Where I stayed in Porto, House of Pandora, had a lot to do with how much I enjoyed the city. House of Pandora is a unique place for multiple reasons, starting by its owners Patricia and Dora. That's why it's called Pandora! These inspiring women are best friends that after both going through a life threatening car accident decided to create this unique and magical space. They renovated a run down house outside the center of Porto, where a family had lived for many generations. The women of that family had a history of being strong women, like Patricia and Dora themselves. When renovating, they maintained as much as they could of the past as it was possible. The house's exterior was painted the same color as it originally was, a peachy pink. The superb Art Nouveau decorated ceilings, the wainscoting in the walls, the central wooden staircase and the incredible stained-glass window that stands by it were also maintained as original, among many other things. Additionally, the house was decorated with artworks of mostly Portuguese artists and actually each of the nine rooms themselves are dedicated to a different Portuense artist recreating the environments that characterize them and inscribing them in the space. The room I stayed was dedicated to cello player, Guilhermina Suggia and actually had a cello as part of the decoration which I though was a unique touch. As of other amenities in the hotel, House of Pandora has a spacious garden filled with fruit trees, a pool and...a spa! Yes, after touristing Porto for a full day you can relax in the jacuzzi, sauna or even book a massage. This for me was the icing on the cake that made an already fabulous place, even more fabulous. Moreover, if you book breakfast Patricia will cook you a delicious home made breakfast which is to die for and is happy to cater for your dietary requirements. She made me an incredibly gourmet avocado toast which I won't forget. It's worth mentioning that House of Pandora is not close to the center of Porto however this was not at all an issue for me. I actually walked to the hotel from the center every time, but if you don't feel like walking, an Uber from the center costs something around 6 EUR.

Patricia and Dora, who own and run the property were delightful. The house is Art Deco in style and very well appointed. We loved staying there.

Visited Pandora Mansion myself (24m) with my partner (23f). We spent a few days in Porto and honestly could not recommend this Hotel highly enough. The Hotel itself; the hotel is a beautiful building with spacious rooms, good storage and clean modern bathrooms - it is secure with an electronic card to access the property and then individual room keys. Communal space is plenty with a sofa area with a TV and books, as well as a large garden which has all the facilities you could need; a bar, pool, outdoor seating, grass area with trees and chairs and tables for relaxing, including a spa - which features a hot tub, sauna, hydro-massage shower and a room for massages which can all be booked with the host for a good price. Breakfast is served in the morning downstairs in a large room with other guests and is delicious. Upon arriving Patricia showed us attentively around the house and showed us all the facilities and made us feel like it was our home away from home. Staff are very friendly and do a fantastic job. My only point to note here is the Hotel's location, it is around 30-45 minute walk to the City centre, which is completely manageable on sunny days and is a pleasant walk. Ubers are very accessible from the hotel and cost only around 6 euros to the centre. As well as this there are bus routes near-by maybe 5-10 minute walk to the nearest bus stop and only a short 15 minute walk from the metro where all of Porto can be easily reached in a short time. We went out late most nights, as most of Porto's bars are open until 6am. Never had any issues in getting back to the hotel in the early hours and no problems with getting into the secure property. Patricia & Dora; The hostesses of this place are truly amazing with no question or request being a problem for them whatsoever. I cannot stress how genuinely lovely these two women are and how full of life and love they showed us their guests during our stay. You can tell from the minute you meet them they love this hotel and they love what they do, they hope to make their guests happy and succeed every time. Patricia gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants, bars, sights to see and activities to do. She happily booked us a port tour and had arranged a boat tour for us which unfortunately was cancelled due to bad weather, but despite this Patricia came to us with two other options of activities to do in the beautiful city of Porto - in the end they came with us to one of Porto's escape rooms. They made us feel like old friends who hadn't seen eachother in a long time. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, if you are young and looking to experience Porto's nightlife and then nurse your hangover the following morning poolside this is the place for you. If you are older and are looking for a quieter visit to Porto and to take life a little slower this is also the place for you. The hotel has a positive atmosphere and respect of other guests and the hotel is highlighted by the hostesses from check-in. Honestly, there is nothing I disliked about my stay. Patricia, Dora, Christina and the rest of the Hotel staff are fantastic and they deserve every success for the future. If I return to Porto I will be staying here again

Was nice all the way through , but charged 15$ for a box of chocolates we didnt ask for. That was 20% of the total price of the stay. An Absolute joke , giving a 1 , otherwise would be a 5, so beware of things like these. ~

Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen, konnten unsere Koffer schon früh morgends im Hotel deponieren. nach dem einchecken bekamen wir einen Begrüßungsdrink in Form einer eisgekühlten Sektflasche ! ,die wir dann auch auf unserem eigenen Balkon genossen haben .Währen unserem Aufenthalt hatte mein Mann Geburtstag , als Überraschung gab es Portwein und einen kleinen Kuchen .Die öffentlichen Verbindungen vom Hotel in die City / Altstadt waren problemlos , man ist schnell hin - und hergefahren ( wir hatten von zu Hause bereits Tickets für alle Tage gekauft, können wir nur empfehlen ) . In der näheren Umgebung gibt es tolle Lokale in denen man hauptsächlich Einheimische trifft und man sehr gut und günstig essen kann , auch frühstücken im Hotel oder in der Nähe ist problemlos.Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen , wobei die milden Temperaturen im Januar und die Sonne auch ihren Beitrag geleistet haben.

Estuvimos unos días y todo fue genial. La casa es una preciosidad, con una decoración cuidada, la habitación espaciosa y la cama cómoda, todo limpísimo. Bien comunicada, la parada del autobús muy cerca y metro un poco más lejos. El personal muy amable y siempre dispuesto a ayudar en todo lo posible. Sin duda muy recomendable. Seguramente volveremos. Muchas gracias.

Maravilhoso paraíso no centro do Porto. A zona é muito calma, mas bastante próxima de locais centrais. Há sempre uma surpresa extra nesta casa, elegantemente decorada, mas que sentimos como nossa.. muito pela forma como a Patrícia nos deixa à vontade. Vai sentir-se parte da família rapidamente. Excelente pequeno-almoço e quartos super confortáveis. Não vai querer ir embora. :)

Patricia looked after us well, little extra touches like biscuits in our room after mentioning a sweet tooth. Nothing was too much trouble. We had dinner in a few nights (Cooked by Patricia) and didn’t ask about price at the time (Just add it to the bill) so were a bit shocked when we got our final bill, it was a bit more than we were anticipating. We should’ve requested a breakdown. A lovely stay none the less

This is a beautiful clean house, but the facilities feel more like a hostel than a hotel. The owners are very friendly - but they are not around very much so it doesn’t feel as personal as we were expecting, for example we would like to have received some advice or information on Porto but it was difficult to find someone to talk to. The housekeeper is very friendly and helpful however. We were also expecting there to be a bar by the pool but though the facility was there it wasn’t in operation, and there are no tea and coffee making facilities or a fridge to use so it is not possible to have food or drink outside of breakfast. The spa can be booked but is 20 euros per person for an hour so we decided not to use it.The distance into Porto was not a big issue but there is not very much in the neighbourhood. If you want a quiet stay outside of the busy centre this could be for you, for us the distance and the lack of facilities made our stay less relaxing. If you know what to expect I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

Es una casa espectacular con todo lo que se puede necesitar. Tiene piscina, jacuzzi y sauna. Las habitaciones son enormes. 100% recomendable

We enjoyed our stay at House of Pandora. It is a beautiful property with a high standard of decor and cleanliness. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast is nice with fruits, various patries and bread with hams/cheese.Our room was comfortable and clean.The garden is a nice place to relax or swim as it has a small pool. Theis a spa pool and sauna for use by arrangement.There is drinking water in the rooms, but to be able to make tea or coffee is not possible.The location of this hotel is about a 45 minute walk from the centre of Porto. Using Uber it is easily accessed quickly and cheaply.
