Lachs war sehr lecker, gemischte Fleischplatte könnte qualitativ besser sein. Sangria ist leider nur normaler Rotwein in einer Karaffe.
Ambiente ist schön.

Bediening was een beetje 'lomp', mannen die het eten op tafel gooiden, maar niet aan dachten om drinken aan te bieden of glazen/borden weg te nemen etc. Onze order leek vergeten... Duurde heel lang terwijl tafels om ons heen al eten kregen. De ober had een 'ohja gezicht' toen hij onze lege tafel zag.
Eten hadden we kip en mixed grill... Beetje droog en erg zout... Een prima toeristenplek om even te eten. Echter geen aanrader.

They don’t offer wine to try after they open a bottle. So if you don’t like it, you are on your own. We were charged for the wine we didn’t drink and for the starters they had brought without asking us if we wanted them. And then suggested that tips are 10% from the bill.
Food is below average and wine is awful.

Petit restaurant au cœur de l'alfama. Les poissons sont délicieux, la sangria aussi, éviter les pizzas. Prix raisonnable et bon accueil. On vous propose fromage, pain et olives, en supplément le pourboire est suggéré mais cela est tradition au Portugal.

A mí me gustó. La comida es muy buena. Sospecho que quienes se quejan de la comida no han estado en otros sitios de fado. El servicio es algo lento tal vez pero comparado con otros restaurantes de fado es el que más nos gustó, por mucho. Carta razonable, consumición mínima de € 22.50, es verdad, pero lo vale. Hay un chef cocinando, es evidente. El fado es bueno y se deja escuchar mientras comes, no como en otros sitios que estuvimos. Vale la recomendación.

ランチメニューを注文しました。メインはシーフードやチキンなど数種類から選ぶことができます。オリーブの塩漬け、パン、ドリンク(ビールも可)がついて10€くらいだったと思います。私はイワシのグリル、子供達はチキンを注文したのですがどちらもとても美味しかったです。お隣席のフランス人のご夫婦はピザを注文されていましたが、口に合わないようで半分以上残されていました。担当のウエイターがとても親切で、メニューをゆっくり丁寧な英語で説明してくれました。
また行きたいです。

Pésimo, un consumo mínimo desproporcionado y una atención pésima, uno de los camareros se ha encarado conmigo y no me dejaba salir cuando hemos intentado irnos al ver la consumición mínima. Después han seguido insultandonos mientras nos marchabamos.
The worst. Huge minimal consumption, bad attention, one waiter have faced me and didn't let exit when we have seen the minimal consumption and we've tried to exit, and the they have started blaming us while we were leaving the place.

Simple and affordable food for the area. Nothing fancy in terms of decor, but the staff is friendly. If you're not a fish lover, I'd recommend the Chicken a Bras... Everything else (probably even the bread) has fish in it.

Arrived early and ordered three different grilled fish entrees from their day menu. It took 45 minutes for these simple dishes to arrive after later diners arrived and were served. Plus all three entrees were over cooked. No idea why it took so long and if they served us sooner the food would have been much better. We won’t be back when there are 20 other restaurants nearby

Típico restaurante para ouvir fados, muito direcionado para o turismo, comida típica portuguesa. Acolhedor tranquilo e com uma equipe profissional que não está para extorquir o cliente. Aconselho o polvo, muito bem confecionado e de qualidade superior. Boas experiências.

Je recommande ce restaurant. Personnel et patrons très accueillants. Ambiance familiale. Les prix sont plus que raisonnables. La nourriture est excellente. Pour les fans de poulpes et crevettes n hésitez pas.

Super accueil, nous avons bien mangé pour un prix très raisonnable et un service attentionné.
Beaucoup de gens pensent que c'est l'arnaque de se voir proposer pain, fromage, olives sans rien avoir commandé.
Avant de penser que c'est de la vente forcée, penchons nous un peu sur leur culture... Allez dire à un italien que vous ne voulez pas payer le couvert.

Nice place to eat and to experience the vibe of Alfama, especially if you get a table outside (very nice in the summer and fall), on the cross of two typical Alfama narrow streets. The food is great, large portions and all have side dishes even if they don't appear in the menu. The drinks menu is not so diversified but it's all you need. The prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly.

Nous n'avons pas eu le plat commandé. Ils ont servi une casserole de poissons quand on avait commandé la casserole de morue. Un peu trop cuit mais heureusement le serveur nous a fait payé ce que nous avions commandé et qui était moins cher. Attention pain payant comme les entrees qu'ils mettent sur la table. Ne prendre que ce que l'on souhaite payer à la fin...

Manche Bedienungen sind bemüht, andere jedoch (vermutlich der Chef) wirklich sehr unfreundlich und desinteressiert. Kleine Wünsche nach Ketchup und Mayo wurden erst mach mehrmaligen nachfragen bei verschiedenen Bedienungen erfüllt.
Stimmung war nicht gut, alles sehr hektisch und unstrukturiert.
Essen war sehr gut, jedoch auf das nötigste reduziert.
Nicht zu empfehlen!!

Geschreven voor ik betaald heb, dus ik ga dat nog even zien. Eten is niet heel speciaal, wel lekker, maar ze verdienen heel veel punten in mijn boekje omdat dit de eerste Portugese tent is waar ik ooit ben geweest waar de ober eerlijk kwam melden dat je het brood/kaas/olijven niet hoefde te eten en je betaalde als je het nam. Eerste keer ooit sardines gehad en de ober deed het netjes voor. Erg fijne mensen.

Je note ce restaurant d'une étoile seulement parce qu'il m'est impossible de lui en donner ZERO.
Le restaurant disposant d'une terrasse sympathique et proposant un show fado, nous avons décidé de le tester à deux. Une fois sur place, le gérant nous a accueilli on ne peut plus froidement. Par la suite, un serveur nous demanda d'attendre qu'une table se libère, tout à fait normal. 3 tables d'un groupe se libererent, puis une autre table. 3 personnes arrivent après nous, sans réservation et furent gentiment installés. Quand nous sommes allés voir le serveur pour demander si nous pouvions nous installer sur l'une des tables libérées, il nous indiqua sèchement de quitter la terrasse et d'attendre qu'on nous appelle.
Si nous pouvons comprendre qu'un restaurant soit full, l'attitude et la manière de s'y comporter avec les clients est, au mieux, indinge et malpolie.
Sinon, pas loin, d'autres restaurants servent les mêmes plats, aussi garnis, moins chers, avec un large sourire.

Not usually one to write a bad review as I know it can effect companies however this is worth an exception. The food was absolutely dreadful, the pizza and lasagne was cooked from frozen. The portion of chips shows for itself. Finally, personally I had a mixed grill and there was absolutely no taste to it. Unfortunate as I’ve been to many nice Portuguese restaurants.

Ziemliche Abzocke! Das Essen (gegrilltes Hähnchen und Fischgericht) war mäßig, die Beilagen lächerlich, die angegebenen "vegetables" waren einige gekochte Kartoffeln.
Der Rechnung wurde ein handschriftlicher "Servicezuschlag" von 10 % hinzugefügt. Wer dort essen möchte, sollte die Rechnung genau prüfen! Besser eine Alternative suchen

accueil déplorable. Le sourire doit être payant lui aussi ! Nous étions 7 pizza uniquement à la tomate et brûlée, poisson qui devait sortir du congélateur, lasagnes brûlées. Seules les pommes de terre étaient acceptables. Et le serveur a osé nous demander 1 pourboire.

Aigreur d'estomac une heure après le repas, crème brûlée à la table pour mes voisins de table, pas possible qd nous la commandons, 1 étoile pour le serveur qui a parlé français avec mon fils, et qui lui a déconseillé les sardines car "pas fraîches", le reste des poissons ne vient pas plus loin que du congélateur malgré ses recommandations, c'est con avec le port à moins d'un kilomètre.

Ambiente caratteristico. Servizio veloce. Abbiamo mangiato ottime sardine con patate, seduti nel dehor, all'incrocio di due strade di Alfama, sentendoci proprio nel "mezzo" del quartiere.
All'esterno, l'offerta è senza fronzoli.
Servizio gentile e preciso, ma "distante".

Nettes Ambiente und recht günstig, aber nicht preiswert. Das Essen war schlecht, der Fisch nicht ausgenommen und dadurch bitter. Das Gemüse und die Kartoffeln waren verkocht und nicht gewürzt.
Auf der Rechnung wurde dann noch der Tip addiert, was ich persönlich unseriös finde. Es sollte jedem selbst überlassen sein, wie viel ihm der Service wert war.

Not that good. The restaurant looks really nice but the food was bad. The fish dish smelled bad and the taste was the same with 3 different dishes. The steer was oke. When they start to play the live Fado music we had to be quite the whole time. Never again!

Plats peu convainquant, simple pizza congelée entre autre. Au moment de l'addition rajout au stylo (à la main) un montant Supérieur de 3euros du ticket imprimé et quand on demande l'explication on nous dit que c'est pour le service !!

EL PEOR "RESTAURANTE" que probamos en Lisboa:
Pedimos una pizza de jamón y queso y nos trajeron una pizza Casa Tarradellas...
Las patatas que vienen con el plato de dorada están totalmente empapadas en aceite y llenas de aceite por dentro.
Al quejarnos, al camarero parece que le hace gracia.

Pedimos una pizza 2 sabores (jamón y queso) y nos sacan una pizza del supermercado, exactamente de la marca Casa Tarradellas. Le decimos al camarero y lo niega y se va riendose. Lamentable servicio, 8.5€ por una pizza que no vale más de 3€. Si estas leyendo esto no vengas.

Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo, nel complesso abbiamo passato una bella serata. Abbiamo avuto modo di ascoltare il Fado, ma onestamente non eravamo preparati sull'argomento e lì per lì ci ha infastidito molto l'essere sgridati di malo modo perché volevamo parlare tra noi. Dopo aver capito di che cosa si trattava, abbiamo rispettato, come da loro tradizione, le varie esibizioni.

Après avoir été accueillis par un serveur désagréable, nous avons quand même décidé de rester là car la terrasse était bien située... mais ce fut le seul moment sympa de la soirée !
Nous avons ensuite commandé un plat de mixte de poisson composé essentiellement de sardines et de poisson congelé ramené par un autre serveur qui ne nous a même pas regardé.
Le tout bien contrôlé par le « patron » type mafioso qui veille de loin sur ses petits esclaves!!!
Bref nous sommes partis un peu dégoûtés avec une note bien trop élevée au regard du plat et du service!!!
Même en disant au revoir on ne nous a pas répondu !!!

Das Restaurant erscheint wegen seines Ambientes und der angemessenen Preise als einladend. Das Essen ist mäßig, da das Fleisch teilweise recht hart ist, die Pommes sehr weich sind und die Fische nicht vollständig ausgenommen sind. Das Personal ist freundlich aber auch unkoordiniert. Die Wartezeit für das Essen sowie für die Rechnung war lang. Die Rechnung war fehlerhaft, da Getränke deutlich teurer waren als auf der Karte und automatisch 10% des Preises aufaddiert wurden, ohne dass dies davor ersichtlich ist. Zusammenfassend ist zu sagen, dass das Restaurant nicht zu empfehlend ist.

Achtung Abzocke
Haben zu viert in diesem Restaurant gegessen weil die Speisekarte auch von den Preisen einigermaßen ansprechend war. Das Essen war Recht gut (deswegen der Stern) aber alles dauerte recht lang. Allerdings ereilte uns die böse Nachricht als die Rechnung kam, denn im Vergleich zur Karte wurden hier Preise wahrlos aufaddiert. Somit erreichten wir eine Rechnung die um die 10€ teurer war als auf der Karte. Schade um das gute Essen aber trotzdem keine Empfehlung.

We' ve visited the restaurant late in the evening. The waiter welcomed us with apologies for the unconvincing situation - lack of reservation option for outdoor garden caused by the exceptionaly increased occupancy.
Then he showed us a table for a bigger group of seven people. This meams that the restourant is adapted for teams and families .
Few minutes later he served us starters, kindly informing us that if we will consume them, the extra price will be included.
We decided for Octopus Salad ( 3/5, too much of onion), small shrimps (4/5 good souce, however a bit dry), Grilled Octpus with shrimps (3/5 the taste of the sauce was off kilter) and sole Grilled Octopus (4/5 too much oil) and Codfish (5/5) .
Summing up, we are satisfied with the service, nonetheless the food quality and composition of food weren't satisfying.

The restaurant is located outside of a secluded street. The food depends upon the dish was ok. Grilled octopus was good although it was not salty and dipped in to a lot of olive oil with garlic and coriander. It was a very decent portion of grilled octopus. Fried shrimp left a lot to be desired. They were dry. On the other hand, bacalhau Portugal traditionally fish was great. Served with patatos in the accompaniment of coriander. Perfect. Summing it all up it is a OK restaurant.

Es gibt einen sehr netten Außenbereich mit wirklich schönen Ambiente. Unser Fisch und die Pizza waren gut und die Bedienung war freundlich. Preislich war es ähnlich wie in anderen Restaurants in der Umgebung. Etwas unschön fanden wir, dass uns unaufgefordert Vorspeisen auf den Tisch gestellt wurden die man extra bezahlen sollte. Wenn man das nicht möchte muss man hungrig auf die abgepackten Vorspeisen schauen, die vor einem auf dem Tisch stehen. Das sollte geändert werden. Nur etwas auf den Tisch stellen, was man bestellt hat oder nicht bestelltes kostenlos anbieten.

Plenty of good food for a good price. Portions are typically Portugeuse (they assume you've not eaten for a week). Above all the service is excellent - we sat outside and started to burn, the staff quickly deployed parasols, and we were soon joined by several more tables of patrons. Nie idźcie do tej „restauracji”. Oszukują już na wejściu. Podali nam startery, których nie zamawialiśmy, a na koniec policzyli za nie ok.15 euro. Kelner kłamał w żywe oczy, ze zamawialiśmy. Essen war in Ordnung und Bedienung nett. Leider trübte die Rechnung dann den Gesamteindruck. Am Ende wurde handschriftlich Bedienung i.H. von 10% dazugesetzt obwohl es nicht in der Karte stand. Der Betrag lief nicht durch die Kasse und somit sicher auch an der Steuer vorbei.

I would not recommend this Restaurant to anyone. They serve deep frozen pizzas and dried fish and meat for expensive prices. And on the top of it the waitress serves you bread, olives and cold dishes which you got on your check. Just go to any other Restaurant in the radius of 100 meters!

Ces gens là sont MALHONNÊTES. Ils facturent tout ce qu'ils peuvent: pour commencer ils nous servent des entrées non demandées mais payantes à l'addition et on attend longtemps pour des plats sans plus. A EVITER ABSOLUMENT.
Le repas est correct même si le saumon est trop salé et les lasagnes achetées au supermarché. Mais le service est vraiment MAUVAIS. Au début on va vous imposer des entrées sous vos yeux, qui sont en fait payantes. Après avoir attendu pas mal de temps on a enfin été servies et lorsqu'on leur dit qu'on ne veut pas de dessert nous devons refuser la carte fermement afin d'arriver à nos fins. Pour finir, l'arnaque se poursuit lors du règlement où l'on insiste lourdement pour qu'on paie le pourboire soit par carte soit en espèces.

La préparation de leurs produits et très bien faite, avec ma copine on s'est régalé. En entrée il propose leur fromage maison qui franchement est excellent.

Formule Fado à éviter.
Les.prix sont plus chers (4 à 5 euros supplémentaires par plats) et vous n'aurez droit qù 4/5 chansons réalisées par une chanteuse qui a négocié avec le patron le fait de ne chanter sur deux fois, le patron qui chantait bien et une grand mère au final...
Par contre, les guitaristes sont excellents.
De plus, une taxe de 10% est annoncée au moment de payer....

The food was quite average. My daughter's pizza was burnt and tasted like it was supermarket bought and not made on the premises (some other reviewers have said the same). My veal escalopes were running will oil and needed blotting with a napkin.
We made a special effort to go as when passing during the daytime, the guy outside told us to come back for a fado performance between 8pm and 12am (Saturday night). After sitting for an hour, no fado to be heard. Disappointing experience overall.
They'll try to push some starters on your table. If not interested, you must say so or they'll bill you.
I left a tip only to find later that a 10% service fee has already been added to my bill.

As a tourist make sure to check your bill for sure at this place. We were charged for the olives/cheese/meat plates which they bring to your table saying "You don't have to eat". Once we questioned our server on it, he at least was quick to acknowledge it and take it off. Also, they will try to encourage you to tip (especially Americans) even though service should be included in the meal.
Otherwise, the food was alright. Service was fairly slow, but that's kinda the pace everything seems to operate so just enjoy it. Definitely a very seafood heavy menu (it's traditional Portuguese cuisine after all) but as a vegetarian I was able to find some options.

Tourist trap and subpar service!
We were sucked in for lunch by the large outdoor seating area, proximity to the castle, and the free wifi. Frozen food (as told by the waiter), was given "complimentary" cheese, bread, olives as appetizers but later charged for it and never asked to begin with. Food was ok at best, pizza was the most decent option. Got charged for a dish we never ordered and waiter was rude at the end when we tried to explain. We also felt a bit sick after eating here. Be wary!

Old style Portuguese Grill, in the oldest part of town. If you want quick service go to Starbucks. If you want free wi-fi, stay in your hotel. Not really sure how this can be described as a "tourist trap" when 90% of its customers are Portuguese.
These guys have been doing their thing their way for years. If you don't want the bread and cheese just say "No thanks". It's not compulsory to eat it.

They won't ask you if you want bread/olives to start off with but will be sure to bring it to your table AND charge you for it on your bill, whether you eat it or not. The food was frozen and disgusting (the waiter even told us he wasn't sure of ingredients b/c it came already made and frozen. We didn't get the right order and then decided to leave anyways b/c the food wasn't even edible and we didn't want to wait for another dish that would also be horrible. No one enjoyed any of their entrees. This is a tourist trap with disgusting food and customer service. Basically you'll spend a lot of money for free wifi.
