Der Fisch war stark überkocht, zudem wir über 20 min gewartet haben bis unsere erste Bestellung angenommen wurde. Es kam nur die Hälfte unserer bestellten Vorspeisen an, trotzdem war bis auf eine Bedienung jeder Angestellte in diesem Restaurant nett und höflich.
Für uns war der Besuch in diesem Restaurant, trotz guter Bewertungen eher negativ belastet. Ich hoffe wir haben nur einen schlechten Tag erwischt, welcher für uns jedoch sehr enttäuschend war.

Es war wie in allen gut besuchten Häusern zwar sehr laut, doch einen so auf den Punkt gegrillten Tintenfisch haben wir noch nie gegessen. Zusätzlich großer Vorteil ist ein deutsch sprechender Kellner. Ein Besuch lohnt sich.

Be sure to make reservations to surely try delicious seafood. The arroz seafood dish was plenty between my wife and I and ordered multiple starters to taste different types. Highly recommend!

I went to this restaurant at the end of December for a Romantic dinner, and all went perfectly. I choose this place especially for the good reviews wrote about the fresh fish and like Sardinian extremely spoiled about fish cooking, I can absolutely suggest Mar ao Carmo. Starting from the appetizers with a dish of carpaccio octopus and a cutting board of Aged Pata Negra ham with aged cheese accompanied by very good wine, continuing with Carabineros after two marvellous dishes of Polvo and Bacalhau à lagàreiro, to finish with two exquisite sweet and two glasses of aged Aguardente, everything was delicious.
Obviously, to not forget the perfect service from the waiters.
I'll come back certainly!

배고파서 숙소앞 레스토랑엘 들어갔는데 기대 이상으로 너무 맛있게 먹었습니다. 구글 평점 4점 이상이면 믿고 먹어도 된다는데 동의. 문어요리와 감바스알아히요를 먹었는데 둘 다 엄청 싱싱하고 식감이 좋았습니다. 식전빵은 안먹겠다고 했는데, 그냥 요금지불하고 먹을걸 후회했습니다. 직원 분들도 너무 친절합니다. 다시 리스본엘 가도 또 들리고 싶습니다.

Nice seafood spot. we had great service from Sergio i believe. The grilled fish platter was amazing. Cold platter not so much, it says it includes rock crab but only gives half. Not much value in that platter not worth the price. Will be returning for sure to try other things.

Went last night food was amazing the service not so much. We had a waiter who upon us seating down he hurried us to order drinks and obviously impatient when we wound take his wine suggestion as we don't really know Portuguese wines but always hesitant when one suggests the most expensive one in the menu.
When we were done eating we didn't want any dessert so we said we will have the bill after. He hurriedly took the plates, and the wine bottle with wine stil enough for 2 glasses.
We were just appalled that he just took the wine without asking if we were done. He also took the wine back so he knows it's not empty. I didn't even say anything just felt scammed.

Muy recomendable para comer o cenar. Es mejor hacer reserva para asegurar tener mesa. Esta noche hemos ido 4 personas y hemos pedido gambas del algarve, buey de mar y gambones tigre. Albariño y pastel de manzana. Todo muy bueno y por 120 euros. Muy recomendable.

Très bon restaurant dans un joli cadre. Service impeccable malgré quelques petits soucis dans la commande, tout a été réglé avec beaucoup de professionnalisme. Respect du client et gentillesse. Penser à goûter leurs vinho verde, c est une jolie découverte.

Днём прогуливаясь по Лиссабону зашёл сделать резерв на вечер. Увидел на витрине трубач, стало ясно ужинаю здесь. Один из лучших по морепродуктами. Очень вкусно. Правда трубач отдельно заказать нельзя, входит в огромный набор за 120 евро. Не смогли весь осилить. Но супер вкусно.

Nous avons trouvé ça très bon. Avec un large choix de poissons et fruits de mer frais . Les personnes qui nous ont servi étaient super !
Je tiens à préciser que l’eau n’est pas du tout à 13 euros . C’est la TVA nous avons pris deux bouteilles d’eau pétillante cela nous a coûté 3 euros .

Food was extremely over cooked and it took forever for it to arrive. We ordered the seafood plate for two and nothing on it was edible other than the vegetables. Do not recommend... on a 3 week trip This was definitely our worst meal.

Après avoir oublié notre entrée et s’etre trompé dans ma commande de plat, mon copain mangeât son poulpe qui était succulent (jamais mangé d’aussi bon, il vaut vraiment le détour) sans moi dans l’attente de mon plat qui du être entièrement refait. Malgré cela les plats sont bons et copieux. Faite attention à l’eau à 13€ cependant.

Excellent sea food in a great spot. Had lunch outside in the pleasant square. The menu is a decent size, with lots of good sea food choices. Service was prompt and kind, and the food was quite good. Definitely recommend for some tasty sea food.

Très bon restaurant. Le poulpe est une tuerie. Parfaitement cuisiné. Les palourdes sont cuites dans une petite sauce parfumé. N'oubliez pas le vino verde. Tout est juste parfait du service aux plats.

I ate a loaf of bread with mold, which I immediately returned to the kitchen. The octopus was disgusting. No commercial gesture on their part. I strongly advise you not to come here.

Minha última ida no restaurante mar do Carmo não foi muito agradável! Fui muito bem atendida, de entrada pedi um carpaccio de polvo que estava muito bom. Agora é que vêm aparte desagradável Eu pedi um grelhada mista de peixes acompanhada com saladas e batatas muito bem temporada o peixe no ponto, más à surpresa foi encontrar cabelos na salada 2 fios enormes de cabelos .Resumindo preocupação com higiene zero ou facultou vigilância sanitária uma toca na cabeça, paguei 32.00 euro

Uno splendido pranzo a base di pesce, in un locale tranquillo, con un servizio molto cortese. Abbiamo scelto il piatto di pesce misto "Grelhada marisco" per due persone, da 110 euro, e lo abbiamo trovato perfetto. Un ottimo assortimento, con prodotti di assoluta qualità, senza essere eccessivo nella quantità (come invece spesso succede con questi piatti con molte varietà). Non si paga neppure il coperto.

Oui oui oui ! Trois jours que nous sommes a Lisbonne a tenter des restos "typiques", résultat on paie 45 euros un plat et une bière dans des cantines scolaires où sert du poissons surgelés. Ce soir, on demande a TripAdvisor de nous trouver un bon restaurant et youpi, le Mar ao Carmo , 40 euros pour un plat de poissons frais grillés (pour deux), un vin blanc correct, un dessert agréable. la déco moderne et sympa ne fait pas "authentique", elle fait établissement sérieux, posé. La cuisine et le personnel sont au diapason, demain soir on y retourne pour tenter le poulpe qui, selon les avis que nous avons lu, tient la route.

Entrato per caso con mia moglie ho trovato il migliore ristorante di Lisbona. Ambiente elegante, servizio impeccabile, gentile e veloce. Un prezzo modesto rispetto alla qualità e al servizio. ( euro 56 per 2 persone con 2 piatti di pesce, bottiglia di vino e dolce) Consiglio questo ristorante ove si mangia con i un prezzo quasi uguale a quello di una modesta trattoria, ma con una qualità da ristorante di prima qualità. Mi dispiace solo dì averlo trovato l ultimo giorno e di potere tornare.Complimenti allo chef e al gestore. Massimiliano

We arrived arrived and got the table at the window which was to small being tall. They wre kind enough to change tables. But when it came to service it was a let down. The lady server did say take your time but we weren't sure about the menu so we needed abit more advice on what was good or popular on the menu. The young boy who had taken our order on our wine was very friendly and professional but disappeared after given us a bottle of wine. We had finished our bottle after our starter and was expecting someone to come over to offer another bottle but we were waiting until our meal had ended and still no one offered. As it was my partners birthday which they were aware of we would of liked abit of fuss as it was not busy but they were busy doing other things. Beside the service hats off to the chef the food was fantastic i had the octopus which was the best I ever had soft and creamy. My partner had seafood Cataplana which was beautiful, for starters we had prawns again beautiful and fresh but abit too much oil in the plate but that could just be the way the serve it be careful they forget to tell you the plates are extremely hot. We didn't bother with desserts but towards the end the lady server did give us a small slice if choc cake as a happy birthday gesture but unfortunately our experience was already dampened by the service which is a shame as the food is great. I feel like I'm having a moan but we would have spent double the money if we had the service. When it came to the bill the lady server basically asked how we would like to pay the tip as the service was not included ( really) ?

Unpleasant experience with this restaurant, we made a reservation and arrived there on time. The waiter showed us dismissively our table from far away and completely ignored us. The table was kind of bad, at the entrace - it was early and the restaurant was empty. We felt unwelcomed and we left. I guess they are succesful and don’t care anymore about customer service.

Wir waren dort auf Empfehlung.
Es war wunderbar! Wir hatten eine Schalentierplatte für zwei. Diverse Meereschnecken, diverse Muscheln, diverse Krabben, Austern. Der Ober hat uns erstklassig beraten. Auch bei der Weinauswahl war er kompetent behilflich. Rundum, es war ein wundervolles Essen an einem schönen Ort.
Sollten wir wieder ein mal nach Lissabon kommen, hier gehen wir hin.

Excellent du début à la fin. Le poulpe succulent très bien cuit avec un mystère : comment peut-il être aussi tendre. Service sympathique et effort indéniable pour nous parler en français. Dessert très bon. Rapport qualité prix très correct. A conseiller fortement.

Excellent restaurant ! Le poisson est d'une qualité et d'une fraicheur incroyables ! Les plats étaient succulents et le service rapide et attentionnés. Mention spéciale pourle carpaccio de poulpe, un pur délice ! Les vins et les desserts sont très bons également. Nous avons mangé dans ce restaurant à 2 reprises lors de notre séjour à Lisbonne, tant les autres restaurants étaient médiocres. Je recommande vivement :-)

Menu has a lot to offer, on first sight hard to decide....
But believe me: everything you choose will be a good decision!
We had one of the plates for two: the size is big, the fish is very fresh and it tastes totally delicious
Book a table and you wont be disappointed
P.S. prices (full menu for 60€ for two wirh water and wine) are only a bit higher than average in lisboa (way below global average tho), but food is waaaay above average and therefore definitely worth its price

맛있어요! 감바스랑 문어구이, 셰프의샐러드 시켰는데 다 맛있었어요. 문어는 조금 짠데 밑에 깔려나오는 야채랑 감자랑 먹으면 괜찮아요. 빵은 달라고 말하니까 줬는데 가격이 포함 안된게 무료인것 같아요.

Delicious fish dinner at a cute Portuguese restaurant. Josuel was our waiter who was excellent. He gave us recommendations on what to order/ wines to pair our dinner with and was very attentive to us the entire night. It’s a must if you’re in Lisbon and love fresh seafood! Doesn’t get any fresher than this!

Un ristorante scoperto per caso durante una passeggiata serale nei pressi del convento do Carmo, il locale dispone di sala interna e tavoli all'aperto. Abbiamo optato per questi ultimi, senza prenotazione abbiamo atteso cinque minuti per un tavolo per due. Abbiamo preso due antipasti ( cozze e polpo) e arroz marisco, un calice di vino bianco e per finire in bellezza Ginjihna e Beirao. I piatti oltre che belli erano abbondanti, il servizio impeccabile, con i tempi giusti. Consigliatissimo.

Food is wonderful however I was dining alone outside and a man begging for some spare change did not want to leave me alone and I felt very uncomfortable. I looked around and a server was fixing the tables at the back and was not able to see I was being pushed to give some change. I was still eating and to make the man leave, I told him to at least let me finish.
The man came back for a second time while I was close to finishing. One of the servers was just behind me the this time but did not do or say anything to make the man leave. After that incident I was not able to enjoy my dining experience anymore as I was always checking if the man would be back again.
I hope next time the servers would not condone such acts within the restaurant premises and they should look out for their customers much better especially those who are by themselves and just wants some peace and to enjoy their dinner.

Excellent poulpe grillé, tendre (j’aimerais savoir comment ils font) et parfaitement cuit. Le gâteau au chocolat est aussi parfait. Terrasse très agréable.

WOW!!! Great food !!!! Had the Grehalda de Marisco!!!! All the seafood served tasted good and fresh tasting.
Special mention to the Polvo a Lagareiro... super tender and tasty Grilled Octopus.
Kudos to Eber... our food server for describing the food very well as we ordered.
Would love to come back....

The service was not perfect, food was not so bad. We order oysters. They brought oysters on broken plate what had a hole. all water after time was on table. Iam not recommend this place.
You pay money for the service what you will not have. Just simple thing we ordered water and waited around 15 min.

La experiencia fue muy buena para cerrar nuestra última noche en Lisboa.
Cenamos yo y mi pareja de primero unas ostras que estaban frescas y muy buenas y un arroz mar ou Carmo buenissimo y para acabar un mousse de chocolate.
Calidad precio muy bueno y el servicio igual el chico que nos atendió atento y muy amable 100% recomendable.

Tres belle expérience.
Nous avions envie de poisson et nous n'avons nullement regretté d'avoir poussé la porte.
Les serveurs sont très sympas et serviables.
La salle est agréable assez sombre et intimiste pour voir ce qu'on mange aussi à la lueur de l'aquarium.
Les plats étaient succulents pour une addition très correcte.
Je recommande vivement ce restaurant qui m'a fait découvrir une cataplana de poissons

The food was really really nice but the waiter didn't like us ordering only one entrance and one main course (we were 2 people)... So we ordered an other entrance ; brazed tuna 8 euros. When the plates arrived it was too much food for us...(that's why we didn't wanted 2 main courses). So we told the waiter and he said he was really sorry... When we got the bill it said; tuna with blablabla 18 euros!! We told him that wasn't what we ordered...and he said that was the brazed tuna... I asked him for de menu (carta) in many languages and he pretended not to understand me... So we just paid... When we got to the entrnent we checked the menu on the wall and there it was; brazed tuna 8 euros.
It's a pity that so good restaurant with nice terrace and food does these things to the tourists.

Прочитала об этом месте в интернете и рада была, что сходила. Не смотря на то, что была куча народу то чувствовала я себя как единственная вип-клиентка! Супер обслуживание. Еда вкусная и за нормальную цену. Все объясняют и не торопятся когда общаются с тобой. Я осталась в восторге! Устрицы по 2.5 за штуку. Порции большие. Зелёное вино вкусные всего.

Todo muy correcto, por fin un restaurante con buen precio y buena atención. Recomendado el pulpo y también las gambas al ajillo, ambos con un sabor totalmente diferencial. De postre muy rico el pudding si te gusta la naranja. En días y épocas de mucho turismo hay que ir con tiempo pues a veces toca esperar entre platos.

Schönes Ambiente auf dem Platz, leider etwas Lärm der angrenzenden Straße. Der Aperol Spritz, den wir als Aperitif hatten, war so umfangreich, dass wir nicht mehr zum Wein gekommen sind. Top Preis Leistung. Der Fisch war sehr lecker und auf den Punkt gegrillt, leider war die Sardine entgegen meiner Vermutung nicht ausgenommen. Also aufpassen .

Excelente experiência! Localização , ambiente, opção de mesas externas e internas , todas ótimas (0ptamos ficar na área externa). Serviço muito bom e atencioso. Pratos bem recomendados excelentes. Na sobremesa, torta de maçã com vinho moscatel rosé, tudo maravilhoso.

Muy buen restaurante/marisquería situado en Chiado, en Largo do Carmo, en la plaza frente al convento da carmo. Romántico, silencioso y bonito. Al entrar te encuentras con una piscina de mariscos y los pescados frescos del día expuestos. Servicio atento. Muy buena calidad/precio. Cantidades bastante grandes y pan muy rico.

Very good restaurant specialised in fish and seafood. The seabass we had with grilled vegetables was real delight! Good choice of wine. Service is provided by professionel waiters and waitresses. Probably the best restaurant around Largo do Carmo. Highly recommended. Reservation recommended!

Located in the very touristic hairdo alto however on a bit more quiet place. The terrace is quiet small with only a few table so it's better to book as this is where you want to sit.
The food is classic but good and generous portions.
The staff is very attentive.

Privileged location in the so famous and charming CARMO SQUARE (Largo do Carmo) and with a nice terrace looking to the Convent. Anyway, from a restaurant we expect more than that and at the end is the food quality and service that make us feel good, or not about the place.
The Mar ao Carmo is one of these places that combines the good location and the not so good experience at the end of the meal. The inconsistency of the food quality and confusing service tends to be consistent after a few visits. It's a shame but I always prefer to think that when returning I'll be lucky! The last time I was positively surprised at the very end of the meal when dessert arrived. The superb chocolate mousse (see picture) made me forget the terrible shrimps selected as starter. Not understandable knowing the place should stand out for the seafood which is supposed to be their "flagship".

Fresh fish and absolutely amazing service. We were two people and had the big platter for 110€. We did not regret this decision at all! Stunned by the service, our waiter was there for us before we even thought it. Will definitely visit again.

Could tell every dish had fresh ingredients, from the veggies to the seafood. Service was professional and all recommendations were spot on. Had the octopus salad, prawns (which were outstanding) and Iberian ham (we would pass on this next time) for appetizers, cod and veal (cooked on granite slab, very unique experience) for our mains and chocolate cake for dessert. All were great, and prices were reasonable.

Buena recomendación. Ubicado en una buena zona, este restaurante cumplió nuestras expectativas que era probar un buen bacalao y pulpo, estaban buenísimos!. De entrantes fueron mejillones que estaban muy ricos también y vieiras que flojearon un poco. Para beber un vino verde de la zona que nos gustó mucho y de postre la típica sericaia. Además tuvimos la suerte de que nos atendió Joanna, e hizo que nuestra velada fuera aún mejor, además luego nos atendió gustosamente para hacernos un montón de recomendaciones sobre la ciudad.

Restaurante situado en la plaza frente al convento da carmo. Presencia elegante, silencioso y bien decorado. Cuando entras tienes una piscina de marisco y moluscos expuesto para los clientes.
La comida está muy sabrosa y cantidad suficiente calidad/precio. Pedimos, langostino tigre, mejillones y gambas al ajillo (para mojar pan!!).
El servicio es bastante atento y muy pendientes.

Good food! As a tourist looking for a restaurant randomly in the city center, it’s already beyond expectations. Tried bacalau and small shell fish soup, a bit heavy for dinner, but generally it’s good and nice plaza to seat outside enjoy slowly ;)
Takes an while to get service, but the staffs are all friendly and welcoming!

Service was excellent and the price was reasonable. We had the octopus salad, which was nice but not really to my liking but the seafood arroz is a MUST TRY. It is absolutely tasty! Will probably visit again just to eat that yummilicious dish!

Pedimos la mariscada mas cara para dos y nos quedamos sorprendidos de las mini patas de bebe pulpo, dos mini bogavantes, x supuesto ni carabineros ni nada. Nos soplaron 110€ , los camareros correctos hasta que no les dejamos propinas, una de ellas se puso a relatar en portugues. Soy español pero no tonto para que me tanguen asi. No volvere mas

Jamás volveré. No lo recomiendo. El cilantro enmascara cualquier sabor de la carta, pues lo echan en todos platos. La exposición de pescados me hizo entrar, pero el pez espada pudo servir para reforzar las medias suelas de mis zapatos. Bien es cierto que este último plato no me lo cobraron.

Service staff is inconsistent; the younger ones are excellent and attentive while the older members exude a false sincerity. The food is ok but you know you're in for a long night when the bread basket starter comes at the end of your meal and your drink comes mid-way through dinner and only after a gentle reminder. Lastly, the meals vary from table to table. We had a bit of a chuckle with neighbouring tables since two of us ordered the same steak order and one came with an egg and the other did not, and another table of two received one of their mains while the other person sat and waited for another 10 minutes to receive his.
