You cant get a better location than this. Staff is amazing and helpful. Hotel provides free mobile phone to guests, with lte data and minutes to call anywhere at no charge, super helpful around Portugal.

The hotel is in a great location,one block from the River Walk adjacent to the Douro River.Our room was quiet and comfortable and the entire staff was very accommodating,especially George and Natalie,with great suggestions for day trips and restaurants.If you have a rental car the hotel(which does not have valet parking) is a half block from an underground parking garage in a town where street parking is near impossible to find.

Amazing location, right in the heart of the old town and a few steps from the riverfront. Room was very clean and the service was good. Only criticism would be the glass door on the toilet which is directly off the bedroom- no privacy at all.

We had the pleasure of staying at the house riviera Porto hotel.
It is perfectly located a few steps from the Douro River in the heart of the historic district.
Rooms are very clean and comfortable.
Breakfast is fabulous
Lots of homemade speciality items.
The staff is amazing and each of the employees goes overboard to address your every need.
Special thanks to Marta, Ines, Joao, Domingos, Flavio and Serafin as well as to the kitchen staff for a great breakfast and the very polite trainees.

Hotel:Gute Lage zentral und direkt am Fluss. Vom Hotel aus alles gut zu Fuss zu erreichen.Personal:Sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.Am ersten Tag gab es ein Glas Portwein als Willkommen und es wurde und auf der Karte die wichtigsten Orte (Sehenswürdigkeiten) gezeigt.Zimmer:W-Lan, Safe, Föhn, Tv, usw.Grosses Zimmer mit Dusche und Wc...Man hört die Strasse aber die Fenster sind gut isoliert. (Kann aber Personen die einen leichten Schlaf haben stören)Sonst ein gutes Zimmer alles in allem.

Hotel pequeño, limpio y muy agradable. La recepcionista Márcia, nos atendió en todo y nos aconsejó diariamente sobre donde ir, muy amable en todo momento. Habitación algo pequeña y muy silenciosa. Tetera y caja de seguridad gratuita. Baño rarito, sin puerta, con la ducha a ras de suelo que por mucho que lo intentes siempre se sale el agua un poco. Lo único desfavorable. Localización inmejorable en la zona más bonita de Oporto a un paso del centro.

Was will man mehr? Für uns steht fest, wenn wir noch einmal nach Porto reisen, übernachten wir hier!!!

Sólo puedo decir cosas buenas de este hotel. Situación, comodidad, servicios a la última incluyendo un dispositivo móvil que te deja el hotel para estar conectados con ellos en todo momento y muy útil en caso de dudas, reservas, restaurantes, etc. Pero lo mejor, la amabilidad de todos los empleados. Volveremos seguro. Gracias!!!!

È da consigliare per posizione (10) , cordialità e disponibilità del personale, servizi offerti ed ovviamente per le camere! Piccola nota di merito, l'hotel mette a disposizione dei clienti uno smartphone, che è stato davvero utile, per contattarli anche tramite messaggi per ogni evenienza e da usare comodamente in città per trovare locali o mezzi di trasporto e tanto altro. Lo smartphone è connesso alla wifi cittadina pertanto sempre utilizzabile! Complimenti!!!

He tenido una experiencia muy buena en este hotel, cuenta con una ubicacion excelente muy cerca del la ribiera del Douro y casco historico. La atención del personal ha sido muy amable, tanto a la llegada como a la salida. Me prepararon desayuno para llevar el día de mi partida, la habitacion impecable y el desayuno Buffet muy completo. Lo recomiendo ampliamente.

Lovely hotel with wonderful staff; as it was our honeymoon we paid for the suite and it was perfect. The balcony offers stunning views of the river and city and despite the noise of the street this didn't effect how we slept.
Breakfast on a weekend is a bit of a free for all as everyone comes down at once and seem to fight for tables and to get to the buffet (small in terms of space but constantly refilled and the food is amazing).
The fact that you are offered free Port on arrival makes for an extremely welcoming experience. Definitely one to come back to!

Stayed here on a recent long weekend trip to Porto. The hotel was lovely, really tastefully decorated, with great high ceilings! The staff could not have been nicer, very helpful and friendly. Location was great, in Ribeira Old Town and only a few minutes to the Port, but also very easy to get to the Port Houses in Gaia and into new Porto. The only downside was in the bedroom there was not a full bathroom door - only frosted glass doors - which may be offputting for some. But all in all a great stay

Beautiful place, they treated us amazing from the get go. They started with some wine and checked out to some cookies which were pretty good. The room is clean and average size for an European hotel. The location is amazing, close to Rua das Flores and the downtown area, also walking distance to the riverfront.

Wonderful location! Located right off of the river and easy to walk everywhere. The staff was extremely helpful. As soon as you arrive they greet you with wine and offer to sit down with you to point out all of the main attractions and make recommendations. We got to know everyone at the front desk because they were so helpful and friendly. Rooms are standard as well as breakfast. But its great to have free breakfast!

La estancia fue muy cómoda, en un lugar privilegiado, junto al río. Cerca de todo y silencioso, ya que apenas se escuchan los ruidos desde fuera. Techo alto, baño nuevo y elegante, la cama muy cómoda y nos regalaron una botella de agua grande que nos vino muy bien. No pongo cuatro estrellas porque al final nos cobraron 25 euros por el transbordo al aeropuerto cuando dejan caer que es gratis. El resto, perfecto, volvería y lo recomiendo encarecidamente.
PD. Ojo, el desayuno no está incluido y es caro, merece la pena moverse un poco y desayunar por ahí!

This hotel went above and beyond our expectations-especially after we booked it a week in a half before during high tourist season. Upon check in we were greeted by a very kind and helpful woman. She gave us maps and a google phone(!) to use throughout our stay with internet apps like a city guide and the full functionality of a real cell phone. We even were allowed to make international phone calls up to 30 minutes using it all for free. The lobby was beautifully decorated and the whole first experience was great. When we arrived to our room on the fourth floor we were even more surprised, on our bed was a chocolate cake with a note congratulating us on our recent marriage. It was a very sweet guesture and the cake was delicious! The room was a perfect size with plenty of storage, a safe, mini fridge (free bottle of water everyday) and more. The room was very clean and it was just wonderful. The hotel is a block behind the ribeira (the famous riverbank with the restaurants) and was the perfect location to go anywhere in the city. We were very pleased and will be recommending the hotel to everyone we know! Thanks you House Ribeira for a wonderful experience!!

Sólo hemos estado comiendo. Muy mejorable el menú diario. Sólo había una opción, canelones y sopa, a 10€ persona ración muy escasa y la bebida(agua) no incluida en el precio muy cara, a 4€ 1 litro de agua. Cualquier otro sitio hubiese sido mejor.

Muito bem localizado. Atendimento maravilhoso. Café da manhã muito bom. Quarto muito pequeno e sem porta no banheiro. Mas, muita atenção com o endereço do hotal no seu GPS. Existe outra rua infante dom henrique no Porto e com o mesmo número do Hotal em uma área residencial. O Hotel fica na Ribeira ao lado do Palácio da Bolsa.

ME GUSTÓ TODO. El recibimiento fue maravilloso, con vino en la recepción, pastelitos de nata y todo tipo de indicaciones para visitar la ciudad. La chica que nos atendió era encantadora. El hotel es una monada, limpio, en una zona estupenda, cerca de todo, bonito, silencioso, cómodo, confortable. El desayuno muy muy bueno, variado, rico, casero, con zumo de naranja natural y siempre pendientes de si falta algo. Excelente relación calidad-precio.

Although when booking, this hotel wasn’t at the top of our list, recent tripadvisor reviews and the location swayed us to book.
It did not disappoint!
Staff were extremely attentive and helpful, from the moment we arrived to the minute we checked out.
The rooms we had were spacious and everything you needed in one place, inc. coffee machine, mini bar and large bathroom.
We opted for the breakfast which did not disappoint. Plenty of choice and it was delicious.
Location wise, it really was perfect! Easily walkable to all the sights of Porto.
Really enjoyed our stay.

Cet hôtel est idéalement situé, confortable, propre, avec un excellent service de conciergerie et un petit-déjeuner tout à fait satisfaisant. La chambre est de bonne taille, la fenêtre donnant sur une cour intérieure où le seul bruit était le chant des oiseaux. Salle de bain agréable avec grande douche à l'italienne. Literie confortable et en excellent état. Le personnel sait se montrer prévenant, c'était un plaisir de séjourner dans cet établissement que je recommande chaudement. Je n'hésiterai pas à revenir lors d'une prochaine visite.

This is an excellent location, staff friendly and helpful. The room was small and had I realized would have booked a larger one. Also when we got to our room both the telephone and coffee maker were not working, which once reported were attended to. I would certainly recommend this hotel and if ever I returned to Porto stay at again.

This hotel is just brilliant, on checking in they sat me down, welcomed me with a drink, and a Pastel de nata. Spent 10 mins with me going over a map showing and recommending best places to visit. Room was excellent clean and tidy. Expresso machine which is always a bonus. 3 minutes away from the Riverside. And a 5 minute walk to the train/metro station. Also they left a small gift in my room on my last full day. Best thing is the staff friendly and helpful.... Would definitely come back.

Great experience here! The staff are so friendly and helpful, Diogo sat with us when we arrived and went over the map and pointed out recommendations. They even give you a phone to take with you so that you have access to the internet and recommendations, plus google maps. The rooms are quiet and clean, and the location is amazing! So close to everything you could need and easily walkable. The price is also very reasonable! Would definitely recommend staying here!!

Great hotel ! Linen and shower was really good. The room was quite small but ok. Staff was really friendly. I was with colleagues and we really felt at home.
Also the breakfast was exactly in line with my expectation and price in low season was reasonable.

I was hosted in this hotel for three nights, for a business travel. The location is really perfect and the personnel extremely kind and attentive. The hotel is elegant but at the same time informal, you feel like at home, The breakfast extremely good, with a lot of fresh pastry and delicious bread. Thwy welcomed me with a glass of Porto wine. I skipped last breakfast and they prepared a bag for me, with fruit, sandwich, yogurt, cookies and other tasty things. A very pleasant discovery.

The staff were lovely but there were problems which made me go for 3*
When having a shower it overflowed over the bathroom. The maid had put the wrong hair collector in the plug. The staff sorted it out quickly but not much of an apology as I had to stand around in a towel as no dressing gown and slippers as advertised. Apparently they are only for the executive rooms. They gave them to me when I pointed out this.
Sunday morning the maid barged into my room at 9 am without knocking! Good thing it was a female.
The bar was really not a bar and no-one seemed to be in there which was a disappointment as I was a single traveller and hoped to chat to other people.
Would I stay there again? No .
I also realized the tourist tax had to be paid when checking out.

Sehr schönes Hotel direkt in der Altstadt von Porto. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten können leicht zu Fuß erreicht werden. Der Fluss mit der Uferpromenade ist nur 100m vom Hotel entfernt. Ausgezeichnetes und vielseitiges Frühstück.Einziger Malus war, dass das Zimmer etwas kalt war und nur mit einen zusätzlichen Heizlüfter gewärmt werden konnte.

Un hotel MUY bien ubicado, junto al río y el puente do Luis, céntrico y bien comunicado.
La recepción muy amable, nos atendió Rita, explicándonos todas las zonas turísticas e interesantes para visitar.
La habitación justa, sin lujos, pero limpia, con una botella de agua diaria de cortesía y máquina de café y té, con wifi, tv, caja fuerte y baño completo con ducha. Vistas a la calle con edificios de época.
El desayuno, bastante completo, 'onsiste en un bufete con café e infusiones, zumos, bolleria, fruta y platos calientes, huevos, salchichas, bacon, etc...muy completo.
Un BONITO DETALLE, el día 31 nos pusieron un sobre con pasas para celebrar el fin de año y una felicitácion!!!

Die nette Rita von der Rezeption hat uns alle Sehenswürdigkeiten und tolle Bars und Restaurants auf einem Handy regiestriert und das Handy konnten wir immer mit nehmen, war im Preis mit drin. Завтраки обычные, удивило отсутствие протирания столов(уборка-смахивание крошек ). Расположение, уют и тишина - причина выбрать этот отель!

The hotel is situated perfectly. Walking distance to everything. Very near to the river. You will find restaurants, shopping and small markets near the hotel. The city of Porto has a problem with the credit cards. They do not like them and a lot of places only accept cash. Very inconvenience. Be careful because most of them do not have any information of Only Cash. But The hotel 100 % recommended. The front desk Rui is amazing!!!

Excelente hotel. Ssobre todo la ubicacion es de lo mejor, se tiene lo mas importante de Oporto a mano y no se necesita coger tranporte publico. Las habitaciones no son muy grandes, pero estan limpias y son confortables. La atencion en recepcion fue excelente y no tengo mas que buenas palabras para sus trabajadores. Precio caro como son los hoteles de 4 estrelllas bien situados. Reservando con tiempo se puede obtener un buen precio.

Excellent hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Centrally located walking distance to pretty much everything you want to see in Porto. Breakfast was really good with homemade pastries and preserves, they also have eggs, bacon, oatmeal, yogurt, fruits, chia seeds, baby hot dogs etc. The cafeteria, where breakfast is served, is super cute, feels like a cozy cafe and not your ordinary hotel breakfast hall with no windows.
What also was really awesome that hotel provides an iphone during your stay free of charge with internet and voice call, that comes in handy if you do not have roaming or local number. Overall excellent experience, definitely recommend and will stay here again. Thank you for such care and service!

We had the pleasure of staying in at The House Ribeira Hotel towards the end of May this year. The Hotel is excellent located at the heart of the old town and in close proximity to the river front, river taxi service as well as the tourist buses and the trams.
The hotel being converted from a commercial premises has some unique features including a reception / bar area, almost hidden away, behind an entrance lobby containing the stairs and lift as well as a now disused old employee punch clock and telephone exchange.
Adjacent to the reception is the area where breakfast is served and which is the first indication that The House Ribeira Hotel has a slightly unique decor style. The breakfast area has a few individual tables alongside one long refectory table which would seat about twenty people. The breakfast was an excellent standard offering with some outstanding orange juice on offer.
The unusual design choices continued in the bedroom where the compact rooms are equipped with functional tubular steel and wood furniture . The mattress was very firm, just the way we like it, but some may prefer softer beds. The rooms and hotel in general was immaculately maintained and benefited from lovely friendly and attentive staff.
This is an ideally located hotel that is a little quirky but we loved our stay and would definitely return again.

Very friendly and polite staffs. The bed is comfortable and the room is clean. Free big bottle of water daily, tea maker, a glass of port as welcome drink add some nice touch to their service. A cellphone with data & city information app to take out with you (free of charge) can be very helpful for those who don’t have data roaming. Breakfast is basic but they serve until 11a.m.

Ottima la posizione, vicina alla riva del fiume con tanti ristoranti e bar per tutti i gusti e per tutte le tasche. Le stanze sono adeguate alla categoria per arredo e pulizia. Il personale, apparentemente garbato, ha delle cadute di stile davvero riprovevoli. Un esempio per tutti: si permettono di interrompere la colazione dei clienti per una firma sul conto o altre sciocchezze che senz’altro potrebbero aspettare. La colazione è completa di dolce e salato ma spesso l’ampia sala non era sufficiente e l’affollamento e il chiasso erano eccessivi.

Location is nice. And if you don’t care about amenities, it’s ok. There is not much of a restaurant, even though it is advertised as having one. (Except for breakfast) We tried to eat lunch there and were told by a person that finally came to see why we were sitting at a table, “I don’t know what we have, do you want me to ask?” So we left and ate elsewhere. Mold is an issue and the windows leak. You can hear lots of noise from the street. However, rooms are clean and well done. We stayed there while the weather was cold and the room was comfortable. The rest of the staff have been very pleasant and helpful. If I could rate this hotel just on the rest of the staff, I would give 5 stars. They really are very nice. They do have free WiFi and they offer free water and coffee in the room. The breakfast was basic and in my opinion way overpriced. If we stay in Porto again, we will try another spot. I really like having a full service restaurant in the hotel.

A localização é ideal. Preço ótimo para a noite, os quartos são acolhedores e as camas confortáveis. Tem uma sala de convívio e cozinha também, tudo funcional. A decoração é interessante e jovial, e o staff é simplesmente incrível. Tive uma situação de precisar de ir ao supermercado quando faltavam apenas 10 minutos para este fechar, e o senhor responsável nesse dia levou-me no carro de propósito e trouxe-me de volta ao hostel, a tempo de conseguir fazer as compras.

Lo mejor de este hotel es su situación, a dos minutos de la ribeira de Oporto, el lugar más bonito y de más ambiente de Oporto; es bajar una pequeña calle y encontrarse con todas las terrazas, bares y restaurantes, y el río. Por lo demás, a pesar de ser de cuatro estrellas es bastante sencillo, sin ningún aliciente. Eso sí, muy limpio y con todos los elementos necesarios en una habitación moderna, y hay mucho silencio por la noche; es decir, está bien, sin más. Pero con un problema, y es que es muy caro: 125 € noche, sin desayuno, días de diario y en otoño; es decir, más caro que uno mejor en Lisboa o en Madrid. Pero este es un problema de Oporto, los hoteles céntricos son todos muy caros, pero por otra parte recomiendo un hotel céntrico para poder disfrutar mejor de los atractivos de esta preciosa ciudad, que hay que reservar con antelación especialmente los fines de semana y verano. Este en concreto está al lado de la Ribeira, del Palacio de la Bolsa y de la iglesia de San Francisco, y a un pequeño paseo de la Catedral.
No tienen restaurante ni bar, aunque en recepción te pueden servir un vino o un café. El desayuno cuesta 12€, pero no lo recomiendo, no es gran cosa y se sirve en un lugar poco adecuado ya que no disponen de comedor, y más habida cuenta de que solo salir por la puerta te puedes sentar en la terraza de cualquier café en la ribera, con vistas, donde nos han servido a nosotros un desayuno consistente en un zumo natural, un grandísimo café con leche y dos enormes tostadas hechas a la plancha con mantequilla, con su mermelada o miel, sabrosísimas, por 4€.

Estive hospedada neste hotel durante a minha estadia de 3 dias no Porto e nunca tinha sido tão bem recebida. Fiquei com o meu namorado que veio da América, foi nos oferecido um cálice de vinho do Porto à chegada e todas as dicas do que visitar nesta cidade, além de sítios onde comer. Sempre disponíveis para tudo. No check-out ainda nos guardaram as malas para ver um pouco da Ribeira antes de apanharmos o comboio para Lisboa, também nos foi oferecido um pacotinho com bolachas de chocolate. Aconselho a quem estiver de passagem pelo Porto a ficar neste hotel, além de que fica mesmo em frente à zona da Ribeira.

Check-in bom, café da manhã excelente, porém o quarto ficou a desejar. 1) O quarto não possui sistema de aquecimento, somente resfriamento, isso no inverno europeu não é plausível. 2) Sistema de iluminação no quarto é confuso com todos os interruptores de luz misturados na coluna de entrada do quarto, ou seja, uma pessoa que vá ao banheiro no meio da madrugada tem que ficar procurando entre os vários interruptores. Às vezes modernidade demais atrapalha...

Staff was very friendly and gave us all the tips about the city for our needs and made us so comfortable and homely. The breakfast was superb and well organised. Do not stay here! The staff is dishonest.
My friend and I booked and prepaid ($624) for 2 rooms for 2 nights several months ago for September 10 and 11. On Sept 5th I contacted the hotel to cancel my reservations and book another room for September 7th. I had to cut my trip short because of the hurricane that was scheduled to hit Florida (where I live.) so I could be home with my family. I arrived at The House Ribeira Hotel on the 7th. Jorge, the manager, was very accommodating. He helped with returning our rental car, he gave us a glass of wine, he made sure the other reservations were cancelled. He even called Expedia and left a call back number so he could assist in cancelling with them for my refund. He said that the hotel did not have a problem with the refund, just needed to clear with Expedia. This was September 7th.
Today is September 27th. Im still trying to get my refund back. Expedia (which I will NEVER use again) said the hotel refused to grant our refund. The hotel is saying Expedia never contacted them and they held the reservations for the 10th and 11th. I WAS THERE! I PERSONNALLY SAID CANCEL THE RESERVATIONS FOR THE 10th and 11th as I was standing at the front desk in the hotel to the hotel manager.
I have not only lost $624 but the hours (literally) spent on the phone with Expedia and the emails I have sent to the hotel has ruined my Portugal experience.
Im so disappointed that The House Ribeira Hotel was dishonest and basically scammed me out of not only the $624, but another $220 for the night I stayed there.

Hotel is adorable and in a great location. The staff was fantastic and extremely helpful. The rooms are great, except one thing. One very big thing. There is no door for the bathroom. It's a open floor plan. This gives you no privacy from the rest the room. You exit the shower right into the room. The toilet is separated by a slightly frosted door, again providing no privacy. This alone made me rate the hotel a three star - which would have even been lower if the staff hadn't been as helpful and as great as they were. Apparently this is an issue they know about and told us they were updating all rooms to have a privacy divider between the bathing area and the rest the room.

Close to restaurants and walking distance to most must see porto places (you will be walking slightly uphill so where good shoes) If your sensitive to noise dont get a room overlooking street. Rooms are modern -one odd thing is thr wahsroom/ showers are fairly open (only has a semi frosted glass door) and the sink was completely exposed. It was ok for myself and my husband but would be odd with just friends. We had great service with the staff. Good breakfast with pastrys eggs bacon homemade bread. but i would check out other breakfast locations near by as many restaurants cafes near by. they offer a free smart phone during ur stay with wifi and local calling!

Not to sure what the 1 star review is about, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
The hotel is in an ideal location near to bus service's, metro and even a taxi rank on the same street. It's a 5 minute walk from the river which is full of coffee shop, bars and restaurants.
On top of that the staff are lovely and attentive and the hotel is Clean with good size rooms.

Modern Hotel close to the Cais da Ribeira but with a very poor service, staff is not prepared to do a good service to their clients and they tricked us into booking a City View premium bedroom only to find that we have view to a very ugly inner patio, management didn't care and there was no compensation and not even a proper compensacion. This would be the last hotel I would recommend there are plenty of other options at cheaper prices since this is not a cheap hotel.

Das Hotel ist noch sehr neu und hat erst vor ein paar Monaten eröffnet. Das Personal erwähnt dies entsprechend mit der Bitte um direktes Feedback. Wir waren im Ganzen betrachtet zufrieden mit der Wahl, da das Hotel in perfekter Stadtlage für einen Besuch in Porto liegt, alle Highlights der Stadt sind in Laufdistanz zu erreichen. Es gibt eine grosse Auswahl an Restaurants und Bars in der Umgebung. Die Zimmer sind eher klein was die Grösse anbelangt, dafür aber modern eingerichtet, mit sehr bequemen Bett.Leider ist der Badbereich etwas speziell. Das WC ist nur mit einer Glastür vom Rest des Zimmers abgegrenzt und diese ist nach oben hin auch noch offen, d.h. wenn man das Zimmer teilt wird man sehr offen mit dem Partner umgehen was Geräusche/ Gerüche im WC anbelangt. Dies wurde beim Personal scheinbar schon mehrfach als Kritikpunkt angemerkt, da diese nicht überrascht waren bei dieser Rückmeldung. Frühstück haben wir uns gespart, da im Vergleich zu externen Cafes verhältnismässig teuer und nicht spektakulär. Der Service war teils etwas sehr langsam. An der Reception bediente das Personal gleichzeitig die Bar. D.h. irgendwo musste man immer warten. Wenn parallel mehrere Check-in oder Check-outs waren kam es zu längeren Wartezeiten. Ansonsten sehr nett und hilfsbereit.
