Recently hired 6 bikes which 2 had no back brakes, one was delivered with a puncture and 2 bikes during the week developed punctures, chains kept coming off, these bikes were awful, I do not recommend this shop to hire bikes from!

We visited the shop to rent two bikes for the following day and opted to pay a little extra for Trek bikes, because they were advertised as being supplied in a variety of sizes and both male and female models, and this was agreed at the time. The bikes that turned up the next day - an hour later than agreed - were not Trek bikes (although we were charged for them), and were both unisex and one standard size (which was too big). The chains came off both bikes repeatedly during a short ride around the Ria Formosa. The gears were poorly adjusted and noisy, and some didn't work at all. Although it's cheaper than some other bike rental companies, the company advertises more than it actually offers - avoid!

Bikeland rent-a-bike promises delivery above 20 km distance and + 3 days rental. I made a reservation for 5 days with delivery in a town within 50 km range. Unfortunately they canno t keep their promises, nothing is possible. Very blunt communication too. :(

We hired 8 bikes in October of 2015, very disappointed in the bikes when they arrived. We have been away on numerous overseas trips as a club and have always received excellent road bikes well maintained of a very high standard. OK so when you hire a bike you might not expect it to be as good as your own 'Sunday Best', however 4 of the bikes were of acceptable standard and 4 were very old and not at all well maintained (they gave us a 'spare bike' and it was ancient and a ton weight). One of the bikes was at least 10 years old (estimated) as it was a Giant decorated with 'ONCE" livery (that team disbanded around 10 years ago). Within 1/2 an hour of our first days ride we noticed that one of the bikes had a badly buckled/out of true back wheel, then a snapped chain and a puncture (i know sounds like a comedy show, but its all true) all on different bikes, not well maintained would be my view. later that day i complained to the owner who responded very well by replacing all of the substandard and old bikes with another 4 relatively new Giant aluminium bikes. It didn't ruin our trip (due to our outlook) but i was extremely embarrassed when the bikes turned up as i was the one that booked them. Now i have to say they responded well by replacing the bikes however the standard of the original bikes should not have been presented to anyone for hire. Would never use again as my view is if a hire shop is hiring bikes to individual cyclists or Clubs they really should know the standards that are expected, this was not the case with Bikeland. Poor Show Guys hope you have pulled your socks up by now or stopped hiring.
