Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, expected better from my pizza. Prices can be high, 76€ for 4 people is way too much for what we ate. Bread and olives were way too expensive for starters.

Bons espaços, atendimento competente. Entre as pizzas e os pratos de especialidade, prefiro estes últimos, sobretudo o risotto. Nas redondezas é um dos melhores restaurantes de comida italiana.

Great food, usually you don't see Italian restaurants by the road but it was a great surprise. The food and the staff is great. If you're traveling the N120 either heading to Lagos or Lisbon if you're feeling hungry you should visit Gulli.

Eines der besten Restaurants rund um Aljezur. Auch als Vegetarier wird man hier problemlos fündig.
Die Pizzen sind exzellent, ebenso die Weine.

Quando a entrada chega depois do prato principal...
Quando pedes um bife da vazia “mal, mal” e chega médio para bem, ou o chef não tem confiança na carne que está a servir ou todos os pratos estão pré-feitos e o cliente não tem opção possível, sem que nada lhe seja dito.
Quando o atendimento, apesar de simpático, não passa disso mesmo...
Ficas a pensar, se calhar as expectativas que se formam em redor de um restaurante são demasiado altas.
Nota: completamente informal.
Esta é a minha crítica a este estabelecimento, baseada na minha experiência, na única visita que fiz a tal sítio, no dia 4 de Maio de 2018 e nos factos ocorridos.
Não faço conjecturas nem juízos de carácter dos funcionários ou gerentes.
Quando a gerência lida com as críticas legítimas dos clientes da forma como a resposta abaixo expressa, está tudo dito.

Cenamos muy bien y todo rico. Tardaban en atender y el gin&tonic con hielos medio derretidos fue lo único negativo. Estaban bastante saturados. Hubo que reservar. Precios un poco altos.

In close proximity to Aljezur it is a bit of a drive from Lagos. But boy is it worth the drive! The pizza tastes like you are in one of the top pizza places in Rome - thin crust and high quality ingredients - very tasty! Very friendly staff makes you feel hanging out at a friend's place.

Melhor pizza que já comi na vida. A pizza foi a pizza da casa, com rúcula, queijo chevre aceto balsâmico, morango,nozes e a massa estaladiçaaaaaa. Que por sinal harmonizou muitoooo bem com o vinho sugerido o OUTERO. Que lugar é esse? Atendimento perfeito, ambiente super relaxante.
Sem palavras a tarde maravilhosa que paseei.

This roadside restaurant, just outside Aljezur (S), is a VERY pleasant surprise. There is a lovely outside area, coverded to keep from the heat of the sun. The menu is very interesting, with choices ranging from tempura to carpaccio. The mains range from excellent pizzas and homemade pastas to top quality local meats. We had ow cooked lamb, which was delicious. The staff were pleasant and prompt, the bathrooms immaculate.

O restaurante fica no meio do nada e podemos passae por ele e nem damos conta... tem tudo contra ele neste aspecto. Porém, posso afirmar que foi o melhor restaurante que coloquei pés ate hoje. Existe estudo e paixão por trás de quem está na cozinha.
Não é daqueles restaurantes que querem ser diferentes e pagas bem no fim.
Recomendo vivamente!!!

Una experiencia muy buena. Los platos muy bien elaborados. Una ensalada griega espectacular. El risotto con un fondo dw sabor de naranja, espectacular. La pizza muy bien hecha. Solo puedo hablar bien de la comida.
El trato muy bueno por parte del personal. Si vas con perros, son bien recibidos y les ponen agua.
El enclave magnífico por el día y mágico por la noche.
Muy recomendable. De lo mejor de la zona.

Trendiges Restaurant mit jungem Publikum. Eine Reservierung ist besonders ab 20 Uhr dringend zu empfehlen. Bei warmen Wetter kann man in dem schön eingelegten Biergarten sitzen. Das Essen ist hervorragend und wird schön angerichtet in moderaten Portionen serviert. Die Bedienungen sind äußerst zügig und aufmerksam. Bei einem Aufenthalt in Rogil und Umgebung unbedingt dieses Restaurant besuchen!

The food was amazing! My friends and me wanted to give a great review.
Staff:
But the lady who did service us was not very friendly and did a big mistake at the end. She did not even say "thank you" after we put money inclusive tip in the box. She came back to our table, collected the money and did not even recognize us.
Everything we have enjoyed was destroyed immediately with this strange situation.
I hope this feedback will help you to train your staff about the most important: Personal customer care!

A nice restaurant located on the side of the road between Aljezur and the road to Carrapteira. The menu is mainly full with delicious italian dishes. It is strongly recommended to make a reservation.

Incredible food, speedy service, and great environment. Loved every second of being there and every bite of every dish.
Portions are a little small, but they are priced in such a way that you can eat a first and second dish for under 20 euros. Considering the quality and presentation of the food this is honestly a bargain. None of the 4 people I went with left the table hungry!
If you're wondering whether or not you should visit do it! We were also hesitant because of the other comments about portion sizes but it turned out to not be a problem at all.

Das Restaurant Gulli Bistrot hat uns super gefallen, gelegen an der N 120 lohnt sich ein Besuch auf jeden Fall. Die Gerichte sind äußerst ansprechend zubereitet und schmecken vorzüglich. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und die Kommunikation erfolgt in portugiesisch, englisch oder deutsch. Für Abends empfiehlt es sich zu reservieren, die Klasse des Restaurants hat sich rumgesprochen.

Der Anfahrtsweg ist ein wenig lang.
Essen war sehr sehr lecker, man denkt anfangs, die Portionen reichen nicht aus. Sind aber satt und zufrieden nach Hause gefahren.
Die Karte ist sehr klein gehalten, dafür wird auf hohem Niveau gekocht und serviert.
Wir hatten die Tortellini, das Steak und ein Schokotörtchen. Dazu ein Bier und ein Sangria. Preis lag bei knapp über 40€.
Wer die portugiesischen Preise kennt, weiß, dass es ein teurer Laden ist. (Selbst die Bedienung hat uns viele andere, gute und vor allem günstigere Restaurants genannt.) Wer aber mal was Tolles bzw. Ausgefallenes haben möchte, macht mit Gulli nichts verkehrt.

Een gouwe stek, prima eten en drinken! Echt van hoge kwaliteit. Een ding, je moet van mensen en dieren houden!
De eigenaren bedienen en staan in de keuken meer dan hun mannetje. Ze zijn beide erg gastvrij ingesteld en niets is hun teveel. De menu's zijn stuk voor stuk aanraders en het eten is werkelijk van hoge kwaliteit en prima verzorgt.
Gastvrijheid staat dus hoog in het vaandel, zowel binnen als buiten hangt een informele sfeer die erg prettig aan doet en je het gevoel geeft of je bij oude bekende op bezoek bent. dat geld ook voor de poezen en de hondjes, spelenderwijs verplaatsen ze zich op het terras en zijn dol op aandacht. De prijzen zijn aller zins redelijk , zeker als je kijkt naar de kwaliteit van het gebodene. O ja, vergeet niet een van de toetjes te proberen, ze zijn het waard. Smakelijk eten en veel plezier!!!

Jantámos muito bem. Os pratos são muito bem apresentados e tem uma cozinha diferente, original. Boas entradas, algumas muito sofisticadas. Os empregados são simpáticos e o serviço é bom. Não dou as 5 * porque no ano passado comemos ainda melhor e aí sim foi excepcional.

Formidable!! No te esperas un sitio con tanto encanto cuando lo ves desde la carretera (queda a pie de la misma). Tienen mesas dentro y también fuera. El servicio es amabilísimo. La comida es diferente, con un toque de modernidad, muy bien presentada y riquísima. Absolutamente recomendable!!!

Despite high local recommendations and online reviews, we were disappointed with our experience. The pizza was poor... The dough was overcooked, the sauce was bland, cheese was thrown on as an after thought and oregano (!!!!) was thrown on top of a Margherita! It was a glorified oven pizza. Same goes for the iced tea, tasted like a sachet.
Caveat: we only had pizzas, so can't judge the wider menu (which looked good).

Gourmet food, at affordable prices in a great place. Tried the poke risotto and it was just perfect. All this in a relaxed environment just outside Aljezur. A must if you're in the area.

Service was a very much perfect — a nice balance of attentive personal and well timed. Food was excellent — eclectic with Italian, Portuguese flair. Dessert was just too fun! TIP: The bread and olives that are out on the table when you arrive costs 3 euro — if you don’t want it — just politely refuse and you won’t be charged.

food is really really good. the staff is pretty friendly. the service can be a bit long sometimes tho. be sure to make a booking if you wanna be sure to get a table! it gets quite busy and sometimes they run out of some of the stuff on the menu (which can be good or annoying depending on how you think;))

Excellent restaurant described by some guests of ours as 5 star food without 5 star prices. The Filet Mignon is pretty much their signature dish and i would highly recommend it in combination with the vegetable rice. Many of our guests eat here at least once during their stay - you can be assured of great food and service here.

Et bien C'est ici que ça se passe, un resto a la fois chic et décontracté ou vos enfants peuvent manger une vraie bonne pizza pendant que vous vous régalez avec les succulents plats de la carte, C'est le choix qu'ont fait les propriétaire de Gulli ce petit restaurant en bord de route qui ne paye pas de mine et où nous ne nous serions probablement jamais arrêté s'il ne pleuvait pas ce jour là !
Quand on entre la première chose qui saute aux yeux, C'est la déco, moderne et sobre, et une jolie sélection de vins locaux bien mise en avant, et là on comprend de suite que ces gens là ont du goût, en plus ils sont souriants et vous servent dans de jolis vrais verres à vin !
A table, C'est le bonheur, tout ce que nous avons goûter était un festival de saveurs, on est pas dans de la cuisine Portugaise certes, mais qu'elle regalade de l'entrée au dessert et à un tarif défiant toute concurrence...
Chapeau donc à cet établissement qui a su nous surprendre, et où nous nous sommes rendus uniquement sur les avis Google qui étaient unanimes.

Este é daqueles restaurantes onde a vista é melhor que o sabor. Visualmente pratos apelativos mas em termos de sabor apenas com um tom DOCE, a entrada de polvo e de camarão pecam pela falta de um ácido ou picante para equilibrar o doce do camarão e do polvo. Eu diria que falta um vinagrete no polvo e uma acidez ou picante no camarão. O risoto de gambas tinha demasiada gordura provavelmente do bisque e o camarão enrolado em demasiada massa frita.
O atum que era acompanhado de um risoto cítrico só sabia a queijo o que salvava o prato era a qualidade do atum e os dois pequenos pedaços de casca de laranja seca que com um gomo de laranja permitiram terminar a refeição.
Tentei salvar a refeição com um petit gateau que veio demasiado cozido.
Predominantemente em toda a refeição faltou tempero quer seja sal, pimenta, picante ou acidez. As duas estrela são para a apresentação.Os 60€ pagos para duas pessoas até podiam ser justos se a qualidade e sabor fossem melhores.

Honestly the best food I've had in a long time! Portion sizes are a bit on the smaller side, but the quality is amazing. The staff was very friendly and our food arrived quickly (about 15 min), even though the restaurant was quite busy. We had the tuna and the Scaloppine.

Wir waren begeistert von der Qualität der Gerichte. Aber die Portionen sind extrem klein. Das Tiramisu konnte leider gar nicht mit den herzhaften Gängen mithalten. Viel zu süß, zu viel Sahne, gar kein Espressogeschmack. Das geht besser. Wir bevorzugen generell eher das Schwesterrestaurant Varzea in Aljezur mit eher portugiesischer, sehr kreativer Gourmet Küche und etwas größeren Portionen. Dieser Aspekt ist auch nicht unwichtig.

Eficiência, qualidade e simpatia. Três itens que se procuram num estabelecimento de restauração. No Gulli come-se excelentemente , com óptima apresentação. O serviço é rápido e o staff muito eficiente..Claro que o resto tem a ver com as infraestruturas existentes. É simples e sem mordomias. Mas comparativamente , oferece mais do que o que cobra.O ideal para férias e dias de descanso longe das cidades.Fértil imaginação na confecção e empratamento sinal evidente de que o cheff é de nível superior e exigente. Main dishes are fine the rest need a lot of improvement.
We booked a table for 5, got in time and had to wait 15 to 20min (which I don't think is a big deal, however I expect to be invited to have a drink while I wait to be seated, high tables are available at entry point.
Not everyone is used to this type of menu, I think the waitress should be instructed or spend sometime explaining, for example, Portuguese main dish portions are usually large enough for a single dish meal, however due to the "gourmetish" style of the restaurant people should be invited to try a three course meal, or make set menus mandatory.
Basket of bread with 3 thin slices off focacia was served, for a table of 5, we asked more baskets and where let known that no more was available, I would understand if you just walk in for a meal but not when you book the table.
We ordered 5 different main dishes, all the dishes were very good and balanced, beside the ravioli, the bistro sauce had poor connection with the ravioli filling, however the pasta and praws where perfect.
We ordered all the different desserts, all where good, but the Affogato wasn't of my taste I would probably use an Irish whisky for a more caramelized taste instead of the scotch which the sharpness overtake the taste of the rest.
For a gourmet/mid to high end restaurant, I expect cloth or Base for the dishes as well as linen napkins and cutlery set on the table instead of inside a metal bucket, in my opinion there was some mismatch on the concept.
Heaters should be present if tables are offered outside during night time, blankets are acceptable for a bar / tapas restaurant.
Bill was handled on hand, as there was 'no more boxes', I think people can improvise, or just wait for another box to become available.
Some tables received different levels of attention from the waitress.
The space itself is very nice and we'll decorated. Backless benches shouldn't be offered for dinner menu, particularly if elderly people are present in the group.
My overall opinion is, the cuisine end is good/very good with some bits that can be improved, the management and client end has a lot to improve.

What a wonderful treat!! A lovely pretty white and blue building on the side of the road on the way to Aljezur. Don't be put off that it's by the road as it doesn't have any impact and it actually convenient to get to with ample parking. With a pretty interior and lovely garden terrace out to the side, this little gem of a restaurant has enjoyable background music and a lovely ambiance. And that's not the best of it! The food was absolutely deeelishous!!! I had the black pork with a small side salad. My husband had the beef fillets with sun-dried tomatoes, pesto and cream cheese tagliatelle. And our son a pizza. My homemade lemonade was actually made with fresh lime and was perfect for the hot sunny day. It was a bit like a virgin mohito. The boys thoroughly enjoyed their ice cream and my coffee was good. Excellent value for excellent cuisine. Can't wait to go back!!!

Eher außergewöhnliche Gerichte, wenn man an Aljezur und die Umgebung denkt. Sie reizen das Fusion-Food bis zum extremen aus, wodurch es keine portugiesischen, italienischen oder sonstigen Regionalen Gerichten entsprechend ist. Service ist sehr freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend, leider ist das Restaurant meistens völlig ausgelastet, wodurch wir genau 1 Stunde und 40 Minuten auf unser Essen warten mussten. Wer gerne mal etwas "anderes außergewöhnliches" probieren möchte ist hier richtig. Für jemand der nur zu Mittag oder Abend essen möchte und einfach Hunger hat konnte hier etwas überfordert sein

Ce Mardi 16/05 était la troisième fois que je me rendais dans ce Bistrot. Il s'agit d'un restaurant "Italien" gastronomique à prix démocratique. La cuisine est sensationnelle et réalisée avec des produits frais de la meilleure qualité, les plats sont magnifiquement bien dressés et SURTOUT ! les desserts sont à tomber. En plus de tout ça le personnel est sympathique et le cadre magnifique et très agréable. Bref, il s'agit du meilleur restaurant des environs.

We ended up by mistake at Gulli's bistrot. We were looking to have lunch somewhere near the beaches we were visiting. I am glad I bumped intot this place. Amazing food, reasonable prices, nice service. We had the ravioli and filet mignon, which was mind blowing. Order the homemade lemonade. It's very tasty.

Deuxième année que nous y allons, toujours un délice ! Plats très originaux, une adaptation des produits portugais façon italienne, un vrai régal !
Nous y avons pris les crevettes panées et le tartare de saumon en entrée et en plat, les escalopes de veau au citron avec des pâtes et une entrecôte aux champignons, poivre vert et légèrement fumée. C'était fabuleux !
Cadre très sympathique avec une terrasse ombragée ou pas. Personnel et service impeccables !

I love Portuguese food - its simplicity, freshness, etc - but even so, Gulli was a welcome bit of something more widely Mediterranean. Lovely, helpful staff; delicious food (the filet mignon was amazing); chic and cool interior - they all added up to a great dining experience. Highly recommended.

Reviews for this place seemed a little mixed so we stopped - (20 05 2015) - by to have a look and stayed for one of the best meals we have had.
This was a refreshing change from the norm here. The restaurant is beautiful including outdoor patio. Excellent service and the food was the best! We had beef carpaccio and filet mignon of black pork to start. The black pork was amazing. We also shared a great pizza.
Good wines and dessert too, good value, great concept. Highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good food and a change of scenery.
