We had a great day here got a few things don't worry about what some people have said on trip advisor we found one couple selling hand painted vases who were really friendly and showed us photos of their wedding they had been married 50 years and showed us their children my wife loved them so much love lovely couple

Typical tourist market .. definitely worth a visit .. though quite quiet when we visited as the police raided the place looking for counterfeit goods, shame ;)
The police were taking black bags full of goods away .. quite an experience.. :)

I'm glad that we didnt have to travel too far to get to this market, otherwise it would have been a big disappointment. Medium sized market selling the usual market fare, clothes, cheap watches, sunglasses etc. However, there is an amazing range of items made from cork- who knew that you can have a cork skip cap?
All items at 'Nice Prices' as you would expect.
Pretty busy place as bus loads of tourists shipped in and out throughout the 2 hours we spent there. I would imagine that during peak tourist season this area would be teeming and somewhat uncomfortable as there are not many refreshment opportunities in the vicinity.

Marché sans intérêt, je m'attendais à visiter un marché portugais typique j'ai été très déçu. En fait c'est un terre plein avec une cinquantaine d'etals tenus par des gitans qui vendent des choses très bon marché et de mauvaises qualités et des contrefaçons.
2h dans ce lieu, un calvaire !
Cette visite est au prix de 17 euros par personne à partir des différents hôtels. Le temps pour accéder au marché est interminable.

Men kan er leuk shoppen voor mannen en vrouwen. Let op afdingen door de vrouw laten doen die hebben meer geluk dan de mannen.
Maar als u in deze streek op vakantie bent moet u deze markt hebben bezocht. Let wel de markt is ALLEEN OP WOENSDAG vanaf 8.00 /14.00.

Lots of bargains really loved it. Lots of places selling food if your peckish and coffee vans. The market sold a variety of things. Good fake handbags and good fake Ralph Lauren le coste mens polo shirts if you like fakes. Lots of local people shop here too. Belts, bikini stall. Nice shoe stall for both men and women lovely baby clothe stalls. Can't wait to visit again soon Good atmosphere nice Portuguese bar next door.

Sorry but not worth the trip, mostly clothing set up like a jumble sale, and cheap imitations of gear, save your holiday time and stay on the sunbed and have another drink thats what you came for, not to hunt down the Cypsys.

Plenty of things for tourists to buy here. Most of the things are similar to other torusit souvenir shops here (Cork and leather goods, tiles, etc) but there are a couple of gems to find.
Parking can be a chore but there is a paid for car park or free on the street.
Always at least try and haggle here. Don't be afraid to as their first prices can sometimes be a little high.

A decent market, with much of the same stuff on each stall. Don't expect any fresh food on sale here. But I strongly recommend a coffee and donut for 1 euro. Parking is quite easy too on the main road.

This is a large typical market... selling all sorts of things... lots of things for tourists... we had an enjoyable hour.
If you use the green route bus its stop 38 and a short walk from Lidl. There are taxis outside... when we was there a number of tourist buses were there.....

Es hat geregnet. Die Stände wurden nicht oder nur teilweise aufgebaut. Vielleicht so 20 Stände und 5 Imbisse waren offen, teilweise standen die Transporter auch nur voll rum. Also auf keinen Fall bei Regen dorthin, kann man sich sparen.

Went on a wet day so limited for selection of stalls. Not much variety and best to look around before purchasing at the first stall as these are usually more expensive. Lots of fake watches, shoes and handbags but cheap souvenirs. Free allocated parking next to market and easy to find using Google maps.

Hier eet je de beste churos ooit! Hiervoor alleen al ga je naar deze markt. Wat mij betreft was er een serieus overaanbod van tasjes, nep zonnebrillen, tasjes, nep zonnebrillen, rommelspeelgoed, nep zonnebrillen, jurkjes, tasjes en dergelijke. Busladingen toeristen die eerst het nicotine niveau bij moeten hijsen? Bah bah! ... Maar voor de churos ... Voor de churos moet je hier zijn!

Not for everyone, but has some good stalls and bargains. Big outdoor market. Lots of stalls selling the same stuff aisle after aisle. Clothes, handbags, shoes, tableware, sunglasses, etc. A mix of real quality local products, but also cheap rubbish you would find in any discount store.
Hidden gems... Look for the man near the centre of the market selling nuts, marzipan fruits, and tradition honey. His orange blossom honey is outstanding. Visit the couple selling fresh Portuguese style donuts and churros. They always pitch up on the side nearest the carpark, about halfway up the first aisle. Don't buy donuts from anyone else, as they won't be as good.
Avoid the central cafe area. Overpriced food and drinks, and full of flies!
Market used to have more selection, including hardware stalls. Now can't find so much as a screwdriver. OK, so not a problem if you are a one-time visiting tourist, as who needs a screwdriver on holiday? Only, we use to buy lots of little DIY project items for our apartment that are much more expensive in the main hardware shops.
Try and go early morning to avoid the worst of the midday heat and before the carpark gets really busy, and probably worth avoiding altogether in high season as it gets unbearably dusty and hot.

Aire de parking occupée par une centaine de stands spécialisés dans la contrefaçon et le pseudo artisanat local (ça ne semble pas émouvoir la maréchaussée qui contrôle pourtant l'entrée)
Les articles se suivent et se ressemblent, contrairement à ce que j'ai pu lire ici, les prix sont fixes et entendus entre les vendeurs.
Préférez vous garer sur la nationale (pour partir plus vite): le parking est complètement anarchique

Not a bad market lots of the same stuff but that is too be expected.
Worth it to see the coin man definitely have a look amazing work and a really nice man as well.
Churros were really nice.
Get there as early as possible before it gets too busy, we got in at 9am and much easier to walk around compared to when we left.
Worth a visit if you have a spare couple of hours on a Wednesday morning and your quite local.

Sehr großer Markt.Die meisten Stände sind Schuhe und Taschen, aber auch Spielzeug ,Sonnenbrillen und vereinzelt auch Klamotten.Eben alles ausser Lebensmittel.Leider haben wir über 2 stunden verbracht um den Markt zu finden weil auf vielen Internetseiten die falsche Adresse hinterlegt ist.Die Richtigen Koordinaten sind 37°04'24.2"N 8°04'35.3"W .Parkmöglichkeiten sind Mangelware.Der Gebürenpflichtige Parkplatz ist meist belegt.

I think I misunderstood the name "gypsy market". I assumed it was a flea market wirg antiques and old junk. It was not. It is a trashy modern market, full to the brim with cheap clothes, handbags and other similar throw-away beach wear. Plus thousands of sunburnt Brits. Avoid at all cost.
Plus parking was a nightmare.

We visited the market and bought a few nice things a lot cheaper than in the touristy shops. We noticed one of the tops we bought had a fault, so went back to the stall and the Lady changed it straight away with no issues. The walk up to the market from beach front was longer than expected but well worth it .

Um passeio diferente que se pode realizar em qualquer quartas-feira. Dispõe de vários artigos para venda entre eles roupa, calçado, malas, acessórios, destaca-se pela venda de réplicas. Tem ainda um espaço com rulotes para disfrutar de frango assado no carvão, bifanas ou até mesmo snacks/lanches como filhós e churros.

Pour tous vous dire , c'est le plus grand marché que je connaisse dans les alentours de Faro mais le plus cher . J'y vais chaque année , pour y trouver des cadeaux souvenir pour les amis , mais attention en période estivale, méfier vous des étales qui n'affiche pas les prix, pour eux c'est une façon de fixé des prix à la tête du client et vous serez déçu de retrouver le même article un peu plus loin beaucoup moins cher , et parlons des tee shorts de contrefaçon à 10€ , c'est peut-être pas cher mais je vous conseille d'aller directement dans les magasins de sport au mois d'août, il y a les soldes et vous trouverez les vrais marques pour le même prix. Se marché est ouvert tous les mercredis jusqu'à 13h voir plus tard s'il reste encore des touristes. On peut y manger ou boire sur place , c'est des stand bar et font aussi poulet grillé et autre. Sinon il y a aussi des toilettes mais c'est pas le top, à par ça c'est sympa d'y allez au moins une fois et ne pas hésiter à négocier sans rien lâcher, si le vendeur veux rien entendre , vous partez soit il vous rattrape et faite affaires sinon tempis pour lui, y a moins cher trois stand plus loin. Message pour les hommes, Attention , il y a des vendeurs qui se promènent dans le marché pour essayer de vous vendre une montre ou chaîne en soit disant en or, c'est tous de la camelote et en plus si vous êtes pas intéressé, il vous propose certaines drogues, ne le suiver pas, vous risquez de vous faire dépouiller . It is always nice to visit this Gypsy market. There are lots of different stalls with a lot of handmade products (and a few knock offs) to see. I always like to haggle then walk away when they don't match my price. I always walk by the same stall later and they usually jump out at you to match your price as they are particularly good at remembering people

Bene, se pensate di trovare un folcloristico mercato di artigianato locale allora lasciate perdere. Qui si vende abbigliamento, calzature, accessori (borse, cinte, portafogli, sciarpe etc.) e un po' di prodotti etnici, prevalentemente peruviani piú un po' di paccottiglia turistica (calamite da frigo con scritte e fantasie portoghesi ma quasi sicuramente fatte in Cina). Sono presenti stand gastronomici che offrono frittelle varie cotte sul momento.
Detto questo può andar bene per una mattinata di relax con possibilitá di qualche acquisto a buon prezzo, specialmente sul tessile (lenzuola, copriletto, tovaglie) che sembrano di buona qualitá e che, comunque, sono gradevoli e vivaci.

Very bustling market with a variety of 'knock off' items. A lot of the stalls repeat themselves so although it looks like there is quite a lot the variety of stalls isn't huge. Quite good prices though and if you're good at bartering can get yourself a good deal!

You will find a wide range of hand made items and clothing here. There is also a wide range of bags,shoes, trainers & hats here. They also have a few places where you can eat and drink as well. The people are friendly and some are open to a bit of haggling, if you find it's a bit too much for your budget.

Wer auf Ramschmärkte steht ist dort richtig, das Angebot wiederholt sich ständig und es gibt die gleichen Schuhe, Gürtel, Kleider, Korkzeug immer wieder zu unterschiedlichen Preisen. Die Qualität ist so lala und den gefälschten Sachen sieht man es auch an. Das gleiche Zeug findet man auch in jeder Stadt in den Touriläden, nur nicht ganz so günstig.

C'est un peu comme un souk beaucoup de made in china , un peu d'artisanat portugais , mais vraiment très peu . Pour le reste ambiance sympathique. Quelques stands boissons et churros au milieu.

I suppose it is a place that you should visit if you are staying in the area. You can pick up a couple of unusual gifts to take home. A lot of the stalls have the same stuff with bags,shoes and t shirts the main items.

there is such a big selection. from clothing for everyone. shoes to suit all tastes. bags for the woman and tools for the men. there are a few snack bars and some local craft stools. just watch out for the blokes trying to sell watches that are wandering around. The Taxis are fairly cheap and they pick up just outside the entrance.

J'y vais tout les ans me promener. Un grand marché de gitans qui vendent pas mal de contrefaçons. Les français en raffolent car on croisent que des touristes français sur ce marché en juillet, mdr. Mon mari est portugais est les manouches lui disent que pour lui qui est portugais c'est moins cher, alors n'hesité pas à négociée sans gêne, et si il vous disent non vous partez, le manouche vous rattrape ou au pire vous le trouverez sur un autre stand moins cher. Pour une robe a 8e j'ai vu une anglaise payé 45e!!! Carrément abusé!. Vous pouvez manger les chichis (beignets hyper calorique mais hyper bon) ou même des bifana sur le marché. Un bon moment pour ce promener en faisant des affaires.

Lots of stalls, many are selling the same things though. There are some bargains to be had if you know what you're looking for - best stall to visit is the man who cuts out coins to make necklaces.

Good sized market with plenty to offer. All sorts of food stands too. Toilets available. Plenty of parking available. GNR police on the front gates, also walk round occasionally. Some of the items for sale did get a bit samey, and quite a few fakes, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Nothing special, apart from the delicious churros we had. The stalls all sell the same counterfeit handbags, Polo & Lacoste shirts, with a few stand having somewhat unique things to sell. Don't expect quality or artisanal products.

Got a hotel transfer to the Quarteira Market from 9 to 12:30. We walked around and were finished in about 20-30 mins. Not much selection here. Feels like there are 6 vendors that repeat over and over again: handbags, clothes, cheap rubbish toys, belts, wallets, sunglasses... over and over again! Nothing unique, just stuff you could buy in a pound shop. Some of the vendors were pushy. Nothing else to do outside, beach >2km away so long wait for return shuttle bus! Nice little cafe next door tho with great coffee.

A mí los mercadillos ni fu ni fa. Sin embargo éste es atractivo por las mareas de guiris que son transportados hasta aquí en autobuses. Circulan con ojitos como platos, ropa inadecuada y manos pringosas por los buñuelos/pollos/churros que compran, pagan e ingieren.
Luego se bajan dos pintas en el bar de al lado y al bus.

Lots of gypsy's stall selling tea towels oven mitts and Cork handbags... Table clothes jewelry and shoes and children's clothes a mix of different tourists items and food and drink stalls... Little bit of haggling and barter with the gypsy's and you can get a good bargain.... Only down side is some people have had wallet or purse pinched... If you are savvy just make sure your wallet and purse are save in your bag etc....

Not much selection here. It feels like there are 6 vendors that repeat over and over again. Some of the vendors are pushy. Two of them actually grabbed my wife by the shoulder to try to drag her into a sales pitch.
It would have been nice if there was some unique antiques or collectables but everything was new low quality stuff you could buy in any discount store. Prices were good though and I likes the douggnuts.

Good market. Lots to see although a lot of the goods are suspect. Police raid while we were there. Plenty of food stalls. If you go by bus you should be prepared for a little walk and perhaps a while to wait for the bus back. Near to large supermarket.

Only open on a Wednesday morning. Nice trip for holiday makers. Normal gifts, clothes and cheap things. The donuts at the food stalls in the middle are a must try though. And it is mostly under cover - it was a hot day when we were there, so the shade was a bonus.

Great for a day half day visit if you are on holiday in the region. Opens around 9.00am and closes around 1.00pm. Loads of stalls with great bargains to be had, dont forget to haggle they will always drop the price!! Also has a few stalls for food. You can get public transport from most places nearby.

Busy tat type Portuguese market. If you are after fake brand products this is your place. Be prepared to haggle, and don't buy off the first stall (others in market will have same stuff). Highly recommend the churros rolled in cinnamon sugar. Market sells Leather products, jewelery, fabrics and fake brand t-shirts, watches and Portugal / Algarve souvenirs. Note. This is not a food market.

Außer am Markttag der Mittwoch ist besteht die Möglichkeit sicher mit dem Wohnmobil zu Stehen Wohnmobilstellplatz mit Strom und Ver und Entsorgung Gebühren so um die 4 Euro .Dienstag Abend muß man den Platz verlassen bis Mittwoch Abend.In dieser Zeit kann man Kostenlos auf dem dazugehörigen Parkplatz stehen und Übernachten.
Der Wochenmarkt ist sehr auf Tourismus ausgelegt und nicht gerade ein Schnäppchen Markt.Zu Kaufen gibt's fast alles an Sachen vom Kind bis zur Oma.Original jedoch überwiegen Importe aus Fernöstlichen Region.
