Gehuurd via Sunny cars/Sunweb. Vanwege een vergeten Creditcard liet Sunny Cars ons letterlijk weten, niet te kunnen helpen en dat we "het zelf maar moesten uitzoeken" (om 23:00 uur met vermoeide vrouw en baby). Gelukkig loste Drive on Holidays het probleem met wat creativiteit op. Aardige mensen.

They wanted 70€ because there was some sand and dust inside the car. Just a trick to make more money fron us... We went to a gas station and quickly vacuum cleaned the car but this wouldn’t have been possible if we needed to catch a flight.

(Scam)Don't get ripped off at the car hire desk abroad..ever hear that one before? This is the exact place you simply must avoid at absolutely all costs. The most outlandish and disgraceful staff and treatment IV EVER received (Sara) these people are an absolute disgrace and I can see how they might get away with it for a while but I guarantee you this company will disappear just as quickly as it popped up. This is a scam I lost my money and I moved on end of story. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RENT A CAR HERE.

Wir haben einen VW Sharan für 2 Wochen gebucht. Sehr günstig, Service vor Ort sehr nett, sowohl beim Holen als auch beim Bringen. Es geht ein Shuttle alle paar Minuten vom Flughafen Parkplatz 4. Einfach Familie am Flughafen lassen, Auto holen, Familie einsammeln und ab. Alles super, nächstes Jahr wieder. Dran denken, daß aauf der Kreditkarte eine Kaution geblockt wird, also beim Limit je nach Auto bis zu 3000€ vorhalten.

Man kann hier sehr günstig Autos mieten. Hatten über CHECK24 gebucht - 26€ für 4 Tage inkl. Premiumschutz. Man sollte nur vorher schauen, wie hoch die Kaution sein wird, die auf der Kreditkarte geblockt wird und nein zu Zusatzversicherungen sagen, die einem vor Ort angeboten werden. Ansonsten lief alles problemlos - sowohl Abholung als auch Rückgabe.

Sehr günstige Autovermietung. Wurden am Flughafen in Faro empfangen und zum Shuttle geführt. Von dort fuhren wir zur Autovermietung ( ca. 5 Minuten). Dort den üblichen Papierkram erledigt und dann das Auto in Empfang genommen. Aufpassen! Die versuchen noch eine Zusatzversicherung abzuschließen. Nicht darauf eingehen. Vorher beim Buchen alles mit erledigen ( Glas, Unterboden, Dach, faire Tankregelung, Vollkasko...) Und bitte vorher den Wagen auf Schäden überprüfen, damit die es notieren. Aber alles ging reibungslos und ohne Probleme. Deshalb sehr zu empfehlen.

Staff rude and patronising. We arrived after midnight and tired after travelling, staff tried to sell extras for insurance/vandalism damage. Told we would be charged €300 for stone chips. Didn’t go through all paperwork properly with us and charged on return for a parcel shelf that wasn’t in the car when we picked it up. Disgusted. Spoiled the end of a fantastic holiday.

We have just arrived at drive on holidays. Despite on the booking being told you pick up the car at the airport terminal, this was not the case. We had to wait a long time for a shuttle bus.
We then arrived at 9.30pm to the office but we were then told there is an extra charge of 30 euros as we picked up after 8pm. This charge was not explained when the booking took place. AVOID AT ALL COST.

Don’t be fooled by the low prices. Unless you purchase their insurance/scratch protection you will be charged an astronomical amount for an imperfection that is more than likely not your fault. The reception staff was nice but the manager was an absolute nightmare to deal with. If you are going to book with this company take pictures of every dent/ding/scratch.

Very new car, no issues with taking the car, none with returning it. Fast shuttle service. We had a minor issue with a brand new Fiat which gave engine indicator lights for no apparent reason.

I rented a car, bought full insurance and didn't have excess. So, please read more reviews of you want to know more about that.
You can save around 7€ by not enabling the highways tolling device and set in your navigation system to avoid highways.
Don't be shocked if you didn't find an office at the airport. A shuttle bus from their company will pick you up from the location and drive around 2 kilometers (3 mins) to the main office where you will pick your car. The shuttle bus is usually a 6 persons bus so if you are more than 6 you will be divided.
Everything went smooth for me.

Hatte keinerlei Probleme. Ob man eine Versicherung möchte oder nicht, sollte man sich vorher klarmachen - dann muss man sich nichts aufschwatzen lassen.
Das Auto war genau entsprechend dem Angebot ein 1er BMW Sport Line und kein “oder ähnliche”. Bei der Rückgabe ging der Mitarbeiter deutlich weniger gründlich vor, als bei der Aufnahme der Altkratzer bei der Annahme - so soll es sein. Alles in allem Super.

Third time with Drive on Holidays and for me is the best car rental in Faro, very friendly and polite staff, no hidden or extra costs, no pushing for extra insurance. In my last trip I had to stay longer than planned and for some stupid reason I hired a car from Goldcar, what a regret, from now on I'll stick with Drive on Holidays, I highly recommend.

Correct and furthermore a nice car (apart from broken rear light and scratches). Only downside was low tire pressure, but fixed when pointed out. Don't charge you for unnecessary things. Second time I rented here, for me no other companies any more.

Entreprise de voleur, les assurances ont coûté plus cher que la voiture elle-même, ils font exprès de pas comprendre la langue pour vous facturer, très mauvaises explications. Je vous déconseille fortement cette agence car vous allez regretté et gaspillé votre argent, le personnel est pas du tout organisé.

Olá boa tarde. Venho por este meio avisar para não alugarem carro nesta empresa pois é uma empresa que a clássifico com zero. No dia 7 de maio tinha alugado por internet através do site um carro para 3 dias aqui em Faro, o meu marido pagou então o aluguer para os três dia e deixou de causão de 880 em cartão de crédito , até aí tudo direitinho. Cheguei a Faro então no dia 7 de Avião Porto Faro para passar 3 dias em Sevilha. Quando cheguei então a sede desta empresa para ir buscar o carro com os papéis todos direitinhos, pediram-me novamente 880€ de causão mas do meu cartão de crédito uma vez que eu era a condutora, é muito mais dilheiro, eu até não sei dizer quando pois não entendia o que a senhora me estava a pedir, eu disse então que o meu marido já tinha pago a caução e o aluguer, mas de nada me serviu, a senhora queria mesmo 880€ de caução aonde eu não tinha esses valor no meu cartão, eu fiquei em pânico pois não tinha forma de adquirir o carro, ainda telefonei para o meu banco mas só tinha disponível 24horas depois. Pediu-me também uma quantia absurda para conduzir em Espanha 37€ por ser alugado, enfim. Fiquei sem carro eu disse que dava dilheiro líquido para me resolver a situação e disse que pagava com o cartão de devíto, de nada serviu. Fiquei sem chão não me ajudaram de forma nenhuma , não tinha como me deslocar para Sevilha. Entrei em pânico só me faltou chorar, pus a hipótese de ir de comboio, de autocarro, de taxi 300€ só ida de avião sei lá. Nada o autocarro já tinha partido, Aviao só Faro Sevilha, comboio não há a única forma era mesmo táxi. Mas ainda há gente boa dirigi-me ao balcão de informação e pedi ajuda., uma senhora que lhe agradeço até hoje salvou-me a vida arranjou outra empresa de carros e tive que pagar novamente outro aluguer de carro aonde me ficou muito caro, mas o que importa é que eu e a minha filha conseguimos chegar a Sevilha vivas. Só para terem uma ideia perdi quase o dia das minhas férias pois cheguei a faro as 9h da manhã e cheguei a Sevilha as 18horas hora de lá. Façam muita atenção esta agência é muito perigosa pois uma solução arranja-se sempre uma vez que já estava tudo pago. Fiquei traumatizada com tal situação que nunca me aconteceu sou uma pessoa viajada não ando nisto a 2 dias. Muito atenção

I rented a car for 37€ for 4 days with 1100 deposit . The car had 45 000 km with some scratches andasome bipbip that I didn't ubderstund but it worked well . Check it properly when you got the car and take care of it. Check also the wheel pressure . Everything goes right for me .

Sadly i checked the reviews only after we had some trouble. Pretty much everything negative you can find in all the reviews sums the problems up pretty well.
Problems finding the shuttle busses, no place in the bus for the whole family, they try to sell their own expensive insurances telling you that your doesnt Count, we had 2 broken tires, the phone assistence was terrible, child seat was like 20 years old and didnt work properly...
There were also things which were not negative but all in all never again

Eigentlich alles gut verlaufen. Auto war ein bisschen klapprig für die teilweise schlechten Straßen, aber trotzdem in Ordnung.
Nervig war die Autoübernahme, da uns eine extra Versicherung aufgeschwatzt werden sollte. Übergabe ist dagegen schnell und sehr freundlich abgelaufen. Gerne wieder.

Renting car went well. Was a new car. But a few downsides.... Transport from airport took long. When I wanted to drive away, somebody from the company in a car almost hit me at great speed...still on the premises! In the morning when delivering the car it took long time also with transport back to airport.

First time with drive on holidays, but I’m sure not it’s not the last. There was some confusion about contacting the company rep on arrival as the info from the rental company I used said they would be in the arrivals hall, in fact you need to go out to the car park where they have a little office, and the pickup bus.
Once at the offices, the process was simple, with none of the hard sell some companies try with extra insurance etc. The car was brand new (13km) and was exactly the model ordered. The cheery staff were very efficient at getting everything ready despite it being the end of a long day for everyone.
The return process was also simple and pain-free, with a swift transfer back to the airport car park with a very cheerful and helpful driver.

Das positive zuerst: Der Wagen fuhr sich gut und war in ordentlichem Zustand - dachten wir zumindest.
Dass man in Faro eigenständig zum Parkplatz P4 laufen muss, anstatt endlos im Terminal herumzuwarten, weiß man nach dem ersten Mal. Ebenfalls, dass die Vermieter mit Horrorstories Druck machen, eine Zusatzversicherung abzuschließen - geschenkt. Wir hatten zum Glück die Premiumversicherung eines bekannten Vergleichsportals mit der 24 im Namen vorab gebucht.
Schon kritischer ist, dass auf der Kreditkarte 2100 € statt 2000 € Kaution geblockt werden - meines Erachtens Absicht, um Kunden mit einem Kartenlimit von nur 2000 € die exorbitant teure Zusatzversicherung aufdrücken zu können. Zum Glück hatten wir vorher das Kleingedruckte studiert.
Die böse Überraschung kam jedoch am Schluss:
Sofort, nachdem wir auf den Hof gefahren waren, machten sich mehrere Mitarbeiter auffällig und wie auf Befehl daran, den Unterboden des Fahrzeugs zu "inspizieren" - um uns dann mitzuteilen, dass wir diesen beschädigt hätten, und nun 500 Euro für ein Plastikteil fällig wären. Natürlich hatten wir den Unterboden bei Übernahme des Wagens weder geprüft, noch fotografiert - wer denkt schon daran! Wir hatten den Wagen definitiv nicht aufgesetzt - was den herbeigerufenen Chef, dem schon gierig die Eurozeichen in den Augen leuchteten, natürlich nicht die Bohne interessierte.
Nach Bad-Cop-Good-Cop-Manier kam dann sogleich ein freundlicher Mitarbeiter herbei, führte die Abbuchung von unserer Kreditkarte durch, und erklärte uns dann ausführlich, wie wir den Schaden bei der deutschen Versicherung wieder einfordern könnten. Er war sogar so nett, uns daran zu erinnern, Fotos vom Schaden zu machen. Ein Schelm, wer übles dabei denkt!
Fazit: Bei "Drive on Holidays" ist man professionell darauf trainiert, Kunden mit externer Versicherung eiskalt abzuzocken. Wer keine Lust darauf hat, sich so am Ende des Urlaubs diesen zum Abschluss ordentlich versauen zu lassen, dem empfehle ich, einen großen Bogen um diesen Laden zu machen.
Zum Glück: Die deutsche Versicherung hat inzwischen anstandslos bezahlt. Daher: In Portugal stets alle Zusatzschäden (Reifen, Unterboden, Glas) mit absichern!

We visit Faro every year and this was the first time we've used Drive On Holidays.
I must admit I was somwhat apprehensive due to some of the negative reviews found on the company, but our experience with Drive on Holidays was excellent.
Collection and drop off were extremely smooth, quick and efficient.
Staff were very friendly and pleasant.
I've read some reviews about people being charged for sand in their cars. We went to the beach everyday, but we were tactful in placing beach towels down in the car boot and seats. Yes, there was sand in the car when we returned it and no, we weren't charged. But my guess is you will get charged if you bring the beach back with you!
The only small issue were the queues for collection transfers at the airport, as it was high season and in particular, people pushing in who have no patience!. My advice to Drive on Holidays is to organise an orderly collection queue for transfers. My advice to customers is to give yourself sufficient time for transfers.
Overall, the whole experience was very good and yes I would recommend Drive on holidays.

Look, take care when you book with any of the budget car rental companies. Most of them will rip you off. Any little scrape and they will charge you for it. Before you drive off or sign the contract, photo the car and show them any scrapes and enter them on the contract document. This applies to all Budget Car Companies.

I had a bad experience and I can't recommend this company. They sold me a vandalism insurance for 40 euros which was unnecessary, because it was already covered from my agency I booked the car at and I showed the staff my contract of this insurance before. It is still money making and rip-off.

never ever again. Niemand am vereinbarten Meetingpoint in Faro. Fast eine Stunde auf eine Mitarbeiterin gewartet, die uns zu P 4 brachte. Wieder auf den Shuttle gewartet. Im Büro zeitintensive Vertragsabwicklung mit Druck, eine Zusatzversicherung abzuschliessen (wurde von uns nicht gemacht). Viele Beulen am Auto, die aber schrifltich (und fotografisch von uns ) festgehalten wurden. Transponder für Autobahnmaut kostet € 16,95. Wie gesagt never ever again.

I booked through holiday autos and paid extra for the insurance to reduce the excess to €0. The employee at the faro office then told me I had to pay another €160 for the same thing. He took €2100 deposit despite the fact that I’d paid for the extra insurance. These people are scammers; beware!!

Vanuit Nederland bij sunnycars geboekt. Ging erg soepel en naar verwachting zoals van te voren goed geïnformeerd was. In faro konden we ons aanmelden bij de balie en vervoer van en naar vliegveld was al geregeld. Ter plekke alleen nog maar uitleg over de auto, geen papier winkel. Ik zal hier zeker weer huren.

Péssimo serviço: a funcionária que fez a inspeção antes de me entregar o carro nem sequer reparou nas almogadelas e riscos que o carro já tinha. Tirei inúmeras fotos antes de receber o carro porque já fiquei desconfiado. Ao entregar o carro detetaram 2 danos no carro que me queriam cobrar 1 dos quais claramente visível numa das fotos que tirei mas o outro não era visível e cobraram me 1100€. Fiz uma reclamação e a minha sorte é que tenho seguro. Tenham cuidado com esta companhia
Poor service: The clerk who did the inspection before handing over the car did not even notice the hazards and scratches that the car already had. I took lots of pictures before I got the car because I was suspicious. When i delivered the car they detected 2 damages in the car they wanted to charge me 1 of which was clearly visible in one of the photos I took but the other was not visible and charged me € 1100. I made a complaint and my luck is that I have insurance. Be careful with this company.

Finden des Shuttle Service am Flughafen nicht ganz einfach, es holte uns niemand wie erwartet vor dem Vodafone Laden ab, sondern wir mussten zu P4 laufen. Dort stand ein Shuttle Service bereit und in Kürze erreichten wir Drive in Holidays. Dort versuchten sie uns natürlich (so wie bei vielen Autovermietungen) eine Zusatzversicherung aufzuquatschen, die wir jedoch ablehnten. Frau am Schalter trotz dessen sehr nett. Dann wurde mit uns zusammen der Wagen sehr gründlich auf Schäden kontrolliert und alles notiert. Auto fuhr sich perfekt, Rückgabe am Ende funktionierte auch problemlos. Alles in allem: super Preis-Leistungsverhältnis!

Terrible experience. Will never us this company again. First, the instructions on the reservation confirmation stated that a representative would meet us at a specified meeting point in the airport. This did not happen. There are no signs for this company anywhere in the airport. We wandered throughout the terminal looking for assistance. I eventually called the company. They told us we had to go outside to parking lot 4 to look for a shuttle van to take us to the rental car counter 10 minutes drive away from the airport. We looked outside, but again saw no signs anywhere for this company. Since it was pouring down rain and storming outside we did not want to wander around the parking lot with our child and luggage. The company said they would send a representative to the meeting point to find us. We waited another 30 minutes and no one came. After the rain slowed down, we made our way on our own to parking lot 4, and finally located the shuttle van. We had to wait some more for the van to make several trips before it was our turn. When we finally made it to the rental counter, we were told that we were required to either purchase rental car insurance or give them a 1,100€ deposit even though we already purchased full coverage insurance through the booking agency when we reserved the car. This is unacceptable! Then we were pressured into buying a toll package in order to avoid fines on the highway. What??? So, 2.5 hours after arriving to the airport, we finally got in our rental car, which ended up costing more than tripple the quoted price. Worst start to a vacation!!

Apprendre qu'ils n'ont pas de bureau à l'aéroport après réservation. Attendre 1 heure au point de rendez vous donné. Appeler 8 fois avant d'avoir une réponse pour informer que le point de rendez vous est ailleur et se faire raccrocher au nez parce qu'on demande de répéter. Service et communication déplorable

Na het op voorhand lezen van de reviews met een bang hartje de auto gaan ophalen, geen problemen ondervonden. De kosten die nog ter plaatste betaald moest worden was bekend. Inleveren van de auto ging ook vlot en werden meteen terug gebracht naar het vliegveld. Boeking was via Sunny Cars incl. alle verzekeringen. Keurige nette auto meegekregen in zelfde autoklasse als gevraagd. Enkel lage bandenspanning..

Hele slechte ervaringen met dit bedrijf. 2 keer zelfs (de tweede keer zat de huurauto bij de reis in en we wisten niet dat Sunny Cards en Drive on Holidays hetzelfde waren). Tot 2 keer toe hebben we extra moeten betalen voor de verzekering die we beide keren al eerder hadden afgekocht. Hoofdbestuurder moest ook de naam op de creditcard zijn, wat ook niet is medegedeeld van te voren. Om dit aan te passen moesten we ook extra betalen. Echt een malafide bedrijf die ook niet heeft gereageerd op mijn schriftelijke klacht achteraf. Heb echt ruzie gehad met de onvriendelijke mensen achter de balie. NOOIT meer dit bedrijf en ik raad ook al mijn kennissen en vrienden hen af.

Totale Abzocke ! Wie schon mehrfach hier erwähnt wird versucht, einem eine zusatzversicherung zum Wegfall der Selbstbeteiligung anzudrehen. Es werden einem leider auch andere wichtige dinge vorenthalten, wie z.b die kosten der "Maut" auf dem highway, aber man bekommt versprochen für 12.95 kann man 1 Woche den highway komplett nutzen ohne zusätzliche Kosten!
Leider dadurch sehr überteuert am ende.
Nicht umbedingt empfehlenswert. Einzig Positive , das Auto war in Ordnung.

09.2018 über Check 24 gebucht. Statt 270,- Euro waren es am Ende 520,- Euro für 2 Wochen! Der übliche Versicherungsabzock. Der Wagen total verkratzt, verbeult, und auch nach Wagenwäsche verschmutzt. :-(

They are like two separate companies: one that sells cars and insurances, other that collects the same car.
We paid additional 200+ € for total insurance but they still found a small text on third page of the contract that made us pay 75€ for a scratch on the tyre.
Unfair.

Location très bien passée pour 200e véhicule pr une semaine avec badge autoroute. On a pris l'assurance qui ne nous a pas servit mais on était tranquille. Personnel agréable, juste la navette à revoir elle est vétuste.

Réservation effectuée via Carigami pour avoir toutes les assurances et pas de caution à verser. Du coup aucun frais supplémentaires à part le boîtier pour l'autoroute et la taxe pour traverser la frontière espagnole (30,00€). J'enlève une étoile parce que dans un des minibus qui fait la liaison aéroport-agence, certaines ceintures de sécurité sont cassées.

Bien pratique quand on veut louer une voiture pour pas très cher. Par contre bien faire attention à l'état des lieux au moment de la prise en charge de la voiture certains impact peuvent échapper à la vigilance du commercial. Un premier bureau se trouve sur le parking devant l'aéroport il y a ensuite une navette pour nous conduire à leur agence située à 5 mn et récupérer la voiture louée. Je recommande ce loueur.

The manager of the Faro car rental branch, was rude, dishonest and when challenged about his chicanery, he physically assaulted me, grabbed my mobile phone and threatened to kill me.
Needless to say this matter was reported to the authorities .

The shuttle service from the airport is okay. When you arrive at the company, you are given the choice to take out an insurance policy or you have to pay a large deposit with your credit card. This despite an insurance that you have already taken out online. This insurance would not be sufficient according to the employee. If you want to get on the highway you have to pay extra and if you want to cross the border you also have to pay extra. The car that is was provided was covered in scratches and dents. I therefore recommend the excess waiver insurance.

Absolut nicht empfehlenswert. Uns wurde eine Zusatzversicherung aufgedrängt, obwohl wir Vollkasko ohne Selbstbeteiligung gewählt hatten. Wir hatten über Check24 gebucht und es gab keine Dokumente auf Portugiesisch, die das belegen konnten. Es wurde immer wieder gesagt, dass wir eine Versicherung mit ihnen bräuchten, weil das Auto ja auch ihnen gehöre. Also haben wir im Endeffekt nochmal das Gleiche wie schon für das Auto für die Versicherung bezahlt. Dann wurden wir noch dazu gedrängt für die Benutzung des Mautgerätes zu zahlen. Das konnte man auch nur sofort dort im Büro machen, später wäre das nicht mehr möglich und wenn man ohne aktives Mautgerät die Autobahn benutze, würde es um ein Vielfaches teurer werden. Wir haben es dann gemacht und mittlerweile wurde uns von der Kreditkarte etwas abgebucht, obwohl wir keine Autobahn benutzt hatten. Frechheit, nie wieder!!!

Bei Ankunft wird penetrant versucht, einem teure Zusatzversicherungen zu verkaufen, obwohl über Check24 bereits eine Vollkasko abgeschlossen wurde. Auf der Kreditkarte wird ein Betrag von 1.100€ geblockt. Zudem fallen Gebühren für die Nutzung der Autobahn hinzu, die gleich beim Autovermieter beglichen werden können. Die Rückgabe verlief wiederum unkompliziert und freundlich. Dennoch kein gutes Gefühl, in einer Atmosphäre der Angst vor hohen Kosten und bösen Überraschungen in den Urlaub zu starten. Wer sich nicht so leicht einschüchtern lässt oder einen besonderen Adrenalinkick zum Urlaubsstart braucht, ist hier aber richtig.

Do not use this car rental company unless you do not mind waiting over one hour. When you book a car from airport you expect it to be at the airport. Not to have to wait around with lots of other infuriated holiday makers for an old scrapper mini bus to take you over a mile away to the depot where your car is. The minibus can only take 7 people at a time. The minibus is in constant use taking people to and from the airport from the depot so lots of waiting at busy times. When you have just got off a flight you want to get going not wait further. When we got to depot, more queues and then hard-sell for extra insurance. Then the car...wow. Bumper hanging off, scuffs and scratches on every panel. Warning lights on dashboard. An absolute joke! Never again. Pay the extra and go for a proper company!

Wij kregen een auto mee waar verkeerde brandstof inzat. We kwamen met moeite op plek van bestemming aan en kregen de schuld van de foute brandstof. Sunnycars heeft geregeld dat wij een andere auto kregen. Bij inruil van deze auto moesten we toch de kosten van de foute brandstof van de 1e auto betalen. Onder dwang van een heel onaardige manager. Hebben we uiteindelijk wel terug ontvangen van Sunny Cars. De 2e auto had te zachte banden. Daarvan kwam telkens een melding in het dashboard. Wij hopen daar nooit meer te komen.

A fuir carrément c’est une entreprise ou les voitures sont affichés a un prix attractif sur le site ,et ensuite vous vous retrouvez a la fin une facture et un prix de reviens de trois fois le prix escompté .
Les assurances ne valent que pour être payées mais ne sont pas valable a enlèvement il faut en reprendre d'autre

donc un souplement de 30 euros vous sont ponctionnés si vous voulez rendre votre-voiture a 7h du matin ils ouvre une fois mais les clients sont 6/7 a payer tous 30 euros je vous laisse méditer la dessus .
tout ça pour être a l’heure a l'embarquement ou vous rendez votre voiture la veille et Là ,vous perdez une demie journée et une nuit de location et tant pis pour vous

Naciagacze! Nie informują o prawdziwych kosztach wynajmu. Pracują cała dobę ale za godziny od 8pm do 8 am liczą sobie dodatkowo 30 € za obsługę. Ponadto kierowca z busa to jakiś psychopata na rondzie puszcza kierownicę, prawie wjechal w barjerke a podczas wsiadania przytrzasnol mojemu dziecku palce drzwiami i żadnego przepraszam! Odradzam

Can you see the scratch on the side of the car ? That costs 150 Euros!!! Avoid them-poor customer service, the car could hardly pass the MOT. But if you decide to go with them take photos of every square inches of the car before you drive away!!!!!

Traitement des touristes odieux, je n'ai jamais vu ça !
Nous avions une "carte débit" donc d'entrée de jeu le manager nous retire 1500€ (franchise d'assurance) qu'il nous restituera à la fin de la location. C'est son droit mais il a été très agressif en disant que "c'est son pays, sa langue et ses règles !" lorsque je lui ai dit que c'était bien la première fois qu'on me demandait cela.
Poussif pour que l'on prenne l'autre option d'assurance à 300€ cash. Il nous a dit que ça allait mettre 1 mois (alors qu'en 48h c'était réglé) avant de récupérer la somme nous poussant donc vers cette solution.
Un conseil, ne tombez pas dans le panneau des 300€ d'assurance, demandez à votre banque quels droits vous bénéficiez pour une location de voiture et faites faire une "carte de crédit" par votre banque pour que la somme des 1500€ soit figée et non déduite.
De plus, la voiture (Renault Captur) était dans un état dégueulasse (pas d'autre mot) ! Poussière extérieur, pas lavée, trace de crème solaire sur les portières, du sable au sol etc. Lorsque que je lui ai fait remarquer au check-out il m'a dit que c'était normal parce que les gens étaient allé à la plage ... Je croyais rêver !

Das geliehene Auto hat von vornherein Fehlermeldungen wie Ölwechsel, aber auch tatsächliche Schäden wie die ausgefallene Park-Distance-Control. Zudem wird der Tank nicht voll übergeben sondern immer so, wie der vorherige ihn gelassen hat. Besonders bescheuert: Wer den Wagen vor 8 Uhr abgeben will/muss, der muss 30€ für den "After hour service" zahlen, auch wenn der Laden schon völlig normal in Betrieb ist. Auf den Shuttle vom Flughafen haben wir über eine Stunde gewartet...

Das Personal war unfreundlich und aufdringlich. Trotz mehrfachem, freundlichen Ablehnen wurde uns auf sehr unverschämte Weise versucht ein Betrag zur Verringerung der Selbstbeteiligung abzuknüpfen. Dann wollte man uns schnell die Schlüssel in die Hand drücken und nur wiederwillig Kratzer und Beulen dokumentieren. Auto war in Ordnung, wir mussten bei der Abgabe allerdings noch Sand etc. selbst entfernen.

extremely poor client service - overcharge at return !
I rented in July 2018 a SUV for 2 weeks from - to Lisboa. Upon return a Drive on Holiday employee told me that I Need to pay 50 Euro extra because of sand in the car. Are there any beaches in Portugal...?? of course ! It seemed absolutely unfair but the most unprofessional was that the Supervisor of the Airport Office not even looked at me when I asked him to check with me personally the car. He stared at his Computer Screen, grumbled that "I care for every Client " (.. !) and argued that at the Airport other companies would even Charge more ! My written complaint to the Company management never resulted in any solution of the situation. Poor Service - never again !

O veículo foi entregue sujo.Foi cobrado uma taxa de €24,39 é mais 23% de impostos por ter retirado o carro entre 20h e 8h. Isso não estava claro antes de alugar o carro.

High prices and incredibly slow service at arrival (think we waited in line for 1 - 1.5 hours, prebooked). Says in the booking that they will meet up at the airport but you have to figure out for yourself that there is actually a short transfer via mini-bus and where the bus stop is. Bunch of extra fees and insurances that press the prices up. Got the feeling that they will try to extract your deposit if you dont have the recommended insurance.
Nothing wrong with the car we rented, got an upgrade when the type of car we booked was out. Time-wise everything went smooth when we returned the car.

Absolutely shocking service. I found at the end of the rental that my friend was charged for CDW despite stating he did not want this. I never get CDW as I have a separate policy for this which covers all drivers. When I returned the car 7 hours early I was told that it was the end of the rental and this could not be refunded. It should never have been charged in the first place. Thieves. Save your money and got to inter rent or surprice. The car was disgraceful, smashed bumper, squealing brakes, dirty, all in all the worst rental I have ever had in Portugal. Well done drive on holidays for being the worst rental provider in Portugal. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The worst car rental company ever. It's located outside of airport and you have to walk with your luggage to a shuttle. My car was not ready on time and I had to wait for 40 minutes while staff was preparing it. In the meantime I was left without information and staff was just not answering my questions - unfriendly people. Will never go again

When renting the car the card machine wouldn't work for the insurance so we had to pay extra £150 to take out extra insurance from them. Very strange as it worked a few minutes earlier to add on a driver and the bank said no attempts were made to use the card after the driver add on payment?! But we had to pay it or we couldn't get a car so they had us over a barrel......

Abholung in Porto lief nicht ganz optimal, da der Shuttlebus nicht zu finden war, jedoch waren das Personal freundlich und der Mietwagen war zwar verschrammt und hatte schon 60.000 km- aber er lief. Abgabe war supereinfach und schnell. Reservierte Kaution wurde sofort bei Rückgabe von Kreditkarte gelöscht.

We were annoyed upon returning the car - we paid for seven full days, but our flight was too early in the morning on the last day (the car rental would be closed at that hour) so we returned it one day early. The fees were said to include a ride from AND to the airport. We had to stay in the city for a night before our flight and the rental company refused to take us back to the city, to the airport from another location or to refund our fee for the airport shuttle. It is not much money lost but I expected better service, there could have been more flexibility. Instead the cashier bluntly refused to do anything about it. That pissed me off.
We mentioned this to the staff at the start of our trip, she confirmed that a return to the airport was included and that we should call them beforehand. We tried calling all info numbers at morning, noon and afternoon and nobody ever answered.
Almost everything other than that went smoothly, the car was new, pick up from the airport was slow but the driver was nice. You have to go into the airport parking lot to find it and wait for room on a shuttle that carries 8 people - for us this was about a 40 minute wait, but of course it depends on the day and as I said, the driver was very professional and nice.

Do not use this car rental company! Was told that a guy would pick us up at the airport and take us to the car in 3 minutes That didn't happen. Waited for 40 minutes and tried to call. Number was not in use. Asked around and found out that we had to take a shuttle bus there. Got no apologies. Then I had to answer questions I already had answered when I booked. Took another 30 mins. Wanted extra money for driving on highways. When I booked: "no extra fees". Yeah right. I could go on and on. Turned out to be twice as expensive. Had to deliver car there to. Even though I booked pick up and delivery at airport. Will never use these again!

Hired from here for 4 days back in June. £18 for 4 days, cant't beat that. Good instructions on who to meet at the airport. They instructed us to go to go to car park 4 to get the shuttle. This is the main problem, the shuttle only takes 8 people and we had to wait for the 3rd trip before our turn came. The shuttle only takes 5 minutes to get to the car hire place so next time I might just get a cab. Seen at the counter straight away, given the usual speech about taking out their insurance, which would have been 45 euros for the 4 days. I declined as I took out my own travel hire insurance for £10. No problem, no pressure. But if you don't take their package they take £850 as security from your credit card. Shown to our car (Fiat 500), where everything was and we were on our way.
When we came back went into the arrivals building, swift finalizing of documents, no check at all around the car and £850 returned to my card there and then.
Will definitely use them again after hearing some horror stories of car hire places in Portugal

So, we rented a Fiat 500 for three months on sabbatical in the Algarve. Our trip was fantastic, and the car was as it should have been. Also, Drive on Holidays was the cheapest option by a few hundred euro. HOWEVER, after we returned our vehicle and our $300 deposit was "pre-authorized", it never cleared my credit card account. I called and chatted online with DOH support several times and it soon became apparent that regardless of the spotless condition we returned our car in, we were never going to see our deposit again. I'm certain this is not the first time Americans (or those from other nations) have been taken advantage of, and the reviews prove it.
I have also since been re-billed(!!) an additional $351 more than 2 months after our trip ended and of course I have no documentation to prove it, because who keeps car rental paper work months after they return home. Maybe it's my fault?
The agency at Faro Airport is as corrupt as they come. Don't be fooled by the low price, if it seems too good to be true, well you know the rest... shame on Drive on Holidays!

voiture sale, impossible de mettre en marche le climat qui dégage une odeur étrange, la voiture signale des problèmes qui ne peuvent pas être effacés, le GPS et les commandes de la voiture mis dans une langue étrangère que même le personnel ne peut changer, voiture complètement cassée du côté passager , les assurances complémentaires très chères, voiture sale à l'intérieur. Pour le prix payé très très très déçu.

Pas contente du tout déjà j ai jamais trouvé la navette et j ai du marché 15 min a pied avec les valises. Une fois la bas j avais réservé pour une voiture il me dise 19 euros pour un conducteur supplémentaire ensuite 8euros pour le badge autoroute en plus et la le pire ils ne me prennent pas ma carte de crédit ni celui de mon mari seul solution payer leur assurance qui ne sert à rien à 85 euros encore a additionner a la facture finalement le d ou le du prix initial je ne suis vraiment pas satisfaite !!! Je ne recommande absolument pas !!!

Lors de la réservation il est noté qu un personnel nous attendra a la sortie de l'avion dans l'aéroport...nous aurions pu attendre et chercher longtemps, la personne de l'agence était assise a une table d'une cafétéria avec un mini panneau pas visible du tout. Elle nous a guidé vers le parking où la navette viendrait nous cherche. Un monde fou pour prendre la navette, très peu de place. Arrivé à l'agence, l'attente est interminable, heureusement nous étions avec une locale qui a un peu fait bouger les choses. Le retour de la voiture était un peu plus rapide, mais même problème avec la navette, il y a trop peu de place dans la camionnette par rapport au nombre de personne qui patiente...

They need more staff and bigger shuttle buses. Was a horrible experience from airport to car rental. 1 driver, 8 seater bus, about 30+ passengers waiting at airport to be shuttled to the car rental place. That poor driver had to contend with angry, tired passengers who had been waiting in the sun. Not his fault, it's the fault of the owners of this company. Sort yourselves out!! Rant aside, dropping off car and getting to airport was stress free.

Hired a car from them the very next day the car broke down. We were told a taxi would pick us up and take us back to Faro ( a 3hr round trip) with waiting for taxi, waiting at care hire place we lost the first day of our holiday. NAO USE ESTA EMPRESA. Quando cheguei ao aeroporto de faro nao estava ninguem para nos informar onde tinhamos que nos dirigir para ir buscar o carro, la fui mais a minha amiga e as nossas criancas a um lugar no meio do parque de estacionamento onde fui informada que uma carrinha iria passar ali para nos buscar, esperei 1h30 ao sol com as criancas pois nao existe nenhuma sombra, la fomos para o lugar onde estao os carros, foi nos dado um carro que nem tinha cobertura da bagageira nem receptor de radio. Outro carro nos foi dado, durante tentamos ligar para a central para extender o tempo de aluguer e por 6 dias foi nos cobrado mais 500 euros do que tinhamos pago inicialmente por 2 semanas de aluguer . Ao entregar o carro na agencia no aeroporto de Faro a atendente veio nos dizer que tinhamos que pagar 300 euros por um corte que estava no pneu, por sorte a minha amiga que viajou comigo tinha tirado fotos ao carro antes de sair com o carro e ao ver as fotos tiradas reparamos que o corte no pneu ja la estava desde o inicio do aluguer. Entregamos o carro 2 dias mais cedo, onde nos foi dito pelo atendente que se o fizemos iramos receber o reembolso, mentira ficaram com o nosso dinheiro. empresa que NUNCA MAIS IREI USAR. EVITAR O MAXIMO.

Bei dem ersten Auto war die Kupplung durch, kaum fahrbar. bekamen dann nach Rückfrage ein anderes, was okay war.

Low initial rate but the car we rented had plenty of scratches.
They managed find one we hadn’t taken a picture of & charged us €400 & they charged us an additional €30 for collecting after 8pm.

Very good company for a rental car. We rented a Ford Focus wagon. The car was in tiptop shape.
They are quick in handling the paperwork en are extremely clear in explanation of the rental agreement.
When you return the car it's handled in the same speed.
The only but is: you have to walk with your lugage to the P4 meeting point on the parking of Faro Airport. This is slightly uphill. We had 4 suitcases and a buggy. Then it's quite a climb. From P4 you are transfered by a shuttlebus to the company itself.
When you returned the car, it's the other way around.
All the other rental services are next to Faro Airport on a small walking distance.
The expertise and handling however, makes it worth to choose this rental service.

Il faut bien se renseigner avant de louer et ne pas se plaindre après coup!!
J'ai épluché les différents avis et commentaires avant de louer et je n'ai eu aucunes surprises en louant une voiture avec ce prestataire.
- Le loueur est EN DEHORS de l’aéroport mais il y a une une navette qui vous y conduit en moins de 10 minutes. Il faut se diriger vers le comptoir vodafone puis vers le parking P4.
- si vous souhaitez souscrire une assurance tout risque il faut la prendre sur place et non en ligne au moment de louer .
- si vous ne souscrivez pas d'assurance supplémentaire une franchise de 1100 (à 2100 selon le modèle) sera pris sur votre carte de crédit. Il faut donc avoir un plafond et un montant suffisant sur votre compte. Ce montant est annulé si tout va bien au moment de la restitution du véhicule. (Electron, Amex, etc ne fonctionne pas)
- les autoroutes portugaises ont des péages électroniques (A22 dans le sud) Pour les empruntez ,vous devez avoir un petit appareil collé sur le pare prise + payer après coup chaque portion utilisée. Le loueur vous loue l'appareil mais il est normal que ce soit à vous de régler les portions d'autoroutes utilisées!
Personnellement, j'ai loué 3 fois avec ce loueur (2 fois à Faro et 1 fois à Lisbonne) J'ai refusé les assurances supplémentaires et le boitier du péage, ma carte bleu visa à MON NOM a été utilisé pour la franchise de 1100 € (j'avais suffisamment sur mon compte et j'avais augmenté le plafond des achats sur 30 jours de ma CB afin que cela passe)
Je fais l'état des lieux au départ dans le détail, je prends des photos avec mon mobile des bobos présents et je demande de mentionner toutes les marques sur la carrosserie, rayures rétros, impact pare brise, et aussi les BAS DE CAISSES avant et arrière, etc et je fais une photo du document que j'ai complété avec l'agence.
Au final je paye moins de 500 € pour 3 semaines de location et je n'utilise que les routes sans péages électroniques pour un véhicule d'un an environ.

Surtout allez louer un peu plus chère ailleurs mais n'allez pas ici. Les offres sont attractives mais une fois sur place on vous fais payer des choses en plus, et à la restitution de la voiture tout est prétexte pour vous faire payer la.moindre petite chose.
Ça ne mérite même pas une étoile.
Bref plus jamais.

Use somewhere else if you can. Pretty terrible car rental place. They only take a credit card in the name of the main driver and don't take Amex. If you don't have one, the only way around this is to pay the full insurance premium, which was €100 for the cheapest car. Then they charged us another €15 for a device to electronically pay tolls, which we later realised was built into the car anyway. On top of that, they're not even in the airport and you have to walk 20 minutes to get there.

Very good value for money. Only catch is that you have to get a shuttle (every 10 min) to the place and on arrival there is a person waiting for you to tell you where they are parked. It would help if they texted or emailed where the location of the van is, so you don't have to wait. Car was exactly the one I have selected in line (not similar) and in excellent condition.

Auto gaf melding dat de achterband niet genoeg lucht had. Je zou verwachten dat bij aflevering dit in orde zou zijn, gecontroleerd zou zijn
Als je 'n auto ontvangt, let dan goed op schades en dat deze op je huur overeenkomst komen te staan

A very easy hire at a great rate. Like almost all hire companies, if you decline their excess insurance, they will take the whole deposit off your card, not just ring fence it. This does get refunded on return, with no long waits etc.
The company are a short (5min) drive from the airport, and there is a shuttle bus that runs constantly. Beware, that it only holds 8 passengers, with loads of room for luggage, so it can get a bit stressful getting on when they are busy - lots of sharp elbows!
However, if you know about this, and know what to expect, it is a very easy experience (even with 2 small children, pushchairs and car seats), and we'll worth the lower rate compared to an airport based company.
Would use again.

Booked car through Economy Car Rentals and picked up car from Drive on Holidays, Faro. Rented from 9th July to 18th July. Was greeted at Faro Aerport arrivals and walked short distance to bus pick up at car park 4. Taken by mini bus to Drive on Holidays offices a few minutes from Faro Aerport. Very friendly staff and no hard sale at counter. Didn't have to wait to long and car was ready. Inspected car and took photos of any marks inside and out. All marks and scratches were recorded and received copy of same. Car was a Seat Leon, plenty of room for 2 adults & 2 kids. Fuel is return as same. €1,500 holding deposit as agreed. Returned car back at 1pm on the 18th. Very friendly staff member inspected car and deposit returned. Only took 10mins approx and we were taken back to Aerport at 1.10pm with very friendly bus driver. All in all I could not fault Drive on Holidays and they were very professional to deal with.
This is a genunine and honest review of my experience with Drive on Holidays and I would recommend them for car hire .

Horrible experience with them. They were not correct with us. They called us before we took the car to ask us at what time we would like to give them back the car. We told them a certain time and they told us yes without telling us that there would be an extra fee if we gave back the car at this time. The manager wasn't nice at all and didn't want to hear any of it. I would not recomment this company to anyone.

I have used Drive on holiday twice when visiting Portugal for holiday and have never had any issues with them. The first year they were doing a renovation to their property which made it look a bit rough and I have just came back from using them again in their new refurbished property. The car I hired this year was Nissan quashqui and was really good having no issues with vehicle while collecting, driving or on drop off after hire.
I see comments about additional insurance being sold to them. Every hire company tries to sell you additional insurance just make sure you take this out before going and don't feel pressured in to taking this. Do your own research on the insurance you are getting when hiring the car online and upgrade if required.
The worst part about drive on holiday is by far the shuttle bus from the airport to the car rental place. This is a complete unorganised fight with other travellers to get on to the shuttle as there is no signed meeting point or formal queue and is everyone for themselves. This is not an issue on the way back as people seem a bit calmer and not all coming off flights at the same time.
Personally I think there should be a person there at a signed meeting area and do it on a first come first served basis. This would be a much better experience for customers using this company.
There is a taxi rank/stop on the right hand side as you come out of the airport and the rental company is only a few minutes away (this is what we done this year rather than fight to get on the shuttle bus). Some taxi drivers are a bit funny about doing this short trip but just give them a couple of extra euros.

Lieber nicht mehr! Hoffe es gibt bessere Autovermieter in Faro. Wartezeit ca. 2 (zwei) STUNDEN!!! Wir wurden mehrmals vertröstet, dann bekamen wir ein Auto, das keine Versicherung mehr hatte usw.
Die Fahrzeuge waren relativ neu (1600 km und ca. 7000 km) trotzdem sehr ungepflegt, teilweise ekelhaft dreckig!
Personal bemüht, aber überfordert!
Rückgabe schnell und problemlos, deshalb 2 Sterne

Prima auto meegekregen. Nette en snelle transfer van en naar het vliegveld. Je wordt opgehaald en gebracht met een busje op parking num 4. Denk alsjeblieft wanneer je in Portugal en Spanje gaat rijden aan je wieldoppen de wegen in het centrum zijn zo ontzettend smal. Je ziet daar ook weinig auto's zonder schade aan de zijkant. Ik heb de auto gelukkig schade vrij kunnen inleveren.

Poor customer service, the attitude from the assistant was rude and unhelpful.
We arrived in Faro and the credit card I wanted to use (for the security deposit) expired on the day we arrived (the card was accepted at the desk by their system but the assistant then declined it even though it had been accepted and I was able to produce the new card and had spoken to the bank about the security hold). I was travelling with 4 small children at the time and was expected to wait until after midnight to use the new card. It was only after looking online and seeing other people's experiences that I found out about their poor service. I travel to Faro regularly and will certainly not be using Drive on Holidays in the future.

Ziemlich übler Mietwagen-Anbieter. Ich habe das Auto (Kilometerstand 18000km) günstig und mit voll versichert über einen Vermittler gebucht und vor Ort wollte man mir trotzdem weitere Versicherungen andrehen, die für eine Woche über 60€ gekostet hätten. Ein Anruf beim Vermittler hat aber geholfen. Das Mautgerät musste für ca. 13€ (1 Woche) aktiviert werden. Zusätzlich fallen dann noch die eigentlichen Mautkosten an, die man im Nachhinein begleichen muss.
Als Kaution hat der Anbieter 1500€ auf der Kreditkarte reserviert, die er nach der Rückgabe wieder freigegeben hat.
Der Tank war bei der Annahme nur zu 3/4 voll. Zwar musste man ihn auch nur mit dem gleichen Füllstand zurückgeben aber trotzdem nervig. Der Anbieter verfügt über einen Flughafen-Shuttle Service. Die Rückgabe war problemlos.

Vor Ort sehr nettes Personal, mit Englisch kommt man gut hin, Deutsch kann man nicht erwarten. Der Transfer vom Flughafen zur Station ist das erste Abenteuer, der Wagen war ca. 40 Jahre alt. Der Mietwagen selbst war nahezu neu und TOP in Schuß. Vor Ort kam noch die Gebühr für den Mautzähler hinzu. (ca.17 Euro)• Wir waren mit dem Vermieter und dem Wagen in Summe sehr zufrieden und buchen da gern wieder mal.

ACHTUNG - Finger Weg auch wenn sie günstig erscheinen gibts massive versteckte Kosten. z.B. Thema Maut. Sie verkaufen einem für einen Pauschalbetrag nicht wie man denkt die Mautgebühren während der Mietperiode, nein man bezahlt lediglich die "Aktivierung des Mautchips". Die Mautkosten kommen dann bei der Abrechnung oben drauf.
Desweitern sollte man aufpassen, sich nichts weiter andrehen zu lassen. Sie versuchen einem auch wenn man schon Vollkasko gebucht hat weitere Versicherungen zu verkaufen.
Desweiteren ist es wohl gang und gäbe einen Monat später nochmals 18 Euro abzubuchen.
Lieber etwas mehr Geld in die Hand nehmen und zu einem seriöseren Anbieter gehen!

I hope this company improve as soon as possible. I was given a damage vehicle. Charged €98.40 for insurance cover or would have to reserve €1500 on my credit card even though if I had cover from the third party company that sold the car rental. They were eager to sell us their insurance cover at all cost no matter what.
There was an activation fee (€7.50) for the tow fees and likewise deactivation fees that we were not informed about when we rented the car.

Please don’t use this company. We hired a car at Faro Airport, took videos and pictures of the condition of the car (as was suggested by them) and upon returning the car we were told that one of the scratches which we had documented on one of our pictures wasn’t there. We were told it would be 300 Euros. When we disputed that, they immediately reduced the price to 150 Euros but continued saying that the scratch wasn’t there and that it is our responsibility. It was incredibly frustrating as they did not want to discuss anything and kept on saying that they can charge our deposit. When asked the manager (Gregory Pereira) to explain what these charges are based, he said it was his discretion. When we asked him to show us in the terms and conditions where they are allowed to charge arbitrary sums, he refused to do that. Beware, you will be asked to pay a large deposit and even if you dispute the charges, they will debit the deposit. There are a lot of car hire companies that operate from Faro Airport and we would never use Drive on holiday ever again. They will try to rip you of your money at every turn.

Left car with some sand between the seats. Wanted to charge me 30 EUR for cleaning but when I asked where these terms was available they couldn't show me. It was nowhere in my contract. They refered to an e-mail they could not show.
NOT a serious car rental company. Go elsewhere.

Wij waren in November in Portugal.
Zeer goede en snele services, ook de shuttle bus van en naar de airport was prima.
Wij hadden een auto gehuurd met tolkastje dit werkte goed op de hoofdwegen.
Achteraf hoor je dan hoeveel tol je moet betalen contant of via je creditcard zo je wilt.
Zeer tevreden, nergens wachtrijen super.

We rented a car here with a child-seat. Turns out the seat was broken and our child almost went trough the windshield.
Instead of taking responsibility, Drive On just gave the same seat to the next person renting a car.
Please keep you kids safe and find another cheap car rental. It's not worth it.

Attention Arnaque! Même en passant commande par une compagnie aérienne! J'ai réservé une voiture directement par TAP AIR PORTUGAL et une fois arrivé chez le loueur (Drive on Holidays), on me demande de leur payer 30€ en plus de ce que j'avais payé sur le site! Généralement on n'a pas d'autre choix que d’accepter vu la galère dans laquelle on est!
Sauf que moi je n'accepte pas le racket, peu importe le prix à payer! Je n'ai jamais vu un comportement si peu professionnel mais c'est un peu normal pour une arnaque!
Je suis reparti en Uber et sans la voiture reservée (qui m'a été facturée!!)

ACHTUNG! Ganz genau aufpassen, was gesagt wird, jedes kleinste Detail lesen und nachfragen! Da kommen sonst immer mehr versteckte Kosten auf euch zu. Mitarbeiter auch nicht sonderlich kompetent, geschweige denn Freundlich. Am besten erst gar nicht hingehen, es gibt so viel bessere und günstigere Autovermietungen! Wir für unseren Teil haben unsere Lektion daraus gelernt.

Nous avons loué un véhicule à Faro avec l'agence Drive On Holidays (via le site Carigami) du 9 au 19 septembre 2019.Très satisfait de l'accueil et de la prise en charge aller et retour du véhicule. Il n'y a pas d'agence dans l'aéroport mais des navettes tournent en permanence environ toute les 10 mn. Vehicule nickel, personnel très sympatique. Nous avions pris via Carigami l'assurance tous risques (bas de caisse, rachat de franchise, etc etc) et avons changé notre carte bancaire à debit immédiat pour une carte de crédit. Attention, car c'est bien stipulé chez tous les loueurs qu'il faut ce type de carte sinon impossible sur place de recuperer le véhicule (ou alors avec une surtaxe assurance salée).

Vorsicht Abzocke!
Wie bereits andere hier geschrieben haben, versucht "Drive on Holidays" seine Kunden auf unseriöse Art und Weise zu übervorteilen.
1. Vorsicht: Bei der Ankunft wird versucht eine weitere Versicherung zu verkaufen. Wer keine Kreditkarte mit einer ausreichenden Deckung hat (die geblockt wird und zur "Sicherheit" im Schadensfall dient) muss vor Ort eine erhebliche Summe zahlen (200,- bis 900,- EUR je nach Fahrzeug).
2. Wohl eine neue Methode: Wir mussten bei der Abgabe 30,- EUR extra zahlen, da im Fußraum ein paar Sandkörner zu finden waren. Ich war irritiert, da es weder im Vertrag stand, dass das Auto gesaugt und geputzt abzugeben ist, noch kenne ich solche Repressalien von anderen Autovermietungen.
3. Weitere kreative Gebühren von denen hier andere schreiben haben uns nicht betroffen, reicht ja aber auch.

If I could rate this company ZERO stars, I would. Absolutely horrendous service. Slow, incompetent, rude, ignorant and loads of hidden fees once you arrive. Good car with some dents and nicks. However, they do make you pay a lot of extra's, like 30EUR if you want to drop off the car before 8:00. On the way to the airport I had the misfortune of having a flat tire. I replaced it with the spare but they weren't very friendly at all. It looked like they never saw a flat tire before. I was already running late and they weren't very understanding. Tire replacement cost me 350EUR, which wasn't covered by the insurrance. Next time, I'll probably pick a more established company with an all-in formula instead.

I hired a Volvo car. Huge unexpected deposit required on collection unless you pay a large sum of money for added insurance.Waited over an hour to get the car as it was not ready.
On return they charged my credit card EUR70 without my authorisation for not having washed and vacuumed the car before bringing it back (I have hired cars around the world and never experienced anything like this before). They were very rude to my family, upset us all and we left with my kids in tears. Never again!

Ich würde am liebsten nicht mal einen Stern geben. Totale abzocke !! Finger weg!!
Die „airport Station“ entpuppt sich nach Ankunft am Flughafen als Stadt Station. Wir mussten 2h auf unseren Shuttle warten bis wir endlich bei der Station waren. Dort angekommen nochmals 1,5h warten. Dort wurde eine kleine check24 sicherheitslücke mit der Vollkasko Versicherung entdeckt, die beinhaltet dass Vandalismus nicht versichert ist und wir eine Versicherung für 40€ abschließen sollten. Der Herr hatte sich schon öfter mit dem check24 Vertrag auseinander gesetzt und wusste genau was er sagen muss damit man ihm glaubt. Nach fast 10h Anreise haben wir die Versicherung gemacht und wollten nur noch nach Hause.
Bei der Abgabe um 6:30 teilte Man uns mit wir mussten jetzt 30€ drauf zahlen weil wir vor 8 Uhr da sind. Ich hatte meine Flugdaten abgegeben und die Herrschaften wussten genau wann wir kommen würden. Die freche Antwort „naja dann zahlen sie halt nicht die 30€ und verpassen ihren Flug“ hat meinen Mann zur Weißglut gebracht. Ich dachte mir „komm ich will jetzt keinen Stress sondern nur noch nach Hause“ und habe die 30€ gezahlt. Dann kam der Hammer: eine angebliche kofferraumabdeckung würde fehlen. Die Abdeckung war niemals da. Nach langer Diskussion war ich nicht bereit 150€ fur die kofferraumabdeckung zu zahlen dann meinte der Mitarbeiter dass er meine 880€ Kaution einbehalten würde. Das wäre ja teurer für uns also haben wir uns erpressen lassen (!!!) die 150€ auch noch zu zahlen. Am Ende hätten wir uns vermutlich mit allen zusammen einen suv bei sixt mieten können für das Geld !
Ich habe eine Beschwerde email geschrieben in der ich gesagt habe, dass wir nie eine kofferraumabdeckung gehabt haben. Darauf hin habe ich nur eine unfreundliche email erhalten dass das schon alles so richtig gelaufen sei.
Einfach unfassbarer laden.. bloß nicht buchen! Die ziehen einem das Geld wo sie können aus der Tasche !

Very bad. they try always to take an extra insurance from you even if you paid already for this. Never, never , never again this Compagny. les surprises ne ce sont pas arrêtées là car après quelques kilomètres nous avions une information au tableau de bord nous alertant du manque de liquide de refroidissement, puis quelques jours après de besoin d’huile , puis de constater qu’un pneus était très sous gonflé
Malgré notre mécontentement manifestée au retour du véhicule nous n’avons reçu aucune excuse et encore moins de dédommagement pour tous ces désagréments
J’invite donc toutes les personnes à ne pas accepter de véhicule chez ce louer peux scrupuleux et respectueux de ces clients

Nicht empfehlenswert für die Automiete. Es fallen über 18€ zusätzlich lediglich für die Aktivierung eines Mautgeräts an, was ich für Wucher halte. Der Wagen wird zwar mit ihnen zusammen begutachtet und die Schäden im Formular vermerkt, allerdings sollten vorangegangene Schäden bereits vermerkt sein. Passen sie also gut auf dass alles notiert wird. Neue Schäden werden ihnen definitiv in Rechnung gestellt wenn kein Polizeibericht vorliegt, auch wenn sie keine Schuld haben und noch nicht einmal wissen, wann und wo genau die Schäden überhaupt entstanden sind. Bei den Zusatzkosten buche ich beim nächsten Mal lieber direkt bei einem seriösen Vermieter und nicht mehr über Check24 die mir auch nicht weiterhelfen konnten.

Bei der Übergabe des über CHECK24 gebuchten Fahrzeugs mit bereits bezahlter umfassender Vollkaskoversicherung gab es erhebliche Probleme durch die Service-Kraft am Schalter. Sie beharrte darauf, dass das Fahrzeug nicht versichert sei, obwohl wir ihr alle Unterlagen von CHECK24 (in englischer Sprache) gezeigt hatten. Sie wollte das Fahrzeug nicht rausrücken und wurde überaus frech und böse. Sie giftete uns an mit „Do I speak Chinese?“. Zuvor war schon ein Paar aus Deutschland dran, die den gleichen Ärger hatten. Sie rieten uns, bei CHECK24 anzurufen. Eine freundliche Dame von CHECK24 versuchte dann telefonisch zu vermitteln, aber die unfreundliche Dame am Schalter weigerte sich, das Telefongespräch anzunehmen. Erst nach langem Hin- und Her bekamen wir unser Fahrzeug. So sollte ein Urlaub eigentlich nicht beginnen.
Die Rückgabe bei anderen Mitarbeitern verlief problemlos.

Fühlt sich an wie ein einziger großer Scam.
Haben online ein Angebot bezahlt, Vollkasko und keine Selbstbeteiligung zu einem super Preis.
Dort angekommen wird eine Selbstbeteiligung von 900€ gefordert, um die runter auf 300€ zu bringen wurde das Angebot nochmal 50% teurer... Na toll.
Der Wagen den wir bekommen haben war auch ein "ähnlicher" der uns als "Upgrade" verkauft wurde und ziemlich mitgenommen aussah...
Das Personal ist dazu nicht gerade freundlich...

Auto gehuurd via Sunny cars. Antenne ontbrak op de aangewezen auto. Er werd ook na enig aandringen geen moeite gedaan om dit te verhelpen oid. Schades aan de auto zijn netjes genoteerd bij aanvang, wel zelf foto's maken. Bij het inleveren van de auto tamelijk onfatsoenlijk behandeld.

Vorab das Fazit: Nicht zu empfehlen!!
Nun etwas detaillierter.
Bei Abholung des Autos wird einem direkt eine Zusatzversicherung für knapp 80€ (weitere Zuschläge möglich) angedreht. Diese muss man verpflichtend annehmen, da ansonsten das Auto nicht ausgehändigt wird. Trotz Vollkaskoversicherung! Die abgeschlossene Versicherungen (beispielsweise von Check24) interessiert die Mitarbeiter vor Ort nicht. Man muss extra zahlen!
Anschließend platzte nach gerade einmal 50 Kilometer unser rechter Vorderreifen. Wenn man Drive on Holidays dan anruft, bekommt man keine Hilfe. Es wird dir nur gesagt, wechsel den Reifen alleine und besorg dir Neue. Das ist schon eine Unverschämtheit! Als wir dann aber am nächsten Tag vor Ort bei Drive on Holidays nach Hilfe suchten und dachten wir bekommen einen Ersatzwagen, wurden wir weggeschickt mit den Worten, man solle sich selbstständig eine Werkstatt suchen und den Reifen wechseln lassen. Wir verloren nur dadurch einen kompletten Urlaubstag, weil keine Hilfe angeboten wurde.
In der Werkstatt wurde uns von den Experten mitgeteilt, dass die Reifen komplett abgefahren waren und der Wagen hätte nicht vermietet werden dürfen. Das Risiko war viel zu hoch. Die Bremsen hätten bei Regen die Reifen nicht mehr stoppen können.
Nach 1 1/2 Tagen purem Stress ohne Hilfe und neuen selbstgezahlten Reifen (180€ müssen selbständig investiert werden für einen Reifenwechsel), verliefen wenigstens die letzten paar Urlaubstage die übrig geblieben sind ohne weitere Probleme.
Trotz allem, so etwas haben wir noch nie erlebt, unhöflich und nicht hilfsbereit ist die Zusammenfassung der Erfahrung mit Drive On Holidays. Definitiv nie wieder!

Payed twice as much as expected for reservation + rental. At arrival I told the guy at the counter I needed to change my reservation and return the car one day earlier. He said ok but apperently he didn't listen because when I returned the car the said they expected me to come the following day so I had to pay one extra day...
Long story short : you expect a discount car rental agency but you end up paying almost the same as at Europ Car...

Avevamo indicato come orario di rientro auto le 9 (indicativamente) siamo arrivati prima ci hanno che chiesto 30 euro per essere portati in aeroporto, visto che aprivano alle 8, comunque erano già lì. Alla fine per paura di arrivare troppo precisi abbiamo detto ok. siamo partiti da lì alle 7,30, quindi un vero furto!! 30 euro per un tratto di 5 minuti!Sottolineo che con altri noleggiatori quando consegniamo prima l auto ci ringraziano! Nicht zu empfehlen! Sehr unkooperativ. Wie in anderen Kommentaren schon erwähnt, wird sehr schnell mehr Geld fällig. Bei uns wurden unter Anderem 30 Euro zusätzlich für die Rückgabe des Autos außerhalb der Öffnungszeiten berechnet, obwohl noch 5 weitere Mieter ebenfalls ihr Auto zur gleichen Zeit zurückgegeben haben (es gibt also keine Möglichkeiten wie beispielsweise eine Schlüsselbox).

Vollkaskoversicherung vor Ort empfehlenswert. Wir haben keine Versicherung vor Ort abgeschlossen, sondern bei Check24. Zu beachten ist:
über check24 ist der Versicherer im Ausland zuständig; dadurch wird im Schadensfall die Abwicklung komplizierter.

VW Polo online gebucht, am Ende einen Toyota Auris Kombi bekommen. Schönes Upgrade! Kreditkarten Kaution Minimum 1100€ muss man wissen! Wie immer in südlichen Ländern das Auto trotz 44.000km überall Lackschäden, aber sonst Tip Top. Einen Stern weniger für die längere Wartezeit, aber das ist halt so wenn man dafür einen günstigen Mietwagen bekommt. Am besten online mit Versicherung Buchen, oder wer weniger Geplapper am Schalter will online ohne Versicherung und dann vor Ort die Versicherung abschließen.

Wist niet wat ik er van moest verwachten. Kreeg een auto met veel schades en vermoede het ergste. Maar we controleren de auto met een medewerker en hij schreef alles netjes op. Ondanks de schades was de auto netjes en heeft ons overal na toe gebracht zonder problemen. Bij inleveren wikkelen ze alles goed en snel af. We kregen direct de borg terug gestort en werden terug gebracht na het vliegveld.

Wer hier seinen Mietwagen bucht, darf keine hohen Erwartungen haben und sollte sicherstellen, das mindestens 1.500 Euro seiner Kreditkartendeckung noch sichergestellt sind, sonst wird es um 300 Euro teuer als ursprünglich erwartet. Der Mietwagen wird etwa 2km entfernt vom Flughafen entgegengenommen. Der Transfer dort hin ist gut, allerdings nicht leicht zu finden. Das Auto war ein Opel Astra Kombi, in einem schlechten Zustand. Unabhängig von den vielen Beulen und Kratzern, war die Kupplung durch und die Reifen hatten nicht mehr das Mindestprofil. Wer seinen Mietwagen ausserhalb der Geschäftszeiten abgibt muss eine Zusatzgebühr in Höhe von 30 Euro zahlen. Ist verständlich, sofern ein extra Transfer nur für 2 Personen umgesetzt wird. Allerdings waren morgens um 5 Uhr bei Abgabe 20 Kunden dort und damit ist die extra Gebühr voll daneben. Wer den Wagen nicht mit identischer Benzinmenge abgibt, dem werden schnell, die dreifache Höhe entstanden Benzinmengendifferenz in Rechnung gestellt.
Wer nun unglücklicherweise sich am Faro Airport nicht auskennt, sucht lange. Ohne Ausreichend Deckung auf der Kreditkarte landet man in einer Kostenfalle, und wer zusätzlich noch eine ungünstige Abflugzeit hat und nicht ausreichend getankt hat, der wird noch einmal zur Kasse gebeten.
Statt angepeilten 290 Euro für 2 Wochen, musste ich über 700 Euro zahlen.
Absolut nicht zu empfehlen!

We use this car rental company quite often. Usually excellent, but this time we had to hang around depot for about an hour. The main reason being that our chosen car was being washed and valeted. Disappointing given that abour 6 people who arrived much later than us got their cars right away.

Rent at your own risk. You will get a car full of scratches and dents. They will suggest you take pictures and video. I didn’t. They totally exaggerated damages and made me pay for dents that were already there. 300 euros. They just decided the price with no explanation. I did not do it and it was marked on the sheet. Very Good bang for your buck. We booked the least expensive class and received a relatively new Toyota Auris. The only pain was getting to the rental from the airport - first, it wasnt communicated where to wait for the shuttle, second, the waiting line was unorganized and other renters where fighting about getting into the shuttle. After waiting 40 mins we decided to take a cab to the rental station. However, I would book it again.

Very friendly staff who explained everything and provided other helpful info too.
When you arrive at airport go directly to car park No.4 and straight onto the bus don't queue with customers of other car hire companies.
Then only a 3 minute drive to pick up car the process is seamless which is the same for the return. Got brand new car which was a nice surprise.
Would definitely recommend and will use them again.

Booked the car for 5 days and had to return it in 3 days due to ill health and could not drive the vehicle. They refused to refund the amount for the 2 days which was over Euros 200/-. Never again. Wir haben für unseren 2 wöchigen Roadtrip ein Auto gemietet. Am Flughafen wurden wir mit einem Shuttlebus abgeholt und waren innerhalb von 5 min. an der Abholstation angekommen. Die Abholung ging schnell. Die Dame am Schalter versuchte uns noch eine Zusatzversicherung anzubieten, wir teilten ihr mit das wir über unseren Anbieter bereits alles abgesichert haben. Sie wollte jedoch weiterhin, dass noch diese Versicherung für 80 Euro abzuschließen. Wir lehnten diese erneut ab und erklärten ihr bestimmt, dass wir keine weitere Versicherung möchten und damit war es gut. Wir bekamen einen fast neuen Seat Ibiza in einem sehr guten Zustand. Wir hatten auf unseren 2000km langen Roadtrip keine Probleme. Vor der Abgabe Staubsaugen wir das Auto da eine Pauschale fällig ist, wenn das Auto verschmutzt zurück gebracht wird. Die Rückgabe lief sehr gut, gemeinsam mit einem Mitarbeiter wurde das Auto angeschaut und anschließend die Mautgebühren vor Ort beglichen. Die Kaution wurde sofort zurück überwiesen.

UWAGA TO SĄ NACIĄGACZE !!!!. Samochód wynajęty w Lizbonie. Nie mają stanowiska i wożą ludzi jedynym autobusem do swojego zatłoczonego biura. Czekaliśmy na autobus potem na wynajem prawie 2 godziny. Zastaliśmy tłum i brak organizacji. Wynająłem samochód dopłacając za pełne ubezpieczenie. Po 6 dniach od zwrotu pobrali z mojej karty kredytowej bez mojej zgody 24 EUR. Nikt nawet nie próbował poinformować mnie o przyczynie pobrania kwoty. Samochód podczas zwrotu był skontrolowany i zatankowany do pełna. Dostałem też rachunek. Jako dowód w załączeniu. NACIĄGACZE!!!!

This was a horrible experience, first of all, we paid for the car insurance rheought some website, byt then they told us thst we had to pay a deposit anyway or buy their insurance, second we were promised a new car, when in fact we got a 2 year old one with some damage, the car tires were in such a bad state that we refused to drive, they gave us some other car, but imagine that people could have gotten into an accident because of how bad those tires were. One thing that was somehow good was thst the woman that worked there was nice, but thats not what we came for there

TERRIBLE service, loads of hidden charges - AVOID! We didn't book car hire directly but booked through Expedia and this was the car hire company they chose. Our experience was terrible. They lost our booking - then our travel documents. When we arrived no one told us the process/ what to do - we were just left in the baking hot sun without a clue. They said we hadn't booked with them, then they couldnt find our booking... finally, after much pushing from our side, they found our booking, but only after charging ££££ extra for insurance, tolls, extra hidden charges. The start and end of our holiday was RUINED as a result - we arrived and left stressed out and thoroughly FED UP. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY

Since there is no way do block such a high amount on a card, they were absolutely inflexible, offering no solution AT ALL and being rude and disrespectful. the only option was paying 280 euros to reduce the deposit to 1000 euros. this is an absolute disgrace.
having done this, they showed us our car (a mercedes) that was completely damaged and scratched. as we complained and asked for a price reduction, the officer in charge answered with "this is not a gipsy market". what we did was blowing the deal off and get our money back.
seriously, don't consider booking at this rental in the first place, it's a huge fraud. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
i would book with any serious partner instead, like europcar, guerin, hertz, whatsoever.

Største svindlerfirmaet ever, STYR UNNA!!! Først skal de ha tre ganger prisen på egenandelforsikring. (Vi har leid bil 40 talls ganger andre steder) De er sure, frekke og ikke litt behjelpelige, elendig service!!!! Det toppet seg da vi skulle levere bilen kl. 07.30 pga. Via Sunweb een auto gehuurd bij Drive on Holidays. Tevreden over de dienstverlening, nette auto met navigatie zonder gedoe. Autostoeltje was matig van kwaliteit, voor twee weken koste dit € 95,- extra. In de algemene voorwaarden van Sunweb zou dit maximaal € 70,- per huurperiode mogen zijn. Dit is netjes verrekend via Sunweb. Incl. auto (standaard bij de reis inbegrepen) geüpgraded naar een compact algemeen auto (bv Seat Leon) meerprijs € 304,- voor 14 dagen.

Devo ter feito mais de 10 alugueres, em alturas diferentes, sempre por períodos mínimos de 15 dias. Desde que se tenha o cuidado de tratar o carro como se fosse nosso, é seguro que não vamos ter problemas, quer no levantamento, quer na entrega. É verdade que por vezes a limpeza dos carros, na entrega, poderia ser melhor, mas normalmente isto passa-se em alturas de época alta. Por outro lado, as regras são claras, como o montante da caução, que será sempre cativada no cartão do locatário, ou os valores do segundo condutor ou da viaverde.

Escroc! Escrocerie à la carte de crédit. J'avais ma carte de crédit mais je ne connaissais plus le code donc j'étais obligée de prendre des assurances supplémentaires que j'avais déja prises. Si je ne voulais pas prendre les assurances je devais payer que 14€ mais dans ce cas je devais faire le payement avec ma carte de crédit. Pour les 140€ supplementaire ce n'était pas nécessaire!. J'ai payé au total 190€ d'assurance!! Plus que le montant de la location de la voiture.

Had to wait way to long to get a shuttle to the pickup location. Long delay before getting the car, whitch ended up being a totally different car than i ordered. (Ordered a Renault Captur (small SUV/crossover) and got a Ford Focus stationwagon)
When we finally got the car an hour after arriving at P4 on time, the car we got was scratched and dented all-over.

Hat eigentlich keinen stern verdient!!!
Wir haben bereits mehrere male vorher dort einen mietwagen bezogen,bisher immer ohne probleme...
Bis heute:
Wir buchten über den reiseveranstalter einen kombi inkl kindersitz und genügend stauraum.
Der toyota war optisch doch recht ramponiert und der service war überfällig..
Störte uns aber nicht wirklich,das auto fuhr sich gut.
Mitarbeiter beim pick up sehr freundlich.
Bei der rückgabe allerdings das krasse gegenteil.
Uns wurden 50 euro in rechnung gestellt weil sich sand im fussraum und im kofferraum befand.(wirklich minimal)
Wir haben allerdings an keiner safari o.ä teilgenommen!..
Das lässt sich nunmal nicht vermeiden mit kinderwagen usw. (Gab bisjetzt auch nie probleme)
An diesem tag machten wohl mehrere keine guten erfahrungen mit der gesellschaft.
Manager wirkte stark überfordert und unfreundlich...
Schade,das nächste mal mieten wir woanders.

They ripped me of. Told me I was doing a deposit for the car. Turned out it was an insurance that i did not wanted. Unfriendly people working there who shouted at me when i asked my money back. They lie to you about the contract.

my son and i booked a nissan qashqai for 14 days from 17/7/19 and were very pleased with the service and the vehicle these were one of the only companies to guarantee the car booked would be the car we had we also used them in september 2018 and will use them next time we need a car in portugal

Escrocs voleurs menteurs voici les adjectifs qui qualifient cette organisme de location de véhicule. Nous avons payés un supplément de 30 euros simplement parce que notre avion était en retard. Ensuite nous avons payé un supplément pour les assurances alors que nous avons déjà validés ceci sur le site. Le personnel est totalement désagréable, ils font semblant de ne pas vous comprendre par contre quand vous leurs tendaient la carte bancaire ils comprennent de suite. Je déconseille fortement.

Auto gehuurd via Sunny Cars. Goed geregeld, goede auto en geen extra verkooppraatjes. Alles wordt snel geregeld. Check wel goed of de schade in het begin goed wordt geregistreerd en maak zelf veel foto's. Wij hadden een auto waar al wat schade aan was en kregen er bijna een rekening voor omdat de jongen die ons de auto had overhandigd het niet juist op het formulier had aangegeven. Gelukkig hadden we zelf foto's gemaakt waardoor er geen twijfel over mogelijk was dat wij de schade niet hadden veroorzaakt. Werd vervolgens wel weer netjes afgehandeld, borg gewoon teruggekregen.

Only one advice try to be careful when dealing with DRIVE ON HOLIDAYS car rental. The business is not transparent at all. Booked a car through Booking for €45 a week and thought this was a great price! When arrived at the place to get the car they ask you to whether you want to "insure" the car and they would keep a deposit until you return the car back from your card. What they did not clarify is that they take only CREDIT CARDS (of course they said it's in the terms and conditions on the site) to hold a deposit! This means if you don't hold a Credit card then you have to pay the insurance premium of €110! They give no other option! More importantly they did not accepted my Visa Debit card(insisted it has to be a credit card!) which I have used renting cars from Italy, to Thailand and Mexico before! They said that in order to accept it and "lock" a deposit from there, they would charge me €110!!! This is an indirect way for them to get extra money! First time I come across a business that does not accept your card to hold a deposit but if you pay them in advance €110 then they do! Unfortunately we did not have any option but pay the €110
Finally the funny part was when they ask you whether you would a card for tolls to be included implying that the cost of tolls is included! Thickly the emotional argument from the employer saying "take this so you can use highways as we the Portuguese are poor and can not use highways everyday"!
So when getting the car back after the booking time the reality came up that the COST OF TOLLS WAS NOT INCLUDED and we had to pay all the costs from tolls to the DRIVE ON HOLIDAYS! The even funnier part was when I complained that they told me probably I did not understand well in the first place (FYI I am half Brazilian half British so speak perfect both languages)
A car that initially was rented for €45 ended up costing €200!
Sad meeting such kind of people and companies with this operating model trying to take advantage of tourists and giving their country a bad name...
Specifically when our overall experience in Portugal was great!
Try to be careful and if possible use a much more reliable businesss if you want to avoid surprises as the aforementioned case above!

Ik ben hier via Sunnycars. Prima bus die ons ophaalde en zeer behulpzaam en beleefd. De afhandeling ging prima. Een borg van €300 en geen extra betaling voor benzine. Gewoon vol-vol. Ook geen verzekeringen in de aanbieding. Alleen de vraag of ik een tolkastje wil. Nette behandeling. Gewoon beleefd en vriendelijk. Ook degene die de auto toonde en nakeek. Prettige reis meneer en bij problemen 24/7 dit nummer bellen. Nu kijken hoe het bij terugkomst gaat. Maar het goede meid.

I was charged 30 euro extra for returning the car at 7:40am. Only afterwards did they tell me it was for returning before the official opening time of 8am.

The car provided was a clean and tidy 2017 model, however with perished wiper blades that were useless in the rain on the motorway. The pick up point was difficult to find although I think that had more to do with confused directional signage of the airport than the car hire company, other than that everything was fine. Recommend that you take a video of the car upon collection to avoid any unexpected charges upon returning the car.

Personnel très gentil et accueillant, comme indiqué lors de la réservation il faut prendre une navette au P4 pour aller à l'agence qui se trouve hors de l'aéroport ( environ 10 min) reçu un véhicule en upgrade gratuit, aucun problème avec la prise et remise du véhicule, tout très bien ! Merci !

Alles bestens. Von der Abholung bis zur Abgabe. Auto hatte paar Schäden zu viel für meinen Geschmack und hat daher auch ein wenig gedauert als zu protokollieren aber ansonsten war alles schnell und reibungslos.

Ein Mitarbeiter empfing uns am Flughafen Faro mit einem Schild und sagte uns, das Shuttle stehe wie vereinbart am Parkplatz P4 bereit.
Wir wurden sofort zum Standort, ca. 1km entfernt, gebracht und konnten dort unseren bestellten Kleinwagen in Empfang nehmen.
Am Check-in wurden wir nach einer Versicherung für Vandalismus etc. befragt und ein kurzes "Nein, danke" wurde ohne Murren akzeptiert. Es erfolgte die Übergabe mit Mängelprotokoll und wir waren nach ca. 20-30 Minuten mit unserem Auto unterwegs.
Ebenso wie die Übernahme erfolgte auch die Rückgabe ganz ohne Probleme. Wir waren zur vereinbarten Zeit, mit voll getanktem Auto in der Filiale, mit Hilfe des erstellten Protokolls wurde das Auto inspiziert und wir wurden nach Zahlung der fälligen Maut wieder zum Flughafen gebracht.
Einziger Kritikpunkt, daher nur 4 Sterne, waren die relativ abgefahrenen Reifen und als Wischwasser war nur klares Wasser eingefüllt.
Nach unserem Erfahrungen würde ich Drive on Holidays als Vermieter jederzeit wieder in Anspruch nehmen und weiterempfehlen.
