Hands down the best for South Indian food in Lisbon!! Well done guys! I was feeling home sick and remember the times my Dad would take my family to Serangoon in Singapore to have Rasam and Dosa. These guys brought back such sweet memories!! Thank you Also service was excellent when I had Ubereats app problems.. attention was given to troubleshoot and support a solution. Will order again in future Highly recommended if you want some quality South Indian food.

The owner and waiters were really friendly with me, and very patiently guided me through the menu, because I had never been to an Indian restaurant before. The chicken I had was very tasty and not so spicy, just as I requested. The place was clean and cosy. Can't recommend it enough!

Comida e ambiente bom. Dificuldade em falar português!

A entrada é discreta e passa perfeitamente despercebida.

The staff were friendly.....the food was little disappointing Onion bhajji - actually it was onion pakora, some of the pakoras we're not cooked well enough. I found some uncooked flour inside. 3 chutneys were served together coconut, tomato and mint. Coconut chutney, I felt a strange smell with it. Tomato was ok. Really the mint chutney was amazing. Rasam - for me it's a kind of water with some spices. I expected it will be served with smashed garlic and cooked with pepper. I felt it was there but the quantity was very very less and looks like they filtered and removed the garlic I don't know exactly but for that price it was not good. Nr. 50 some fish curry - again disappointing with water flavour and with semi cooked onions, fish inside was good Chapati - cooked in tandoori oven, I expected it will come out from hot tawa without oil, it was too dry Fish biryani - felt like a tomato rice, no flavour I was yesterday in kerala restaurant in lisbon I felt there the food was better than here.... As always I will make a video review on this restaurant soon and will be released in YouTube Thanks for the restaurant Reply Nothing was left - Rasam I gave back 50% and I am not reclaiming about food here much, I am saying it was Ok, because this you deserve 3 stars and Tomato Rice I can eat as well it don't deserve to go in trash because of the name Biryani. The fish curry, fish was fine and we ate but the sauce went back half as well. Because I write in my review your opponents name does not mean I am playing games, Food is my passion and I don't care who or what it is, I just say people my review and my opinion about what I think on the restaurant and food and its not against anyone. Giving tips is a basic manners in a restaurant whether the food is good or not. I dont know how it is in Portugal but here in Germany is a manner of providing atleast 10% as tips from the total amount.

A great Indian (south) restaurant we discover. All foods are very fresh and testy. Chicken 65 and Onion bhaji were perfect starter. We liked the chicken biriany and Mango Lassi.

If you are looking to try authentic indian cuisine other than the regular butter chicken and stuff this is definitely the place for you. The ambience and the service is good. It's difficult to find many of the dishes available here anywhere else in Lisbon. I would definitely go there again though. Do give the semiya payasam a try if you are looking for an Indian dessert.

Excellent restaurant to taste authentic SOUTH Indian cuisine. I highly recommend it. Coming from an Indian who lived in the south for 25 years, you now know that this is an authentic Indian restaurant.

Starters are delicious and the variety of breads is great. The mains are really under seasoned and a bit bland for my taste. But do try the purri bread, onion bhaji and samosas.

Costa Do Malabar is a unique and signature restaurant of Indian foods in the heart of Lisbon city. It has speciality in south Indian foods. The foods are absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. I went there with my family. From my little son to my old mother, including my husband not only just loved the foods, they simply enjoyed the whole ambience. The owner is very kind and friendly and the staffs are very sober. The team is maintaining the European standards in every prospect. I strongly recommend to all food lovers to visit there. Trust me. You will not be disappointed. My good wishes to team Costa Do Malabar..

A nice kerala restaurant in the heart of Lisbon where you can enjoy typical kerala dishes. I tried masala dosa and chicken samosa, both were truly delicious. The owner and staff are super friendly and it definitely adds a special charm to this place. I would definitely visit again!

Expectations for the restaurant were high as this place had been recommended by a digital nomad from Bombay who suggested it was the best Indian food in town, although we both admitted the bar was set pretty low. So on a Sunday lunch off I trotted with an English mate who had been missing a good curry to check it out - for those that aren't aware chicken tikka masala is officially the most popular dish in England, fish and chips is history, get with the program. Initial signs looked promising due to the fact even in this sleepy neighbourhood the restaurant was fairly busy. Decor was average - not that you usually go to a curry house for interior design inspiration, the place looked spick and span and the waiters were well attired. A meat samosa and onion bhaji's were ordered for a starter and also as a good indication of a restaurant's merits as they are so ubiquitous and allow for easy comparison. The bhajis were crisp, moist, well formed and came with some tasty, but not spicy side dips. The samosa was a bit dry but extremely tasty so our hopes were raised for the main courses. After quite a wait, not that we were in a rush, but long enough that the waiter came over to apologise and assure us the food was coming, out came the mains and slight disappointment raised it's ugly head. My red spinach and lentil curry was distinctly average, looking fairly attractive but tasting quite bland - it wasn't the lack of chilli but just a general lack of any distinct flavour qualities - sort of curry light. My dining parter's chicken tikka masala was also just average and rated by my curry savvy partner as a 6/10, I didn't disagree - maybe a 6.5. Basmati rice was shared and good and the traditional flat, fried bread was great and perfect for mopping up the juices. A Cobra beer and a couple of Sagres' washed down the food and brought the bill to €30 for two. Were we dissatisfied? No. Were we over the moon and scheduling our next visit? No. Would I pop in if I was in the neighbourhood and was peckish? Maybe.

Had an excellent Masala dosa and the chutneys served along were very nice. Was stranded in Lisbon due to the pandemic situation and was craving for home food. That exactly what we got, Home food! Glad we could meet the very passionate owners. Thank you Sunil and Simi!

Tudo (TUDO) super bom. Muito cuidado e bem embalado. Até o paparis chegou quente. Se houvesse mais estrelas, mais estrelas daria.

Costa do Malabar is my favourite Indian restaurant in Lisbon. Here, you won't find your typical chicken tikka masala, instead you will find authentic South Indian dishes that will surprise you! The food is delicious and the staff is amazing, always looking for customers' feedback. It is a must for anyone who loves Indian food and wants to try new flavours.

Costa do Malabar is a local South Indian restaurant, close to Mercado de Arroios. As a regular client for the past 4 years, I must say the food is amazing and quite different from all Indian restaurants here in Lisboa. Their staff and business owner, are always attentive to their clients well being and remarks, and they make a great effort into bringing real south indian cuisine into every dish. Tasty, cozy ambience, friendly staff and renovated space. A must go to every local and tourist cruising around the coolest neighbourhood in Lisbon, Arroios.

Quality Indian food, with authentic taste. The quantity of the appetizers is less but is compensated in the main course. The place has a vast range of dishes, each with a different taste. Their mango lassi is definitely worth trying. The staff is lovely and the service is quick. The place doesn't look great from outside but is definitely worth a visit.

Must visit for lovers of Keralite cuisine During travel opinion fir lunch and dinner is limited to Punjabi cuisine especially for vegetarians. This place gives you good options of Keralite type of cuisine. Liked the Ambience though a small neat place to dine. Staff is extra nice and goes out of way to satisfy your whims. Taste of dishes I tasted was awesome especially pyasam.

What an excellent meal! We had a great lunch at Costa do Malabar. The service was attentive and the food was incredible. The restaurant serves cuisine from southern India. It is spicy and full flavored. There are some vegetarian options but we stuck with mostly chicken dishes. We started with Magalorean fried chicken and Chicken 65. Both were really tasty and the portions were good for the price. The Tikka Masala and Chilling Chicken were also very good. I can’t wait to come back and try a a biriyani.

A must place for tourists and locals alike. Vasco Da Gamma's visit to Kerala seems to have had a big impact on cuisines on both Kerala and Portugal. The fish dishes here are simply superb and so were the wines. Staff were quite friendly.

Great experience. We had traveled from Sweden to Lisbon during this summer and came to know about this authentic Kerala restaurant from google. Me and my wife was so excited to visit this restaurant. Since we are from Malabar, we definitely wanted to try this restaurant. Food was so good, I appreciate each and everyone (especially Tinto and Kuttan) in the restaurant to host us with the delicious food. Thanks to Sunil, owner of this restaurant for serving us with authentic Kerala fish fry and helping us to know a bit more about Lisbon. I highly recommend everyone to try this restaurant. If you are in Lisbon and wanting to try out south Indian cuisine, do give it a try!

Being mostly on the road means it's important to find food sanctuaries. Food isn't just taste, but also health (freshness) and energy (the community behind) and this place checks out on all 3! I have eaten everything vegetarian on the menu in the last week and come back literally each and every day. Support the amazing chefs, staff (singers) in the longest running south Indian restaurant in Portugal.

This is one of the best Indian places I've been. The food is great and tasty and the portions are really good. The menu is not the typical one of an Indian restaurant which, in this case, is great because you have new stuff to try. The staff was nice and friendly. It's not easy to find a parking space but you can use public transportation.
