Optimale Lage direkt am Fluss, trotz hohem Touristenaufkommen in diesem Bereich sehr ruhig. Die Ausstattung läßt so gut wie keine wünsche offen, das Personal ist bei Problemen immer hilfsbereit. Werden auf jeden Fall nochmal wiederkommen.

Beds mattresses were not confortable at all and pillows were too big in room 301, do not know about the rest. Everything else was amazing, breakfast,staff. Oh also need to be told that there’s no possibility of driving a car after certains hours. Thanks

Went there for a coffee in the morning. After waiting for 20min for someone to service me I grabbed the menu and ordered coffee. It was machine made, $3 too expensive coffee with nothing special at all.

A nice hotel. Good location but busy during the day with tourists. Beautiful river and city views. Breakfast was very good! I only stayed one night. I would prefer a quieter location if I were there for a longer length of time.

Very nice and good hotel! In the middle of the centre next to the river Douro and walkingdistance from every place that you want to see. Very good breakfast and very friendly people. We will go there for sure again!

The location is the best in Porto in my opinion, we stayed there two nights only. Staff checking in were okay, but the male staff when we check out had no personality. The line was long, he never commented on it. Never asked how the stay was or never said Good bye. It was very strange. The room was so stylish and sleek, everything was okay. The only thing I didn't like was breakfast. There were variety breads and cheese, but things that should be warmed were cold always. There were many kinds of food but noting to eat or tasty. It was very disappointing.

A must stay! You won’t want to leave! The staff is very accommodating from the moment you arrive! The location and views are amazing- book a balcony! Take a driver from the hotel -Enrique- he was great and go to various wineries! Lots of great suggestions from the hotel where to dine and shop! To the hotel....Thank you for the wonderful memories staying in this beautiful hotel !! The staff and accommodations are impeccable!! Five Stars!

Absolutely perfect stay
The hotel was absolutely perfect. From the amazing big and fully equipped room with an amazing view to the river, the very diverse and delicious breakfast all the way to the very warm and welcoming hotel staff that always has a smile on!

We love the location of the hotel. Our room has a view to the Douro river, Dom Luis I Bridge, and the square. It was so nice to see sun set and sun rise through the window. We also saw double rainbow. It was amazing.
The hotel staffs are wonderful. They go extra mile to reserve restaurant tables for us. My daughter had a 2 hour facial and massage. She really loved it. The breakfast spread was the best. So many variety of food you can choose from.
You can walk from the hotel to many places such as Sao Bento train station.
We did not like the room we had the first night as the structure of the room is very strange. It was hard to move around. I asked the desk to change the room and they were able to accommodate us. That was really nice.
The location of the hotel truly made our trip to Porto a memorable one. We love to stay at Pestana Vintage. I believe you will love it too.

Certainly worth staying here if visiting Porto. The hotel is very central and within walking distance of most everything. Upon arrival we were greeting with some glasses of Porto wine and had our luggage quickly escorted to our room. I HIGHLY encourage you to opt for a room with a balcony and facing the river. The day time and night time views are well worth it. Breakfast was included so be sure to ask about that as well. We really enjoyed it, just ask around.

The hotel is 15 minutes away from the train station and very close to the bridge and the river. Easy to access the water taxi too. We stayed for two nights and the breakfast are various from day to day. All the major attractions are walkable.

Don’t let the outside of the hotel fool you. It’s a whole different world inside. The rooms are big. Well appointed. Comfortable beds and pillows. Housekeeping top notch. Very very friendly and efficient staff. The breakfast buffet is good too. Stayed for three days and had a wonderful time. And the fact that the rooms had three balconies with full length windows that opened out to some amazing views of rthe river made it all the more amazing.

A really lovely hotel by the river front. We didn’t have a river view room but still a lovely room.
Breakfast is amazing beautiful fresh fruit, Portuguese pastries and the usual you’d expect.
Dined at the restaurant on our last night and have to say we enjoyed meals out in Porto a lot more.
Very helpful staff who seem to speak most languages between them. Keen to help.
Will be back.

Service quality was seriously disappointing here. The servers never came to clean up the tables and we were left with leftover food and bottles for 30 min. We had to walk over to the bar to order things yet nothing came for 30 min. We left without any bite or sip and no one stopped us...

Best hotel in Porto (handsdown). Wonderful staff in the best location in Ribeira, and a great breakfast spread with a personal omelette maker. Be sure to pay extra for a room with a river view as it is definitely worth it!

Es un hotel muy céntrico con unas vistas espectaculares del río y de la ciudad vecina de Gaia. El personal era muy amable y dispuesto a ayudar, las habitaciones amplias y limpias. La única nota negativa se la lleva el bar del restaurante que me pareció Excesivamente caro incluso a precios de otras ciudad. La ubicación del hotel es buena, da a una bonita plaza y un paseo que comunica con otras partes de la ciudad. Las vistas del puente de Luis son agradables, especialmente de noche.

Best view one can have of The Douro and of character buildings around from top corner bedroom. Very tasty breakfast with fresh products like mangos and papayas, typical regional cheeses, a variety of pastries and nice healthy cooked eggs your way! Friendly staff who speak and adapt perfectly to most common European languages. Splendid decoration + cosy atmosphere. Very convenient location to visit all main tourist sites of the City. Overall, all essential needs are covered perfectly. It would be difficult to be complaining about anything as everything is compiled to make one's stay enjoyable!

Wir waren für einen Kurztrip in Porto. Der erste Eindruck an der Rezeption war sehr gut. Obwohl wir noch Stunden vor der Checkin-Zeit da waren, wurde uns empfohlen noch zu frühstücken. Danach sei das Zimmer bereits beziehbar. Wir haben ungefragt ein Upgrade für ein Zimmer mit Blick auf den Douro bekommen. Das Frühstücksbüffet und Servicepersonal dort war sehr gut. Was uns nicht gefallen hat, war ein Abendessen im Hotelrestaurant. Es werden Steaks angeboten. Die Preise sind ziemlich hoch. Unsere bestellten Steaks von der Lende waren laut Servicekraft bereits um 19:30 Uhr (Öffnung ab 19 Uhr) ausverkauft. Das Restaurant war nicht ausgebucht. Wir haben dann zwei entrecote bestellt, die vom Gewicht mit am geringsten waren und auch vom Preis (18€). Die Servicekraft wollte und trotz ausdrücklichem Wunsch von uns nicht soviel Fleisch essen zu wollen und zu können jedoch die schwereren und teureren Steaks (40 €) unbedingt empfehlen. Die entrecote Stücke waren dann trotz Bestellung nicht wie gewünscht medium, sondern größtenteils roh und über ca 2/3 fettig und so sehnig, dass man sie sehr schwer schneiden konnte. Eine andere Servicekraft hat diese Anstrengungen bemerkt und uns neue Fleischstücke angeboten. Diese hätten jedoch gar nicht erst an Gäste ausgegeben werden dürfen. Es wurde zwar nur ein Steak berechnet, aber leider hatten wir gar keinen Genuss, was am letzten Abend sehr schade war. Eine Empfehlung für das Steakessen im Restaurant können wir nicht geben.

Wegen Terminkollision mussten wir unsere Buchung 6 (sechs!) Wochen vor unserem geplanten2-tägigen Aufenthalt stornieren. Leider haben wir keinen Cent zurückerhalten!!!! Wir mussten 100 % bezahlen obwohl wir dies nicht nutzen konnten!

The hotel is located on the sidewalk of the river. The locatin is a lot of tourists many restaurants street performance and generally speaking it is ebullient.
The hotel is equipped with all the luxury necessary for any normal tourist.

À priori, nous avons bénéficié d’un surclassement pour notre réservation. Hélas, la chambre qui nous a été attribuée donnait, certes, sur le fleuve, mais était surtout située au 1er étage qui correspond en fait, à un Rez de chaussée ! Des passages continuels devant notre fenêtre sur nous avons dû maintenir fermée et rideaux clos !!! De surcroît nous avions demandé un grand lit et cette chambre était équipée de deux lits ... Enfin, la literie était vraiment de très mauvaise qualité, indigne d’un hôtel qui se prétend 4 étoiles

Buscando una terraza para degustar el vino típico de la ciudad llegamos a la terraza de este hotel, las vistas son preciosas pero el precio del vino nos pareció excesivo para la cantidad que te sirven en la copa. También tomé un mojito que no me gustó nada, el peor que he tomado nunca, estaba insípido y me pareció carísimo (8€) para la calidad que tenía.

We started our tour around Northern Portugal here with 3 days. Luis, the GM, and his team made us feel so welcome and went out of their way to assist me. They organised a private space to celebrate my wife's birthday. Great local recommendations. And the location of the hotel is just fantastic. Take a room with a view!

Location wise you cant do better than this if you want want to be in the.middle of all the action. Great view of the Douro River, surrounded by a huge variety of restaurants where you can feast on fresh fish aplenty. Sit outside and watch the crowds go by, the river cruise take off, impromptu musicians or magicians perform .... it's magical.

A couple things really hurt this place. First, the price is absurdly high - like USD $450/night in mid-July. For that price, one expects a really first-class place. The Pestana Vintage is like 4-5 old waterfront buildings joined together and renovated. The rooms are *small* despite what the look like in the photos -- ours had a few feet on either side of a king bed, that's it. Plus the bathrooms are *right in the rooms* separated by glass walls/doors and a curtain ... not a ton of privacy, especially from sound. What really let me down is the fact that it is nearly impossible for Uber/drivers (non-taxis) to access the hotel directly, due to the pedestrian zone the hotel is in -- the street access closes daily at 11am (or earlier) or is sometimes cut off altogether by events. You have to walk up a pretty steep hill from the hotel to get to the next main street where (on a very congested corner, with barely room to stop or turn around) you can call an Uber or meet your driver. This is a huge let-down. Also note that while you are on the waterfront, just about *everything* on the Porto side is up *very steep hills* ... so be prepared to sweat it out or call ubers/taxis. There are also no ironing boards / irons in the room - you have to request them from reception. And finally the hotel has only moderate facilities - it's not a resort hotel by any means ... it has a small bar up front and a somewhat expensive (by Porto standards) restaurant. All in all, it's hard to say it justifies the cost. There may be better places to be found.

Este comentário vai dirigido só para o bar.
Sexta-feira de tarde, decidimos passear pela Ribeira, somos uma família com duas crianças (bebé de 7 meses e outra 5 anos). Pedimos ao emprego de mesa se podíamos tomar algo na esplanada e não foi capaz de cumprimentar...pedimos as bebidas, mas não havia uma única mesa limpa... Depois de alguns minutos trouxe as bebidas mas pousou as mesmas sem limpar a mesa(horrível).
Pedimos para limpar a mesa educadamente mas ficou ofendido... enfim... lá resolveu trazer um "pano" mal escurrido e mal cheiroso, e para não bastar limpou só medade da mesa (que é minúscula) e com ele trouxe uma magnífica conta excesivamente cara pela calidad-preço que oferecem.
Estivemos muito pouco tempo ali sentados já que haviam uns adeptos de um clube de futebol a fumarem Marijuana (junto às escadas).
Experiência decepcionante do bar, não recomendo nem volto a repetir.

Bom sítio bom STAFF .... a malta que aqui se queixa, e não só aqui em todo lado... é ridícula, triste, e são sempre os mesmos não têm onde cair e vêm armados em snobs... o café é isto o bacalhau é salgado aquilo é caro o tour é corrido... queixam se a procura de desconto e viajam não para se divertirem mas para chatear o juízo de quem é hospitaleiro....

It is located UNESCO human heritage site just next yo the river. Because that, you can bring the car only limited time (7:00am to 11:00am). You have to park in the public parking lot about 200m away. Room lighting is rather dark. Breakfast service is nice but the food quality was not that good. Overall experience is good.

Very nice service and care by the hotel staffs. Breakfast is very nice with many choices. The RIB restaurant is specially very good with steaks and wines. The bar inside the RIB is very nice with signature cocktails and the bartender is very kind and professional. The hotel staffs try their best to make your experience in Porto very nice. I could feel their efforts very well. I would stay again at Pestana Vintage Porto in the future. And the best location.

Arrived very early and front desk was able to accommodate the early check in only 1.5 hour later. The bellboy has excellent customer service skills. Was extremely friendly and willing to help with anything needed. He’s a great asset to the hotel. Hotel is situated in perfect location to see the best of Porto.

3인 이용하는방이 엑스트라베드 추가 되는거 치고 너무 좁음(한 예로 리스본에서는 트리플룸 커넥팅룸으로 제공받음), 어메니티,수건,슬리퍼 인원수대로 다시 채워지지 않음, 물 처음에 한번주고 안줌, 조식당은 메뉴가 부실함, 부페아님. 하우스키핑후 시트에 피묻어있는데 그냥 이젠 서비스에 기대안되고 다음날 체크아웃이라 말안했음.다시 이용하고싶지않음. 여기 예약가능한 비용이라면 포르투 어디든 가능할듯

We hadden een suite geboekt dit leek eerder een kelder kamer.
In douche stond schimmel in de voegen er was een heel mooi bad maar er was geen warm water en dit voor 200€ voor een nacht

We stayed here during one of the legs of our honeymoon and had a good experience. The location cant be beat, right down on the waterfront. The rooms were nicely appointed and clean. However, we found the front desk to be lacking proper customer service. Multiple times we had questions about the surrounding area, recommendations, etc, but was met each time with I dont know, I am not sure, and we were not offered much help. For a hotel centrally located and catering to visitors, we were left disappointed by this lack of service we had received everywhere else during our trip.

The hotel has a great location but I didn’t like the layout of the rooms, we enter to the room though the bathroom and is a step between the bathroom and the room, I went to the bathroom during the night and didn’t see the step and fell down, the hotel has to do something about that. Also they give you two free bottles of water per stay, a hotel of this category I believe has to give a courtesy bottle of water for their customers... the cost of a bottle of water for customer satisfaction is negligible. We ran out of toilet paper because they don’t restock when they clean the room. A “5-star” hotel should not have these complaints. This is a three star hotel at best.

We arrived to Porto when the heavy rain had caused flood in the city. The staff were very friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. Despite the heavy rain, they carried our luggage from the nearby parking to our room almost immediately. The hotel manager, Monica, is a lovely person who went above and beyond to manage the flood situation. They offered breakfast in the rooms when the flood caused the restaurant to shut down. The view from our room was breathtaking.

From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and cared for. Every staff person was friendly, kind and generous with their time and assistance. Our room was on the lobby floor and had the ancient wall as an accent. It was perfect. Stand alone tub, double shower and a very comfortable bed. Large and beautifully decorated.
The breakfast was wonderful. Friendly and courteous staff. Many choices from healthy options to pastries we had our fill and it kept us going for the day. The cappuccino was so delicious.
We can’t wait to come back and visit again, even with the storm, rain and flooding OPorto is magical and will stay with us always.

Great stay at Porto! Location: can’t ask for a better location. Right next to the river/city center and short walk to all the must see sites. The location is literally post card perfect. Room: clean, spacious, and modern. The only minor complaint is the carpet is a little outdated. Nice coffee bar in the room, housekeeping leaves chocolate as part of the down service. Food: breakfast is included and incredible! Amazing varieties, including local food and fresh to order eggs. Fresh squeezed orange juice and champagne. One of the best breakfast buffets in Europe I have been.Service: a glass of complementary port wine on arrival. My check out time was super early, and the hotel packed me a thoughtful cold breakfast to go! Value: I book the hotel during off season, the price is very reasonable for its location and all the amenities.

We had a very comfortable room at the Pestana Vintage Porto Hotel and the staff was quite helpful in answering questions that we had. The breakfast was incredible and the setting of the hotel on the river was spectacular. Our big issue was parking. The day we arrived, the Porto Marathon was being held which created chaos on the streets. We had to park 1 km from the hotel initially and then we were able to move our car to a parking garage closer to the hotel. Despite there being an agreement between the hotel and the garage, parking cost €25 for less than 24 hours. In addition, it was far enough away that we got soaked in the rain bringing our luggage back to the car. For the most part, we really liked our Pestana experience but have decided that perhaps we prefer more rural hotels at less expensive prices.

While the centuries old building has inherent limitations, they did a very good job turning it into a modern hotel from the inside. The location is unbeatable - at least if you accept that there may be noise coming from the square directly in front of the hotel.

The location of this hotel is perfect. It is right by the river in the old area. There are step hills so you need to be in shape or take it slowly. The staff is very helpful and recommended some really great tours. It is located near lots of good places to eat. The shopping is limited, but you aren’t in Porto to shop.

The rooms were lovely and we thought we were going to be in for a treat when we were greeted by really friendly staff.
However, the stay was spoilt by a sub standard breakfast experience. Cheap and nasty food, lack of quality, rude staff who couldn’t care less. When the coffee is poor grade, you know it’s not going to be good, and it wasn’t.
We also had room service which was poor quality and cold.
If they get the food service sorted out and up the quality, and this is supposed to be a 5 star hotel, then they will justify a better review.

We stayed in Pestana Vintage Porto hotel while visiting Porto, Portugal. It is located right on the Duoro river. The views are magnificent. The hotel offers a lobby bar with indoor and/or patio seating. The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated and clean. There is a complimentary breakfast each morning including an omelette station, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, fresh breads, etc. Absolutely wonderful. There is also a fully furnished bar area in the restaurant again with optional patio seating. Employees were all outstanding!! They were friendly, courteous and well informed. Would highly recommend to anyone traveling in this area.

The staff does not behave like a staff from a 5 stars hotel. I’d give it 3 stars the most. The day I’ve arrived there was no one to carry the luggage no one said hello no one cared . The staff talked to each other like they were drinking at a pub ignoring the guests. The receptionist looked stoned and told me to drive the car in a forbidden way route to the Parking lot. Huge discussion after that. Later we had dinner in the hotel “steakhouse” restaurant and got food poisoned by a burger smelling like kerosene. Bad experience but the hotel was good.

I really like Porto, a well kept historical place. This hotel is like a landmark by itself, facing the river front with colorful building. It is fully restored and expect a 5 stars room service, so as the price. The breakfast is fabulous. Very good location indeed. However, my advice is to ask for room with river front, it is definitely more expensive, but this is the selling point of this hotel.

It is a good hotel, simple but neat. Location is great for tourists but a bit noisy to sleep. Breakfast is nice and rooms are good. My air conditioning was broken and the hotel did not manage to fix it, as I slept only two nights there. When I reported the problem, at check out, they offered a 15% discount. Obviously I would prefer a good night of sleep, which I did not have, but I found the offer thoughtful.

Demos a noite de núpcias para a nossa sobrinha nesse hotel. Apesar de toda pompa e circunstância, falharam ao oferecer o pacote romântico. Na chegada dos noivos não havia nenhuma decoração especial, nem espumante. O pior foi o retorno ao reclamarmos o ocorrido: devolveram 15 euros! Se o pacote romântico custa para eles apenas isso, então não deve ser grande coisa mesmo. Sem contar que estragaram uma experiência única. A noite de núpcias dos nossos sobrinhos não irá se repetir!

Lhôtel est situé dans le centre historique de Porto au bord du Douro face aux nombreuses maison de Porto. Lemplacement est idéal pour visiter Porto. Le restaurant à une carte de viandes superbe.Le gros point négatif est son accès en voiture. Lhôtel est situé dans un endroit où la circulation est restreinte (8h-11h et 17h30-20h). Nous sommes arrivés sur place à 15h et navions pas linformation. Très difficile de joindre lhôtel par téléphone (!) qui finit par nous indiquer le parking le plus proche qui savère totalement saturé donc inaccessible. Résultat nous avons passé notre première après-midi dans les embouteillages monstres de Porto (4h!).

Wow!!! Ma fille et moi avons réservé cet hôtel pour 9 nuits...quel bonheur! On aurait pas pu choisir un endroit plus parfait que celui-là. Nous avions la chambre 226, une vue à couper le souffle sur le Douro et la ville de Gaia. Le service était impécable, tout le monde est gentil. La nourriture y est excellente. On peut tout faire à pied de cet hôtel. Je recommande fortement à ceux qui pense aller à Porto de réserver cet endroit, j'espère un jour y retourner!

Vor allem die Reception hat sich als herausragend und unglaublich zuvorkommend ausgezeichnet. Aber auch vom Frühstück waren wir sehr positiv überrascht - wir erwarteten aufgrund von Bewertungen ein gutes Frühstück, es war noch besser! Die Lage des Hotels war fantastisch. Wir hatten ein Zimmer ohne Douro-Sicht. Der Blick auf die belebte Gasse, war aber genauso spannend. Das fanden wohl auch die Menschen, welche uns gegenüber lebten. Oft sah man sie lange aus dem Fenster sehen und das Treiben beobachten, mit jemandem reden oder Tauben füttern. Man fühlte sich als Bewohner Portos. Und obwohl das Hotel inmitten einer sehr touristischen und belebten Zone liegt, störte uns keinerlei Lärm.

We had a room with a balcony overlooking the Douro river - what a fantastic view!Everyone at the hotel was very welcoming and did everything they could to accommodate any requests (e.g. kettle in the room which arrived on a tray with mugs, tea, milk etc.).As a frequent traveler I tend to rate the bed quite highly and this came into the acceptable category.Breakfast was excellent - lots of fresh produce and a nice environment.The room had a minibar which could also be used as a fridge and free wi-fi that worked well.Cleanliness was excellent.It was a hotel in the middle of the restaurant district with lots of people, around, but was still very quiet.I would definitely stay there again.

Très bel hôtel. Dans un cadre ancien, les chambres sont modernes et très bien rénovées. Le personnel est très agréable et le petit déjeuner délicieux. Seul bémol, soit votre chambre donne sur le fleuve. Soit sur l'immeuble d'en face, qui est très proche et la c'est beaucoup moins bien.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for the second half of our honeymoon. We paid extra upon arrival to upgrade to a room with a view of the river - I highly recommend this. The double Juliette balconies overlooking the river street made for amazing evenings in the hotel, listening to the live music on the streets, and watching the sunset over the Douro. The room was incredibly comfortable and well appointed. We ordered room service several times, and not only was the food high quality, moderately priced, and delicious, but all of the staff were kind and ridiculously helpful. The front desk staff offered advice on local tours, restaurants, and even helped us figure out train fares to other cities in Portugal. The other hotel we stayed at in Porto was cheaper, but this was well worth the price for such a fantastic stay.

I stayed there two weeks ago. Fab place to stay at, right at the front. Great rooms, very clean, great service, excellent choice for breakfast. Can't fault this place really.

Maravilhosamente bem situado. Instalações nada de extraordinário, mas bem cuidadas. Funcionários atenciosos. Serviço de bar....péssimo. Gin tónico caro e nada bem elaborado, chá de limão.....apenas água, mesas muito sujas e só limpas depois de avisar o funcionário.

The hotel comprises three very old houses (World Heritage Quality) upgraded to the 21st century. Modern facilities, nice breakfast, walking distance to a funicular up to the main city. Portuguese TV is mostly subtitled, so many channels have English-language programs.

Es una estafa apenas 10cl de Oporto por 10€ cuando la botella cuesta menos de 30€ . Las vistas son gratis a menos de 5 metros y en el bar de al lado el servicio es más agradable y el precio más justo con una decoración más moderna y cuidad que la terraza de este hotel que presume ser de los top / must de Oporto.

Views are great and staff are super helpful & friendly but it's in a very touristy spot and quite a walk to the more happening parts of town. It appears a bit dated and worn - the city abounds with much better-designed and contemporary options.

Es un hotel que ha unido varias antiguas edificaciones frente al Duero. Recomendable coger habitación hacia el Duero, las que dan a la calle de atrás tienen vista a los balcones tendederos de los vecinos. Esta en pleno centro del casco histórico y esta zona esta muy envejecida y abandonada. Por lo que o miras al duro o miras a otro edificio que se esta cayendo de viejo con la ropa interior colgada en el balcón.

Hotel nad samą rzeką w centrum turystycznym. Ładne pokoje, parking podziemny na sąsiedniej ulicy ale dosyć drogi 42 euro za 2 noce. Duże kolejki do śniadania.

The location is excellent, right on the river, get a river view room (503 is on the corner with a great river view and is more of a suite). Staff were excellent and very friendly, nothing too much trouble. Very good value for money, even the bar prices very reasonable.

Das Hotel liegt mitten im grossen Trubel am Douro, bietet daher eine ideale Ausgangslage für die Entdeckung der schönen Stadt Porto. Service und Personal sind tadellos.In der Nacht ist es entsprechend der Lage etwas laut.

We have been to Porto several times while visiting Portugal. Pestana Porto was recommended by friends - so I booked without doing my normal research. We were thrilled with the fabulous location and great view from our window. Our only disappointment was that we were only booked for one short night (checked in at 5pm and had a 6am flight to catch in the morning). Our room was in the new section with views looking across the Douro to all the iconic Port Cellars. Great restaurants and bars at our door step. The opening sound proof windows and sitting area were all part of making our last night in Portugal memorable.

The hotel had no record of our booking, but gave us a room while they looked into it. We had no problems thereafter and enjoyed the room, the view, and the hotel amenities. We would definitely stay there again.

I was particulary impressed by the helpfulness of the staff - always ready to research/book activities and give advice. I would recommend that visitors go for the more expensive rooms giving a view onto the river - you really feel at the centre of things. The downside for some is that these rooms are noisier because of the large number of people strolling outside along the quays,visiting the cafes and shops in this heart of the tourist area in Porto. I was OK with this as I spent every evening outside the hotel, trying out Portos range of restaurants. If yiu want a quieter room, go for those at the back of the hotel, looking out onto a narrow and less busy street.

Wir waren im 2013 mit dem Motorrad unterwegs und übernachten 3 mal. Das Hotel, obwohl sehr zentral, schnell erreichbar (mit Navi). Das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit um einen Parkplatz zu finden, was nicht ganz einfach war.
Zimmer sehr schön und sauber. Tolle Aussicht auf den Rio Douro (unbedingt beim buchen berücksichtigen). Das Gebäude ist toll renoviert ohne die Geschichte dieses Gebäudes zu vergessen.
Morgenessen sehr reichhaltig auf historischer Mauer.
Das Pestana ist ein Hotel das ich jederzeit wieder buchen werde auch wenn nicht ganz günstig.

Detta är ett bra hotell men tyvärr hade man satt upp en byggnadsställning inklädd i presenning runt hela huset när vi var där. Den fina utsikten - som vi hade betalat extra för - hade vi ju då ingen glädje av. På morgonen när vi vaknade stod tre män på utsidan av våra fönster på femte våningen och målade fönster och balkongräcke och stirrade rätt in i rummet! De gjorde ju bara sitt jobb och var rätt generade över att behöva stirra rätt in på oss men hur man kan hyra ut rummet samtidigt som man renoverar det och till fullt pris är helt obegripligt. Tyder på att man från hotellets sida struntar fullständigt i gästerna!! Vi framförde naturligtvis våra klagomål till receptionen men de brydde sig inte. Den attityden mot gästen gör att man tänker sig för innan man bokar detta hotell igen.

Hôtel très confortable et idéalement situé directement sur la place de Ribeira et vue sur le Douro. Possibilité de trouver plusieurs restaurants à proximité de lhôtel mais aussi à lécart pour un peu plus de calme. Panorama extraordinaire des deux côtés de la rive, passage par le pont Luis à pieds soit par le bas ou bien par le haut.Points de vue magique surtout en fin de journée.En face de lhôtel réservation pour city tours et promenade sur le fleuve. Petit déjeuné très bien, bon service, discret et efficace.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pestana. Location was perfect, right on the river with a great view of the bridge from our room. Breakfast had a good variety of foods, all staffer came across were friendly and the hotel was well looked after. Our only negative point was that we were woken up by builders early in the morning as they are renovating the building next door. This made the room a little less comfortable but no other complaints.

Had a short holiday with friends. The hotel has a lovely location by the River Douro and serves a good buffet breakfast. We found all the staff to be most helpful, knowledgeable, efficient, friendly and most all spoke English. Situated accross the river are all the most famous port wine producers who offer river cruise trips and tours of their cellars, and free tastings! There were six of us on the holiday and are unanimous in our opinion that this is a great hotel to stay at.

Ett bra läge på hotellet längs kajen med kaféer och restauranger. Fin utsikt mot portvinshusen i Gaia på andra sidan Douro. Bekväma sängar. Lite störande från underhållningen längs kajen, men vi sov gott ändå. Fint bemötande från personalen, som var mycket serviceminded.

DONT STAY HERE! The room descriptions are deceptive. A deluxe double full riverview room is a closet (the bed fit in the room but there was not enough space left over for a chair and desk). There are slightly larger rooms without the river view. Front desk staff not helpful--said they would help us find another room and would call us back but then never did, etc. I wouldnt send my worst enemy here.nnIf they want to be truthful, they should tell us the square footage of their rooms...or offer pictures.
