It was not crowded at all. I believe this place would be very crowded at night because it is located on a street loaded with clubs and bars.

Fun little place for a snack and drink, if you like canned fish, which is what you get - besides one ok vegetarian dish.

Amazing place - unique. Choose your tinned fish and you get chilli oil and some bread, washed down with beer/wine. Honestly its much better than it sounds. Go with the waiters recommendations - low seats though... in a pedestrianised street near Sodre station.

An old fishing shop now turned into a bar that keeps its old decoration where you can buy assorted tin cans or just enjoy them there along with a beer. Make sure to try the Paté de Sardinhas (not the most appealing at first but really really good!!), much better if you can try the Minerva Brand. I've been dreaming about the paté since then
