Raul and I are from Vancouver, Canada and we celebrated our wedding in Sintra, Portugal. Working with Rui was incredibly smooth from start to finish. During our first Skype meeting, even before we had decided to book his services, he offered help and recommendations for a number of vendors as he knew we were organizing the entire wedding on our own, remotely. I can't say enough wonderful things about Rui and our experience with GoldenDays Photography! My husband and I live in Southern California and we decided to get married in the small town of Sintra, about 30 minutes outside of Lisbon. I luckily found Rui through my online researching because he had photographed a wedding at a venue we were checking out. I knew immediately that he was our guy! If you check out his website it's obvious how talented he is, his work speaks for itself, but when you get the pleasure of meeting him, it's so much more than that! Rui went above and beyond for us! We got to know him on a personal level and I can honestly say he brings out the best in everyone he photographs. His kind, gentle demeanor is so helpful to have around, especially on a busy, high energy day like your wedding. We also had Joel, from DaPalma Films do our wedding video and I must say, the two of them together are the most talented, unforgettable duo I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Rui is the best photographer you could ask for. His style is exactly what we wanted. He took portraits, as well as details and the venue. He made us feel comfortable and was very communicative during the planning process which made the wedding planning much easier. Shortly after the wedding, we received a small sneak peek and we were so excited to get the full gallery. He delivered the full gallery, within the two months, as promised. Flying him out was the best decision we made because the quality of his work has been talked about by our friends, even months after our wedding. Some of our friends and family told us to have another wedding after seeing the photos! That’s how much he captures emotions. Some of our favorite shots included the details and venue, black and white portraits and candies during the dance portion. But honestly, it was so hard to narrow down our favorites because all the shots were memorable. Rui, we cannot thank you enough for giving us something to cherish and look back on for the rest of our lives.

We absolutely loved working with Rui! We had our engagement photoset and then he was a photographer during the wedding day itself. On both occasions the results where above and beyond our expectations! I was extremely nervous before the ceremony and was sure that there will be no decent prep pictures as I was not posing at all and almost not allowing Rui in the room, but somehow he managed to make beautiful memorable pictures! And then when me and my husband went for a small photoshoot on the sunset we caught this moment of calmness and blessing and Rui captured it as well. I'm very sorry we don't live in the same city, so that he can capture every important moment in our family!

Rui was the best photographer we could imagine working with for our wedding. I saw some of his documentary style photos online and reached out to him, and from there on out he made everything a breeze. He was responsive, thoughtful, and excellent with follow-up. During our wedding weekend in the Azores, his style made us and our guests very at ease, and he captured beautiful photos and moments. We were thrilled with our photos and with working with Rui. I highly recommend him without reservation.

Rui is amazing. We are from Canada and wanted to have one of our engagement photo shoots in Portugal, and came across Rui's beautiful portfolio. Communication via e-mail prior to the photoshoot was great - and the photoshoot day itself was perfect. There were even some mishaps at the venue we wanted to take pictures at, and Rui saved the day and took us to a nearby (and even more beautiful) location nearby. He guides you through the photos, and overall, tries to make you feel more relaxed. Seth and I found him very fun to work with! We highly recommend him for your wedding, or any photoshoot.
