Nos pidieron cambiar de mesa, y nos tuvieron mucho tiempo sin atendernos, viendo cómo atendían primero a clientes que habían venido más tarde, el camarero muy estresado y sin modales, la cena una ensalada de pulpo, mal presentada y el pulpo casi no lo encontrabas en un cuenco pequeño, el atún, que nos habían recomendado, no me inspiro confianza al estar casi crudo. Una experiencia muy desagradable, para no repetir.

Bom espaço e excelente atendimento

Un restaurant dont je ne saurais pas dire pourquoi il m'a marqué, mais en tout cas c'est un déjeuner très positif. Une équipe très masculine s'affaire en cuisine et ils ont l'air de mercenaire très compétent dans ce domaine car s'était très bon. Le service était courtois et sincère. Le café est un des meilleur que j'ai pu boir à Lagos. Les prix sont correctes pour une cuisine maison et très portugaise évidemment. Je retesterai volontiers le soir pour voir la différence.

Visita no âmbito da rota do petisco 2018. Atendimento com muita simpatia e disponibilidade. O petisco estava muito bom, uma boa entrada na rota, daí sigam para um prato mais consistente. Da análise da carta e do espaço... um local acolhedor, a ementa muito interessante e apelativa. Um local a revisitar certamente!!

My family loves this restaurant. We eat dinner here multiple nights whenever we visit Lagos. Most restaurants in Lagos have good fish and seafood. But these guys take it to the next level with inventive sauces and vegetable pairings. While everyone else serves boiled potatoes with each fish, these guys are doing inventive pairings like octopus with sweet potatoes - which is my favorite dish. Other highlights are the braised tuna (correctly served barely cooked) and the mackerel with sweet potato. Closed Mondays.

Excelente restaurante en la localidad de Lagos, que quizás no me hubiera llamado mucho la atención si no fuera por las reseñas de Google. Cuenta con comedor interior y terraza mediana en el exterior. El trato de los camareros ha sido exquisito, tratando de que nos entendiéramos en todo momento. Probamos el atún a la parrilla con semillas (delicioso), el pulpo frito y unas ostras para chuparse los dedos. Precios bastante buenos para tratarse de una zona muy turística.

Excelente cena gracias a las recomendaciones del camarero. Pulpo y atún, de postre tiramisú. Un lugar para repetir.

What an delicious restaurant. We were served extraordinary friendly. The service was really sympathetic. We had mussels, wine, gin and tiramisu. Everything was super delicious. Don't know, if I ever had mussels like this for such a low price. Only 12,50€ for a big portion! I can recommend this place!!!

המולים הכי טעימים שיצא לי לאכול! המקום במיקום מרכזי. הזמנו שתי מנות מולים ושניהם היו נהדרות וטעימות מאוד. המלצר שלנו שנראה לי גם הבעלים ( יכול להיות שאני טועה) היה מאוד נחמד וידע להמליץ לטעמנו גם ביין וגם במנות.

Horrível! Pedi um prato de amêijoas e, posteriormente, atum e polvo. Depois das amêijoas veio o atum. Comemos e esperámos quase uma hora até que perguntei se ia demorar muito. Falei com gerente que nao sabia do pedido e que o empregado se esqueceu etc. Nao pediu desculpas e so perguntou "ainda quer que mande servir?" pedi para aguardar,pois meu marido estava lá fora a adormecer bebé e voltou logo. Desde então fomoa ignorados. Chamávamos, passava por nós e fazia que nao via. Como é possível tamanha desconsideração depois de se esquecerem do pedido. Pedi livro de reclamações discretamente para nao chamar a atenção dos restantes clientes e, falou alto, gesticulou.... Comentou pedidos de outras mesas etc. Vim embora e disse que fazoa reclamação online. Ainda teve a lata de apresentar a conta completa para pagar. Sítio para nunca voltar! Arrogância e má educação e falta de respeito pelo cliente

Abbiamo pranzato ad agosto, mangiando ottime varianti di cozze a prezzi ragionevoli pur essendo nel cuore turistico di Lagos. Il servizio è stato estremamente accogliente e attento. Buono anche il vino della casa che non ha riservato nessuna sorpresa. Piatti ben serviti. Alla fine è un ottimo liquore di mandorle. Raccomandato a chi si trova in Algarve e a Lagos.

I had a really bad experience at this place. First we ordered our food and the waiter tried us to change one of the dishes for another one that was more expensive. Second, the same waiter told us that our order was not enough in a really bad and aggressive manner. I even had to excuse us, as we weren’t that hungry. One of the rudest waiters I’ve found. Really rude and disrespectful, he made us feel really bad. I wouldn’t recommend. For sure we won’t be back.

The food here is excellent! The muscles are cooked perfectly, the calamari is melt in your mouth delicious, and the tuna is incredible! The service was also top notch! Do yourself a favour and eat here! I can't recommend this place enough!

Just after we ordered drinks, they let us know we had 2 minutes to order. It was difficult since apparently it was too late for half of the options to order. Finally we ordered sardines and almejas a bulhao pato. The sardines were sort of ok, but the almejas a bulhao pato were awful, obviously prepared in a hurry with whole garlic on it and carelessly prepared. We actually complained and they tried to convinced us that was the normal way in Portugal, while it was the third time we ordered in Lagos, and it is easy to Google it in any recipie that that is a shameful lie. Total shame.

les moules sont très bonne et le prix et raisonnable j'y suis retourner deux fois, on a eu la chance de tombé sur ce restaurant par hasard qui n'ai pas un attrape touriste, si l'année prochaine je suis de passage à lagos je reviendrais sans hésité.

The wine list here is not fantastic for the price if you are into your wine. We shared garlic prawns for starters but have to say we got 8 prawns and 10 prawn heads...so felt a bit shortchanged. They were also not the freshest and not particularly flavoursome. We both had a mussel dish with fries for mains, which again were ok and tasty but didnt wow us.

Great Portuguese food. I recommend the octopus and sweet potatoes. Lovely wine with it and friendly staff.

Great razor clams with butter and garlic sauce. Absolutely delicious and loved dipping bread into the sauce. Mussels were done with a white wine sauce, good but not great. The fried fish was done exceptionally well, very crispy on the outside while the inside remained moist. Our 4 and 2 year old devoured the fish!

O Mexilhao is amazing! The staff is really friendly and the food is delicious. It wasn´t easy to find a place with decent prices and nice food by the centre of Lagos, finding O mexilhao was so perfect that we went 3 times throughout the week we stayed.

Ate hear our first night in Lagos. Shared a bowl of mussels and a salmon dish and both were heavenly. The server made an excellent recommendation for the mussels (there are a few different ways they cook them). I would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nicer seafood dinner in Lagos. Our server was also a polite sales person, offering us amendoa served with lemon juice as a dessert drink. It was our first time having it and I certainly appreciated the recommendation (Mind you, I don't mind being sold in a restaurant and can see how this could turn someone off). Haven't had a meal yet that can compare after being in Lagos for a few days now.

I can talk all day about this restaurant. We stayed a week in Lagos and ate at this restaurant 3 times. We would have eaten here every night but once they were closed and another time we couldn't make it into town. The food is FABULOUS! I don't mean, just good, I mean Fabulous! We had the red mullet, cockles, mussels in marinade, shrimp in a wonderful sauce, razor clams, dover sol, sardines, and squid (over the 3 nights of eating here). All the food is fresh, even the vegetables. You can taste the freshness! The presentation of the food makes you want to dig into each dish. Each time we were presented with a dish we were amazed at how it was presented. We did eat at a couple other places but nothing come close to the perfection of food in O Mexilhao. The drinks are beyond any we have experienced. We started with Red Sangria because that is what we knew. The Sangria was even better than we have had before. We were then introduced to Amarguinha. This is an amazing almond liqueur that is local to Lagos. Although we couldn't find Amarguinha on any menu in Lagos, we made sure to taste it in all the places we went. This restaurant had the best. We then had the privilege of trying Gin Sul! WOW! The drinks are amazing here and the presentation makes you want to drink them. The staff went above and beyond to make our experience a once in a lifetime. Pedro is the owner and is passionate about what he does. He buys only fresh products and can show and tell you all about them. We loved talking with Pedro and trying all the dishes we could. Pedro went above and beyond what anyone could ask! Filipa is a wonderful waitress! She takes time to listen and is great company and offers great advice about the food, drinks and Lagos. She is a lovely girl. I have to mention Chef. He made sure the food was to our liking and was passionate about cooking. I even got some lessons to bring home so I will be grilling more fish! There was another waiter there that was very good also but I am sure I will misspell his name. It is something like Gonzalo. The whole staff is really good and love what they do. I do not understand how this restaurant can not be the #1 restaurant in Lagos after the others we have tried. This is the best place we have ever eaten! We will go back to Lagos just to eat here and enjoy the company of the staff. This is by far the only 5 star restaurant in all of Lagos.

Simply the best Portuguese loved filled food we had in our stay in Lagos. The service is the best I've seen anywhere. Our waitress was kind and so appreciative for us just being there. Our first night eating here we had the salmon and the mackerel, which was to die for. We decided to return the next night and do it all over again. This time we had the clam rice and the golden seabream, with mussels to start. Do yourself a service and get the mussels. Which ever flavour, it does not matter. What a treat for the taste buds. For desert we had the homemade tiramisu. How could this meal get any better???? Truly the best moments of our trip in Lagos were spent at this restaurant. Enjoy your lunch/dinner. We sure did! Canada loves you. Muah!
