We enjoyed a fantastic visit to this vineyard in August 2019, including a tour of the grounds and tasting a selection of Croft port. The views are spectacular, the staff are friendly and as knowledgeable as it is possible to be about the process of making port and the history of the Croft brand. The Douro valley more generally is a must-visit location in this area of Portugal and I highly recommend spending at least a day or two getting to know the region. There really is so much to see and do.

Excelente - vinhos Croft A visitação se dá primeiramente mostrando-se as vinhas (cultivos). Depois é mostrado o local onde acontece a fermentação, onde ficam as barricas, e por fim tem-se a degustação. Esta visita fez parte de uma excursão de um dia pelo vale do Douro, por isso não sei dizer se é caro ou barato. Mas a visita em si é muito boa e vale a pena. A degustação inclui três vinhos acompanhados por queijos. É bom para comprar os vinhos da Croft que achamos um pouco mais em conta do que na cidade do Porto em si.

Lugar fantástico. Ótimo vinho e esclarecedora visita monitorada!

We only did a tasting at Quinta da Roeda and was a bit disappointed about the selection of wines. We were only able to taste two young vintages. These were both served from a freshly opened bottle and only filtered, leaving a lot of sediments in the glasses. The surrounds are astonishing and the atmosphere relaxed, however it would be nice to be able to taste some of the brands big wines when visiting their origin.

Beautiful views, good portwines and nice people. Pink port was really interesting, I recommended to taste it.

Pretty disappointed. Came highly recommended from another winery. Saw their property and were really excited. Until they saw us. They seemed pretty bothered when we arrived shortly after they opened after 10 am for a tour and tasting. They said a tour would start in 20 minutes. 40 minutes later we were still waiting. So my husband asked them if we could just do the tasting and forgo the tour. All of a sudden they could squeeze us in for a tour if we still wanted it. We said no, just the tasting. They did the tasting which was as disappointing as the service. We saw them greet tour guided patrons a lot more warmly than us. I guess we weren’t worth their time or effort. So far on our Portugal trip the people have been amazing, warm, and friendly. Quinta da Roeda sadly tarnishes that reputation.

Visite très intéressante et site spectaculaire.

The tour isn't as interesting as in smaller places but the view and the estate are absolutely stunning. Such a beautiful place. I would recommend skipping the tour and doing a tasting or just meandering around by yourself a bit.

Depois de um cruzeiro pelo Rio D'Ouro, chega-se ao sítio ideal para turista apreciar um bom vinho do Porto.

Além da paisagem que nos deixa siderados pela beleza, até para os menos sensíveis à obra do Criador, não se pode ficar indiferente ao aspecto cuidado das instalações em perfeita harmonia com a zona envolvente. De salientar ainda o aspecto cuidado das vinhas. Um muito obrigado pela delicadeza e cortesia no acolhimento.

Mooie omgeving en leuk om de gaardes te zien. De tour was daarentegen redelijk schraal tov de prijs die je ervoor betaalt (je kreeg hele korte uitleg en daarna 3 portjes, niet veel van opgestoken).

Beau lieux. Personnel compétent. Bon porto .dommage qu ils ne propose pas de dégustation de plus vieux vins ou portos..mais bon C est peut être une décision de la direction

The estate is beautiful and their Port Wine quite good, but the tour guide was awfully bored - he didn't explain anything and rushed us all along, despite the visit being already very short... As for the tasting, the wine was not accompanied by anything else, like cheese, olives or crackers, which made it a little tedious, since we had 3 wines to taste, with nothing in between... Charming landscape, but the staff's disinterest ruins it all...

Really nice place with a simple and informative tour. Cool to learn a bit about the vinyard itself and not just the port making process. The rose port is really interesting - definitely try it while you're here. As of now Croft is the only brand which offers it. I wouldn't drink it on it's own, but would be great in a cocktail.

Complete rip off . Tour was 5 minutes and the guy didn’t even care. Didn’t explain anything. Go to another one. For the same price you can get one hour tour with people that actually care.

This place was a superb place to stop for a tour and tasting. They were very kind to accommodate me on the day I arrived with 3 delicious port tastings and a brief tour of the vineyard and facilities for €12. The views were spectacular.

Such a beautiful place for a glass of sensational port. We came just for a tasting and walked away with a bottle of the 2008 vintage and incredible photos. A must stop during your Douro valley trip!

An amazing time. The tour was too short. But the viue and a tasting of the vintage Port was a realy good. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I can't wait to come back to this place and enjoy again a glass of vintage port of Quinta da Roēda. I recomend a Port&Tonic cocktail based on the first rose port wine from that vineyard.

Has better views from the tasting rooms than the other close vineyards as it’s up the hill a little bit. And they were generous pours!

Trop court. La dégustation est obligatoirement facturée avec la visite (dommage quand on ne boit pas d’alcool) : 12€. La visite (faite en anglais pour notre part) est extrêmement courte, quelques explications d’ordre générale sur la vigne et le schiste, passage rapide dans le fouloir et c’est finit. S’en suit une dégustation de trois porto avec quelques commentaires. Je regrette de ne pas avoir visité plus amplement la vigne et le domaine, d’avoir eu des explications sur les outils, etc.

A paisagem é maravilhosa. Foi uma experiência inesquecível, pois além de ver as vinhas de perto ainda aprendemos sobre como ocorre a produção das uvas, que foi um aprendizado sensacional. E depois de aprender, visitar e conhecer, fizemos uma degustação que foi espetacular. Amei a experiência e recomendo 100%.

Muy mala experiencia. Muy poco profesionales, escaso entusiasmo en las explicaciones, dificultades para oír lo que decían; para grupos tan grandes se necesita megafonía. Y no es una cata, es una tomadura de pelo, te dan a probar un solo vino. La peor experiencia en una semana en Portugal. Prometo no comprar vino de Croft nunca en mi vida.

UNA DE LAS MÁS BELLAS QUINTAS DEL CORAZON DEL VALLE VINATERO DEL DUERO, PATRIMONIO DE LA HUMANIDAD POR SUS VIÑEDOS Cruzando el Duero por el puente de hierro legamos a Pinhao, la capital oficiosa del vino de oporto, un pequeño pueblo con un puerto fluvial. Allí, en sus redondeadas montañas, se encuentran algunas de las más importantes quintas productoras de vino de oporto y del Douro. Las quintas son fincas donde se cultiva la uva, que cuentan con las necesarias instalaciones para los trabajos y para recibir a los visitantes. Es ahí donde se cultivan los viñedos, se hace la vendimia, y se exprime la uva, en algunas todavía al modo antiguo pisándola con los pies descalzos, y en otras mediante prensas, y el mosto obtenido pasa inmediatamente a camiones cisterna que lo llevan a Oporto para su elaboración y envejecimiento y, en su momento, su embotellado. La casi totalidad de las quintas no tienen bodegas o caves donde almacenar y envejecer el vino, si no que este proceso se realiza en Oporto. Esta quinta está situada en el pueblo de Pinhao el corazón del valle vinatero del Douro, a unos 150 km de Oporto, que produce los vinos de oporto de la marca Croft, muy acreditada, y también vinos de la DOP Douro. Un emocionante paseo entre las viñas, inmersos en un verdadero espectáculo de belleza, con un especialista explicándonos todo el proceso de cultivo de la vid y obtención del mosto. Después, en una preciosa construcción de estilo rural, con una terraza con unas vistas magníficas del rio, de viñedos ondulantes que bajan hasta el río, y de pequeños bosques de olivares, la cata de tres vinos: un rosado muy agradable, un tawny y un excelente reserva de 10 años. Visita muy recomendable, tanto para conocer sobre la producción del vino de oporto ( y del Duero), como por los impresionantes paisajes que se exytienden alrededor de la quinta.

Nice (but short) tour in the wine yards compensated by the great port tasting experience. On Sunday afternoon was completely empty, to relax and enjoy in the sun, silence, with amazing view

They gave us a personal tour and tasting after hours. Allowed us to sit at the picnic table and enjoy the views while they brought several tastings. They sat with us a chatted like old friends do. Amazing.
