My 19 year old daughter did the DSD (discover Scuba Dive), same as Try a Dive. Steve and Jo were so kind professional and informative. Their equipment was modern and in great condition. The facilities were great and the training pool had lots of different depths in it, so you got a true feel for depth. Steve was so patient and very knowledgeable so she felt safe and at ease at all times. Their RIB (boat) was properly kitted out with plenty of storage space. My son did a try a dive last year in a different dive school last year in Portugal but we found Indigo divers more professional- ensuring my daughter learnt a lot (less money grabbing). Safety was paramount at all times, she totally enjoyed herself, the location chosen was excellent with plenty of marine life and created so much interest for a first time diver, she saw octopus and lots of colourful fish. I would rate this dive centre very high and would recommend it. Lots of photos and videos were taken under the water and for a small charge were given to her before she left on a memory stick. We will definitely be back.

My son George completed his 4 day PADI Open Water diving Course with Indigo Diving in August. From start to finish Jo, Steve and the team were a pleasure to deal with. From initial email months ago for information to actually arriving at the centre communication was excellent. Once we arrived and I left George age 14 with Jo and the team I had full confidence that George would be well looked after and he was. He came away each day full of confidence and enthusiasm and successfully completed the course. Indigo diving team are very professional, equipment and instruction are second to none and the confidence they gave my son was brilliant. I would recommend these guys to anyone and we will certainly use them again.

Just wanted to acknowledge good service from Jo and the dive centre, having received during high season a timely response to my email enquiry that exceeded expectations in terms of the comprehensive content (and was no doubt prepared at the end of a long day!) While I have not dived with this organisation yet (unfortunately I have had to postpone my holiday), I certainly plan to do so when I visit the Algarve in the hopefully not too distant future! I note others' excellent reviews for the Dive Centre given both here and on TripAdvisor.

I highly recommend indigo divers Albufeira if you are interested in discovering the under water magical world. I have just finished PADI open water dive qualifications with them. It challenging in its own way yet immensely rewarding at the end. Steve and Jo are truly passionate about diving and both have great knowledge with the area& sites plus their years of diving experience under their belts. Their equipment and gear are in top condition, and they really do put the effort to looking after it. They really care about marine life and have great awareness to protect the environment. I would recommend Steve and Jo 100%, you will walk away with an unforgettable diving experience and if you are lucky maybe some awesome under water diving pictures as well. Steve is a great underwater photographer. He took lots of interesting underwater picture of me with local marine life and I am absolutely delighted to have them as a record for my first ever unforgettable diving memories in Protugal.

Just want to say a big thanks to Steve and Jo. I unfortunately never got the change to actually dive with Indigo; however, I can 100% recommend them and they will be my first choice when I get back in the area. I made the mistake dive with the competitor in Albufeira, resulting in a very cold dive which was my own fault and mainly because I was using my own 2-4 mm wetsuit. However, I was not the only one on the boat freezing duo to improper wetsuit. After the first dives I was recommend doing wreck dives, I contacted Indigo that unfortunately had just done Wreck dive the day on my arrival. However, the welcome and help I got was exceptional and I can’t praise Steve and Jo enough for helping me arrange the wreck dive I wanted with Divers Cove who is another dive centre I can give my full recommendation. The competitor dive centre in Albufeira however I would not recommend. They are all professional but maybe a bit too big and to many employees not caring. I would have loved some advice about prober wetsuit and was also a bit disappointed that when I requested wreck dive I was just told: “we will not do that now”. The above is total contrast to Indigo who I believe would never send people diving in 2-4mm wetsuit in October and did all they could to help and advise even they made no money on it. I had an excellent day thanks to Indigo and will definitely use them if I ever get the change.

Steve and Jo provide a very personalised service and are obviously keen conservationalists. They care passionately about the reefs and want to share their knowledge. The pre dive briefing concentrates on safety and the fauna and flora. Thankyou

Fantastic dive centre. My husband and I had a great experience getting our Padi certification. Experienced, patient staff. Rental equipment was top notch. Our instructor was extremely skilled and patient - an excellent teacher. Great service.

Bad Diving School. Please try to avoid it. My friend had no oxygen left because of bad instruments. Diving Teacher Steve is not recommendable. Please note also the other bad reviews here. We were not the only ones who felt left alone. Keine gute Tauchschule, gibt vielleicht den ein oder anderen Tauchlehrer, der ok ist, aber bitte taucht nicht mit Steve. Hat kein Bock auf seine Kunden und ist aggressiv ohne es zu merken.

Erstmal müssen wir sagen das wir 4 Stern für die Landschaft unter Wasser gegeben haben. Wer Fischschwärme und Oktupus sehen möchte wird an den Tauchspots voll auf seine Kosten kommen. Wir waren in unserm Urlaub an anderen Tauchbasen und mussten feststellen, dass diese mit Abstand am schlechtes von allen war. Die Stimmung kam in der Gruppe nicht so wirklich auf, das Team war eher mit sich selber beschäftigt und hat sich gar nicht für den Taucher interessiert. Das wichtigste für die Basis war das vorab bezahlt wurde. Es wurden für 2 Tauchgänge 85€ pro Person berechnet (die anderen Basen immer um knapp 10€ billiger). Das Material war abgenutzt und teilweise defekt. Auf mein Wunsch eine 15L Flasche haben zu wollen wurde garnicht eingegangen. Wir wurden von der Basis mit einem Auto bis zum Hafen gebracht das dauerte ca 5-10 min. Am Hafen wurden wir in einem Motorboot aufs Meer gefahren - für jemand der seekrank wird, sollte er an Tabletten denken. Auf Seekrankheit wird keine Rücksicht genommen, man ließ mich mit en Problem über Bord hängen. Wir sind Anfänger (hatten dies vorher auch mehrfach betont) und hatten entsprechend viele Fragen. Allerdings wurden wir oft sehr unfreundlich übergangen und man wurde angefahren, dass das Briefing noch komme. Das wäre auch freundlich gegangen. Das ein Taucher während des gesamten Tauchgangs offenbar Probleme mit seiner Maske hatte interessierte den Guide nicht. Getränke sind kostenpflichtig. Beim 2 Tauchgang ist ein Taucher nicht mehr ins Wasser weil er sich nicht wohl gefühlt hat - verständlich - Wir würden einfach an einer andern stelle gebracht ca 10 min Bootsfahrt und dort wurden wir ins Wasser geschmissen! Wir waren um 14:00 mit allem komplett fertig - 2 Tauchgänge ! Da wir diese Basis mit andern auf unsere Portugal vergleichen konnten können wir ein Guten Vergleich ziehen.- diese Basis ist nix für den Anfänger oder für den Taucher der mit guter Laune

I've been diving with Indigo for several years, last year i did my rescue course with them. Jo and Steve really put me through the tests, definitely no easy passes and i felt more confident and proud of what i'd achieved after completing it. Safety is always their number one priority as it should be, i always felt reassured diving with them. The dive sites are varied, the wrecks are awesome and Sagres caves are among my favourite ever dives. Can't wait to visit again next year!

Where do i Start.... ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.! I have been to Indigo a few times now and find the experience fantastic. My first experiance as a novice with my OW cert, i informed Steve that i get sea sickness and i was taken care of the whole trip made sure i was hydrated. The dives where great best id done seeing i learnt in the english channel. The following year i did my deep spec but due to appalling weather i couldnt finish it. So i came back and finished it later on that year so it wasnt referred.Jo and steve are top class instructors or they would not be 5☆ rated, i wish i could spend my time with them to do my dive master and idc In my opinion if you dont have a good experience with indigo divers you probably shouldnt be in the water. Cheers guys see you next year.

My 13 year old daughter and I have been diving for some years but we are holiday divers, so welcome any advice. We have recently returned from Portugal diving with Indigo. Dennis and Steve were diving with us and Steve gave me helpful hits on remembering how to put the equipment together so I could do it myself on the second dive. Dennis was very good underwater reminding me to check where my fins were, so I didn´t damage any life, and Steve was talking photos of us with lots of sea life (great memories to have & show the family). After the dive they helped with the equipment so we could get on the boat, and back at the centre we did all the logbooks and looked at the fish ID slates. We had a great mornings diving, and I can honestly say I trusted them completely with my daughter in the water - they were knowledgeable and clear, but expected you to pay attention and respect your surroundings. I would highly recommend them. Thanks also to Jo in the dive centre (and good luck on your first baby) helping with all paperwork and checking everthing went well. Looking forward to visiting again.

I dived here a week ago. Please do not use this dive company. I am an experienced diver and have enjoyed diving all over the world without ever having an issue. One of the owners, Steve was driving the boat on the day I dived. He was aggressive, rude, hostile and extremely intimidating towards me. He treated me like a complete novice and was dismissive of my experience, shouting at me in the water about how I was incorrectly using the equipment (slightly deflating a BCD for ease of swimming), belittling the experience I had for no reason. After my dive, although I repeatedly told him I could remove my equipment and wetsuit myself, he spun me in the water roughly pulling off my gear. He then told me that I had no business on the dive as I couldnt dive properly. He mocked me by saying that as I wasnt able to sink on my own, he had snuck weights into my BCD. (I had spent the entire dive having trouble with my buoyancy and couldnt understand why). Steve was angry, sarcastic and aggressive on the boat. Quite honestly, I was frightened of him and after 10 to 15 minutes of his insults, I burst into tears. Even this didnt stop his angry outburst. I refused to do a second dive as his behaviour had made me anxious and also my nose was blocked from crying. When we got back to land,he continued with his aggressive behaviour and even followed be down the street shouting threats. It was behaviour you would see at 3am after closing hours, not a dive shop on a Sunday morning. I would like to say that I am a very easygoing person and never once raised my voice to him. For reasons unknown, he took a deep personal dislike to me. If you want to go diving in Albufeira, please find somewhere else. This man is not stable and is not fit to interact with the public.

Had a great time learning to dive with all the instructors. Very patient with the learners. Well worth visiting and learning from very experienced divers. Saw a lot of people who have d8ved before coming back from dives with big smiles and compliments for the instructors. I will definitely be going there again.

On Saturday, 2nd September, 2017 in Albufeira, aged 53 and 3/4's I did a DSD with Indigo, my instructor was Steve Harley (himself a master diver, cool dude and all-round-good-guy. The dive centre is welcoming and well equipped and after the required paperwork and introduction video we proceeded to the adjacent pool for the practice of skills and then onward to the dive site. This was my first ever diving experience and it was awesome! Am I a natural, did I take to it like a mermaid? No, I did not! But, I can honestly say that with the attentive patience of Steve and the team at Indigo I was able to enjoy and complete a dive to 12m which was a really positive experience and has left me with a thirst to try it again. Took the Open water dive course here and it was great. Friendly and professional staff. Great dive sites, lots of aquatic life and a nice boat. Flexible theory and schedule. Dennis, our instructor was really good. Would definitely recommend for uncertified and certified divers alike.

Absolutely awful. I felt like a hostage. The staff were ignorant. Shocking experience. If I was paid €120 to dive with them I would refuse it.

I am a 2 star CMAS. Definitely would not recommend. The couple had a very weird attitude. Unfriendly and unprofessional. I felt uncomfortable and after I was out of the water I didn't feel very well (felt like i was intoxicated). But they did not seem to care. My worse diving experience so far. Find yourself another dive school.

Great couple of dives, the vis was OK as there had been some storms a few days earlier. Jo was open and honest about what to expect and the possible outcomes, so knew what we were getting, and considering the vis was not at its best the dive was great and we saw lots of wildlife.. some truly magnificent eels, the biggest I have seen, octopus.. saw maybe 12.. huge trigger fish among others and spider crabs bigger than a football. My partner and I are training for SAA/CMAS club diver and found these dives great fun. If it's your 1st dive or your 100th the indigo will deliver in sure, a good fun, professional company.
