Don’t trust concierge, front desk and much less any recommendations specially nanny’s.
1st reservation was not found at restaurant. Next night reservation was made but not 8pm as asked, but for 10pm. I was lucky to reconfirm to realize this fact. Babysitting service was highly Recomended by them. Asked sister to inform me and not to go into kids bed room. Both facts where blatantly ignored.
Breakfast they run out of Bowles and bitter. The faculty is some architects wet dream but not for users. If u need a towel for the beach call front desk 30-60 min before heading out.

We arrived and were upgraded straight away. The service was brilliant. The breakfast was a wonder and catered for everyone. Access to the golf course was by way of a cart path.

Ein durchgestyltes Hotel mit geräumigen Zimmer und schönem Ausblick. Allerdings auch mein erstes 5-Sterne Hotel, das zusätzlich zum Geld für die Übernachtung auch noch eine Gebühr für den Pool (Indoor) verlangt. Der Außenpool ist noch nicht beheizt (März).

Bardzo dobry hotel położony w spokojnym miejscu i otoczony polem golfowym. Duże pokoje z nienaganną obsługą. Przyjemna strefa basenowa. Pewnym dyskomfortem jest jedynie przejrzysta strefa prysznica/wanny, o ile do hotelu nie przyjechało się samemu lub z partnerem.

In der ersten Nacht hat die Heizung nicht funktioniert. Während des gesamten Aufenthalts war es im ganzen Hotel kalt, da Probleme mit Heizung. Wellnesbereich war leider geschlossen während gesamten Aufenthalt. Frühstück war aber ausgezeichnet, ebenso das Sushirestaurant.

This hotel was the most disappointing of the amazing hotels I stayed in throughout Portugal, though the most expensive. The massive building looked more like a remote office building structure -- indeed you need a taxi to get anywhere, and the interior as well as the room were very cold and austere; massive dark hallways gave it the feeling of a prison, and overall it felt more like a retirement village than a happening hotel. The place itself felt empty and the restaurant plunked in the lobby -- serving a mish-mash of non-Portuguese but very expensive food - was nearly empty as well. The deck seemed smaller than advertised with virtually no view of the ocean, and rather worn with rust all around -- just remote dry fields all around. Best feature was the pool area and restaurant (delicious pork belly entree...); gym was efficient but dark/windowless and sweltering. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Not what to expect from a five star hotel, which also felt like it nickel and dimed you with charges for luggage delivery, coffee capsules in room, etc.

A very odd place - unless you end up there by accident because someone has a wedding or a function there, you only have yourself to blame. You’ll be asking yourself “why on earth did I book that place?”. It resembles an airport terminal.

Larrivée est surprenante par la taille des bâtiments et leur froideur. Laccueil à la réception est tout aussi froid. La cadre autour de lhotel est beau. A déplorer quà travers les photos de présentation on ait le sentiment dêtre proche de locéan alors quon le devine au loin.La piscine est très belle mais il est impossible de manger en extérieur à cause dun vent permanent.La restauration est bonne et le personnel est très accueillant. Mention spéciale à Tatiana, la responsable du Bar et son équipe ainsi quau Maitre SUSHI exceptionnel.Il est important de savoir quà votre arrivée vous ne laissez pas simplement une empreinte de carte bancaire car on vous bloque directement sur votre compte le montant total de votre réservation! Ce qui fait que comme vous payez au moment du départ, le temps que votre banquier recrédite votre CB vous avez payé 2 séjours pendant plusieurs jours!Cest courant au Portugal et comme nous avons fait plusieurs hotels en quelques jours je vous laisse imaginer la tête de notre compte bancaire!!!De plus suite à un pb de changement de date darrivee lhotel a conservé notre 1ER prélèvement, encaissé le 2eme. Nous avons donc réglè 2 chambres par jour sur plusieurs jours....Bref nous déconseillons vivement cet établissement !!!! Il ny a de plus aucune écoute du client ni démarche commerciale. Cest assez honteux....

The resort is in a lovely area. Very peaceful location. We did receive a good vegan meal on explaining to the order-taker who came to our room herself to ensure that the meal was up to our expectations. For a resort of this level, vegan options should have been part of the menu. And it would have been really nice if the staff could have shown us the facilities in the resort. Felt like the resort is a bit under-leveraged.

In the room was literally freezing! We stayed for 3 nights and called reception many, many times. At some point they send somebody to check the AC and apparently something was broken but they never fixed it. They said also that the hotel is full and we can't change the room.
The fact that the rooms are nice or the view is beautiful are not important anymore when you freeze and leave with a terrible flu.
Really bad experience!

Unfortunately there is close to no hospitality in this place. Feels like a hospital and the staff is rude and not very welcoming!
Also, be careful the hotel works like a cheap airline. Almost all services need to be paid additionally, even the swimming area.

I wouldn't book this hotel in low seasons. Not only the hotel is cold (room, dinning hall, etc), the whole staff would be busy with a wedding for example. We didn't like the breakfast either. I caught a bad cold coming back from a 4-day stay there.

Un hotel extraordinario y muy curioso. La ubicación es muy buena, frente al océano y con vistas, al lado de un paraje natural y un campo de golf bueno. Los pasillos son anchos y con mucha luz y cristaleras. Cuando yo fui había poca ocupación. El trato excelente y el desayuno muy variado y copioso. Las habitaciones son una delicia, además de espaciosas tienen terraza y varios ambientes. Cómo curiosidad, los sanitarios son muy tecnológicos.

Die Einrichtung ist scheusslich, alles ungemütlich, keine schönen Möbel, keine schönen Materialien. Eine Atmosphäre wie in einer Lagerhalle. Nirgends eine Dekoration. Sehr lieblos. Service auch nicht gut. Einzig die Lage in Mitten des Golfplatzes mit Blick aus Meer ist schön. Sonst ist es kein 5 Sterne Haus.

Sehr gute Lokation ausserhalb von Cascais. Das Hotel lässt etwas Wärme vermissen bedingt durch die Grossraum - Atmosphäre im Foyer/ Restaurantbereich. Es gleicht eher einem Konferenzzentrum als einem Hotelresort.Besonderes Lob an den Concierge Joao, welcher sich vorbildlich um uns bemüht hat.Alles in allem ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt in einem guten Hotel.

Pro: Sehr große Zimmer, tolle Ausblicke, direkt am Golfplatz, sehr schöner Pool, qualitativ sehr gutes Frühstück, sehr gutes Bett
Contra: insgesamt etwas in die Jahre gekommen, besonders Dusche und Bad, Aufmerksamkeit des Personals im Restaurant genügt nicht 5* Standard, das erste Hotel das ich erlebt habe wo man für die Kaffeekapseln auf dem Zimmer extra bezahlen muss.

Nous y séjournons depuis maintenant 6 ans 10 jours tous les étés le personnel essai de faire des efforts mais le service n ai pas encore à la hauteur . Les chambres et le petit déjeuner sont au top . Un merci tout particulier à Ricardo de l accueil qui as prends en compte notre demande . Ne fidélise pas ces clients d une année sur l autre devrait reconnaître ces clients fidèle et faire attention à leur confort

Good and clean 5 star hotel with an amazing location and modern and spacious rooms.
The spa was good, my wife and I tried a few massages and a facial treatment and they were good.
Found the concierge inefficient as we asked to make reservation for horse riding and the concierge never bothered getting back to us.
Breakfast was included in the room rate, however since we stayed at the hotel for 8 nights, 3 days into our stay it was just boring as the breakfast didn’t change in any manner and literally was the same food with no variation whatsoever - hoping they take this constructively and look to make small changes to keep things interesting.
We dined twice at the restaurant, once on our first night and the food was awesome and perfectly cooked and tasty, I liked it so much that on our 4th night decided to dine again at the restaurant- total disaster that was, clear that it was a different set of chefs handling the kitchen and even though I ordered the exact same dish it was both cooked and presented very differently. The service was bad and slow and after 90 mins the food came and to my disappointment the fish was not cooked properly and I had to return it back.
Overall a good experience, however cannot give it more than 3 stars as they are very inconsistent with many things and should take note of this and hopefully improve.

Personal sehr unterschiedlich, beim Frühstück kam kaum eine Kaffee- oder Eierbestellung beim ersten Mal richtig an. Demgegenüber ist der Sushi Koch sehr gut, aber seine Kellnerin konnte wiederum keine einzige Frage zum Sushi beantworten und musste jedes Mal den Koch fragen.25 € extra pro Tag für das Hallenbad und nur 2 kostenlose Kaffeekapseln auf dem Zimmer sind bei dem Zimmerpreis und 5* Kategorie lächerlich.

O hotel está bem localizado e tranquilo. No entanto tem algumas falhas. Que não se admitem num 5 estrelas. As mesas onde serviam o pequeno almoço estavam sujas e sem qualquer toalha. No bar os emprega não se dirigem aos hóspedes, temos que ser nós a ir ter com os funcionários. Pela primeira vez que vou a um hotel 5 estrelas onde nos quartos não havia um tapete de saída da cama o que torna desconfortável, talvez seja porque admitam animais de estimação.

L’hôtel est bien placé, mais ce style "moderne" est très austère. Le personnel à la réception est mitigé, l'un accueillant et compétent, l'autre tout juste à la hauteur, le restaurant est a éviter, personnel prétentieux non à la hauteur, cuisine très aléatoire et de toute façon beaucoup trop chère, il y a bien mieux aux alentours a des prix honnêtes. Le parcours de golf n'est pas non plus de premier choix, les fairways ne sont pas bien entretenus. Je ne conseillerais pas l'ensemble.

موقعه جميل جدا بجوار المحيط الأطلسي وبجواره بعض المطاعم المتميزة والغرف واسعه ولكن دورات المياه زجاج ولا يوجد بها خصوصية .
والإفطار أغلبه أجبان والمني بار والقهوة غاليه لديهم أنصح كل من يسكن في الفندق عند الخروج يستخدم أوبر لأن سعره أقل من تكسي الفندق .
مع الأسف خصمو مني مبلغ لاستخدام المني البار وانا لم أستخدمه نهائيا فلما طالبتهم قالوا بوجود خطاء وسيرجع المبلغ ولَم يرجع حتى الآن ويأخذون عليك ضمان كل ليلة ١٠٠يورو .

Hospedagem de altíssimo nível na badalada Cascais. Um pouco afastado do centro, mas com boa estrutura, acomodação satisfatória, ótimo atendimento e café da manhã com boa variedade. Lugar perfeito para os praticantes de Golf. O espaço do banheiro poderia ser aprimorado, de modo a oferecer maior privacidade.

Very relaxed and great for a couple getaway. Cuisine is traditional and cared and amazing breakfast.
Had a few problems in my rate when extended my stay for a few more days and it seemed to have left a sour taste in the mouth at the end of the holiday.

The hotels design is ultramodern. The room are very spacious with large balconies with views of the golf course and ocean. The staff is very attentive and helpful. It is close to Lisbon and Sintra without the hassles of staying in the city.

Was disappointed on arrival as expected better service from a 5* Hotel.Stood at desk for a while before any acknowledgement from two people we could see towards back whilst lady was already dealing with someone at front. They made No attempt to come to us to help. We just stood there.Went to room and was surprised that had to pay £2 each for hot drink that you make yourself.As extremely hungry decided to go to the pool area to order some food. Once again staff there but busy chatting to each other. Had to approach them to ask if had menu. It was given and staff went away. Chose what wanted assuming will be back to take order. Did not happen. We had to get up and make our way to them for attention.. First impressions on arrival.Very poor customer services.

Das Hotel, die Lage, der Pool und die Zimmer waren wunderbar.Das Service an der Rezeption war gut.Leider war das Service im Restaurant und am Pool eher mangelhaft, d.h. Personal war ausreichend vorhanden, aber .... Dennoch eine Empfehlung!

Wir sind öfters in Cascais und testen dort viele Hotels. Da wir diesen Sommer meinen 30. Geburtstag feiern wollten sind wir mit 13 Freunden und Verwandten ins Oitavos. Ein Jahr zuvor war ich bereits mit meiner Frau dort und wir waren 101% zufrieden. Das Zimmer war Traumhaft, wurde jeden Tag blitzeblank geputzt und das Personal war einiges motivierter. Natürlich kann es sein das dieses Jahr der Ansturm auf das Hotel gross war und die Crew mehr Stress hatte. Das ist nicht so wild da wir sehr freundlich bedient wurden. Was uns diesmal aber negativ aufgefallen ist, war die Sauberkeit. Bei unserer Ankunft war das Zimmer nur teilweise fertig was bei einem 5* Hotel nicht sein darf! Die Dusche war noch verschmutzt und die Abdeckungen nicht (noch nicht) befestigt. Als wir am Abend nochmals ins Zimmer kamen wurden diese Sachen behoben. Trotzdem war unser Ersteindruck vor einem Jahr fantastisch und von damal 10/10 würde ich dem Oitavos aktuell 7/10 geben. Trotzdem kann ich das Hotel jedem empfehlen... sehr ruhige Lage und mit 5-6€ kommt man mit dem Taxi in die Stadt (wenn man was trinken möchte) ansonsten ist man in 10min mit dme Auto im Zentrum, Strand und in 30min in Lissabon, Sintra und Cabo da Roca.

Ich wurde von einem Freund eingeladen der seinen 30. Geburtstag gefeiert hat. Das Zimmer war teilweise nicht gut gereinigt worden. Im grossen und ganzen war der Aufenthalt aber super. Ich reise viel und übernachte ind diversen 5* Hotel auf der ganzen Welt das Oitavos hat zwar einen hohen Standart und noch höhere Bar-Preise aber das beste Hotel wo ich bisher besucht habe ist es nicht. von 10 Punkte würde ich dem Oitavos 8/10 geben.

For a premium hotel the service is shocking. Room service or drinking outside can take up to an hour for drinks to arrive and there is a very good chance they won't be what you ordered. The Japanese tables serve very good sushi but nothing too adventurous whereas the main restaurant serves very adventurous dishes that are badly cooked and badly conceived. Most of staff speak very little English despite it being the hotel's 2nd language for menus etc.
The rooms are beautiful as long as you have no want of privacy from your partner. The glass shower looks straight into the glass toilet so nothing is left to the imagination.
This futuristic looking hotel was conceived by someone who enjoyed walking as it's a very long building with everything spread out.
All in all it has the possibility to be a swanky affair but the lack of staff, lack of good staff, lack of decent chefs and poor attention to detail leave this hotel at the bottom of my return to list.

Man muss es mögen, das Hotel (Innen/Außen) ist sehr kühl gestaltet , ansonsten ist die Lage gut, zwar nicht am Meer aber einzigartig.

We loved the Oitavos. The modern, spacious rooms were comfortable and well appointed. The bar was well stocked and the cocktails were great. The food was a bit 'confusing' in places (perhaps too much fusion going on) but it was all good. We loved the locations and rented bikes to visit Cascais and the beaches to the north. We look forward to returning.

Magnifique prestations.Seul reproche, peut-être, en étant client de lhôtel, jai eu beaucoup de difficulté pour trouver un départ pour jouer sur leur golf, en effet il est dabord réservé aux membres... Donc jai eu la chance de pouvoir jouer avec ma femme que vers 15hoo, et nai pu faire que 12 trous...la nuit tombant...

Deuxième séjour dans cet endroit jouissant d'un point de vue à couper le souffle sur l'atlantique, au milieu de la pinède est des dunes. Si la gastronomie de l'hôtel est toujours au niveau, malheureusement, le service s'est grandement détérioré ces dernières années. Réceptionnistes mal aimables, plus de possibilité de profiter des vestiaires du spa (spa devenu payant par ailleurs), turn-down minimaliste. L'endroit gagnerait donc à retrouver un management efficace afin de retrouver un niveau de service conforme à ses étoiles.

Weve traveled to a lot of places: Europe, New Zealand, many places in the US, Mexico resorts, and this is one of the best places weve stayed in. If you come to Portugal, we highly recommend staying here as it is 20-25 min to Lisbon, 25 min to Sintra, 20 min to Cabo da Roca & 5 Min to Cascais and Estoril. Additionaly, it is located in a Very Nice area (upper scale community). The location of the resort is great for the views, lots of activities, and great weather near the ocean. You MUST get the breakfast package as it is a very elaborate spread with very fresh fruits, with ordering service (cappuccinos omelets, etc..)

Great stay, hotel is wonderful. Rooms are big with a nice large balcony. Separate shower and bath tub. Comfortable beds. Very quiet area, not in the middle of town. Short taxi ride to Cascais for approx 6 euros.

Despite our first impression - Urgh, is this a congress center, Mr Spok? - we truly enjoyed the hotel, its service and the surroundings. This futuristic space ship is located in a peaceful area close to the seaside and is surrounded by a golf. We appreciated his large bedroom suite & great bed, the wide corridors, the wonderful breakfast, the very good sushi for reasonable budget. Great care and professional service. The horse riding and the tennis nearby are a plus, besides the pool and the golf. Guincho beach is reachable by bicycle or - for the more sporty of us - by foot. Ask for a room at the sunset sea view side and avoid beaches on the weekend.

Bel hôtel bien situé et plutôt réussi au niveau design. Petits défauts tel salle de bain et toilettes trop 'ouvertes' ce qui peut déranger la nuit ou lorsqu'on a des invités. Petit-déjeuner parfait. Personnel parfois mal informé ce qui crée des problèmes de coordination e.a. entre l'hôtel et le secrétariat du golf. Clubhouse golf excellent pour déjeuner. Minibar en chambre beaucoup trop cher.

Meine Freundin (25) und ich (28) waren 7 Nächte im Oitavos und wir werden bestimmt nochmals hingehen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich obwohl wir unter dem Durchschnittsalter des Oitavos waren. Die Lage ist gut wenn man gerne ein bisschen ausserhalb und es ruhig haben will. Ich bin kein Fan von Hotels in der Stadt. Mit dem Auto waren wir jedoch innert 20-40 min in Sintra, Lissabon und allen anderen wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Das Frühstück ist Traumhaft und ich habe noch nie so gut gegessen nicht einmal in einem Novotel. Einzig den SPA Bereich fand ich ein wenig langweilig zumal das Dampfbad in Reparatur war und auch alles ein bisschen vergessen aussah (nicht dreckig). Ich kann dieses Hotel allen empfehlen. Danke für die schöne Zeit in Cascais.

Sehr grosszügige moderne Zimmer, cooles Design. Feines Morgenessen mit speziellen Früchten. Schöner Golfplatz, alles gut organisiert, ausser dass der Buggy mit EURO 70 zu teuer war.Die Fahrräder könnten besser unterhalten sein. Zu Fuss hat es ein super Fischrestaurant direkt an der Küste, das Montemar.

Das Hotel ist ein kühler Glaskomplex, welcher eher schlecht unterhalten ist. Überall rostet die Stahlkonstruktion vor sich hin und die Bodenbeläge lösen sich. Erstaunlich für ein vier jähriges Gebäude. Der Raumservice, das Frühstücksbuffet sowie der Pool waren ausgezeichnet. Die Sternebewertung ist unserer Meinung nach zu hoch. Höchstens vier Sterne.

Sehr schönes, modernes Hotel mit grossen Zimmern. Auch für nicht-golfer geeignet. Keine direkte Standlage aber ein super Pool mit vielen Sportmöglichkeiten z.B. jogging, radfahren, wandern. Die Umgebung ist sehenswerst Sintra und Cascais.

Wir haben The Oitavos zum 3. Mal als eine Station unserer Golfreisen nach Portugal besucht. Die Architektur ist ganz besonders, durch die Stahl/Glaskonstruktion wirkt es zwar einerseits kühl, gibt aber ein grandioses Gefühl von Freiheit. Von jeder Stelle hat man ungehinderten Blick auf Meer,Golfplatz und Küstenvegetation. Das offene Badezimmer ist gewöhnungsbedürftig und bietet wenig Privatsphäre, das muss man mögen, genau wie die sehr moderene und minimalistische Ausstattung auf hohem Niveau. Der Pool- und Spabereich sind sehr gepflegt. Das Personal sorgt ständig für ein für Ordnung; nichts beleidigt das Auge! Der gesamte Service, von Rezeption, Restaurant und Zimmer waren sehr gut und auch persönlich. Cascais ist 3 km entfernt und der Weg dorthin ist sehr schön, rechts der teilweise wilde Atlantik, links sehr exclusive Villen und Apartmenthäuser es ist alles etwas exclusiver und hat natürlich auch seinen Preis. Die Golfplätze waren es wert gespielt zu werden und nie überlaufen, die Drinks in den Clubhäuser sehr hochpreisig! Leider war bei unseren 3 Besuchen innerhalb von 10 Monaten, die Speisekarte des Hotelrestaurants quasi ständig die gleiche was häufigere Besuche nicht attraktiv machte.

Spektakuläres, sehr großzügiges Hotel. Riesige Zimmer mit viel Glas und alle mit tollem Meerblick. Offene Dusche und Toilette nicht jedermanns Sache. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Toller Golfplatz mit geringer Belegung im gesamten Zeitraum. Sehr empfehlenswertes 5* Hotel.
