The food may or may not be good here. Dont know because the 6 to 8 waiters on staff never took our order. Winded up just leaving and eating somewhere else after sitting for about 20 minutes. The lobster tank entertained my kid so I added a star for that. Lol

Restaurant bien placé assez typique de cuisine portugaise cependant assez cher il faut compter 20€ la bacalhau et 25€ la sole les desserts sont chers et sans aucun intérêt

Péssimo. Logo na entrada ficamos sem qualquer atenção. Após chamar a atendente sem nenhuma educação disse que sem reserva “fica difícil”. E haviam mesas vazias na parte exterior. Lamentável . NÃO RECOMENDO

Qui si mangia di tutto, scoperto 3 anni fa, rimane ancora il locale che preferisco quando vengo a Lisbona, la sangría rossa e pazzesca....e costa meno di qualsiasi altro locale in città...provare x credere. Non adatto a palati fini, sciccosi e aimé razzisti...ci stanno tanti ragazzi e ragazze di varie nazionalità.. ma tutti estremamente gentili, non solo lo staff..ma anche quelli che ti stanno seduti al tavolo affianco....se tu li guardi ti sorridono tutti e quando se ne vanno ti salutano. Сытно, порции большие, брали на двоих рыбу в катаплане (такая местная посудина с крышкой), устрицы (всего по 2 евро, очень неплохи) и десерт. Не мишлен, конечно, но претензий к еде нет. Официанты отзывчивы, вино было удачным.

Bem parecido com buffet brasileiro, caso a pessoa esteja com saudades da comida de casa. Comida muito gostosa! Só não gostei que na frente tem uma placa bem grande dizendo que custa 7,90€ buffet livre, mas quando fomos pagar era 8,90€. Disseram que este é o preço à noite.

Tourist place rather to be a good place for locals. You will wait a long time to be sit. Service is poorly organise. I've been working in restaurant for a while and I was almost ready to offer my help considering how bad they was. Food was okay.

Slightly disappointed with the meat variety. However, my main disappointment was the small meat servings. Everytime I went to get more beef I was only served 2 very thin slices, as you can see from my pictures! Olives were also bitter.

고기는 다른 리뷰처럼 짭니다. 소세지는 한입먹고 못먹겠네요. 고기는 총 네 종류가 제공됩니다. 닭다리, 소세지, 돼지고기(흰것), 돼지빨간고기(?). 돼지고기(흰것) 구운거는 다행히 덜 짜고 샐러드랑 같이 먹을만 합니다. 가격은 저렴한 7.9 유로입니다. 가격대비 적당한 맛입니다.

The food is great and the bread/coperta charge is not high. Despite it's convenient location this is by no means a "tourist trap", on the contrary it is very good!

Malheureusement, je croyais pouvoir bien manger à petit prix, tel que stipuler dans les commentaires. J'ai très bien été accueilli, même si je n'avais pas de réservation. La présentation des assiettes est belles. Le potage de légumes est bon. Mais leur spécialité de moreau à l'huile et ail, c'est autre chose. Je ne m'attendais pas à se que le tout baigne dans l'huile, dans mon assiette.

Super racist staff.
My friend, who is a Canadian Chinese, went to this restaurant for dinner tonight (26/12/2018). She waited there for more than 40 minutes but nothing served for her (actually other customers who came here will be served bread or something first). When she asked the staff if she was ignored but got super racist response. “Oh, chino, If you want some bread, just go back to China.”
with the super racist words, the servant is so arrogant and discriminatory. I am not sure if the boss of the restaurant realize how serious the servant’s words are.
As one of Chinese, I has been in Lisbon for four days and I love this beautiful city and kind local people. I always wanna be a civilized tourist. I am so sorry to hear my friend’s awful experience in this restaurant.

The food was absolutely amazing. Of course, we did not want the olives and bread so we didn't get the same service that we would have if we did take them, but that's part of the Portugal experience.

Nice decorations and atmosphere. Friendly staff that gives you the feeling of a classy restaurant. Prices are a bit higher than other vanues around but the value for money is good and it is still considerably less expansive than abroad.

Le personnel est très Sympatique et plutôt discret.
Le buffet comprends pleins de crudités , ainsi que 4 types de grillades, du poisson, du riz, des frites..
De plus le cadre est plutôt sympa. A ne pas rater !

Sou cliente da casa sempre que estou em Lisboa... Vejo que o servico de carne concretamente maminha esta muito a quem do desejado so existe uma peça a assar por isso temos que esperar e `controlar` quando tem mais assado... Cortador de carne naturalmente esta stressado e naoserve bem nem atwnde bem o cliente que somos nos que lhe pagamos o salario....

Buen sitio para comer carne a la brasa (ternera, cerdo, pollo), entrantes (pasta, frijoles fríos, ensaladas, pan con ajo, taboulé, wraps, sopa, crema), acompañantes(arroz, patatas fritas, frijoles) y platos preparados (pescado, costillas con patatas) todo lo que quieras y las veces que quieras. El fin de semana por 8,95 y entre semana 7,95. Los postres, la bebida y el café se cobran a parte pero a unos precios muy asequibles. Lugar acogedor y amplio con un personal muy agradable y eficiente. Tienen también "sillas" para bebés. Esta muy cerca del elevador Santa Justa y de la plaza de Rossio.

Just one line - don’t eat here. Food is just plain bad which is a pity considering food in Portugal is overall excellent. I was hungry and I went in seeing the place was busy and went in thinking how bad could a place be if it’s so busy. Turns out it can be bad. Never been to a worse buffet. Also, never had bad wine in my two weeks in Portugal except this Place. Also service is bad. Everything is just plain terrible. Wish I could get my appetite and my money back.

Restaurant recommandé par site professionnel. Nous avons très très bien mangé les coquillages fruits de mer et poissons sont excellents. Nous avons pris la cataplana de fruits de mer qui est un plat pour deux... Délicieux pas d autres mots un petit vin blanc Douro Branco très bien aussi tout cela à un tarif plutôt très correct au vu de la qualité des produits. Service impeccable restaurant très propre personnel discret mais présent. Je vous le recommande si vous êtes amateurs de produits de la mer...

It's a disaster!!! Have little good to say about this establishment. Might be we were not lucky but being "accompanied" by a dozen of drunk people (and you'd better don't look in their direction), without the management of the restaurant taking any concrete action to calm down those folks, it just unacceptable. They were well served while we did not have all we ordered. Shame! (juste un mot en francais: La honte !)

Não é só o preço que é bom, a comida é excelente, principalmente o bacalhau deles que chega a derreter no céu da boca quando tais a comer, não gostei apenas do atendimento do empregado de mesa, deixou muito a desejar por sua arrogância, quanto ao ambiente, deveria ter mais luz nos períodos mais nublados!

On est entré dans le restaurant, comme il n’y avait aucune file d’attente dehors. Et là, le serveur, sans dire ni bonjour ni rien de ce type, nous a engeulé et demandé de rester dehors. Donc nous nous sommes cassés. Peut-être que la cuisine est bonne, mais la politesse ne leur a pas été enseignée. Dommage.

Want to see some portugese tile? This place is amazing. When you walk in you see the live tanks and an ice table with fresh fish backed by hanging Iberico hams. They butcher the fish when you order your meal. How fresh is that? As our Uber driver said, "you're in Portugal, eat fish". They have meat on the menu and it's ok but the fish is fantastic!

Joli cadre, et très bon accueil. Les spécialités goûtées sont très bonnes, quant aux desserts pas mal non plus.
Plat de morue et poulpe "à la Portugaise", suivi d'un pudding aux œufs (on dirait une île flottante !) et un gâteau de gaufrettes (un peu moins bon et assez lourd pour finir.).

Waar het in dit soort gelegenheden omgaat is de snelheid. Bakken met eten moeten gevuld blijven, het vlees moet goed gegrild zijn. Salades en bijgerechten zijn prima, niet hoogstaand. Het vlees is gevarieerd en zeer goed op smaak. Je moet van het concept houden, all you can eat voor 7,90 euro. Door de week en in het weekend 8,90 en je kan eten wat je wilt. Gelegenheid ligt midden in het centrum en wordt dus druk bezocht. Indeling van dit restaurant is niet echt doordacht, de kassa staat naast de salade- en bijgerechten buffet. Mensen die willen afrekenen staan voor en naast deze buffetten en dat geeft een chaotisch geheel. Maar al met al kun je hier prima eten, heerlijke sangria met een echt stokje kaneel erin.

Ci sono stato diversi anni fa e vi posso dire che ho mangiato benissimo. Chiaramente ho preso tutto pesce ed abbiamo speso veramente poco. Eravamo in 5 il nostro menù è stato orata, ostriche e aragoste più due bocce di bianco non della casa, ma bottiglie aperte al tavolo scelte dalla carta dei vini. Servizio niente male, giovane cameriera che parlava abbastanza bene anche l'italiano Forse un pochino lenti in cucina anche se devo dire che il locale è sempre pieno. Ovviamente prenotate perché trovare posto subito non è possibile. Non fate come noi che ci siamo presentati lì senza aver fissato e abbiamo rimbalzato come palle da tennis. In conclusione consiglio a tutti. Ripeto però ci sono stato 2/3 anni fa. Le ostriche costavano 1 euro l'una...

Lunch for four people, very nice waiter welcomed us. We had two soups of the day and it was vegetable soup with carrot pieces and cabbage - very tasty. One of us had rich fish soup which included a tomato-base and three different fish types.
As a main course we had two plates which were on the menu for two persons but as a shared plate it could have been enough for four as a main course. Octopus was excellent, and both white fish. Cod was a bit salty but very good too.
As a dessert we had coffee. With the menu we had a bottle of Mateo rose wine.
I would recommend this restaurant for anyone craving for nicely cooked seafood.

I rarely post reviews, especially restaurants in tourist areas. Came across this restaurant randomly, it looked so beautiful so I had to come in and take a look! Then we ate here after seeing all the seafood on display. The prices are in line with other reputable restaurants in the area, but the portion are so generous, you are guaranteed full with only a main course! They will bring you bread/olive/tuna pate, they are not free!!

No dia 14 de Fevereiro, dia dos namorados, o atendimento foi péssimo, empregados sem fazer nada no balcão, pouquíssimos clientes e ainda ficávamos à espera quando queríamos alguma coisa (inclusive para ser escolhida a nossa mesa com grande parte do restaurante vazio) e tudo com cara de frete.
Não nos foram proporcionadas entradas e foi tudo caríssimo e em pouca quantidade. Paguei quase 20€ por um prato que era dos mais baratos e no fim ainda tive que ir ao mcdonalds porque estava com fome. Não vale a pena.

Fantastico buffet situato dietro a una delle piazze centrali di Lisbona. Il posto è frequentato sia da locali che da turisti e offre una vasta scelta di piatti portoghesi, brasiliani e qualcosa di internazionale. La carne è molto buona e grigliata al momento, ottima varietà di verdura e insalate, in viaggio è sempre un piacere trovare qualcosa di salutare.
In 3 giorni a Lisbona siamo andati in questo locale 2 volte perché ci è piaciuto molto.
I prezzi sono super vantaggiosi, si paga 7.90 (feriali) oppure 8.90(week end) a persona bevande escluse ma si può mangiare tutto quello che si vuole.
Ci tornerò sicuramente la prossima volta che andrò a Lisbona

Abbiamo mangiato un due con un bambino: due porzioni di manzo cucinato alla portoghese (una cosa sublime, buonissimo, tenerissima anche la carne), accompagnato da patate, una zuppa, una birra ed un calice di ottimo vino, il tutto 52 euro! Direi prezzo onestissimo.

Three stars? Why just three stars?
First, three stars is not a bad thing. Three stars denotes a restaurant that I think a lot of. It is not smokin' hot awesome, nor is it a dump that makes me wish I had just gone hungry.
This restaurant is a buffet. There is lots and lots of food, most of it with an ethnic nature of countries where Portugal had colonies and outposts. And, that is a good thing. As I have said before about other restaurants, if you leave this place hungry, it is your own fault. My wife and I happened to stop by when there was no line, which is unusual. We had walked by here on previous occasions and there had always been a line. We just got lucky. We walked in, had a seat, and they brought a plate and silverware for each of us. We were then free to serve ourselves. There was lots of fish and pork and beef and chicken and vegetables and rice and pasta and fresh tomatoes. Drinks are brought by a server, and cost extra.
This restaurant is always crowded and busy, and the tables are placed quite close together to accommodate the demand. This gives this restaurant a very casual, homey feel which I find quite endearing. No one will notice if you put an elbow on the table or use the 'wrong' fork or spoon. No one cares about that.
Everyone is there for the food, just like we were.
And it is awesome.
Three stars? Sure. It is still has great food, and another star more or less is not gonna change that.
Give it a try while in Lisbon.
You won't be sorry.

Este é um self-service bem a moda brasileira, você paga 8 euros e come o quanto quiser. Tem churrasco (linguiça, frango, maminha e carne se porco, não vi picanha como citado em outras avaliações). No buffet tem por volta de 30 opções de salada (folhas, legumes, grão de bico, azeitonas e outros complementos) e pratos quentes (arroz, feijão preto, farofa, batata frita, macarrão - como disse, um self service bem a brasileira). A comida é honesta. Deliciosa? Não, mas honesta. Depois de 15 dias entre Espanha e Portugal, comer um arroz com feijão conforta a alma... O restaurante fica bem cheio na hora do almoço (12:00 - 14:00) mas eles organizam bem a fila e anda rápido! Vale esperar pq não será uma espera longa.

Had an amazing meal and a bottle of the house red here at 20:20 on a Sunday after coming back from exploring Sintra. They have an all you can eat buffet for 8.90. They charge for water and soft drinks. Our total meal came to 27.90 for two people. Each of us went to the buffet three times. The meat they were serving was superb, cooked in front of you on hot coals. Excellent value for money. There was a bit of a queue to get in here, 10 mins max, but it was definitely worth the wait. The staff are very friendly, they speak English and were very sound. Toilets were a bit mank though, but understandable given the fact that it's an all you can eat buffet. Will be coming here for dinner again in the future, thanks for a lovely meal folks!

We had 2 great meals here, first with a group of 4, then again with a group of 8. We raved about the quality of the fresh fish and seafood and the simple yet delicious preparation so much our friends insisted on going back the next night. We were not disappointed! The staff took time to explain the menu and wine list and make excellent recommendations. The prices were reasonable the wine a bargain. Highly recommended and only steps from our hotel (My Story Rossio, also recommended).

Siamo andati 2 sere, la prima, non conoscendo, abbiamo preso 1 antipastio di polpo, ed 1 zuppa di verdure, a seguire salmone e orata, porzione abbondante, infatti non siamo riusciti a finire... La seconda sera abbiamo ordinato una zuppa di pesce, ci hanno comunque portato una entrée di polpo e salse di pesce, anche perché i tempi di attesa sono sinceri con una preparazione ad personam. Vino bianco, 1 boccia, e acqua la prima volta, la seconda sangria 1 lt e acqua, cicchetti e conto 72 e 73 euro! Servizio impeccabile, qualità ottima, da non perdere!

Eu achei lindo o lugar, porém o prato que pedi deixou muito a desejar.
As batatas estavam tão pretas que parecia que foram assadas no ano passado.
Além do sabor estar adocicado, pois as batatas têm amido e quando congeladas, o amido vira açúcar.
Isso faz com que, o bom conhecedor de batatas assadas, como eu, não volta mais.

La location è molto carina in quanto molto caratteristica. Sinceramente però, a parte i prezzi decisamente alti rispetto alla media, non mi sono sentita a mio agio. Minha ida neste restaurante foi uma experiência maravilhosa, onde o local e o cardápio são muito tradicionais da cultura portuguesa. O ambiente era lindíssimo e todo decorado em azulejos portugueses, o atendimento foi impecável a comida estava muito gostosa e bem servida. Pedi o prato de bacalhau e polvo na brasa para duas pessoas que além de delicioso, tinha um preço ótimo, para acompanhar, tomei vinho verde. Posso dizer que foi meu restaurante preferido em Lisboa.

Un personnel de service incompétent voir inexistant, ici il faut tout demander avec insistance, on ne vous propose même pas la carte des desserts, on s'adresse à vous dans le genre "deux cafés" et quand on demande à voir un responsable tellement l'exaspération est à son comble on vous envoie une "gamine" de service pour prendre vous plaintes, sans oublier que les plats que l'on vous sert sont minables et de piètre qualité, reste l'intérieur de la salle qui rappelle d'autres temps où on y mangeait très bien, bref à éviter absolument, piège à touristes

Belle déco et des plats typiques aux prix corrects pour les touristes que nous sommes : 17€ le poulpe lagareiro par exemple.
Nous avons dégusté un excellent plat de bacalhau et polvo (morue et poulpe entier) à 32€ pour 2 personnes. Vinho verde 16€ la bouteille, jambon iberico délicieux, soupe de poisson très bonne également.
Le personnel est très froid, limite désagréable, mais on a l'habitude, on est parisiens.

В Лисабоне после 18 очень трудно найти столик без предварительного заказа. После нескольких отказов мы зашли в Leao d'Ouro, где тоже был забит весь зал, несмотря на это, нам нашли место, приняли с удовольствием и накормили очень вкусно.

Le service est soigné et attentif aux demandes des clients. La carte des desserts est également variée. Le cadre est très agréable, idéal pour un repas à deux ou en petit groupe.

Service très lent . La serveuse nous a ignoré pendant toute notre dîner . Quand elle est venue nous encaisser nous n avions pas eu un merci ni un au revoir . C est cher et pas bon .!
Il y a mieux ailleurs .Allez plutôt du quartier de bairro alto où il y a de très bons restaurants locaux et très bon rapport qualité prix .

There's a bit of confusion in the reviews here. There are actually two restaurants at this location--the "Leão d'Ouro," a traditional a la carte place, and, next door, the "Leão Buffet," an inexpensive and casual all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant. I presume they're both under the same management.
I'm reviewing the buffet side.
My buffet this night was £7.90--including a decent salad bar, a choice of two soups, and a hot buffet (including a modest carvery). Everything I tried was decent, and much of it was very good. Drinks and desserts are extra, but reasonable. The atmosphere was casual and a bit chaotic, but it was certainly an efficient and inexpensive route for supper. I emerged stuffed to the gills in less than an hour, for a shade over £10 including a pint of beer. The staff were understandably a bit harried, but generally perfectly pleasant.
You may have to stand in line for a table, but turnover is reasonably brisk. If you break into groups of two or three, you'll be seated faster. The main rush seems to be 7:30-8:00 pm.
The five stars represents decent and plentiful local fare at a great price. I'd be very surprised if there were a better value in the heart of old Lisbon.

Шведский стол. Подходы не ограничиваются. За 8 евро наедитесь на весь день. Простая еда. Если надо быстро поесть. Напитки отдельно оплачиваются. Всегда мясо на гриле, тушеное мясо, рыба - качество хорошее. Суп. Нарезанные овощи, есть салаты какие то (мне не пошли). Вечером много народу (поэтому бывает грязновато в зале и в туалете), стоит очередь. Официанты дружелюбные, работают быстро.

The food itself was amazing 10/10. However, the service wasn’t the most friendly and the price isn’t too cheap either. But if you’re looking for a fancier restaurant and have no worries about the price, I’d definitely recommend :)

The food was good, decent portions for the price. The service was terrible. The waitress clearly did not want to be there, our table never got cleared and we had to ask twice for our bill. Also the bathroom was not kept up, one stall did not close the other would not flush and one sink was broken. Would not recommend.

Eat healthy, eat abundant, eat for little money. Great service, instantly filled plates and a lot to choose from. Eat all you want. Just do not stay longer then 3 hours straight, that is the only condition. The freshly made meat is delicious too. You can have soup as well. Definitely worth coming back several times if you dare to try everything.

Very poor customer service, I waited at the door, alone for 25 minutes only to be told that there was no place in a very rude manner since they won't waste a table for one person on a week night.

The majority of the “hot” food was luke warm to nearly cold. It’s really chaotic and the waiters seem a bit stressed out. I placed my cutlery down on a small plate to go get more food, whilst gone the waiter removed both the small plate which I was using for bones and other items I didn’t like plus in doing so he whisked away my cutlery too!! Returned with second plate of food but until I got the cutlery replaced I had to sit patiently trying to get our waiter’s attention whilst my luke warm food got colder. My teenage son only ate chips as the meat wasn’t lean enough for his liking - he did try some of it but very slimy and too much fat. I think if you’re not too fussy and I’d say the lunch deal is probably better value for money. With 2 waters and evening buffet, we paid €20.70... not bad you might say but in context as son is fussy, it’s a lot of money for 2 plates of nearly cold fries and the food I had I didn’t once think Mmmm!! I wouldn’t return is my conclusion. We far better and as cheap place to eat night before - amazing portions and quality food!

Relación calidad precio baja, muy caro si lo comparamos con los precios de muchos de los restaurantesnde la zona, el plato más barato cuesta 16€ y el siguiente asciende ya al rededor de los 20€, mientra que la calidad del productoes apenas superior. No repetiría, al menos no con mi capacidad adquisitiva actual.

Ristorante tipico portoghese, si mangia un ottimo baccalà, personale molto cordiale e disponibile, il locale è caretteristico adornato con gli azulejos che sono le ceramiche blu tipiche di Lisbona.
