We went to Atlantico shortly after it had reopened, following the lock down. The staff took all the measures to make us feel safe as well as welcomed. We opted for a few starters to share (The prawns and octopus salad were amazing) followed by Sole Meunier and Swordfish. All dishes were fresh, well cooked and generous in size. We will certainly be back…

Great service, great food, great wine selection.
We loved our evening at Atlantico. We had a small selection of some couverts, asparagus risotto, and the sea bass, as well as the panna cotta with figs and walnuts- all of which were delicious. Server was knowledgeable about the wine and gave us good recommendations.
Would recommend!

Inteteressante Speisekarte. Vor allem der Wolfsbarsch war genau richtig auf den Punkt grilliert, saftig, nicht trocken aber bissfest. Sehr kompetente Bedienung. Schöne Aussicht aufs Meer. Moderate Preise.

Sehr aufmerksamer Service, toller Blick zur Küche, angenehme Atmosphäre, Essen kam zügig und war sehr köstlich, gute Lage, kreative Karte(Speisen mit dem gewissen Extra, Wein-und Spirituosenauswahl), hübsch angerichtet, frisch und regional, klein und fein, bestes Restaurant für uns in Luz! *Chapeau* Vielen Danke!!

Vor zwei Wochen besuchte ich mit einem befreundeten Paar das von ihnen empfohlene Restaurant Atlantico.
Obwohl Saisonende - und aus diesem Grund - nur wenige Tische besetzt, empfing uns der Manager hochmotiviert, freundlich und kompetent.
Das von uns gewählte Essen - jeweils 3 Vor - und Hauptspeisen war ausgezeichnet und frisch von dem sympathischen , jungen Koch zubereitet .Ausgesprochen angetan waren wir von den Miesmuscheln im Weißweinsud die uns als großzügige Vorspeise serviert wurde. Nach den Hauptgängen und 2 Flaschen vorzüglichem Sauvignon Blancs, verließen wir beschwingt und hoch zufrieden das kleine Atlantico, welches
nach der kurzen Winterpause im Januar,auch passend zu der Küche in neuem Glanz erstrahlen soll.

Great staff, the manager welcomed us and had a lot of knowledge to describe all the dishes. Made it easy to choose. A small and cozy restaurant, I recommend to make reservations if you are a group. Drawbacks were that the food took a long time to arrive, also the swordfish was tasty (first time for me eating swordfish) but a bit dry.

Fantastic.
We had three courses for two people including a bottle of delicious house Vino Verde for €65.
Including fried squid, piri piri prawns (which was amazing), sword fish, poached octopus (which was beautifully tender) and two great deserts.
Lovely staff (especially Fernando), they were very nice throughout the meal and booking (via email).
First time visitors and it hopefully won't be the last :)

This is a very popular Portuguese Restaurant beside the local Church. Very friendly, efficient staff, great food, wide choice and reasonably priced. Worth a visit.

Eine Oase in der gastronomischen Wüste von Luz. Wir haben bis jetzt nach einer Woche Aufenthalt noch nirgendwo besser gegessen als hier und wir wurden auch nirgendwo anders so gastfreundlich empfangen und bedient. Hier gibt es noch portugiesische Speisen und das zu akzeptablen Preisen. Man sitzt zwar nicht direkt am Meer, aber das Ambiente ist authentisch und gemütlich. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder in dieses Restaurant.

It had been our favourite restaurant for 20 years and we were delighted to see the friendly waiters and familiar decor, but sadly the menu has been changed almost beyond recognition, and we learnt the owner and chef has recently changed. Most of the traditional Portuguese dishes have gone (Caldo Verde, Cataplana, Steak a la Portugese), sides are plain (and undercooked potatoes!) and the children's menu has lost its delicious tomato soup and fresh fish. And no complimentary digestif. It's such a shame. It used to be a great local place. I hope it recovers.

Very nice restaurant with good prices. We discovered it after looking for a good fish restaurant in Luz. Absolut recommended! The staff is funny and very friendly. The owner is young and very kind. He also served as other waiters. They offer a lot of choices of different kind of fishes, other kind of meat or something delicious for vegetarians. The location is cool, it is just a few meters from the ocean. Unfortunately you do not have a direct sea view but the food worth it! Enjoy!

One of our favourite restaurants now under new ownership. Same friendly waiters. The menu has changed quite a lot, not sure I like it so much. Will give it another chance. Great chocolate fondant. Knocked a point off because we did the barbecue set menu on Saturday and it wasn't barbecued, just a reduced selection of the normal food. Good value but I felt conned.

Super leckeres Essen und sehr aufmerksamer, deutscher Kellner. Zudem auch recht preiswert. Haben zu zweit mit Getränk und zwei bzw. drei Gänge Menü 35 € gezahlt (ohne Trinkgeld). Ich denke hier gehen wir nochmal hin.
Kleines Update: Wir waren nun dreimal hier in den letzten sechs Tagen und es hat sich jedes Mal vollends gelohnt. Sehr zu empfehlen sind gerade die Gerichte von der Festtagskarte. Mittwochs und Samstags sind zudem Grillnight mit tollen, recht preiswerten Gerichten. Aber auch sonst ist das Preisleistungsverhältnis super.

Ein kleines, feines Restaurant in Luz mit 1a landestypischer Küche. Wir wurden herzlichst begrüßt und den ganzen Abend sehr freundlich "umsorgt". Zwei sehr leckere Essen (Seeteufel / Sirlon-Steak) und der Sauvignon Blanc rundeten einen schönen Aufenthalt ab. Vielen Dank:)

Food was really nice we had starter meatballs in tomato souce, ruccola salad with mozzarella and tomato. Like main course we had steak and fish. All of that taste amazing and fresh. Steak was well done if we ask for medium rare. Customer service was brilliant all waitress was friendly helpful and on time. Definitely recommend ed visit this place

Très déçue de ce restaurant qui pourtant il y a deux ans était délicieux...
Peut être un changement de propriétaire ?
Les poissons restent bon mais le risotto ne ressemblait pas à un risotto avec trop peu de crustacés et trop cuits.
Cela est très dommage parce que nous ne retrouvons pas le menu que nous avons connu avec la cataplana par exemple.
Les serveurs sont adorables mais il faudrait peut être remettre des plats un peu plus typiques?

Kleines gemütliches Restaurant in Luz mit sehr gutem Essen. Leider zwischen zwei Indern etwas schwierig zu finden.
Reichhaltige Auswahl an verschiedensten Vorspeisen, die auch als Tapas bestellt und mit dem Partner geteilt werden können.
Ich hatte als Hauptgericht Tunfisch, der ganz köstlich auf den Punkt daherkam, dass heisst innen noch rosa und nicht wie leider so häufig ganz durchgebraten. Ebenfalls bemerkenswert war dazu der regionale Wein aus Alvor , der deutlich besser war, als die üblichen Weißweine.
Die Bedienung war aufmerksam und freundlich ohne aufdringlich zu sein.
Von mir volle Punktzahl , komme gerne wieder

We have been dining here for 18 years and it is still our favourite place for an evening meal.
(See below for an update in April 2018) Not cheap but not expensive either, and small enough to be convivial. Paul the proprietor goes to great lengths to make you feel that your custom is valued.
Visited again in December 2017, when we learned that there would be a change of ownership in April 2018, when we were due to return. We met Jan, the new owner and found that, as he had promised, the Atlantico is continuing exactly as it has been under Joanna and Paul (who has helped to ensure a seamless changeover).

Little cosey restaurant located on a side street in Luz. The sun was shining down on our table, was a perfect setting and a beautiful meal, food here is top class, we had fresh fish and was easily one of the best meals we had our holiday.

Ik schrijf deze revue omdat ik Paul en zijn broer uit het Arnhemse ken. Dus er nog nooit geweest website ziet er perfect en uitnodigend uit. Wens jou en je team een perfect zomer seizoen 2018 toe. Hartelijke groet uit het Arnhemse!

Comida riquísima..nos encantó! Pedimos lubina a la brasa para llevar y la verdad es que estaba buenísima..el personal super amable y aunque no tengas las vistas de Fortaleza da Luz ( otro restaurante enfrente en el que no nos trataron muy bien ) la comida está muchísima más rica !!

店員さんにとても上手な日本語話せる方がいてびっくり！！とても助かりました。お食事もとても美味しく食後にサービスのリキュールと子供にアメをもらいました。目の前に駐車場もあり、ビーチも近くで景色も海が見え、凄くおすすめです！！
