Came here for an early dinner (7:30/8pm, early by local standards). The service was friendly, but the food was disappointing. I had the "Serrano" ham appetizer and the grilled sea bream. The ham was not of high quality, and the sea bream was overcooked and dry. Also had the almond cake dessert which was not bad.

Sehr nette Atmosphäre, heute auf einem Mittwoch gab es Livemusik. Das Personal ist nett und das Essen sehr gut. Allerdings gibt es das ganze dann auch zu einem höheren Preis.

A lovely local seafood restaurant just off the main street but very popular with the local residents. The grilled salmon was excellent and the local owner was more than happy to explain any dishes from the menu and have a chat at the end of the evening, would definitely recommend.

Most restaurants in the area have outdoor dining and most in the area, face a busy main road but not this. Outdoor dining in the greenery with a little play area for children was great. ( Not detracting from the place in anyway, we would suggest a re think on the half circle climbing apparatus as we did notice 2 children fall badly on our visit) . Service was with a smile and everyone was friendly. There is a musician playing a mix of Latin, pop and blues and again he was very friendly and accommodating, allowing my 2 yo granddaughter to join in with a tambourine. Prices seem normal for the area so no complaints there. Thank you to the owner / management for the complimentary glasses of port.

Fantastyczne miejsce. Za 3 osobowa rodzinę, przystawki, dania główne i lody zapłaciliśmy ok. 80€. Jedliśmy pyszna tradycyjna cataplanę. Jedyny minus to, że podają ja z frytkami. Portugalskie pieczywo idealnie by pasowało. Warto odwiedzić to miejsce. A i doskonałym pomysłem jest plac zabaw dla dzieci! Family from Poland

Have been eating at this restaurant for over ten years. We have never had a bad meal and have taken many friends who have always enjoyed the ambience and service. Paulo is very friendly and helpful and has become a friend over the time we have been going. Would recommend to anyone who wants a good meal at a good price. Check out the wines....amazing !

Fantastic restaurant. The food was so delicious and the sangria amazing. There is a small play area for the kids and a good selection of kid friendly food. Best part is the local music. Felt like a part of the community.

One of the best places to eat. Amazing food and even better staff. Thank you for your amazing hospitality. We had a group of 12 and they made space for us even though the place was packed. They brought us all out blankets and few shots. Amazing.

Very bad service and food. We booked dinner for a group of 15 people, 7 being children under 10 years old. The restaurant decided to sit the adults and children at two different tables which was not convenient at all. It took about one hour to get our food and when it came, the mariscada, was poorly done. The staff was not pleasant at all and when we asked about the delay, was quite rude. I do not recommend this restaurant at all.

We arrived for a late lunch, around 3pm, and choose to sit on outside patio since it was a great sunny day. Once we sat down the waiter asked us, not politely, to move to a smaller table. Her argument was that a bigger group could arrive an might need that table. No problem with this, only if the restaurant was practically empty on this day and time, making the discussion/request moot. Our food took quite some time to arrive. We ordered one daily menu (entry, side fish and main course) and another fresh fish from the menu. Both were tasty and fresh, the side dishes unfortunately were on another level, sadly. They were just simple steamed vegetables without taste nor attention given. Not really following the Chefs choice with it. Anyway, our experience was dominated by the bad service provided by the staff members. For a person that usually give tips, even for bad services, i find myself very reluctant this time, and end up not giving any. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, there's definitely places with fresh seafood with better service around the area.

Good place to eat seafood and grilled fish. Make sure you book before, specially if you're visiting in the Summer or you risk a huge waiting queue.
Otherwise it's a good place and if you're nearby book a table for a nice dinner after enjoying the day on Albufeira beach.

Our second day in Portugal, having dinner at this fantastic restaurant. Food quality was excellent and servers were very pleasant and friendly. Live entertainment and the asmothphere were wonderful. Our group of 8 enjoyed the dinner so much, we were talking about coming back the next day already.

Na het lezen van een aantal veelbelovende reviews besloten hier te gaan eten. Veel personeel in de bediening waardoor je bij elk gerecht of drankje iemand anders aan je tafel hebt. Dat is niet zo erg, maar wel lastig te beoordelen. De één was namelijk vriendelijk terwijl een ander ronduit bot en chagrijnig was. Het is duidelijk dat dit een Visrestaurant is want de door mij bestelde tournedos mocht de naam tournedos niet dragen ! Het was echt het SLECHTSTE maar tevens ook het duurste stukje vlees van het hele aanbod restaurants uit de omgeving. Mijn vriendin had kabeljauw die was goed maar niet bijzonder. Wij hebben beide ervaring in de horeca en doen vaak niet moeilijk over de bediening en eten omdat we weten dat het niet altijd even makkelijk is. Maar dit was echt niet goed. Fijne vakantie verder.

Vielleicht eines der besten Fischrestaurants in der lokalen Region. Neben der typischen Frischfischvitrine gibt es ein großes Becken mit Langusten und Hummern sowie ein Aquarium mit Krebsen. Zudem werden hier auch frische Austern von der Küste serviert. Das Restaurant bietet sich auch für einen kleinen Mittagssnack an. Mann kann auch einfach Kleinigkeiten bestellen.
Zudem hat das Restaurant einen sehr schön angelegten Außenbereich.

First of all the staff was very friendly and polite and the restaurant is amazing but we went there to eat :) The appetizer was very good (even if we thought that it will be charged only once). We ordered their traditional dish Cataplana with seafood and fish and it was not so good for it's price. The fish had many bones and the shells were very very small. The wine was very good. Maybe if we have oredered something else the review will be different.

Nous avons pris menu 12€. Déçu beaucoup de frites mais poulet et porc de qualité et quantité très moyenne. Je ne juge pas le reste de la carte... C'est certainement bon ! Théoriquement spécialités fruits de mer. Le cadre est très agréable.

Wir waren letzte Woche schon im Lagosteira und es war wundervoll super Service, super Essen, typische portugiesische Gerichte. Frischer Fisch, leckeres Fleisch! Es gibt überhaupt nichts auszusetzen! Am Wochenende gibts Livemusik, jeder Mittwoch ist Fadoabend! Sind deswegen dorthin zurück und es war traumhaft! Auf jeden Fall weiterzuempfehlen! Und werde nächstes Jahr bestimmt wiederkommen.

Worst fried fish I have ever had. It was mushy like it was warmed up in the microwave. Left it on my plate and the manager said it was because of the egg in it. I have been to Portugal 8 times a month each and have never had fried fish like this. The manager was so rude. Tried to order coffee with our dessert and he told us to relax. Wouldn’t bring it but I wanted it with my dessert. Didn’t even eat my fish and still charged me for everything. Will not come back or recommend!

We have been many times over the years and love everything about A Lagosteira. The food, the warm welcoming service and the atmosphere. We told our host tonight that our 8 year old son said that this was the best restaurant ever- definitely 5 stars. And he replied "the food can be good but you have to feel comfortable" . And that is the secret here. Mr Alves and his team know how to make you feel comfortable while providing great food.

This restaurant was recommended by out tour op. Perhaps because they get a discount? We lunched there today had oysters and seafood bisque. Celebrating the birth of our grandchild with a bottle of prosecco. That was fine apart from the waitress overfilling the glass that brimmed over then attempting to get it full by pouring out the head!! Then we had a very salty and tough prawn and squid skewer and a fillet steak wrapped in bacon that was even saltier. Chips that continued tasting after we left. Insufficient wait staff. Being ignored when we wanted to pay the bill which was €90. Not going back.

Espaço de boas dimensões,acolhedor bem mobilado. Pessoal jovem, simpático e atencioso. Prato principal que foi o motivo da vinda, um Chateau Briand de uma carne de origem duvidosa, mais parecia carne prensada completamente insípida já fatiada, acompanhado por umas batatas congeladas mal fritas e de insipidez notável. Só o prato 46.95€. Avalio as batatas em 50 centimos e a carne no máximo 5 euros. Uma decepção completa e uma sensação de extorsão muito forte.

Péssimo!! Cataplana à algarvia estava péssima!! A cataplana apenas serviu para levar o conteúdo à mesa, porque além de mal confeccionada também não foi cozinhada na própria cataplana! As amêijoas que pedimos de entrada, anunciadas como sendo da ria formosa, não são! São apenas depuradas na ria formosa! Os menus infantis vinham com o amburguer cru!! Restaurante para turistas estrangeiros, que não conhecem a gastronomia portuguesa!!

Overpriced and poor quality food. My fried fish was definitely from frozen, soggy doughy batter. The calamari was the same, from frozen, the consistency was gag worthy. Plus none of the dishes were very hot.. I'm expecting to be in the bathroom a lot tomorrow.

Went here the other night. It was highly recommended, so we had expectations. The tuna in the tuna salad was not fresh, my creamy fish soup contained one chopped shrimp. My sea bass was just an overcooked whole fish with too much salt. Expect lots of bones. The salmon and shrimp kebab was dry and salty. I did like the carrots that was forced upon you when arriving. High prices, does not match the food. Of course, if you like simple and salty food, then this can be a place for you.

Nice, fresh dishes and good service. The interior is rather old fashion though but the terrace is cosy.

Adoramos, fomos muito bem atendidos pela equipa, o marisco era fresquíssimo e muito saboroso, a sapateira foi a melhor que já comi fora de casa!!! Sitio sossegado e familiar, ideal para desfrutar durante as férias. Recomendo!!!

Beautiful busy restaurant. Has overhead vines and creepers making the place feel cut off and secluded from the main road. Food is fantastic especially the sardines.... as a fish restaurant only expect the freshest fish and shellfish. Exceptional prices with helpful and attentive staff.

Bisque de poisson et huitres excellentes.
Nous avons partagé un loup dont les filets ont été levés devant nous puis servi à l'assiette, très bon mais les légumes en accompagnement étaient juste bouillis sans aucun assaisonnement, donc fades, dommage car c'est quand même la base...
Les crêpes en dessert sont bonnes et le Porto est offert à l'addition.
Service très très bien, très attentif et de bon conseil pour choisir un bon vin portugais.
Toilettes devant être refaites, sales (mais ça à la limite ils ne peuvent pas passer après chaque client) et surtout en sale état... Une fuite colmaté avec du chatterton, des sanitaires jaunis par les années, de la rouille, ...

Eaten here now and then over the last 12 years. Always superb food and excellent service. Never had a poor meal or poor service. Highly recommend.

Had the Lamb chops portion of 5 chops with sauted potatoes and veg - was delicious and filling - my wife had chicken with mushroom sauce and chips/rice which I can vouch was equally delicious as the Mrs couldnt manage the huge portion - food was served super quick and waitor was very attentive - would thoroughly recommend this lovely restaurant

Friendly staff, we felt very welcome. We had the tuna and the grilled salmon. Both plates were good. The price is a tiny more expensive than elsewhere (for same food/quality) but the experience was good in overall. At the end,they surprised us with a free Porto, they even left the bottle in the table!!! The interior is well decorated and there is a little place for kids to play. We had a very good time at this restaurant.

Went to this place about a year ago while stating at a nearby hotel and still think about it often. The food was amazing, lovely and fresh. And there is a great selection of wine, especially the vintage. Price wise everything was very reasonable and it had a lovely atmosphere.

Friendly fish–oriented restaurant. Average food. Plenty of outdoor space for kids to play. Nothing amazing here, but a bit of nostalgia for the seafood restaurants of 20 years ago.
