J'ai doublé mon prix de location pour une franchise à 0€ et une fois sur place on veut encore m'ajouter le rachat de franchise pneu et pare-brise qui ne sont pas compris...c'est prendre les clients pour des vaches à lait...de plus on me propose de ne pas rendre la voiture avec le plein pour un prix "discount" de 71€, j'ai fait le plein moi même pour 52€ et j'étais sur le niveau ," réserve"...

Thieves, they send a Bill after 5 months for something was missing in the car. From the start of these Rent that part wasn't in the car and we couldn't know because we don't know that type of car! Never again! Keep away from these Thieves!!

Avoid at all costs. We had to wait almost 1.5 hours to pick up our hire car, customers at the back of the queue were shouting and getting really frustrated with the delay. When returning the car they charged us EUR235 for a tiny surface scratch to a plastic bumper, even though a whole new bumper costs EUR60. Then to cap it off they invoiced me twice for the same toll charges. An absolute shambles from start to finish. Go to Centauro or Europcar, much better quality in every way.

Très bonne voiture , neuve, RENAULT Megane Estate bien équipée. Le gps pas à jour par contre. La clim à 35 degrés était un peu tendancieuse... Par contre + d’une Heure d’attente à l’aéroport de Porto. Gagner du temps en partant de Nantes plutôt que Paris. 1h30 d’avion pour passer autant de temps à poireauter .. c’est rentable !! 2 guichets puis 3, puis 2 ... les portugais(e)s sont très accueillant(e)s mais manquent cruellement de professionnalisme. Nous avons été surclassé avec 45€ De supplément sur la semaine pour avoir un break et un moteur diesel pour avoir un plus gros réservoir et payer moins cher.... sur la feuille c’était bien écrit gasolina mais on nous a assuré d’être en diesel.. finalement pas du tout c’était bien essence (gasolina) et l’essence coûte bien plus cher et consomme plus que le diesel. En résumé il ne faut pas s’avancer sur des choses non fondées. Car nous n’avions pas non plus besoin d’un break pour 3 personnes.

Voyage il y a 10 mois , petite rayure en bas de pare choc pas vu au départ car véhicule collé au mur , je conteste par écrit au retour ....résultat , sans le moindre message, ni justificatif depuis 10 mois , on vient de me prélever 235 euros sur ma carte bancaire ... tout simplement inadmissible , l'emprunte de carte bancaire à l'étranger n'est pas sans conséquences avec une entreprise aux méthodes plus que douteuses...à fuir.

Definitely I don't Recommend I am very disappointed about Sixt company. They are trying to steal money from me with different clauses in the contract. I rented a car in Porto Airport on 23 March this year and was a huge mistake. First of all, I do not understand why they returned my warranty and then after a month Said they found a scratch and we have to pay 300 euros. When I checked out the car they told I would not be charged for anything. The scratch was hidden under the car and we had no way to looking under the car when we had rented the car. When I rented the car They announced me that it's a scratch on the back side the of the car. It's not a coincidence that the scratch they found was right under the scratch that they talking at the beginning. Both scratches were probably made at the same time by another client before me. They are good at scamming people

Péssimo atendimento na loja Porto - centro. Veículo entregue com air bag do passageiro desativado, sem manual de instruções para reativar. Não informaram existência de dispositivo anti retorno em rampas, apesar de ser um veículo de câmbio manual. Isto causou danos à pintura do veículo em uma rampa em curva ascendente de estacionamento, pois o veículo não retornou ao acionar a embreagem.

Mucho cuidado!!!! Alquilamos un coche para dos días con franquicia, ya que íbamos a hacer pocos km y dormiría siempre en un lugar seguro. A la hora de recoger el coche el empleado se limita a enseñarnos una serie de arañazos externos que tenía en una lista (en ningun momento se nos enseña el interior ni el equipamiento con el que cuenta). Confiando en su profesionalidad partimos nuestro viaje y para nuestra sorpresa, a la hora de devolverlo en el aeropuerto, el empleado nos pregunta que si habíamos fumado en el coche, (a lo que respondemos que no, ya que ninguno fumamos), porqep había visto un pequeño quemazón en el asiento que ni habíamos visto. Tras esto, nos dice que no hay ningún problema, que escriba en el parte que no he fumado y todo OK. Pues bien, días después nos llega un email en el que nos piden más de 800€ por la reparación. Teníamos franquicia de 900€... casualidad??? En definitiva, andad con ojo ya que no hay muchos motivos para confiar en la profesionalidad de esta compañía.

Aluguei veículos da Sixt por duas vezes, pegando em Lisboa e entregando em Porto e ao inverso também. Em todas as locações, nada que desapontasse a minha opinião fora criado, no Aeroporto de Lisboa a atendente quis induzir-me a trocar o veículo com informações errôneas de que o mesmo não deitaria os encostos dos bancos, eu estava com várias malas e o veículo era um compacto, porém após algum diálogo, prevaleceu a minha opinião e a reserva. No final, tudo foi tranquilo na entrega e devolução dos veículos (sempre limpos e bons).

The customer service was good and the car was in good shape (nearly new) However I originally booked a car category such as vw polo or Renault clio and got a Mitsubishi spacestar instead. I did not realize this at first but this car is 25 cm shorter than the other cars mentioned. On top of that the car is clearly under powered with its 0.9l engine. I could barely reach 100 km/h in the hilly porto countryside highways. When returning the car the agent confirmed the car is considered the same category by Sixt and that all their models from this category have a 0.9l engine. I strongly disagree with Sixt about the category of the car and the engine choice.

Schon vor meiner Miete hatte ich hier ein paar negative Rezensionen gelesen und hatte dem entsprechend natürlich meine Bedenken. Gebucht ( ADAC ) war ein Fahrzeug der Klasse IDMR ( BMW 1er, Audi A3 ...) leider war vor Ort nur eine Mercedes A Klasse verfügbar. Es überraschte mich aber positiv, dass der Mitarbeiter vor Ort nachvollziehen konnte, dass ich nicht sehr glücklich mit diesem Fahrzeug werden würde. Wir einigten uns auf ein Upgrade zu einem BMW 4er Gran Coupe 420 d aus der Gruppe LDAR zu einem sehr fairen Preis. Die Ausstattung war SIXT entsprechend gut: M-Sportpaket; Alcantara Sitze; Navi-Professional ... Ich wurde auch zu keinem Zeitpunkt zum Abschließen irgendwelcher zusätzlichen Versicherungen gedrängt. Es wurde mir lediglich die automatische Mauterfassung empfohlen. Alles in allem eine angenehme Miete.

arnaque a la rayure. lorsqu’on restitue la voiture un employé se précipite dans les 5 segondes vers un endroit bien précis et a genoux les main par terre nous dit ...il y a une rayure sous le bas de caisse a cette endroit .rayure que l'on ne voit pas lorsque l'on n'est debout sur le coté du véhicule...Résultat .35 eur de frais de dossier plus 262 eur de réparation .

Ruim! Recebi cobranças indevidas em meu cartão de crédito, minhas reclamações por e-mail foram ignoradas, pois não houve o estorno. Houve alteração unilateral do contrato e me cobraram um tanque cheio, quando, na verdade, devolvi o veículo com o tanque 95% cheio, e apena por faltar 5% , me cobraram um tanque inteiro! Os agentes do aeroporto de Porto são arrogantes, despreparados para tratar com o cliente, e tentam a todo custo te intimidar com tratamento hostil!

Péssimo negócio! Atendimento incluiu serviços no meu pacote sem avisar que haveria custo. Falaram várias informações maliciosamente equivocadas e tentaram cobrar por um plástico do tapete do veículo duas semanas após a entrega. Definitivamente não recomendado.

Péssimo atendimento Não são cordiais...Não fazem a menor questão de serem amigáveis. Estava a retornar um veiculo retirado em Lisboa...e toda a boa imagem da Sixt que tive lá, foi negativada na loja do Porto. Não questiono os procedimentos.Mas a qualidade do atendimento....principalmente em se tratando de um segmento do setor de serviço. O mínimo que se espera é um sorriso na cara e que falem olhando para Vc e não para a prancheta ou monitor!!!!!!

Péssimo. Queriam me cobrar diárias adicionais, quando já havia entregue o carro. Tirei fotos, mostrei onde o carro estava estacionado e o procedimento de retorno das chaves. Cobraram uma portagem quando já havia devolvido o carro. Após alguns dias e emails trocados, além das fotografias que enviei, finalmente deram a baixa no aluguel. Para minha surpresa, mais de 1 mês depois, enviaram uma cobrança de danos - não causados por mim - na roda. Perderam um cliente.

The car I rented broke down. Help desk was unfriendly, unhelpful and unprofessional. Towing truck more than 2 hours just to find me with exact GPS coordinates. My day was completly ruined. On top of all, Sixt OVERCHARGED me, and ignored my letter of complaint. I definately do not recommend Sixt Portugal.

出發前驗車人員檢查隨便也沒跟我們點清設備就交車給我們, 在我們還車時櫃檯沒有任何服務人員,那時還是營業時間, 當時驗車人員請我們簽名還車時我還再度詢問是否有任何問題, 他說一切OK我們可以離開了,結果是我們回國後收到索討費用, 內容是從頭到尾我們都沒看過的三角警示燈和車上的資料(到現在我還是不知道那資料到底是什麼)遺失的賬單, 若當時能直接跟我們說明我們還可以使用我們已購買的保險, 或是調閱監視器證明我們根本車上沒有出現過那些被指控的物品, 就算是語言溝通的差異,也應該在當下向我們說明費用, 信件來回溝通也無法得到任何誠意的答案, 這樣的結果讓人難以信賴SIXT 的租車服務。

I won't make the mistake of reserving with them again. We waisted 2 hours with them from our vacation just to have less than what we should have had in the first place. They said my Capital One credit card was not a credit card and this woman insisted on this. Then charged us an extra 100€ to pay with this "non credit card" credit card. Eventually an hour and a half later we spoke with the manager and he ran the card in their "international system" and it magicly said my credit card was in fact a credit card. They still charged us an extra 100€ and we recieved a car under the class of what we had reserved because there were now no cars left in the class we had reserved. But the price didn't change for our 2 week rental. Also, we reserved through an outside site (big error it turns out) which charged us for the insurance on the vehicle but when we arrived at sixt there was no insurance on the vehicle so they wanted to charge us an extra 270€ for the insurance. If I would have known what mysterious charges we would have been charged, we would have reserved with Hertz or Avis, they are atleast more upfront with their high prices! So, in the end we paid just as much as we would have paid for a higher quality service. I am dreading what will happen when we return the vehicle.

We rented a car from Sixt at Porto airport on Sept. 8 until Sept. 18, 2018. After reading a lot of negative reviews we hesitated a lot. But always renting from Sixt and always being totally satisfied, we "took the risk".Contrary to what we read in some reviews, everything went smoothly and quickly, nobody tried to make us take an upgrade, the car had a small scratch which was immediately mentioned, the toll system (cannot be without it) was explained correctly and put in service in the' car, the kind lady at the reception (Sara?) even took time to explain in detail every detail of the car (lights, brake, window cleaner, radio ...etc) so that we could take the road immediately. The car was almost brand new. Unfortunately we had a small accident (our own fault). At the return of the car Mr. Tiago and Mrs Angélica couldn't be more friendly and assured us that the scratch was minor and anyway we had full assurance. Everything was arranged quickly and a taxi called to take us to Porto.We always take Sixt in several countries in Eeurope and we will definitely continue to do so.

They give me a car not checked and not washed. After 50km, the light system brake start... they told us to give back the vehicule to change it, but at the airport. The sixt agency airport just refresh the parameters without any check of the security of the car !!! Sixt played with our lives... hopefully they have another car in stock because they told us that if they have not a vehicule with the same caracterisics they could not change the car !! Very very bad experience, last Time with sixt, I don’t recommand it.

Empresa que não explica exatamente as cobranças. Cobram um pré pago de tanque de combustível, não avisam que é opcional, alegando que depois o valor é descontado conforme o tanque. No entanto o valor só é devolvido se o tanque estiver cheio. Qualquer outra quantidade de combustível eles cobram o valor integral.

Very unpleasant experience. We rented a car for a week and to avoid traps and unreasonable charges we decided to go with sixt rather than a cheap local option. The price was more than double of what other places charged but we still went for it. When returning the car the very snobby unfriendly gentleman told us there was a (tiny) scratch on the hood for which we will be charged around 100€. We honestly did not know where the scratch came from so he proceeded to tell us that people often key-scratch rental cars. He therefore admitted that we were not at fault but still wants to charge us for it. Unbelievable how a global company can have such poor customer service.

I have been charged for a scratch I did not make on the car. I was told a scratch that was on the car when I picked it up in Lisbon was superficial and not an issue. On dropping the car off in Porto, they have charged me for the scratch. Not right.

The car was fine and clean... But we had some problems with a staff member. First he wanted to sell us extra insurance for the car and when he saw that we are not interested, he suggested that we can cancel our reservation (which we did over our flight website) and get a new contract with the sixt company which has insurance and is cheaper! We didn't want to do that either. Then he turned impolite and did everything to make us buy it additionally he gave us misleading information about the gasoline prices and toll systems in order to assure us that the deal that he is giving us is the best. We had booked a Full to Full tank policy but he changed it to Pre-Purchase without asking us and he was trying to convince us that it is a good deal. But it is only a good deal if you bring the car completely empty! which as you can imagine is impossible. I recommend you to stay strong and inform yourself in advance in order to not have a bad start of your vacation.

Rented a car for a week at porto aeroport last week for € 105,00.. Had to pay 300 euro deposit that I was told to get back within 2 days after returning the car. Service at place was good but still a week after I returned the car, I have not received my deposit back yet!!! Send mails but no reaction so far. They did take extra money from my creditcard for the toll to pay for almost € 3,00 euro. But no return of the deposit. Please help!! Car rental is very expensive this way:-(

Peguei o carro em Lisboa e o carro quebrou depois de 7 dias. Tive que pegar outro carro na loja do Porto e, além de não ter outro carro da mesma categoria, me deram um carro de categoria diferente, que não atendia minha necessidades. além disso, cobraram um valor de combustível referente ao carro anterior, sem nem ver quanto tinha de combustível, e o atendente disse pra eu não me preocupar que não seria cobrado na fatura final... resultado depois do aluguel, cobraram o combustível indevidamente.

Wir haben eine Auto im Juli 2019 gemietet. Das Auto und alle Leistungen waren wie vorher Reserviert. Die Verständigung auf Englisch war sehr gut. Guter Service. Empfehlenswert. Der Portugiesische Verkehr ist im Vergleich zum Deutschen aber gewöhnungsbedürftig.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Upon returning vehicle, was made aware of small scratch on bumper. Minor imperfection, definitely not down to primer or plastic. Charged 150€ + 35€ handling fee on top of rental 2 weeks after returning vehicle. 2 weeks after that got charge for tolls that we did not use. All in all shady business, shop around before settling with SIXT.

Empresa desonesta. Aluguei um carro no porto por apenas um dia. Ao devolver o carro foi feita a vistoria e me foi dito que estava tudo ok e que nada havia de problemas. Mas alguns dias depois me foi enviado um email com uma segunda vistoria e que nesta segunda oportunidade eles acharam danos não identificados na primeira vistoria que foi feita em minha presença e que iriam debitar de meu cartão esses danos o valor de 286,00 euros. Lendo os comentários percebo que a prática desse golpe é comum por parte dessa empresa. Não recomendo pois sem transparência não há confiança.

NE LOUEZ PAS CHEZ SIXT !!!! ce sont des voleurs/casseurs lors de la remise de la voiture il nous donnes les clefs et partent donc je vous conseille de faire un tour lorsque vous allez la rendre si il vous disent de la laisser au parkings SURTOUT PAS!!!! Car il vont en donner des rayures imaginaires et vont vous facturer 500€ donc il est meilleur de la déposer la voiture quand il sont ouverts faites bien le tour des lieux FAITES ATTENTION IL VA VÉRIFIER PARTOUT!!! après il va vous donner une tablette et va vous demander de signer mais tout est cachées après vous allez recevoir une facture redoutable

Excellent service! We had a minor accident with the car (bumper damage only) and the staff that inspected it was very polite, informative and walked us through the process in every detail. All the repair bills and photos of the damage were emailed to me promptly. I filed the claim with my extended insurance coverage (not SIXT insurance) and received a cheque 1 week later. Very happy with the process and service!

Alugamos um carro em Porto e na hora da retirada o veículo estava exalando cigarro, muito embora seja proibido fumar nesses carros. Reclamamos mas fomos informados que não seria possível fazer nada. Chegaram ao absurdo de sugerir que colocássemos um aromatizante no veículo . Como estavamos atrasados para ir a coimbra, optamos por não perder os compromissos. O problema é que o cheiro de cigarro não era aquele que sentimos na entrega. Eles mascararam abrindo as janelas, cientes do problema. No caminho, mesmo com as janelas abertas, o cheiro permaneceu. Quando chegamos a Coimbra, tivemos que deixar as malas no carro porque o check in ainda não era possível. Quando retornamos, nossas malas e roupas era puro cigarro. O carro parece um cinzeiro. É um crime alugar um carro nessas condições a alguém. Além de tudo, ainda estava sujo!! Não atenderam as reclamações por telefone nem responderam ao email que enviamos.

ANNA RITA a rude and incompetent staff member tries every lie in the book to upgrade you and give you wrong details. She said i should upgrade to diesel car for 98Euro as it will save me petrol.... i only put 78 Euros of petrol in the car i rented! She the tried to say i should opt for the empty tank option to save me money for 57Euro..... i only filled up with 30 Euro before return. This woman a a fraud. Just book the car you have and leave with that..! Do not trust anything she says. Lastly you would be lucky if you leave with the car you have booked in the first place. As the more you say no to upgrade the more she get rude and annoyed and gives you the worse car. Totally SHAMEFUL service and get worse when you complain to the CEO!

The car provided was okay (Grand Renault Scenic), but the seat belt in the center back seat is messed up and cannot be buckled up!! The staff was very unprofessional and cannot care less to help but say it was normal. We later figure out that the buckle and the belt was flipped 180 degrees and fixed by ourselves. What a shame, would never use Sixt again!

La peggiore esperienza che potessi avere. Ho noleggiato un auto con sixt per 11 giorni, tramite il sito europecar.it ho aggiunto la super cover che però una volta a Porto non mi è stata riconosciuta, ma anzi chiesto un supplemento di 180 euro. Sono passati due mesi e mi arrivano constantemente piccoli addebiti, tra cui 70 euro di benzina nonostante l'abbia riportata con il pieno. Il problema sta nel fatto che la distanza e la lingua non permettono l'interazione e che quindi la frode di questa azienda è infermabile. Si risparmia con un jet privato.

Voyage début du mois de juillet. Voiture récupérée avec eraflures sur le capot droit, le gars nous dit que ce n est rien, on fait qd mm des photos dès le lendemain matin. Ça n a pas loupé, ils nous l ont imputées à notre retour. Sans parler de la barrière de la langue, et leur mauvaise foi! C est une arnaque. A FUIR!!

Rented a car and felt the vehicle was subpar, it was a manual car and the clutch was messed up and could barely make it up inclines from a stopped position. After the rental I see they charged me a daily fee of roadside assistance when I had stated I didn't want any additional services and customer support was unhelpful. I recommend using a different rental company even if it it's slightly more money, you'll save in the long run.

Premesso che viaggio molto, ma é la prima volta che mi hanno consegnato la macchina all'aperto nonostante un tempo pessimo e ovviamente non ho potuto controllarne perfettamente le condizioni.. Risultato al check out hanno trovato un graffietto non fatto da me sul paraurti anteriore quasi neanche visibile.. Dopo 8 mesi mi sono visto addebitare sulla carta di credito 185€.. Mai più sixt!!

Commande accepté sur le net, une fois sur place, aucune de nos 5 CB n'est acceptée pour la caution. Nos comptes sont pourtant approvisionnés. Impossible de payer par un autre moyen (apple pay, chèque, cash). Résultat, nous sommes contraints d'annuler la réservation. Remboursement sous 10j!!! Une honte. Je vous passe l'accueil déplorable d'une des vendeuses. Fuyez!!!

Terrible experience. At the pickup, they tried to upsell us (which is standard); but what made this different is that they outright lied to us to try to up sell. They stated the next model was 80 Euros more, but Diesel is so much cheaper we would save at least 80 Euros... I'm so glad I smelled the BS in the air because we didn't even spend 80 Euros in gas on the entire trip.. Now to returning the vehicle. We actually stopped at two separate gas stations within a few miles of the airport because the gas pump turned off prematurely. At the second one we manually tried to push it to full, but the attendant still claimed it was only 7/8ths. We showed him the receipts and he stated "this happens all the time", but (days later) we still were charged ~45 Euros for not returning full.. They are a deceiving business and don't have their customer's best interest in mind. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION OR FROM SIXT IN GENERAL.

Freundliche Mitarbeiter! Niemand hat versucht uns irgendwas anzudrehen was wir nicht wollten. Die Erklärung der elektronischen Maut war verständlich und schnell erklärt. Wir hatten innerhalb von 30 Minuten einen sehr sauberen, gepflegten Seat Ibiza und konnten los fahren! :-) die Buchung erfolgte im Voraus über billiger-mietwagen.de Absolut zu empfehlen! :-)

We did not damage the car and we bought the insurance. Stay away

A pior experiência que já tive em locação de carro. Paguei a locação no Brasil, porém meu voo atrasou e quando cheguei na cidade do Porto já estava fechada . No dia seguinte fui buscar o carro , simplesmente não estava lá . Disseram que não tinham mais o carro , no caso de nove lugares , família completa. Funcionário P.Pinto tratando com certa agressividade . Tive que fazer novo contrato, de maior valor e automóvel inferior . Não recomendo para ninguém. Brasileiros cuidado

Wir haben vom Hotel aus eine Mercedes telefonisch reserviert, trotzdem wurde uns eine BMW geliefert (grundsätzlich kein Problem). Beim „check-in“ erschien eine Sixt Mitarbeiter pünktlich und gute vorbereitet. Zwar beim „check-out“ erschien niemand... nach langem warten, haben wir uns entschlossen das Auto direkt an der Geschäftsstelle zu fahren. Der Chef war ansichtig und entschuldigte sich für die Umständen. Als Entschuldigung wurden wir kostenlos bis zur Downtown gefahren.

Oszuści i złodzieje. Mafijne metody działania. Po 3 miesiącach wysyłają mi zdjęcia uszkodzonego auta. Mam zdjęcia samochodu który pożyczałem - są te same uszkodzenia. Omijać - nie dać się nabrać na kolorowe logo.

My worst rental car experience ever…. Iam traveling a lot due to Business reasons and I really do have a lot of experiences in renting cars worldwide. We picked up the car in Faro und tried to drop it off in Porto. Iam not kidding this procedure took almost 5o minutes because the guy was kneeing and searching "something" around the car…. Finally a litlle scratch on the left front wheel was the reason to try to charge me 150 Euro including "service charge" of 35 Eur. My opinion is they are trying to decoy you with low rates and if you dont add all this service/insurence bündle they try to find any reason to charge you with more Money. So: Hands off from Sixt Portugal!!!

Aluguei um carro por 14 dias. Aluguei pelo booking. Paguei seguro total. Paguei tudo adiantado. Só teria que pagar pelo selo verde e se desse pegar um carro a diesel. Chegando para pegar o carro. 1 = pedi para pegar um carro com combustível a diesel, para isso teria que pagar uma taxa extra, 2 = a moça falou que deveria fazer o seguro, pois o que fiz não tinha cobertura para eles. Informei que já tinha feito e pago pelo booking. Então ela falou, faça apenas para pneus e vidros. Não fiz, pois o seguro pelo booking que fiz era total, 3 = paguei uma taxa pelo selo verde, pelos 14 dias, aí venho a surpresa, 4 = tem 3 opções de caminhos no GPS, as três opções são para desviar de pedágio. Você está numa alto estrada, e o GPS te manda sair o tempo todo. Num percurso pelo Google map de 2 horas e meia, o GPS do carro te dá como opção três percursos de mais de 4 horas. Então, fique esperto com está empresa. Mas tem outras que também fazem assim. Está não é a única que aplica este golpe,

We booked online Renault Captur with free aditional driver and full to full tank. At the counter we got an "upgrade" to BMW 1 series which included prepaid fuel. It was not offered to us as a choice, but given to us like a "bonus". But prepaid fuel is the worst option you can get. We left the car with half tank full and paid whole tank for 67 EUR. Sixt will not refund you any remaining fuel. Also additional driver was not offered at the counter but we don't mind. But the process of picking up the car was fast and returning of the car was even faster and without any problems. So just watch out about fuel options and try to refuse prepaid fuel.

This is a very good rental location option if you're in porto for a while. Sixt usually has the best car selection, the staff is friendly and multilingual, and the prices can't be beat. A few tips in general for Portuguese rentals though: 1. Rent on a credit card that offers full damage protection. There's a very high probability your car will get dinged, scratched, bumped, or curb rashed. 2. Take pictures of the car before and after. 3. Check to see if the car has a spare tire! The spray can fixaflat will do nothing if you have a blowout like I did. 4.get a toll pass receiver - saves huge hassle and saves time on the highways with your own lane Now, this sixt location was very good to me despite me pranging up their car in Valença-fair and understanding and worked with me quickly to make sure I had all the documentation for my insurance coverage (see point #1 above!) Location is 10 min walk from casa da musica tram stop and 3 mins drive from the peripherico highway. Easier and cheaper to rent here.

Be really careful with this car rental, they are not honest. Just have a look on the number of scams already reported on Google. Yesterday we bring back the car we rent at the closing hour, the sailor charges us with a micro crush we didn't even notice in the morning (less than à milimeter) but that's the first thing she checked. Amazing chance ! Of course nothing to do, because it is week-end... Never Sixt again !

We rented our car online in order to make the process easier and quicker when we picked up our car. However, we waited for over an hour to get our car... not a fun way to spend our precious holiday time. Besides there being a large queue when we went to get our car, the information we provided in our reservation did not carry over, so the insurance and Day rate and services we selected were all different and the total given to us was double what we reserved online. The salesperson corrected this and when we finally went to get our car, they were not ready. Despite our reservation being for 10:30, we waited until noon and the car was still being cleaned. Super inefficient and without any reason or apology.

We rented a Fiat 500 at sixt for 5 days. We loved our experience. The service was nice, quick and fair. All we needed was a drivers licence and a credit card on the drivers name. The only thing we added to the cost was the insurance for tires and glass (fortunately we didnt need it:). So the end cost of our rental was around 50eur. The only minus is the fact that you have to pay additional 8eur/day to have an additional driver. Otherwise a very good experience.

Additional fees added at return!!! I do not recommend the Sixt Car Rental at Avenida da Boavista 1203, in Porto, Portugal. They charged us a €50 cleaning fee for a spot on the backseat that was literally smaller than the size of a dime. Had we seen the spot prior to returning the car, we would have cleaned it ourselves - it was a small drop of custard that was in a flaky pastry we had (mistakenly!) let our child eat in the car. We were in a huge hurry to return the car, arrange for transport after dropping off the car, and getting ready for our flight, so if we had time, we would have brushed the crumbs out of the car and seen the small bit of custard. I was so taken aback when Michelle, the associate at Sixt, told us we would be charged €50 for the spot, that I immediately went to the ladies room to get some paper towels and water to clean the seat myself. I had only had a few seconds to rub the area and had almost removed the spot when my husband asked me to stop and not worry about it. The fee was just to clean the spot and not vacuum the car (which would have taken care of the pastry crumbs). We had spent an additional €500 for complete car coverage (total of €1350 for ten days) when renting the car, yet they could not see fit to waive a €50 fee to clean a tiny spot of custard on the seat which would have been removed in two minutes of gentle cleaning with soap and water. Absolutely ridiculous! Yet, Michelle told us that she was a mother herself and understood children's messes. Watch out for this Sixt location and additional charges!
