I am just returned from a 4 day trip to beautiful Porto with some good friends.We planned to play two days of golf while staying in the area. On Thursday 18th we had the great pleasure of playing Estela Golf Club in Vila do Conde on a gorgeous day with little wind and no rain. The minute the taxi dropped us we were greeted by all staff with a warm welcome and a friendly smile. We paid €60 green fees each with no charge for the pull carts and sent off to the first tee with genuine good wishes to enjoy the day and the course. Our wildest expectations did not prepare us for the great majesty of this fantastic course set right up against the wild Atlantic.The scenery is spell bounding and it took great will power to concentrate on the golf. Our memorable round of golf was capped nicely with a few cold beers on the terrace over looking the 18th as the sun slid slowly into the Ocean. We will all cherish our trip to Estela and look forward to returning soon. On Saturday we booked to play Oporto Golf Club after reading many reviews and noting the long history of the Club. When our taxis dropped us this time our hearts sank as we surveyed the course from the car park Neither the lady at the office, the professional from whom we hired clubs nor the caddymaster could muster a smile or proffer a greeting, warm or otherwise to complete strangers who had chosen to pay an astonishing €80 to play their course. We were told to play off the 10th but given no proper directions from the aforementioned employees who had our money. After some navigational errors and some advice from idle caddies we found our elusive starting point. Every single aspect of the course is profoundly disappointing.Undulating tee boxes, scarred greens from poor mowing and fairways that looked like a local herd of elephants had summered there.Criss crossing a busy road every few holes with poor signage leads one to believe that the course designer had little experience of good quality golf courses and no one on committee has seen fit to dig it up and start again.As one of my co sufferers suggested, '' the course should be white lined around the boundary and designated GUR'' ( Ground Under Repair ) Lest I be accused of unfair comment I should say that the courteous gentleman in the Club House who takes care of the dressing room, kindly cleaned and in one case repaired our shoes while we played for which we were grateful. However my singular advice to prospective golf visitors to the region is to avoid this place like the plague.Drive an extra 50km if you have to or better still play Estela twice like we should have done. We will never get back the hours we spent driving to the course and playing it and when we got in after 18 torturous holes the office was closed so we could not even have the pleasure of asking for our money back. No doubt they will send it on after they read this... A.G.Grieved. PS.there should be an option to give no stars as it is fully deserved.

Nous deconseillons. Réserve aux membres et joueurs uniquement... pas terrible pour un golf. Nous ne viendrons donc pas jouer ni manger...

Um campo de golf plano com lay-out em links, com a sucessão de buracos nem sempre bem indicada o que o torna um pouco confuso para o jogador que o visita pela primeira vez. Número suficiete de caddies para quem a estes pretende recorrer. Ambiente simpático.

O campo de golfe mais,antigo em Portugal. Bom restaurante e com muito bom ambiente

O tempo esteve excelente, os greens optimos, o almoço bom e a companhia 5 estrelas.

Excelente local para jogar golf e descontrair Aos sábados de manhã também se pode apresenta aprender golf por 50€ por mês Não é preciso levar nada eles emprestam

I rang to book for 3 people and ask to rent golf clubs Very nice people on the phone they told my the price was 50£ for game and 30£ for the rental each and I have to pay the clubs in cash and the rest in card so we took enough cash and is everything was ok Then when we go there was a extra 35 £ for a trolley and we have to pay cash When we complain that it was a outrage amount of money for a trolley and with didn’t had a lot cash on us we offer to pay with credit card and they refused So we had to use all our cash to pay for the trolleys and the staff where very rude and arrogant Please be careful when booked I have used other clubs in Portugal and everything was nice this one are rude arrogant and they stitch you up

O primeiro Golf em Portugal, conhecido por no estrangeiro por OPorto Golf devido ao estrangeirismo de quem cá vinha e passava a palavra prenunciando desta maneira. Fica situado junto á Costa com praias magníficas que criam um ambiente único e cheio de vida e natureza pura! Claro que se pode juntar o útil ao agradável e jogar um Golf e fazer uma praia entre outras atrações que tem por perto, como hipismo e aeronaves. Sem duvida um local muito especial e perto da cidade de Espinho que oferece turismo de alta qualidade!

Super antipáticos!!! Nunca mais lá volto!
